I don't consider myself a nail salon snob but this place sets the standard for a gal like me. You see, I'm very much the 'I'll get my (toe)nails done when I have the time" type girl as pedi time is a luxury time that I don't get very often. So when I do get it done, I want it done right (and cheap). The girls don't judge when I come in with my shoddy at home pedi job. They have plenty of new magazines to keep me occupied before/during/after my pedi. And there's great selection of OPI and Essie polishes against the wall. I don't like having the massage lotion on my legs and the girls are willing to oblige when I let them know in advance that I don't want it. One gal, Linda, did my toes when I was preg and when I came in post-preg, she remembered me and asked about my son. They take credit card (woot!) but cash is always welcomed. They have a lot of color choices available including OPI which is always my favorite because it's long lasting. My two friends and I decided we all wanted mani-pedi treatments, and the place took us with only calling ahead by ten minutes. They did a great job on my calloused heels, and we each got nice designs on our toes as well. The price was very reasonable.. My only gripes were that (1) No fun pedicure massage chairs (usually one of my fav parts), and (2) the foot/leg massages were kinda missing something compared to others. Update: Gripe #3-- my manicure polish was unimpressive... It cracked and flaked very easily. My friend's polish was 'sticky' from the start. I might be convinced to go for another pedi, but I think I'd pass on the mani in the future. read more

I Do NOT recommend this place. Was gonna go to crystals nail but unfortunately they don't open on Sunday. Found this place on yelp and thought we'll give it a try. Pedi and mani for $22 which is $3 cheaper than crystal and read the review knowing there's no massage chair, that's fine, for this price we won't expect too much. It was about 80 degree, and no AC... I really didn't want to do it but my bf is desperate to get his nails cut... The office chair they have for the customers to sit in to get your nails done are the most uncomfortable chair I've ever sat in. -_- and the little stool the ladies work there sat in with a "T" bar at the front that for you to put your feet on was so wabbly and uncomfortable too. Anyway... The worst was yet to come... My finger nail was cut uneven, I had to point it out to have her fix it. Ok move on... My nail polish job was the worst I've ever got! I'm not talking about uneven nail polish, I'm talking about the nail polish all over the place on my skin instead of nail, and she fix it all by using her nail to scrap it off and made a even worse mess cuz now I have smudge... And I kep hoping she's gonna fix it al the end with brush... Nope! She just said "ok we are done" and I was looking at my nail and thinking I am not walking out the here with all busted polish that I can do better at home myself. I asked her to fix it, I don't know if we are talking about bad eye sight or she thinks that polish job is acceptable, I had to point out everywhere I have the polish on where we shouldn't have polish on. At the end it's just so frustrating that we were there for almost 2 hours and I just gave up and don't want my bf to sat there while I ask them to fix something that I have serious doubt they can even fix it at that point. And the Vietnamese ladies were yelling across the room to each other about me asking her to use brush to fix, I don't understand Vietnamese but from the words they used in English mixed in the sentence and they way they look at you, you know they are talking about you. And I thought maybe I am too much of a perfectionist but even my bf who always happy just to get his nails cut was telling me afterwards that the girl doing his nail was not really good at all... Well, I guess we'll be good and make appointments to go to crystals on Saturdays from now on. And my nail polish is already chip here and there just the next day. My nail polish was still perfect after almost two weeks last time I got my nails done at crystals which I was really impressed. Anyway, the only thing ok bout this place is that they take credit card with a $10 minimum so you don't have to worry about getting cash. They have a small parking lot on the side of the building, and I was able to park there easily on a Sunday afternoon. I walked I without an appointment, and they were able to get me into a pedicure chair in about five minutes. The salon is a little older looking but near and clean. The pedicure chairs are nice, and everything was clean and sanitary. I had a basic pedicure, but it was really good. I was happy with the service and the way my toes looked at the end. Best of all, it was very affordable at $20. In really happy with my experience, and I will go here again. read more

These women are so sweet. Very warm, funny, and have a great time with each other, treating one another like family. The owner, Diane, is super funny and kind. I enjoyed being in their presence. That said, this is not the place to go if you're into ambiance (snob alert: I kind of am). This salon looks like what all nail salons looked like before nails became a "thing". It's older and not really decorated. The massage chairs are basic, although they get the job done. The polish selection is relatively limited, although they do have a few great colors. Cindy did my pedicure and it was great. She did a magnificent job in terms of neatness and the polish looks wonderful. She also did an incredible leg/foot massage I would gladly have paid more for (surprisingly, she didn't ask, and furthermore, no one tried to upsell me my entire visit, not once). Linda did my manicure and it looks nice. Her massage wasn't as thorough as Cindy's and a two of my nails could have been painted a little neater but even as a nail snob I have no real complaints. She was super nice. They were cheap ($25 for spa mani/pedi) and good so I tipped 18%. They also take credit cards and you can put the tip on the card! This place isn't in my neck of the woods, but if I'm visiting my sister again and in need of a nail job, I'd definitely go back. read more

Adding to my last review. I came back today after about a month. They took me right away as a walk in. Everyone that was in the salon getting work done had been coming here for years, the nail techs were asking about their family members, etc. The atmosphere was very comfortable and sort of felt like a family. Linda did a fabulous pedicure and even fixed the crappy gel nail job I had just gotten at ULTA. She didn't charge me for repairing their shotty work! They all gave me advice and suggestions and really helped me out after a bad experience somewhere else. I've learned my lesson....I won't stray again! Dian Nails has earned two more stars! read more

I came here for the first time two years ago and had a great experience, so when I finally had another occasion where a manicure would be appropriate, I thought why not come here? I walked in for a manicure and was helped pretty quickly. I picked out a color (Flirt by Essie - this was an edgy choice for me :P) and was ready to roll. The lady doing my nails was pretty quiet, but I was pretty quiet, so it balanced out neatly. I was in and out within half an hour. Two days later, my color is already chipping. I am seriously starting to doubt the accuracy of Yelp.... I went to Dian nails as they had a pretty high rating on Yelp. I asked for a gel manicure and pedi. I was instructed to pick my color. Strike one was they did not have large number of gel colors to choose from. Next, the lady who was going to do my pedicure comes out with what I guess is technically a foot spa but just looked like a tub of water. She indicates this is for my pedicure. I tell her I want a spa pedicure, not the foot tub thing. She tells me if I wang the spa pedi, they can't do my pedi and mani at the same time. SERIOUSLY?!? So I just cancel the pedi and begin my manicure. They lady who did my pedicure was very thorough. However, it's day 5 and my nail Polish has started to chip. Ridiculous! We had an appointment at 5 pm... & it is now 7:14 pm & they have not yet started on my sisters fill. We are confused as to why they had told us to come in at 5 pm if they did not have time to do two fills & two pedi's! And also; they do not have much options on gels nor regular mani polish! This place was fabulous. Their color selection was large and the place was clean. The two ladies who did my manicure and pedicure were super friendly and nice. What more could you ask for...the mani & pedi was only $20 total! Amazing! I called ahead at lunch time and they took me no problem without an appt. They have parking on the side of the building. This is my first review on yelp because I thought I needed to share what a nice experience I had at this nail salon. The mani/pedi combo was $20 which I think is very reasonable. There isn't a big massage chair but a nice tub for your feet that vibrates, what you expect for a $20 pedicure, basically. But the massages are lovely and they take their time and are very attentive. The lady I had did a great job painting my nails, but they did smudge after I left so I don't know that they had me dry them long enough. Also they accept credit card and don't charge a convenience fee, which I really appreciated. read more

I went to Dian Nails for the first time today (Sunday) without an appointment. I waited about 10-15 for a mani-pedi, which is unbelievably priced at $22. I paid an extra $6 for callus removal on my feet. They spent about an hour on me! My feet and hands look amazing. They are really focused on details and making sure everything looks just right. I believe the owner did my nails and she inspected each one before she finished to make sure the polish was just right. I was extremely impressed with their service, loved the massages they gave, and my polish is perfection. They have the individual bowls for your feet with the plastic inside. I prefer this as it is more sanitary, but I know not everyone likes that. As another reviewer noted, the chairs are just regular chairs, which is fine by me, but I know others may not like it. There is easy parking on the side and they kept it nice and cool in there (which you don't always get in nail salons, but is very important to me on a hot day!). Overall, I'm very happy and will be back. I hope the polish lasts and I'll be curious to see if they are consistent, but I thought it was a fabulous deal and great people in the shop! read more

I am definitely a LOYAL fan a of Dian Nails. I recently moved closer to Altadena and Orange Grove and was looking for a place closer to my new location. A dear girlfriend and elite YELPER passed along this recommendation to me. I made an appointment that same day and have been LOYAL with them ever since! I had Dian do my mani and Lee her sister do my pedi..... the past few times since Lee wasn't there I have used Kelley who is amazing (btw, her stories are hiliarious). Dian and her crew definitely understand and embrace customer excellence. It is obvious she has a loyal following since she practically calls everyone by their first name. The service is timely (even for walk in's), staff is very cheery and professional- has a great attention to detail. I only say that because I'm a picky "mani girl" where I prefer when they use polish remover to do a final clean up around the color. It really makes your color on your hands POP! Another perk: FREE PARKING- there is a little lot next to them and you can typically always fine street parking too. Now the BEST part of the review... THE PRICE! Typically my mani and pedi used to cost me closer to $65 and higher..... At Dian Nails I get the mani and pedi for close to $28!!! Yes, you heard me right? The array of their nails services seem very very reasonable.... but I love how they don't discount you on their service! You get all the above and it won't break the bank! Went in for a mani/pedi after reading the good reviews and the $22 price. They sat me down quickly and brought the (bag covered) pedicure tub out. I was kind of disappointed when someone else sat down to do my nails at the same time so I was kind of sitting sideways with my body and twisting my top to put my hands on the table- not terribly relaxing- but I understand the need to move people in and out and make money. The girl who did my toes- I asked her name and I think she said Laurie- was fantastic. I watched in amazement as she quickly removed all of the dead skin around my cuticles and went over them several times. The polish application is perfect and nothing was pushed on me, I wasn't even asked if I wanted the callus treatment because clearly I didn't need it. My nails are a little less nice- this girl gave me constant compliments ("oh, your hair is so pretty") in between speaking vietnamese to her friends. I had brought my own just purchased OPI polish and she complained that the brush was bad- I assume to explain the lousy polish job- polish all over my cuticles and skin :( So now I know, just get pedicures and go to Laurie. read more

I went there 2 times and both times they made me wait more than half an hour then what my original appointment time was and they ask you to make an appointment and didn't even stick to the time they give you and then I asked for what kind of nails I wanted and they don't even provide ombre nails like they should have asked me what I wanted before so they wouldn't of made me wait so long I will never go back here again just to let you know if you're planning to come here plan to wait 45 minutes until being seen. The worst experience I've had ever! One of the ladies promised me a discount but when it came time for it to pay the bill there was no discount which is fine. The owner dian began arguing and yelling at me because I asked her about the discount. The owner/manager was very rude. So disappointed! This is the closest nail salon to my home, literally down the street, and I will never go there again or recommend it anybody else. I don't usually write reviews, but my experience was so bad I just had to! I had gotten a gel manicure (for cheaper) at another place and it was perfectly fine but ready to come off. My sister wanted a mani-pedi too, so we walked to the shop. No warm greeting or anything, but a couple ladies came up to take care of us within minutes as the shop was not too busy. I told the woman I wanted my gel manicure removed. Of course, she asked if I wanted a pedicure, and I said no. Now, never having had a gel manicure before, I was not sure what to expect for removal. Out came the power tool sander/file thing. Ummm?! I should have probably just stopped her there, but instead winced in pain while she sand blasted my nails, frequently nicking my cuticles and fingers around nail beds (which 2 days later are spotted with tiny scabs). Next, she doused them in acetone and wrapped them in cotton and foil. She moved quickly on to step 3 of removing all that and after the gel wouldn't scrape off, sand blasted some more. Ouch! She soaked and filed my nails, but I realized she must have misunderstood (or not paid attention) when I told her at the start that I did not want a pedicure or new manicure, just to take off the gel! She asked me what color I wanted, and I had to explain again, lying by agreeing to her offer "next time." She charged me $15 for pure torture and damaged nails and fingers! I stupidly felt obliged to tip, but again wish I had just walked out then and there! She also hurriedly glued my nail, which I had also asked for as it was torn previously. However, after being filed so brutally, the glue did nothing to hold the nail together, and the next morning I snagged it as I was getting up. Ouch again! My sister was also unhappy with her gel manicure, and was shocked at the way they went about the process of removing the gel before too. Long story short, I regret wasting money here and will NEVER again set foot across the threshold in spite of how close it is to home. read more
