My husband and I absolutely loved this restaurant! The food, atmosphere, service, drinks, and music were all fantastic! Although we sat in a secluded back corner, our waitress checked in with us often and was always quick to bring anything we needed. Our waitress was also helpful in choosing cocktails and food. She had really great insight about both menus. We ordered, and split, the Turkey Parmesan sandwich and the Spicy Chicken Wrap. Both were delicious, came with a good amount of fries, and were filling without being heavy. We had the toffee cake for dessert, and it was fantastic! So came here because my husband heard the piano player play. We came waited for a table because you can't just put your name in.,. The food was dull and bland tried salt and pepper then tabasco. This bawdy "whore house" themed bar in the historic Statler Hotel features servers in fishnets and garters and music seven nights a week. We were here for a fun and serviceable bluegrass band, but in the summer you'll find honky tonk and sldie piano. In any other location, this would be a schlocky prodcuction (Those of you old enough, think Shakey's pizza) But in this old hotel , it works well. Garters and corsets amid the aged mill work makes sense. The drinks are stout and resonable, the atmosphere tranportative and fun. The Diamond Bell is a fun restaurant with great food and entertainment and it won't break the bank. The servers are dressed as saloon girls but are respectable even for kids. The food selections are good and it is served hot. Happy hour is a bonus. Getting in might be a wait during busy times in peak season and there is an option to sit at the bar. And there is an option next door in the Office. We would recommend the Diamond Bell! read more

We waited an hour for our food, which was ok. I don't know if we had a new waitress or what. Other people that came in after us was served before us. Great, friendly service made the breakfast here even more delightful. What a fun experience! We ordered the biscuits and gravy which can be hit or miss but Diamond Belle really hit it out of the park. It arrived hot and the gravy had tons of sausage and pepper flavor to it. The biscuits were still moist and had a nice crust and were not in the least bit soggy. At only $7.50 this was a value that can not be beat! Located inside of the Strater, this one-of-a-kind Western throwback is something you must experience. We were staying at the hotel so we popped in out of convenience and ended up coming every night for the live music and tasty beverages. Shoutout to Wade for making our first night sensational with great service, attention to detail and connecting with us as more than visitors. I am still not sure if I visited a tourist trap or a genuine saloon. There was a mix of locals and tourists, there were barmaids dressed as saloon gogo girls and a cowboy with gofast sunglasses playing acustic guitar and singin western tunes. The service was ok, the food was ok (I had babyback ribs) and the drinks and beer was quite ok. So, for an ok semi tourist place, its ok. read more

Went here today and had the nachos, salmon pasta and chicken pot pie. The nachos seemed like it came out of a can with the jalapenos and cheese. The pasta was pretty okay and same with the chicken pot pie. Wasn't terrible but not worth the money in my opinion. read more

Y'all! This saloon is in the Strater Hotel. The servers dress in period costume and a piano player plays ragtime music. We thoroughly enjoyed having a couple of drinks there. You should at least stop in for one drink while you're in Durango. read more

We loved the Diamond Belle Saloon at the historic Strater Hotel in beautiful Durango, Colorado . Louis L'Amour stayed in the Strater, in the room above this saloon. He said the music and noise from the bar aided in his writing if his famous cowboy novels. The drinks are reasonable, the waitress' are very friendly and in Old West 'fancy lady' costumes and the food is quite good! The hamburgers are huge, the steaks very tender and tasty. read more

As guests of The Strater host hotel we initially came thru the inside entrance but had to go outside to street entrance to get listed for a table. The ambience was great! It has a fun time saloon feel because of the costumes worn by the workers: barkeep, waitress, and the decor, too. The food was good, and served in generous portions. The waitress was overworked. When the place filled up, it was hard to get her attention when we were ready to order, but overall, she was good and worked hard for us. I paid 28 dollars for shrimp scampi... the shrimp was Overcooked and the noodles were cold. The shrimp were the small ones you don't use in shrimp scampi. For 28 bucks I expected the big ones. My husbands pot roast was watery. The waitress Ashley was nice and the environment was pleasant but the food was awful. I also ordered the soup which was lukewarm as well. When in Durango you have to stop into the Diamond Belle Saloon. They have lively piano music players and guitarists usually in cowboy hats singing and playing music nightly. A variety of artists play there. There's an old time bar and you can get whiskeys if that's what you are into as well as other things. They also serve food such as burgers and fries, etc. The bar maids dress in old time costumes and I think on Mon, Wed & Fri in the summer they do a reenactment of an old west shoot out. Top notch service with fantastic cocktails in a very early 1900's setting. This place delivered on all aspects. Evan was an amazing bartender and the pianist made the night that much better. Great food and a great gunfight show on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm. Expect to wait at least 1 hour (in July) for a table if you have more than 4 in your party. Arrived at 5:45pm and seated at 6:50pm. Piano playing (old rag time) was superb. We sat upstairs which was a little hot and uncomfortable (would deduct half a star if I could). Had the gorgonzola mac and cheese, Diamond burger, and pot pie. All great and a bargain considering the piano and gunfight show. If you would like, you can catch a horse carriage ride right outside of the Strater hotel after dinner. About $10 per adult and $5 per kid. Highly recommend this or the stagecoach ride that is around 9th and Main. read more

+1 star for the food. +1 star for an attempt to make things right. -3 stars for screwing up literally everything else (including the attempt to make it right!). Walked in. Get ignored by the bartender. Not just "didn't see you" ignored, but straight up made eye contact TWICE, and no acknowledgment whatsoever. We go and sit down at a table. Two guys come in after us, obviously locals. Get a warm greeting from the same bartender. Uhhh... okay. Waitress shows up and asks for our drink order. We order soft drinks and inquire about a menu. She says kitchen doesn't open for another 25 minutes. No worries, we obviously must have missed the sign. But she just discounts the possibility that we might want to peruse the menu until the kitchen opens and walks away. Another lady walks in 5 or so minutes after us, and steals a menu from the bar while we look at the menu on our phones. Ordering time arrives. We order our food without incident. I get told 10 minutes after we place our order that the kitchen is out of bison meat. Not sure why it took 10 minutes after I ordered for them to discover that, but okay. Not a big deal. Some time thereafter, the food arrives. The pasta primavera we ordered is lukewarm, but DELICIOUS. My burger is sitting sad, shriveled, and dry on its bun. The carmelized onions I ordered are just raw onions. The sauce I ordered is nowhere to be found. Okay so we're kind of annoyed, but it's all forgivable at this point. I don't usually sweat the small stuff. But it BECOMES annoying because I patiently wait as our waitress decides to flirt with the bartender instead of checking on us or how our food is. She was waiting on literally 2 tables. Rather, NOT waiting on 2 tables. My girlfriend was half done with her pasta before she got irritated to the point of getting up and walking over to the waitress to get her to get the sauce for my burger. Waitress comes back to the table, apologizes for the error, and offers us a free dessert for the mix up (and, I assume, the crap service). She makes sure our drinks never runneth dry for the rest of the evening. Comes time to order dessert. Order what is essentially a brownie sundae. The dessert arrives. The ice cream on top is delicious. The brownie is lukewarm, and I literally could not break off a piece of brownie without chiseling at it with my spoon. I even used a knife in an attempt to cut the brownie, and the downward force I applied with the knife ended up breaking a chunk off the brownie that went careening across our table. We actually couldn't stop laughing at how ludicrous it was. The waitress began walking to our table, saw my vain attempts to chip away at the brownie, and promptly walked the opposite direction. She returned with the check and a punch card that said essentially after 10 visits, you get $10 dollars off your next visit. All of the tabs had been punched. Didn't do me much good, as we were leaving town the next morning *and* we don't plan on coming back to this restaurant next time we're in town. I *never* want freebies or to be comped. I just want stuff to be right the first time. I genuinely don't try to complain or give crap reviews just because things aren't perfect. Life is never perfect. But good LORD was this an awful experience. I'm glad we found humor in chiseling at the brownie otherwise I would have been uncharacteristically hostile that evening. read more

The food was ok. But the highlight of this place is the live ragtime piano player named Adam Swanson. Seriously the best piano player I've seen live. I can not believe he plays in a hotel bar in Durango. If you're in town and he is playing. I would highly recommend stopping in and getting a drink and enjoying the music read more

We grabbed dinner here after it being recommended by others, the convenience of it being in our hotel, and them having a kids menu. The ambiance was very unique and the service was great. The food is what was an issue. We ordered the chicken marsala, French dip, and kids chicken tenders with fries. Honestly - the kids food was far better than either of our dishes. The French dip was dry, fatty, and lacked seasoning. The chicken Marsala lacked flavor and the meat also was dry. These meals were definitely not cheap and we were very disappointed with how much money we spent on meals we simply didn't like. Fortunately, our kiddo had good food. So maybe they just have good drinks and bar food? The 2 stars are literally only because of the service and interesting environment. read more

I love the Diamond Belle for drinks! Yes, it may be touristy sometimes and kitschy, but it's the novelty of it that I love. From the old time piano, to the waitresses in their corsets and fringe, to the look of a wild west saloon, this place has it in spades. They make pretty good, strong drinks too. read more
