The a/x in this place is super cold. Several people went their cars to get blankets and jackets. Luckily we had jackets too. On top of that, the service is extraordinarily slow. There was only our party and 2 other tables, and it took about 20 minutes for them to take our order. Although, surprisingly, once the order was in, the food came out fast. No fault of this business, but there are sketchy people outside the surrounding area at night, so just be aware of your surroundings. read more

Actually wasn't that great but my mother enjoyed her grand slam meal at midnight so that scores points she got the hot cakes you wanted sausage eggs, hashbrowns all good. She was hungry. Everything was so good until we saw the glass of water! It was so, so dirty. So disappointed. The service was quick. Food arrived not too long after we ordered and everything taste good. We went to Denny's tonight and they made us pay first before we ordered they wouldn't even let us sit down . The Denny's in Paso robles is not a good place for anybody that looks like they might be homeless, that's besides the point . They singled us out and made us pay for our meal before we even got it . Customer service is nonexistent. The waitress was so rude even a child could have done a better job. My friend was too nice and still gave her a tip even though she didn't deserve one. As we were leaving, they stopped us and asked if we had paid. SCAMMERS! This is the second time I've been fooled into eating at this nasty place with the promise of a free meal and been scammed. It says kids eat free every day from 4-7 on the side of the building and yet they do not honor that. Plus it was my husband's birthday today and they did not honor his free meal coupon and said it was due to a "broken scanner" and offered a free meal next time without any proof of that. The best part of this location is the very kind staff. Unfortunately, my hunger couldn't be satiated by great service alone. The food here is the most bland I have had ever. When they say add seasoning to food, I'd expect at least a little bit of salt and black pepper in the mashed potatoes rather than serving rehydrated potato starch. The country gravy tasted like nothing and just had a texture of goo. The mashed potatoes were just mushy fluff. The best part were the wavy fries, which at least had salt on it. The country fried steak was a chore to eat, and I haven't even eaten all day either! I rarely get so disappointed with food that I get sarcastic, but as this was the first meal of my long day, I wish I went to McDonald's instead. I would probably give it 1.5 if I could. I went there for a 3 pm breakfast and ordered a waffle, two link sausages, two poached eggs and decaf coffee. They didn't have any decaf so I had to wait for them to brew a pot. I expected a regular waffle, as a photo not shown on the menu. Hah! What I got was one of those little sugared pocket waffles like the ones that are individually wrapped in a box at Walmart. I would swear that's what it was, as I bought them once. They are like the snack cakes. WTF? No wonder they're closing 150 of their restaurants. The service in this one has really gone downhill in recent years. Sad. If I could give zero stars I would, as I begin to describe my experience with this restaurant, to begin with the employees of this place are inept at customer service, the food is crap and to finish the manager of this place is not trained to solve problems with customers it seems he takes the things that happen there very personally because if he doesn't like some criticism towards the service he gives he starts arguing with the customer and ends up denying service to the person in question the next time he returns, a little context I had already had an argument with the manager of this establishment for the poor service he had given me, early this Sunday morning I returned because it is the only place that is open 24 hours a day, I arrived between the bathroom and when I left I found the manager in front of me letting me know that he would not give me service, I did not allege absolutely anything I just told him that I was fine and I left the restaurant. Once outside I took my phone to check my notifications when the manager, already upset, took out his phone and started recording me and telling me that I would talk to the police, he began to provoke me so that I would react badly and have reasons to have me arrested but I did the same thing as him I began to record him believing that this way the situation would be controlled for all of this I had my truck parked at the restaurant and since I didn't want problems I left it parked there for a while, minutes passed I began to see how 4 patrol cars began to circle around the Dennys, immediately I knew that they were looking for me for this I was already next to a hotel that is near there but my truck was still parked at the Dennys, the police found my location and the policeman began to question me if I was drunk if I was driving my truck, I didn't answer the policeman at all I wanted to know what report the manager had filed against me had been, meanwhile the manager of that place called the tow truck to take my truck that had been parked there for at most 20 minutes, they told me that their policy was that they could call the tow truck if they suspected that someone The vehicle didn't belong to a Denny's customer, but I was going to eat. The manager started the whole problem, not me! I think the manager's goal was to get me arrested, but he didn't succeed because the police officer gave me a verbal warning and that was it. Came in this morning during an extremely busy time. Restaurant was packed to the gills with people and the register line was quite long. Still, the hostess took no time at all to spot that we wanted a table and worked quickly to get a table cleaned for us and seated us promptly. That was very much appreciated since we are on our way out of town for a road trip. Very impressed at the level of cleanliness of this restaurant from the windowsills to the floors and bathrooms everything is extremely clean and that is very hard to do with a ton of customers coming thru, so kudos to this team for keeping a tidy restaurant! Makes me feel good about eating here. As for the food: well we got a couple of the double cheeseburgers which are always a good choice at this location. My boyfriend loves the burgers here and has managed to turn me into a fan as well. They are always well made and so juicy delicious here with great toppings to choose from and the seasoned fries are excellent. Great service and good staff here as well. Came in on a busy day, service was great food was great, the manager Mandy? Very rude to her employees. One of the servers asked to go to her lunch before her fifth hour as it was already coming up and rudely told her no. When asked about her cutoff time because the server had an appointment to be at, Mandy also rudely told that it wasn't her (Mandy) problem and that she should plan accordingly even though the server was scheduled off. I understand it's busy and people are stressed but talking to your workers like that in front of customers. read more

This may be long, but there were many problems. I received a 20% off entire order coupon through their app. A group of 6 of us decided to go in for breakfast. They were quite busy, however it took the waitress at least 10 minutes to even acknowledge us and then had to explain to us that they were very shortstaffed not only servers, but with kitchen, staff and other types of employees. There were long delays inbetween ordering coffee, then getting the coffee, then having to wait again to place our food order, and then a terribly long wait until our food got to the table. And not all six orders came out at the same time. Multiple plates of food had cold food on the plate that should've definitely been hot, like eggs, sausage, pancakes... All cold. We had been there so long already that we didn't send the food back. When I took the bill ($130) up to the cash register to pay, the gentleman scanned my coupon and I noticed that it only gave a $10 discount which wasn't even 10%... Not close to the 20% that the coupon said it was worth. I went back-and-forth with the gentleman behind the register who claimed to be the manager and said that there was nothing he could do about it. He didn't know why and that I just had to call the corporation. Did not care at all about providing customer service and/or satisfaction. Repeatedly told me "can't do anything call this phone number"...very rude. I have gone back-and-forth multiple times with corporate and they too are oblivious to providing good customer service/satisfaction. They say that there is a $10 maximum discount on the 20% off coupon. However it is not stated anywhere. I took screenshots of it while I was still in the restaurant so I could have it to send to corporate. There was no apology, no concern, not even an offer for a free coffee let alone "how can we make this right for you". This is probably one of many reasons they are closing a lot of locations and are in financial difficulties. I will never eat at a Denny's again read more

First the waitress was absolutely rude and said that she would need time to seat us when there was only 1 table that was occupied. Denny's The restaurants was PACKED! Waiting list was established and servers were on it! All I thought about was getting some food in my stomach and as I waited, I observed the staff. Wow, every server was kicking butt and helping each other. It was really amazing! No attitudes, no rolling of eyes at drunk customers... just team work! They were friendly, helpful and courteous. The food was actually better then I thought but honestly I would not have cared too much at that point, I was so hungry This post is for the management. Tonight we visited this Denny's It's Tuesday kids are supposed to eat free it wasn't very busy there was three to five tables at any given time, two waitresses, cook staff and a greasy manager. The environment was quiet and pleasant. The waitress was pleasant. We ordered our food and waited. Sometime later after watching three tables leave, including Calfire and an to-go order be handed off ...my food showed up. The food looked plasticky and cold!! A film had covered the gravy at this point it had cooled off so much! The country gravy was a strange pink color it should be white I took a bite of my broccoli it was very very cold I took it by my mashed potatoes it was very cold. I padded the gravy with my fork it indented .. didn't stick to the fork. I flagged down a waitress and asked her if she could do something about it. My son's macaroni and cheese was also a matte color and cold.. not shiny as it would be if it was hot. She promtly took my plate and came back about 10 minutes later with a microwaved plate of country fried steak, a river of sloppy mashed potatoes that had melted all over the place and broccoli. My food was now fairly warm but the gravy still had the strange film over it! The country fried steak was the equivalent of a TV dinner and soggy and the broccoli was hot and mushy. I ended up scraping the gravy off which scraped off in ribbons not a pool, not a puddle... a ribbon of gravy. It had must have sat so long under the light. After eating what I could stomach and picking over my food I was given the check and decided it was time to go. The manager was managing the register, I asked him if in fact kids eat free on Tuesdays? And he notified me that kids eat free everyday from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. that it just doesn't apply to me because I did not order an adult beverage!!!! So I covered the bases with him... I politely said so you're going to tell me, I was served Stone Cold ass food that had to be microwaved at over $15 a plate when I could of had a tv dinner?. I proceeded to tell him I ordered country fried steak mashed potatoes and broccoli. My son ordered two children's plates of macaroni and cheese and two sides and an Oreo shake. I didn't even complain the shake was over blended and the texture of the milk. He insisted that because I did not order a soda I was not eligible for 1 kids free no matter how piss poor my food was... He offer no apology, no discount and no kids eat free. Well what did I expect from a skeezy greasey manager that wears his shirt unbuttoned down his chest like some greasy 50s diner cook??? Denny's almost ended my visits with changing the pancake recipe.
