Just moved from San Francisco to Palm Springs and these guys did a great job. The packing and moving crew was really on top of things - they took great care wrapping up and packing everything I didn't get to, and despite pouring rain everything got to the desert dry as could be. The office did a pretty good job with estimates and scheduling, but I wish an on site visit had happened since we ended up needing an additional truck to make it happen. I appreciated her willingness to fix this and open to the feedback I had with my experience. ---------------------------------------------- I expected the moving quality to be great, based on so many quality reviews, but it has been a very frustrating experience. Our mattress was damaged by the move, and working with their claims processing was also very frustrating. I stated on multiple occasions that no one ever explained to me that there was more than one protection plan and that I had the option to purchase full coverage. $0.60/lb for my damaged mattress is hardly enough to replace a mattress that is now lumpy and painful to sleep on. The mattress was in fine condition prior to the move but the movers kept insisting that the lumps were normal wear and tear and they did nothing wrong. You can now feel the coils poking at you when you lay on it. There were also many items that I asked them not to pack, because they were junk, but somehow ended up in the boxes. I really wanted to give them a chance, but it's been extremely frustrating. read more

Wow, what a load of stress this has taken off for me. I contacted dependable movers Thursday & was in desperate need of an emergency vacant. I think 1,200$ for a full 1000sq apartment is a good value. I even had to make some adjustments with the location points, thought this would've been a hassle but nope, they team knew every detail. I appreciate they wanted to view both areas to ensure if they were going to have any trouble. This company also offered full white glove service & could box all your items for you as well. I chose to box up as much as I could, as I only had one day to complete this. No problems. Team arrived & immediately got right to work! No lollygagging & in 90 degree weather at that. They even made boxes by hand for precious items like my tv & other things. They left no mess, no wall scuffs, & were extremely diligent about my personal belongings. Dropping off my items, they team even offered to help unbox, or just group together boxes in designated rooms. It took me 3 days to move in a 2 bedroom apartment & it took them 3/4 hours loading in & unloading. WOW! Absolutely amazing! Thank you so much to Aj & his team (Buyan, Zhanat, Nurbek). I really can't speak highly enough about this company and its employees. In an era where customer service and thoughtfulness seem too often assigned to the trash heap, this outfit knows how it important those traits are for satisfaction and loyalty. They scheduled our move back from their storage facility on a Sunday at no additional cost. They gave an accurate estimate of the time needed to complete the move. They gave cash discounts. They were extremely thoughtful and careful moving boxes and furniture into our newly renovated house. They did not knick a single wall or scratch a single floor. They covered the bannisters in moving cloths and did everything they could to ensure that our stuff and our house was undamaged. On the move out they disassembled furniture and on the move back they reassembled it and all the parts and screws were there! The team was very courteous and efficient. They placed everything where we asked without hesitation. I honestly hope I will never need them again (let's face it, moving sucks), but if I do, I will DEFINITELY use them again. read more

This is was AMAZING! This was no easy move, we had three different drop off locations and a warehouse full of stuff. 30 min before the move they called and texted to let me know their time of arrival. They were very chipper and polite which started the morning of great! At 9am I was greeted by Ali who is the leader of the team, he was my main point of contact and liaison between both his crew and I. He took his time to guide me through the moving process and made it way more efficient than I would ever think. His full team Ali, Alis, Jasur, and Bain was so friendly and took care of everything including the packing and wrapping of all my items. The team is so kind and made the moving process seamless and not to mention FAST for 3 drop off locations. They also came prepared with boxes, tape, covers, and extra dolly's. A all around great group of professionals. They even individually wrapped my plates, bowls, and cups. Their attention to detail was impeccable and all of my items arrived in the same condition. Not to mention every step of the way Ali called me to update me on the status of of sorting, packing, and drop offs at different locations. This was suppose to be over 12 hour job and the team was able to get it done in 8 hours. They even took pictures of all the items on my moving list to make sure they collected everything while I was running around the city. I think we only did two walk thru of the huge warehouse and he was able to remember every note and items requested to be taken. At the 2 other drop off locations they were met by my colleagues and was so polite and gentle with the furniture when taking them down a couple flights of stairs. My teams even followed up with me to raved about how efficient and nice the moving team was and even sent me pictures of how neatly they placed our furniture. This was probably the easiest move I've done ever. This team was responsive, professional, fast, and the rates are hard to beat especially for a team of 4. This was my second move with DM and I had another fantastic experience! There are lots of stressors on moving day -- you worry that things aren't packed well or labeled correctly, you worry that boxes might fall and things might break, you worry that you won't have the tools, strength or stamina to dismantle/setup all the things, you worry your movers will take their sweet time moving. No. Our moving team, Oleg, Georgii and Sergei made any of our worries melt away immediately. These guys are a great team. They work really well together and I feel so lucky to have had their help!! They are strong, experienced and fast and went the extra mile to ensure everything was packed safely, securely and with care. NOTHING was broken upon arrival to our new home, and we had a LOT of stuff including large fragile plants, tvs and monitors, glassware, large mirrors and media equipment. Movers were very nice but not the fastest. I'll let the numbers speak - moved out from 1 room in a shared apartment to a 450 sqft studio. Elevators in both apartment complexes. 4.5 hours and $1000+ total bill. Friend did the exact same move (plus her destination was a walk up) and got it done in 2.5 hours. Her move cost $500 with Perez Movers. Dependable is probably going to reply to this and say there was a long walk, elevators were slow and not reserved etc etc. Fine, but just know if you're considering a similar move be ready to shell out $1000+. read more

Tricky company. Slow, tired movers. The initial quote seem to be cheaper than others but we end up paying for over 7 hours of moving and $1700 Our family was moving within 3 miles from a 2 bedroom apartment to our new place in town. We paid $89 deposit over an estimate they provided by a link and decided to hire dependable movers because of the good reviews on Yelp and also they seem to have a very advanced online inquiry system. Our questions was answered timely and they seem to know what they are talking about. We were initially quoted with 2 movers $146/hour for 3-5 hours plus a $189 equipment fee for our move. Then after we paid deposit and completed a inventory count they changed our estimate to 3 movers $189/hour for 3-5 hours stating with the inventory we submitted, to avoid 2 movers being burnt out and moving time prolonged significantly they have bumped up our estimate. It seem to make sense at that time so we agreed. Also we didn't know what was going to happen to our deposit if we didn't agree. We had a appointment to move for 9/22 at 9am, the dependable movers truck showed up at 9:15 and one of the mover immediately begin discussing payment and rate with us, which was very strange since it was already decided and we signed a contract and paid deposit 2 weeks ahead of time. The three movers appears to be in their mid 40s and seem to be very unorganized and NO HUSSLE AT ALL. In the first hour, they were able to move 60% of the item and then too tired for the rest of the job. It took them 6 more hours to move the rest of 40% and taking their time to chat by the truck. Very disappointed experience. Some items was also damaged during the move. read more

Some context: I was living in San Francisco, on a 7th floor of an apartment building. I needed to move everything to Hayward. To start off with, the company is great at keeping in contact with you regarding all your moving needs. Too great, that I was too busy myself and unable to answer a lot of their calls, but they we're awesome in making sure everything my on my invoice and all the things I needed were there. Nothing too hard in the fine print I had Bal & Dimitri as my movers for a 2 crew job, 1 truck. They were super nice and very quick & efficient. They kept all my furniture safe & did the move in a timely manner! They wrap up your stuff in blankets and plastic wrap, if you have smaller things to move they put everything in boxes for you and wrap them in plastic for safety too. Very disrespectful towards neighbors. They parked their truck in fron t of my house all day. I did not say anything. I finally went out late afternoon to in form them that they had to move because my son was coming home soon and needed to park in my driveway. The mover told me it was a "public street and that anyone could park anywhere". We ended up arguing until the person that hired them came out and told me in a dismissive way that they'd move the truck. I really wanted to be able to say I had a good experience moving from the Inner Richmond to the Castro. On the front end of things, they're very helpful and responsive. Once move day came, I had to watch my things out the window as they were moved out of my apartment and left unattended on the truck platform on the ground while the movers came upstairs to get more boxes. They were advised twice to be extra careful with my plants and to move them by hand, not with the hand truck. They did the latter and ended up ruining two of my plants which they gave me a $50 credit for (the 2 pots alone totaled more than $60). They tried to blame it on the box not being properly taped and I told them I thought it was their responsibility as movers to protect my things, and they had been asked twice to handle the plants very carefully, as well as treating everything else like it's fragile. While their truck was parked outside it was given a ticket for being there for over 2 hours. I'm unsure if the contract puts that responsibility on me or not but the movers seemed like they had no idea of SF parking rules when the ticket was issued. I was understanding about the plants but when we got to my new place they left one of my $150 speakers on the ground, unattended outside the truck. Someone tried to walk off with it and one of my new neighbors chased them down and retrieved it for me, and then yelled at the movers for their incompetence. I was understanding about the plants, things happen, but when they left my speaker unattended to get stolen I was upset. Additionally, one of my lampshades was crushed. I messaged the front-end person I'd been working with to tell them about the experience I'd had and he said he would put me in touch with a supervisor who called me the next day. She apologized and said the movers would receive more training. When I told her about what had all happened, the cost I'd incurred to fix broken things, and that I almost lost my speaker, she informed me that normally the parking ticket would have been charged to me and that they'd taken care of it to make up for my experience. I was left feeling bewildered by the lack of professionalism and her acting like she was doing me a favor by covering the parking ticket and not trying to further compensate for the damaged items or the rough experience. Not only that, she then tried to upsell me by asking if I wanted help unpacking my boxes. This was not a cheap move for going across town where I had already boxed all my own things. I see my movers named in another 5-star review and I wish I had a similar experience, but I can't recommend this company based on the overall experience I had. read more
