Restaurants at airports aren't always known for their excellence, but I ate at this place while waiting for a plane and it was a good experience. I sat at the counter outside and tried to order with the QR code but a server was required. She was very nice (as was all the staff) and quickly got my order. My steak sandwich and fries was pretty good and it was a big portion...it could have easily fed two people. I also had a large bottle of Pellegrino and with tip, everything was $41. Like I said, it could feed two so I think a decent $20 meal (per person) at an airport restaurant isn't a bad deal. Combine that with nice service and I give this place four stars. read more

We recently were flying out of DIA and had some time to kill prior to our flight and we were hungry. We decided to eat here and choose some seats at the bar. The bartender was very nice and efficient. I got the crab cakes and my husband got a salad. Food arrived fairly quickly which is always appreciated at the airport since there's usually a time crunch. The food took another 30 mins to come, so I've waited a lil more than an hour just to eat. Melanie was excellent as our server and the host was super friendly too. The place wasn't overly busy when we got there and our holiday lunch could proceed with little drama. The restaurant was so festive and put us in the holiday spirit. I decided on the ahi tuna steak frites after a challenging decision making process. The seasoning was a little salty for me but the ahi inside was fine and with the salad, the taste balanced out. The salad was a huge portion for a side. Lots of fries with my dish as well. I can understand some of the bad reviews, but when your at DIA this is one of the best options for food. There is usually a line when I pass by on my way to a flight and today we were able to walk in. I thought the prices on the menu were reasonable and the staff prompt and courteous. My flight was delayed for a couple hours so I decided to load up for the 35,000 foot trip. When coming on, you will immediately notice that the Denver Chophouse is similar to a gastropub (think Golden Bee) The restaurant has the ambiance of a pub and has typical pub food, and a fully stocked bar in case you desire a hangover during your flight. I would recommend the honey chicken sandwich, with a Cesar salad. The sandwich is in ascending order: a crunchy bun, a very soft chicken breast, melty Swiss cheese, soft, hickory smoked bacon, an angry onion, juicy tomato, and crisp lettuce. The top bun is hard to find as it's berried beneath the second half of the sandwich. It's more of a chicken hamburger than a sandwich. The service is amazing, but it does take a long time to get your food, but otherwise, the service is impeccable, especially for a airport restaurant. The price is a little high but it's worth it! I left very satisfied, not overstuffed and wanting to go back asap. Tl;Dr: Denver Chophouse is a gastropub like restaurant that is fairly high priced , and has amazing service and food. Few things prove as satisfactory after traveling as a quality cheeseburger at a real steakhouse. Unfortunately, here, what was served up was neither. The meat was well done despite asking for medium well. The meat had a slight, dated taste and smell to it, cooked on a fry pan vs being charbroiled. The bun, while toasted, was Wonder bread boring, flavorless. Caesar salad was replete with Colorado-styled, soggy lettuce. The service? Meh. I carefully asked before ordering if it came with lettuce and tomato and how generous they would be with these. She just interrupted me stating "it comes with everything." The salad didn't come first as requested. Everything seemed to be a special hassle for the server. For $23 rounded, they should ask about condiments desired. It was just like high quality diner food in a nice setting. A manager named Kris did come by, tragically too late, and demonstrated genuine concern, providing me with a chocolate cake slice and even taking care of the bill. Tried Denver Chophouse and Brewery for dinner this nice Monday, 3/22/2021. Upon arrival to this airport restaurant: Pros: 1) entrance line was long! But it went fast. 2) tables were clean, cups clean. Silverwares were not clean. 3) waitress was nice. She was fast. Brought all of our drinks pretty quick. Brought us utensils wrapped in blue napkins. 4) foods were good. We ordered our Top Sirloin medium rare and it came out pretty good. Chicken salad was ok. Stout BBQ Bacon Burger ok. 5) there's plugs under the chairs by the wall to charge your electronics. The higher tables had sections where you can slide your luggage underneath you. 6) they serve a selected alcohol drinks here. 7) you order and pay online. The waitress just brings you the foods. Cons: 1) silverwares were dirty. I had to wet my napkin and wipe th been down. 2) kids cheese burger was super dry! Hard to eat. Good thing we had water. 3) they cannot give steak knives to cut. So be prepared to use a butter knife to cut your steak or sirloin. 4) if you are a family, sitting at same table, but paying separately, the app is quite confusing. It kept adding our friend's food orders into our order or vice versa. 5) On the app, there's no option to pick your steak or sirloin medium rare or rare, if you like it that way. You have to put your notes into the additional instructions on the very bottom. So if you order a burger and want it medium rare or rare, make sure to note it on the bottom. Or else meat patty will be VERY cook and chewy. 6) gratuity was already added on our tab. Conclusion: It's airport food. What can you say. It keeps you from being hungry. Albeit, we liked our sirloin. Good thing they provided those little salt and black pepper packets. Gave it much better flavor. I appreciate that the waitress brought me a little teapot of hot water for me when I asked for a 2nd cup of hot water. It's not too shabby here. Try it if you haven't. read more

Got the burger with bacon. Bun was dry. The meat was dry and seemed old. The Caesar salad was terrible. I asked the gal that brought the food out for ketchup. She looked at me and said nothing and acted really irritated. Well gosh have ketchup at the table. You serve fries for gosh sakes. I should have went to McDonalds! It would have been 2$ vs my crappy $20 meal at the Chop house. The worst part, is I felt bad for the NBA basketball team that was in eating that day. I'm so sad really- my travels take me through Denver often and I usually look forward to a $24 glass of wine and an extremely overpriced entree or appetizer just because the service and quality of food make it worth it. Not so much today. They were busy of course, but my wine was hot- not kept at proper temp and my crab cake was pitiful and small. The roasted corn and tomato just weren't: a couple of cold kernels of corn and a lonely little grape tomato raw. I was forced to use a QR code to pay, no service to speak of- ordered with a friendly waitress, but the food was expo'd directly from the kitchen and I had to hunt for someone to check me out when I was ready to go. After a few minutes I was told to check out with the QR code. :/ $45 for a glass of wine and a tiny cold crab cake with zero personal service. No thanks. I'm reviewing the Denver International Airport location and it is in no way up to par with the standard of the downtown restaurant, as to be expected. Notes for the staff: 1. "Kettle One" was watered down. I had to reorder my martini and it was jo better the second time. Also, it was noted as a Titis martini on my bill. If indeed there was some sort of compensation granted, it should have been brought to my attention. 2. The steak salad was drowning in dressing, understandablly served with only a butter knife, and undercooked. I asked as I ordered if the staff cooks true to temperature, and was assured yes, hence ordered medium rare. As you can see my meat was a true rare. 3. Attitude: I normally hang out in concourse B but, so this was one if my first dine-in experiences in concourse A. I will say that in comparison to Elways, who holds true to their values and caliber of hospitality and quality of product, I find this inferior to the downtown Chop House location, where everything is always impeccable! I had a long layover so I walked by this place several times and it was busy all afternoon. SERVICE: When I finally got in line, it turned out to be only a 5 minute wait to be seated (not bad), and I was notified by the host/hostess that it would be about 35 minute wait for food...they even asked me if that would be okay. I thought that was a nice touch, but maybe standard for an airport. All staff were pleasant and efficient. Overall, the service was very good. DRINK and FOOD: I asked for a beer taster and was given one with an "of course" response. I then ordered a 20oz. Dortmunder Lager (blonde beer) which is a little on the bitter side, but goes well with hearty foods, like a Top Sirloin steak. My order came with a garden salad with blue cheese dressing and a chilled fork (nice touch #2). The steak was prepared as requested, medium rare, however it wasn't the best cut of beef. Not much fat and a little tough. Also, no steak knives allowed at the airport, so that made it even tougher to cut and eat. The white cheddar mashed potato side was very tasty. This place is crazy busy! Even though I had a relatively short flight to San Francisco, it was lunchtime, so I stopped into Chophouse for what I thought was going to be a quick bite. Though I can't rate the kitchen speed highly, customer service was excellent. Sitting at the bar, I ordered a Bloody Mary and steak salad. It seemed super packed here, but thankfully my drink came quickly. It was so good, my mouth is watering as I write this. I love when I ask places to spice up my Bloody Mary and they go all-in. After waiting for at least 30 minutes, my salad still hadn't come, so I asked the bartender to make it takeaway. They were friendly and apologized it was taking so long. It was quick and easy to pay for my meal and dash off with my salad to the gate shortly before my flight took off. The steak salad itself was fantastic. It was a little pricey--as is airport food--but tasty and filling. Next time I'd try to plan a little more ahead so I have more time to wait for food and not feel so rushed.
