Like many others have said, it's a Denny's. But this one IMO is the best one in the area. I'm not a late night diner, but this Denny's has become our go to location when we are in a "breakfast for dinner" mood. We also enjoy the Tuesday and Sunday kids eat free promo they offer from time to time. The service and food is always consistent and good. Work for Uber eats and one of the cashier older man gave me attitude when all I wanted was to get my order to deliver and he was snobby and blocking me from getting the order. I've been to lots of Denny's restaurants and this is by far the worst. We had an issue with our food and the manager didn't even apologize. Everything was awful, to say the very least. Even the atmosphere wasn't pleasant. From when we first walked in, we could just tell the experience would be negative. Food was terrible, management was obviously unprofessional and the server clearly didn't know the menu or what she was doing. Overall, i wish I could provide 0 starts. After reading all the other reviews and seeing photos of how unsanitary this establishment is, I really hope I don't get sick. Please... if you're reading this, stay away. The dennys here is fine if you want a quick bite and not care about quality or service. The employees here act like you're bothering them when you try and ask for a refill or extra napkins. On this last visit, I ordered a sampler for my friends and I to eat and it came with one chicken strip, three mozzarella sticks and a handful of jalapeño poppers. My friend and I ordered food through the Denny's website which offers delivery. Placed the order and called to confirm about 15-20 minutes later. The girl who answered said that they didn't have delivery and we would have to go thru ubereats. But that our food was sitting there ready for pickup. My card had been charged and we couldn't pick it up which is why we paid for delivery. So we asked for a manager and were told there was NO manager on duty at the time and it was this girls first day. Ok, well we're not going to be able to pick up the food so now I'm going to have to try to dispute the charge with my bank? As I'm writing a complaint to corporate, a guy pulls up from doordash with our food. He explained the situation to us in a way where I could hear that this girl legit had no training and thrown to the wolves on her first day. I felt so bad for getting hangry at her. But as far as this Denny's location, I'm shocked that they would let this happen. Denny's on orangethorpe in placentia needs a serious training revamp. Dennys had a national promotion of a free Impossible burger with purchase of a beverage on Thursday January 30th.Started at 11am.I got there at 1230pm and was promptly told they had no more burgers,they had run out.If it was 8pm,I could understand them running out.But an hour and a half after the promotion started,yeah right.I called Denny's National headquarters in South Carolina. Well, some folks out there associate Denny's with some joint that you just eat and run. I'm here to tell everyone that this particular location has their service ethics down. I give five stars because there is really nothing to complain about here. Ingrid showed up promptly. We arrived at about 9:30 Saturday morning. She asked us if we wanted drinks now or later, a veteran move, instead of just saying I'll be right back to take the order. We ordered everything, received proper AARP discounts, and all orders were hot and correct. Here's the "5 star" move: My grits got cold while I was munching on all the other food. So I asked Ingrid to heat it up. She did it promptly. The grits stayed hot for the duration. The plates are just enormous. Pancakes are huge, bacon not greasy, muffin crunchy, a bunch of food for less than the cost of McDonald's. The service here is fantastic. A meal at this location is a great value for the amount of food and excellent service received. They do care about the customers. Id give this dennys no stars if i could. We came in this dennys after a long day at choc with our daughter only to have the server who seated us get our drink order but then said she would be back to get our food order 10 mins later came over just to say she was leaving but yet still walked around the restaurant another 20 mins. Then when our food came my stepsons pancakes werent even made right nor my chicken skillet asked to speak to manager come to find out our server was supposedly the manager. It took forever to get refills then had to find someone to get a straw. Sad part there were only 2 other tables and yet it took them that long. They had an employee while on the clock sitting at the table with his family which their kids made a huge mess and were very loud. This place was absolutely horrid. I thought it was going to be a decent experience until we obtained our food...then that assumption went into the toilet. We ordered a burger, an omelette, and a 2 item sampler. The omelette and burger were fine but the 2 item sampler was a complete disgrace; there were five cheese sticks and 2 chicken strips...it looked worse than what a child would make after school when they're hungry and they grab stuff out of the freezer. So, of course i sent it back...and that's where everything turned sour. We were right there and we could hear the conversation between the waitress and the cook; i assumed they didn't think i could understand spanish but, tough for them, i can...and the way they talk about their customers was pathetic. They started laughing at us making fun of us in the kitchen...even the manager was pointing at us and laughing along with the waitress. Do not go here; its a complete sack of trash where the people think its appropriate to laugh at their guests for returning something that they couldn't cook (but a 4 year old child could....much better might i add). So, I highly advise going to another denny's or heck, Ihop is right down the street...there's also another denny's a little further from there. Denny's is Denny's...I like this one because it is allways clean and never busy.... two miles up the FWY on Imperial is a Denny's that is allways packed... come down the road to this one and you will be served your food before you even are seated in Brea. I go with my kids for the Kids eat free days.... The waitress remembers us even after Months have passed. At night the cook can juggle so when he isn't busy my kids get some entertainment through the kitchen window. I only go to Denny's late at night after a very long day of work. It's become sort of a tradition with some friends of mine. When I go, the only thing I feel compelled to order is breakfast food. I don't think I've ever had anything else but that at Denny's. On this occassion, I had the build-it-yourself Grand Slam. I got it with eggs, sausage, pancakes and hash browns. Everything was fine except for the hash browns. I love shredded hash browns and it's the feature of the GS that I look forward to the most. This time they were over done and crunchy and hard in spots. I should have asked to have them done over, but I worked 14hrs today and just wanted to eat. I've driven by this location a lot of times. I always thought that it was 'ghetto' because it's in somewhat of an odd location for a Denny's. It was actually quite decent. The waitresses were nice. Restaurant was clean. We go to Dennys a lot. My wife likes their chicken noodle soup. One evening, she said it tasted a bit different, sour. She told the manager and suggested he taste it. When checking out, she asked if he had tasted it. He said he did and it was fine. He then asked my wife if she had put lemon in the soup in an accusatory and surly way. I've been coming here for almost my entire life. While service can certainly bay from time to time by the nature of different cooks and servers, management is great and the long-time employees are wonderful. This location in particular has always kept pace with internal upkeep and additions; the WiFi is consitently good and I appreciated when TV's were added in just about every corner, playing a variety of news outlets. I gave this place so many opportunities to get a great review but it just never happened. We were seated immediately, which was nice. We ordered our food and drinks, and that's when everything went sour. People got the wrong drinks. My buddy ordered the veggie burger with sauteed mushrooms , and got no mushrooms. I ordered the create your own burger with a hamburger patty, a chicken patty with mayo. Got a hamburger with a veggie patty instead. No big deal until she told me it was a chicken patty. I had to rip off a piece and show her it was not chicken. She came back a few minutes later with the right sandwich but no mayo. Ok. I asked for mayo on the side, and she seemed like it was a burden for her. Burger was good and juicy, which was a plus. All would have been ok if the service was on par. But it wasn't. We had to keep flagging her down. Tough night, I guess. Refills took forever. The bill took forever. Actually, the bill never came. We had to get up from our seats and walk to the cash register and get our bill. I can understand if it was busy but we were one of two tables in that place. I ordered the chicken fajita bowl, after I picked it up and went home I noticed that there was no chicken at all. I called the manager to complain about it and she told me to come back in, when I got there I wasn't getting help from employees for a while. I felt like I was being ignored, I think it was because they see that I have a bag with an order in my hand and there thinking that I'm just a customer coming back to complain about there food and they don't want to deal with it. I then tell this one employee that walks by me "hello, I'm here because I ordered the chicken fajita bowl and there was no chicken inside and I was told to come back in" then she says ok and walks over to help other customers, that was very rude of here to be doing. Finally I get help from another employee that hands me the chicken on the side and they gave me less chicken then what they normally put in there and I know because I order this bowl often, it's my favorite item on the menu, I just would have thought that they would give me more, redo my whole order, or at least give me a drink for going through the trouble of having to drive all the way back there. read more

When I first walked in, two girls were talking at the podium and didn't even look up as they greeted my friend and I. Once we were seated and asked what we'd like to drink, the waitress walked away before I even finished telling her what I wanted. I order chicken strips and got four small, overcooked, pieces of chicken. During the meal, the waitress (polite, but not attentive) only stopped by once to ask how we were doing and didn't even bother to refill our glasses.
