I waited 45 minutes for my food and when they brought it the plate was dirty, it had a lot of grease, the plate was very dirty.

On a super late Friday night (of Hot August nonetheless) I think my friend and I hit up 4-5 different late night places of business (some even fast food). He suggested Denny's and I was remembering back in the day this being a go to spot before I moved to Reno. We walked in and the waitress/hostess/everything gave a heads up that she was the only worker aside from the cook and was doing her best in managing all of the tables. Of course, there appeared to be at least 5-6 tables full of late night diners. I want to give so much props to the waitress as she was hustling in making sure all of the tables were attended and she was still so charming at this time of the night/morning. Just one complaint is that it felt like a freezer in the dining room haha which was not comfortable. She also told us upon checking out that she typically works swing shift but wanted to help out as it appeared they were short staffed. I wish I had her name, as she had so much energy and I truly appreciated her hard work. read more

We were on our way back from Utah and stopped by in Reno for some much needed rest. The morning after, went out in search for food and found this comfort food place. Tons of people waiting for tables at this place, so ended up just ordering take out. I mean it's Denny's. Eggs, pancakes, sausage. It's good for the road but was never super happy with this place. I dunno what it is. I like Black Bear breakfast a lot better. I like iHop better. But that's just me. On this day, the food was underwhelming and salty. Good thing about Denny's is they're available everywhere and the menu is pretty consistent. So there's that. Good in a pinch. read more

Solid 4/5 When I'm visiting I like to try the local spots, and obviously Denny's, a national chain, did not fit that bill for our mini trip to Reno. But on a cozy Sunday morning, all the top local brunch spots seemed to be packed with an hour wait. Hungry tummy and all we decided to hit up the standard Denny's. This Denny's may seem cookie-cutter and unassuming from the outside, but everything about this location made it 10x better than any other* Denny's experience I've had. From the quick and kind service, to the extra tasty meals, this Denny's is in another league of breakfast chains. These are 3 reasons why this Denny's ranks supreme of all the other Denny's (or national breakfast chains): 1. Quick service - wait staff was efficient yet thoughtful. 2. Busy atmosphere - though the entrance was filled with people waiting to be seated (at least 10 parties waiting), we (and everyone else) got seated in 10 minutes max. 3. Flavor - everything tasted 10x better than any other Denny's I've been too. Also, pancakes were extra fluffy. *Ok, I have another enjoyable and memorable Denny's experience to share. Back in Hawai'i, my partner and I were dining in at the local Denny's and at the end of our meal the waitress said another patron paid for our entire check. She said that the patron is a regular who somehow came to a fortune and now commonly stops by and scopes out the dinners and fulfills their checks. He was very attentive and made sure we were enjoying our food, he refilled my coffee before I could ask for more, and he brought us water before we even asked. Tried to add a 25% gratuity. They lost a star for trying to add a 25% gratuity. Gained a star because has daily Military and Veterans Discount and a free meal on Veteran's Day to those who Serve or have Served as a token thanks to our GIs and we Veterans. A Veterans Discount and free meal means a lot to those unable to be employed due to military Service-connected disability as on limited fixed income. 3 stars is a Yelp "Ok" so NOT a negative review. Came here on 5/15/2024 at 10am. Was served by server Kennyon. He is literally the worst server I ever had. He forgot my order (brought me pancake instead of toast), failed to refill my coffee despite me asking him for a coffee refill, did not bring me a small box despite me asking for it, and on top of that, he dropped silverware on the table as he was picking up the finished plate. He really needs to do something else besides serving. read more

Great service and got a table as soon as we arrived. The wait staff outstanding service. The food was hot and delicious and we didn't have to wait long. Gotta say our server, Miguel was on point. Friendly and came by often to see if anything else was needed. Gotta say I would come back again if I was in the area. While having some work done on our car, my hubby & I decided to walk next door to Denny's to kill some time. Well that was a mistake. I realize it's Denny's and they've been slipping for the past few years, but today was exceptionally bad and will probably be our last visit to Denny's. My hubby ordered breakfast and I ordered lunch. His came with2 eggs , 2 bacon strips and 2 sausage links, hash browns and 2 pancakes. His eggs were over hard, he ordered over medium. One bacon strip was almost non existent and the other was barely cooked, as were his sausage and the hash browns were burnt. His coffee was like warm and tasted very old. However he was very happy with the pancakes. I ordered a California club sandwich with fries. There was plenty of meat on the sandwich but the bread was over toasted and cut up my mouth pretty badly and my fries were almost cold and very old. When I ordered, I asked for brown gravy to dip my fries in and our waitress, who barely spoke English, brought ranch dressing but charged us for a side of gravy. We barely saw out her and, with the language barrier, decided it wasn't worth complaining to her. When we went to the register to pay, we were asked how our meal was and my husband proceeded to explain all of our issues. The response from, who we figured was the manager, was..."Ok. Breakfast for dinner? I'm absolutely down for that! Denny's produces pretty good breakfasts; they're not outstanding, but they're not bad either. Their interior looks like a diner with booths and standard tables throughout their restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated. We browsed through their standard menu and during so, I noticed their limited time Holiday Menu. After looking through that, I was sold on their Cinnamon Roll Pancake Breakfast, which included two buttermilk pancakes with a cinnamon crumb topping and whipped cream. It also included a small pitcher of warm cream cheese icing along with two eggs, hash browns and a choice of two bacon strips or sausage. I chose sausage. My room mate decided to get their Slamburger with Bacon Cheddar Tots. We both also ordered their Oreo Milkshake. After our food arrived, we dug right in. My Cinnamon Roll Pancakes were pretty good. It was very sweet, especially with the maple syrup. If you have a serious sweet tooth, then this is for you. If you don't fancy super sweet foods, then I'd recommend sticking with their regular buttermilk pancakes. I'm glad it was accompanied with eggs, hash browns and sausage. The saltiness from the sausage and the crisp the of hash browns were a nice compliment to the sweet pancakes. My room mate seemed to also enjoy her Slamburger. Lastly the Oreo Milkshakes were undoubtedly my favorite part of our meal. It wasn't too sweet like how my pancakes were, but just sweet enough to make you wanting more. I ordered the Salmon from the senior menu . Leo was my server . The salad was large . Within a minute of my finishing it my hot food was brought out . I noticed Leo noticed as soon as I was done . The broccoli was a large amount. I didn't care for it , but I don't like broccoli, I'm 72 so I eat it for health reasons . I don't know how you can prepare it so it tastes good . I've tried for years . The salmon , served with garlic toast was some of the best I tasted . I was surprised. When I ate it with the broccoli, they both tasted good together . We've been here a couple of times before and our past visits had been very good hence why we came back today...but we just had the worst experience at this Denny's location. We had 3 different families and we sat separately within each family group. For my experience, when we sat down we got our drink order taken within a few minutes. While they went to grab our drinks one of the other families was barely getting their table. (This is when the bad experience starts) the other family got sat and they ordered their drinks as well. They took about 20 minutes to just bring the drinks to our table. I had ordered a sweet cream cold brew and they handed to me a black cold brew with no cream in it, while she gave me the drink she said "here's your sweet cream cold brew". By the way our other family group that had gotten sat after us got their drinks way before us. The waitress also then took our order and we waited for the longest time to finally get our food. When we got it, the orders were wrong and they hadn't even made my daughter's order. We began to eat when a family member from the other group came to our table to let us know they were leaving because they had asked the waitress how much longer it was gonna take for their food to come out when she let them know that their food hadn't even begun to get prepared yet! We had been in the restaurant for longer than 1 hr by this time. I don't think we will be coming back to this Denny's for a while if at all. read more

I was pleasantly surprised! The service was good from the moment we walked in the door until we left. Very professional, constant refills of water and personable staff. The new pancake breakfast combos are delicious. The is truly the first time I have ever received something bigger than the picture on the menu. We tried the salted caramel with banana creme pancakes and the berry pancakes. Both come with your choice of meat, 2 eggs and hash-browns. Both types of pancakes had great flavor and were very filling. This visit really makes me consider other Denny's in the future. read more
