The bagels are so soft inside and crunchy outside, had pesto, spinach, tomato & egg in mine, tasty and healthy balance. Great local coffee and the best part is that they have a small fridge with creamers, different milk options, and whip cream so you can prepare your coffee. I had a hankering for a bagel and smear as well as some protein. My amazing husband was able to find this little gem on yelp that we didn't even know was bear by. Glad we did! I ordered the Sonoran on a garlic bagel with garlic cream cheese as well as a chai tea. Compared to my favorite muffin (our usual go to), it was hands down better. This sandwich contained chorizo, egg, spinach and cheese. And the egg was fresh cooked. The service was great, it got real busy when we first sat down but they got customers out fast. I have not been here for years and years when Daily Bagel first opened. My favorite go out to get breakfast friend suggested we give this a try. So on a beautiful fall morning we made the hike over to Morrill and 5th from downtown. It was worth the hike. We decided to split the Frontier Breakfast sandwich sans cheese, with bacon, on an everything bagel. She had a HUGE cup of iced tea, I had a LARGE cup of iced chai latte with whole milk. We snagged a nice table outside and after a short wait got our drinks, and after a short wait later, got our sandwich split in half for sharing with lots of extra napkins. The inside space is quite small, but there is inside eating and lots of patio space outside. Staff were friendly and service was timely considering the number of people ordering and picking up. The sandwich was good. The bagel was fresh and tasty (my native NYC friend deemed it 'good') and the ingredients were good and also fresh. No complaints on the food. My chai latte was one of he best I have had anyway. A nice blend of sweet and spice. I may try a coffee next time as I am a fan of Blind Dog Roasters. Yep, I definitely will come back. read more

Desert Sun Bagel is okay. I ordered the desert sunrise on an everything bagel (listed at 6.95) but I requested no meat and to substitute avocado. The gal charged me for an egg and cheese bagel and added avocado (5.95 plus 2.50) which makes no sense because meat is more expensive than avocado but whatever... I also ordered a hash brown because I was super happy they have those here. My husband ordered a regular desert sunrise with ham and a hash brown. Our food comes out fairly quickly. We go sit down and open the bag, there is a long hair sticking out of the hash brown bag. The hash brown is super soggy, not crispy at all. The avocado, is actually an avocado spread which is not that great. We came, we ate and both decided we won't be back. Desert Sun took over in the same location that Daily Bagel was located at at the corner of 5th and Morrill with 1/2 the ownership team of Daily Bagel. Much of the menu is the same with new names and prices. They also reopened the dining area again and are serving inside rather than from the window outside. However, the walls are pretty bare inside and their are tables and chairs but nothing is set up just yet. It is likely due to COVID for the tables and chairs and I would like to think the decor will come as business does well. The bagels and sandwiches are pretty close to the same as they were with Daily Bagel but just slightly smaller it seemed and a little chewier but I have to imagine it is due to training. They were pretty close and it is hard to mess up a bagel I imagine. I ordered a simple bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich and it was good and checked the box. It felt familiar to the sandwich I was used to over the past when going to Daily Bagel. The reason for the three stars comes from the price at Desert Sun. The sandwich is now a dollar more than it was and while it is good, it is still wild to spend $8 on the most simple bagel sandwich. It would be nice to have the simple sandwich at a lesser price and the more creative sandwiches being the more expensive. Plus $3 for coffee is more than even Starbucks. I will be back since it is at a super convenient location to my work but with the costs, it will be more of a special treat purchase than a daily/weekly breakfast option. read more

My husband Ruben just had knee replacement/revision surgery with Dr Ringnes after suffering for 4+ years with a failed knee replacement that was done at Chico Orthopedics. He went back to them several times,saw different Drs about the same problem, only to be told repeatedly that everything was fine and looked good. Dr Ringnes saw him, did some tests, images and found the problem quite quickly! The way they prepared him prior to surgery, during surgery and after, was amazing!!! Every single staff member that we had contact with was helpful, informative and knowledgeable. They answered questions, were compassionate, were honest and even funny at times. After surgery and an overnight stay at hospital, we drove back to Chico to recoup at home. When we had questions or concerns, his staff responded so quickly, we were never left wondering for long. If you need surgery, we highly recommend visiting Tahoe Forest Orthopedics. 10 out of 10 would use them again if the need arises. read more
