I really wanted to be able to say I had a good experience moving from the Inner Richmond to the Castro. On the front end of things, they're very helpful and responsive. Once move day came, I had to watch my things out the window as they were moved out of my apartment and left unattended on the truck platform on the ground while the movers came upstairs to get more boxes. They were advised twice to be extra careful with my plants and to move them by hand, not with the hand truck. They did the latter and ended up ruining two of my plants which they gave me a $50 credit for (the 2 pots alone totaled more than $60). They tried to blame it on the box not being properly taped and I told them I thought it was their responsibility as movers to protect my things, and they had been asked twice to handle the plants very carefully, as well as treating everything else like it's fragile. While their truck was parked outside it was given a ticket for being there for over 2 hours. I'm unsure if the contract puts that responsibility on me or not but the movers seemed like they had no idea of SF parking rules when the ticket was issued. I was understanding about the plants but when we got to my new place they left one of my $150 speakers on the ground, unattended outside the truck. Someone tried to walk off with it and one of my new neighbors chased them down and retrieved it for me, and then yelled at the movers for their incompetence. I was understanding about the plants, things happen, but when they left my speaker unattended to get stolen I was upset. Additionally, one of my lampshades was crushed. I messaged the front-end person I'd been working with to tell them about the experience I'd had and he said he would put me in touch with a supervisor who called me the next day. She apologized and said the movers would receive more training. When I told her about what had all happened, the cost I'd incurred to fix broken things, and that I almost lost my speaker, she informed me that normally the parking ticket would have been charged to me and that they'd taken care of it to make up for my experience. I was left feeling bewildered by the lack of professionalism and her acting like she was doing me a favor by covering the parking ticket and not trying to further compensate for the damaged items or the rough experience. Not only that, she then tried to upsell me by asking if I wanted help unpacking my boxes. This was not a cheap move for going across town where I had already boxed all my own things. I see my movers named in another 5-star review and I wish I had a similar experience, but I can't recommend this company based on the overall experience I had. read more

Everything was packed carefully: dishes in bubble wrap and nothing broken. Couch, bedframe, and mattress were wrapped for protection. They moved us from one apartment with a small elevator to a second apartment with a small elevator and some unavoidable stairs. Much better than doing it ourselves. Very disrespectful towards neighbors. They parked their truck in fron t of my house all day. I did not say anything. I finally went out late afternoon to in form them that they had to move because my son was coming home soon and needed to park in my driveway. The mover told me it was a "public street and that anyone could park anywhere". We ended up arguing until the person that hired them came out and told me in a dismissive way that they'd move the truck. After we showed them everything that needed to be packed and everything that needed to be moved, they immediately brought in all their packing materials boxes, bubble wrap, moving blankets, etc., and got right to work. This was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had with movers. Let me start off with Gulia, the manager. She was so professional and accommodating to my anxiety about moving. She made arrangements to fit me in a short notice, and calmed all my fears by thoroughly answering all my questions. She was prompt in all her email replies, and texts, was kind and very reassuring. She also sent me email updates about what to expect, tips and tricks, checklist to help me prepare for the move and always replied promptly. The gentleman that came over the house to give me a quote, his name was Baur, was very thorough, friendly and respectful as well. Gulia gave me an ETA for the crew that was supposed to arrive at my home to pack and load the truck with a 30 min window between 9 and 9:30am...just days after I booked with their company! I honestly expected them to arrive an hour or longer late (as I've dealt with contractors in the past and timeliness is not their strongest suit). But they arrived at my door at 9:45, which I was pleasantly surprised. The crew was amazing, 4 guys named Sergeis and one Pavel, very professional, wearing masks, clean, well mannered, and got to work right away. Those guys worked tirelessly from 10am until 9pm packing my home. They took a small lunch break, and worked non stop without distractions or needless time wasting chit chatting. Every minute I turned to look, they were just at it, wrapping, packing, loading boxes. They packed everything well, with care and professionalism. Nothing arrived broken, and everything was clearly labeled. The crew that drove the truck to Las Vegas was a different crew, and they were just as great as my stuff arrived the very next day! They gave me an approximate arrival time, but had a small issue with the truck overheating, but still arrived the same day. I cannot recommend these movers more. They are completely fantastic. My move involved replicating my apartment in the same building to the same floorplan. They did an incredible job, placing the furniture in the same place, and setting the items in the same place. Their attention to detail is admirable. I am impressed, and I am pretty picky. My move was made all the more complicated by the fact that, when it came around to moving day, I was stuck in another country that had closed the borders to people coming or going. ALI & MERGEN GAVE ME EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! First off, their arrival time was perfect and very close to the start of the timeframe they gave me (12pm-2pm), they showed up shortly after 12 which was PERFECT for me. I was moving from an apartment unit to the unit on other side of building. I was not as prepared as i should have been and was still packing my things when they arrived, not only did they offer their continuous help to assist me packing, but they were SUPER patient with me. I have never met movers so polite, helpful, and kind. They moved everything with great caution taking their time and being very precise and smart about how they were moving/stacking things in their moving box. I felt 1000% confident that all my stuff was in good hands. Also, they moved everything in record time ! They were SO quick but in a good way, you could tell by their efforts and management that they were not at all rushing and were just super experienced and conveniently fast. Their communication with me throughout the whole move was terrific ! Making sure they were asking if they could take certain items (since I was still packing) and then even waiting on me insisting I take my time. It was so wonderful to have such caring people help me move and make it all stress & hassle FREE. I also have 3 animals in my apartment that are scared of new people. My cat was running around scared of them and they were exceptionally careful of my cat. She is small and was weaving in and out of the items and boxes and they were so patient and kind to her and always took a few steps back to let her leave the space before they entered to continue moving. They even said hi to her and were super friendly to her using soft voices and being extra quiet when she was nearby. In addition, my two dogs ALWAYS bark at strangers. But they hardly barked at the movers because BOTH movers were so quiet and courteous of my pups. I had a huge dog crate outside on patio where my dogs were that I needed them to move so I told them I would get it and bring it inside for them because of my crazy dogs. They INSISTED they would do it no problem and that they are dog friendly. My little dog started barking but the movers were so calm and proceeded to take the crate and ignore the dogs (which the BEST thing to do when dogs are scared of you). I was astonished at how the movers were around my animals. Every stranger, maintenance person, service fixer, etc that has ever met my dogs has been very scared which only makes the dogs more scared. This truly meant so much to me because my animals are my world and it's just me & them. HUGE THANK YOU TO ALI & MERGEN for giving me such a phenomenal experience. In 6 months when I move again I will be using this company again without hesitation. There is no comparison to their efforts, generosity, friendliness, and politeness compared to any other moving company I have used before. I hired them to move a house a few weeks ago. Overall good value for movers, they moved everything, but a few things I didn't like and I want to highlight it: - they broke a plate of a decorative water fountain and a lampshade. Didn't even say sorry about it - just today a few weeks later I discovered that they didn't fully assembled a drawer chest. I found it in a bad way: my one year old baby tried to open it and a drawer almost fell on him. More than that, I found that a carpet around the drawer was littered by screws that should have been used to assemble it. I'm extremely lucky that my baby didn't eat those! That's a big miss in communication, they could have warned that they are having troubles assembling and that some screws went missing, they knew we have a baby and they met him! read more

The follow up of the mgrs of this company is very prompt. From scheduling of the move to day of. The crew was kind and responsive to our needs. Yes it was expensive but they were efficient. They were on time and positive. Our moving did take 12 hours so I should have asked for more manpower. We had 2 dozen plates break in transit and a couple of nicks on our newly painted hallway wall but we can use touch up paint to fix and they were apologetic. read more

Still waiting on a callback from a voice-mail I left over a week ago. The promised money? Don't be fooled, the manager is not stating correct rates and I'm certain is very aware of this. Drive time is double regular rate, although I paid cash which is cheaper than the regular rate which is why I said 150x2. Truth is I signed a contract for an 0800-0830 arrival time and it didn't happen, it caused extra stress and money out of my pocket. The crew without me asking changed the drive time to 1 hour(I did not tell them they were late they just knew I was waiting for them for an extended period of time and I have no idea what time they actually left from the first location after I took off or which route they took), which is still 25 min more than the drive time that would have happened at the original time promised and contracted for. This is also not considering that taking time off of the drive does not decrease overall time, just changes that time from double to regular rate. The company called after my review about 5 times over ten minutes while I was busy. I called back left a message and nothing so far. That's great the manager left a note on my yelp review telling me incorrect information about rates and offering a less than amount that would have been better than nothing but no progress has been made since. This review is for Liam and Sergey. These two guys helped us move our stuff from an apt on 5th with elevator access to a house with a flight of 32 stairs. They made a really tough job look really easy. We started looking for movers just a week before the moving day but were lucky to have found their availability. They arrived and started on time, and were super smooth. They took minimal breaks and let us know before taking the breaks. They were polite and followed instructions for unloading. We had marked the boxes with the rooms they were supposed to go in and also directed them, and they unloaded exactly how we wanted. Hello, Gulia. As I told you multiple times and will reiterate here: the only folks who had access to these trinket boxes and jewelry were me and these four men. No one else. I have filed a police report. I am debating a small claims suit, but really just want to make certain that this does not happen to anyone else, and your company has wasted far too much of my time. Like the mirror that your mover damaged, I doubt I will see any of these items again. I was extremely kind about that mirror because I believed that your employees did not intend this damage--they were just careless. Same with the chair. After weeks of your company setting up appointments and not showing up to pick up the stained chair, I had it cleaned myself. Your employees wasted my time multiple, multiple times, and you never even offered to pay for the cleaning. Is this an example of your "professionalism"? Even Lonie and Jonny failed in their attempts to make this right. You were 100% unaware of the mirror and the chair for those weeks, by the way--is that the sort of "professionalism" you are speaking about? You only became involved because I insisted on speaking to a manager. I also notice you say nothing about returning the tip money? You were the one who suggested I ask Alim for the money back. When I did, both of you cut off contact. Why did you suggest this when you knew how you were going to respond? Your "professional" crew left cigarette butts all over the driveway of my old house that I had to pick up. I bought milkshakes for all four of these men because of the hot day. One of the them spilled it on my new driveway and did not say anything. It baked in the sun and I had to waste lot of water cleaning it off. More "professionalism"? I am defaming no one. What do YOU think happened to this jewelry? By all means: tell me your theory. It was in my former home, which was packed up by your company, and never arrived to my new home. I lived in an isolated house in the mountains. There was no one around. I moved to a neighborhood with many people around. But an entire moving box did not disappear or was stolen, just two small trinket boxes full of jewelry. Kindly explain how that happened. The mirror and the chair were one thing, the jewelry and the boxes are something else entirely. You did not make the damages right, at all. And you could have. You cannot make the loss right unless the articles are returned. Pay for the cleaning of the chair your men damaged, and return the tips. That is what I would do in your position. I had a seamless move with Alex, Andrei, and George. Not only was I able to book them on short notice during peak season (moved end of May), but also the final cost was lower than their estimate! I had quotes from other companies estimating about 5-6 hours of labor but they estimated 2hr45 mins and finished in 2hr30 mins. They are efficient, hard-working, and extremely professional every step of the way including providing a certificate of insurance to my strict HOA within 1 hour of my request, texting updates from inventory updates, to day of ETA.
