    WELCOME to Desert's Coffee Shop. #bnw #photography

Coffee. Smile. Laugh. Repeat. Let's begin this new coffee adventure. Yasss! I'm the 7th Reviewer! Desert's C.S. (est 2025) is a brand new charming and cozy coffee shop that offer coffee/tea drinks, pastry and smoothie. This coffee shop is named after the owner's daughter. Just a trivia for you. The shop has an open space and natural light which make their blue and white checkered floor stand out. Similarly, their atmosphere is very relaxing that makes every coffee/tea sip enjoyable. Desert's menu items are straight forward even a first time drinker won't have trouble deciphering it. Haha! I drove by early in the morning and was perfunctorily greeted by a male barista. I had a hot classic Latte. It's good and does its job. Service was spot on. Staff was affable and competent. No Parking lot but plenty of street metered parking. Collectively, this is a nice coffee shop and I like that this area had another coffee shop. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed my latte. I recommend them.

My dog showing off the beautiful, clean floors.

What a great new spot for us locals! Very cute. Perfect latte, delicious egg sandwich and the woman who waited on me was lovely. I asked her if it would be possible to come in with my dog for a to go order since I'm training her. She could not have been nicer about.

I was wondering what would replace what used to be the Fix on Hyperion, so I knew I had to try Desert's Coffee Shop once it opened.

The matcha lavender latte is the star of the show. It's beautifully balanced: earthy matcha, a gentle floral note from the lavender, and just enough sweetness to tie everything together. It's the kind of drink you think about later in the day and wish you had another. And then there's the chocolate cake . The small ugly one that comes in a mini loaf, it was rich, moist, and deeply chocolatey without being overly heavy. It pairs perfectly with their drinks and feels like a little reward every time you order it.

And it happened again, popping in spontaneously and not getting disappointed. Wonderful coffee, and…read moredelicious pastries, allowing for a relaxed outdoor coffee break. PREVIOUS REVIEW2 It's been a while since I've been here the previous time. In addition to being very nice last time (except for the logistics of ordering and the non-functioning power outlets), the please remains a peaceful oasis and the ordering process has improved since. Most importantly, the coffee remains delicious, and the tomato basil tart was a wonderful quick lunch followed by a multi berry muffin. PREVIOUS REVIEW1 Cute little place in Atwater Village!! So cute with peaceful, relaxing and quiet atmosphere (inside/outside) that I thought I could get some work done (free WiFi). The concept is a bit confusing: There are a bunch of "menu items" such as sandwiches and wraps etc, but while they are listed on a big board behind the counter, you have to actually grab them premade/prepacked from a fridge ... The Vegan Smokey BBQ Wrap was very good except for the short and transient moment when I opened the container, but after all it was actually fresh, juicy and had a great flavor mix. The Mex Mocha with Almond milk (alternatives are available) was delicious, and I paired it with a GF Orange Chia Bread Loaf. PS: I'm neither Vegan nor GF fanatic... What really defied the purpose of coming here was the non-working power outlets, and the manager not taking care of it. My laptop unfortunately does not have a TESLA battery and hence I did not last for 2 hours... PS: I neither have a TESLA nor a Prius either ... Tip: Parking on this side of the street can be tough, look on the other side ...

I'm also not sure if Wynd is part of it as well (they were located on Virgil but moved elsewhere in the Arts District), but I did notice there was some sort of pop-up happening here too. I really love the location it's in, it's sort of hidden, and you might actually miss it if you're not looking for it. You park in the lot adjacent to it, and there's a sign that leads you to walk in. It really does feel like an oasis, like some people have described, tucked away from everything. Anyways, the coffee is amazing. The attention to detail these coffee shops put into everything is the cherry on top of it all. I'm a simple gal with my iced lattes with whole milk and no sweetener, and this place just knows how to get the ratio right, smooth, balanced, and not overpowering at all. Aside from it all, this location is definitely promising and I can see a lot of other businesses flourishing here. The vibe is so Zen.

I've stopped by a handful of times, and every visit has been great. Their drinks are consistently well-made, whether it's the cold brew or the iced matcha with cold foam. They are on the pricier side (the Costa Rica SIL Honey Geisha cold brew is $11), but the quality matches the cost. The staff are welcoming, the wait isn't bad and while there's no indoor seating, there plenty of space outside. Bonus: free parking in their lot!

Unfortunately, the experience has been consistently disappointing. Walking into a coffee shop should feel welcoming. Instead, most visits feel cold and uncomfortable. There is rarely a hello, welcome, smile, or thank you from the staff. The overall attitude often feels bothered or uninterested, almost like customers are an inconvenience rather than appreciated guests. The coffee itself is decent at times, inconsistent at others, but customer service is what keeps people coming back. I truly hope the owner and management take this feedback seriously and focus on creating a more welcoming environment. A simple greeting, smile, and positive attitude go a long way. There are many coffee shops people can choose from, and feeling appreciated matters just as much as the product itself. I wanted to support this business, but after many visits and the same experience over and over again, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

My friend got a croissant that she said was perfect. I got some almond pastry that I can't remember the name of that I didn't think I'd like too much (wanted to take a chance anyways) and the miso chocolate cake. Almond pastry was divine. Not too sweet or dense and a little moist. The miso chocolate cake is a deep and rich chocolate with a unique depth from the miso. My immigrant parents loved it because it also wasn't too sweet (although I wouldn't have complained if it was lol). Totally worth the short wait in line (despite some rude people cutting in line) and I'd come back ANY time to try more! Also lovely it's a worker owned co-op.
