Asked for an internet quote on a Subaru Impreza and was quoted a laughable $2,000 OVER the MSRP. When I politely pointed that out I was told that this was a 'regional mark up' applied when cars are in short supply. Give me a break! I was able to get a quote just a bit below the MSRP from another dealer on the same day. They weren't willing to budge a penny on their crazy price and they also marked up an accessory by nearly $100. I can't imagine why anyone would want to deal with that kind of nonsense when there are so many other places to shop. read more

I had been looking to get a brand new 2013 Subaru Legacy with the All Weather Package for a few months, had contacted many dealers online to get their online pricing. After a few weeks of looking my dad and suggested looking at a used one. I found a car available at Dick Hannah Subaru, a 2010 Subaru Legacy Black with All Weather Package and the listed price was $17,993. After a salesman had contacted me via phone (after on my internet inquiry I requested to only be contacted by email) the Used 2010 they had on their lot. My husband and I decided to drive out to Vancouver, 1.5 hour drive from our house, and look at it. When we arrived at the dealership the salesman, Jeremiah, seemed very nice and easy going. I told him I wanted to see the 2010 Legacy and he said okay let me go get keys... and he pulled up a 2013 Subaru Legacy and forced us to stand there for 15 minutes while he told me about every detail of the car ect... I told him we didnt want to drive it because we had already driven 3 of them. He forced us to drive the car while he sat in the back making small talk. When we got back to the dealership I requested to see the 2010 Legacy and he huffed and went to find it, and the car wasnt on the lot!!! He went in to talk to his manager to track down the car ect and told me since it was so fresh to the lot it may have been in detail still. (I saw the car on the website a week before we went in, not so fresh...) Anyway, after wating an hour for them to find keys and the car (which was parked at Dich Hannah Honda...?) he finally came back with the keys. We drove it and decided we would love to buy the car, if they would come down a little on their price. He sat us down and had us fill out credit score forms and then talk payments, and was honestly very rude. When he came back with the credit scores, my husband returned at no hits whatsoever. I found this odd because he has credit through many different agencies. Anyhow, he could get us approved for 3.9 percent on the car. He asked how long we wanted out loan for I told him 60 months, so he went to his finance lady and came back with monthly payments for 72 months. I told him repeatedly I wanted to only finance for 60 months and I wanted to see the payments for that. He walked back over and came back with the 60 months payments, WITHOUT the interest calculated in! Seriously? When I told him we were wondering if he could go down on the price he really got angry, telling me to try to look up on my phone for cars like this one with 40,000 miles or less for a lower price and said.. see, there are none! And then he accused me of not knowing what Subarus are worth! My family has owned Subarus since I was a kid!!! He asked what it would take to get me to take the car home right now and I said 17,000 out the door fees included and he said out the door fees are something we have to pay there is no way around that (Many other dealerships quoted me with out the door fees included in the final price). When I said I would buy it today for 17,000 out the door he laughed at me and asked if I was being serious. I said yes and he scribbled on the back of his worksheet "Buy and drive happy today for $17,000 with and and a line and said to sign it. When I said I wasnt going to sign anything he got even more frustrated and said he needed a commitment before he could go give his sales manager my offer. I again told him I wasnt signing anything and he laughed and walked away. When they returned, his sales manager said he was going to "Educate" my husband and I on what Subarus are worth and how this car blue books for two thousand more then their asking price. Since I had lots of time to look up blue book while I waited for keys I had found the exact car blue books for $1,200 LESS than what they were asking! When I showed it to him he came up with multiple excuses as to why this car is better than any blue book values and continued to educate me on what a used Subaru is worth. They got really pushy and were telling me why I HAD to buy the car. Now this was my first time buying a car and was more than upset about this sales tactic as I had been working with out local dealer for months with no pushy tactics, they simply didnt have the car I wanted. We sat quiet for a few minutes and his sales manager said to me "You just dont like the car and you arent serious about buying one, your wasting our time." At that point, I stood up and said, I love the the car, but I wont pay more then $17,000 out the door, and walked out. From the time we left until we got home and I shut my phone off, the salesman was texting me and calling me. I sent him and ad for a 2010 will less miles in Portland at a different dealer and he all the sudden tried getting us to come back. When I got an email asking how they did I asked for a call, and never got one. The very next day, I went to Bob Stone in the Dalles and bought a car for $3,500 less. Its worth a few hundred bucks to avoid DHS. read more

Do NOT trust anything the service department at this dealership tells you. Last weekend I went in for an oil change and was told I had a defective tire. The tire was practically brand new but had a pretty significant bulge. Instead of being honest and telling me to return the tire to the manufacturer (Les Schwab), who later that day easily replaced it at no cost, Dick Hannah Subaru handed me a quote for $600.00 and wanted to know when I'd be in next. Stay away. This is not an honest dealership - do not trust what they say about needed service on your vehicle. read more

I went in half an hour before they close but Apple was nice enough to show me the car I want and let me have a little test drive. Unknowledgable about what pzev means, 5 minutes in he walks off and passed me off to another salesman who didn't have a name either. Number 2 went to find number 1, 10 minutes later I left. I am buying a new legacy, obviously not from Dick Hannah. If the dealer cares, I was the one in the red Ford explorer since you didn't care enough to even ask my name. I had my tires rotated here on my 2015 coupe and they told me my oil filter (that I had just had put in) was leaking. I told them I'd handle it myself. Left, cleaned up the oil around the filter, one week and 1,000 miles later (I live in California and drove back down), there is NO oil. They loosened the filter so there would be oil, trying to get me to do an unnecessary oil change for NO reason. I would never trust this service department. Especially considering the check in woman was also incompetent. I took before and after photos for documentation, but unfortunately cannot post them with my review. No wonder why this place has 2 1/2 stars, they are dishonest. read more

We just had a great car buying experience at Dick Hannah Subaru. We shopped around for a Crosstrek but Dick Hannah Subaru gave us the best price. When we arrived at the dealership Huyen Hoang, a floor sales rep, helped us through the entire process. He was quick on his feet, respectful and very patient with us. He was also knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the car and the brand. I literally asked about every button and function in the car during our test drive and he was extremely helpful. Even the paperwork part was not as bad or as long as anticipated. Between Huyen, Tuan, and Guy the paperwork process went very smoothly because they were so efficient which I appreciate. Huyen also spent a lot of time going through the car manual and warranties even though it was past closing time. He presented some options but did not pressure. Overall it was painless and even enjoyable. I highly recommend this dealership and the whole team, particularly our sales rep Huyen Hoang. I also love my new Subaru! read more

Car salesman Abdul helped us and he worked extremely hard to get us a great deal. Our car is beautiful! Just drove all the way up here after I was talking with one of their sales employees and they just told me my credit score and said that unless I do a down payment that I wasn't getting the car then they continued to pressuring me into a down payment I just had to spend a lot of money into maintenance on the vehicle I was trying to trade in and then kept trying to force me into a down payment once the bank said no they got all pissed off and told me to leave I would NOT recommend them to anyone or any customer of mine, their crooks and don't care about their customers. read more

We adore our new Subaru Impreza but were very disappointed in the services we received. We paid extra to have a clear bra installed - and after being told our appointment was on a specific date AND that we would received a rental car, we arrived to find out that they never scheduled an appointment for us. We drove all of the way out from Beaverton, so it was a huge waste of gas, time, and mileage on our new car. They ended up scheduling the appointment for the following week and telling us a rental car was "not part of the deal". After speaking with management they withdrew that statement and told us that would be provided. After paying thousands on a clear bra we were really upset with the results. They did not even wash the car before installing the bra! So now there is dust/dirt under the bra that is very noticeable. Also, they forgot to have us sign a loan document so we had to drive back out there for that. Not worth it. Think twice before "adding on" services and buying from this dealer. read more

I've been through the sales, service, and parts departments, and they're okay. Service is the best of the bunch, IMO. Like many dealers, they valued the car they sold me at the top of the range, while valuing my trade-in at the bottom of the range. I hadn't done my homework before arriving at the dealer, so I have no one to blame but myself, but I do feel as if I was taken advantage of to the tune of a few thousand dollars. The car I bought was Certified Pre-Owned, and the salesperson went through a detailed description of how the coverage was bumper-to-bumper ("I was able to get you this extended coverage," making it sound as if they were doing me a favor, rather than just selling me the identical extended warranty that is probably available to every CPO buyer). It wasn't made clear to me at the time that the CPO coverage was powertrain only, and that the bumper-to-bumper coverage would cost me over $2000 extra. I fault the salesperson for the faulty communication, but they were quick to cancel the extra coverage when I asked them to. I get the impression that the folks at the dealership "Believe in Nice" in only certain parts of their operation. read more

I live in the portland area and have shopped around the dealerships in the area for a 2015 Forester for the last 3 months. Negotiating with car salesmen is always painful and takes forever. Our experience at Dick Hannah was neither. We negotiated the price with online service for the exact car before getting to the dealership to look at it. Not only did I find the car I want - also found the most reasonable rate without a hassle. Pleasantly surprised when we got to the dealer - our sale was handled by Susan (Sue) Heath. She was very pleasant and helpful in all steps of the sale. No pushy salesman behavior. No extra hidden fees. No spending 10+ hours at the dealership where they wont let you leave unless you "absolutely need" to get that EXTRA coverage. Sue told us she would have us out in 2 hours (including processing financing). My Oregonian license insured no taxes on my new vehicle. Thanks to Sue we were out in and hour and a half with the keys. I communicated my needs via email first making it that much easier upon going to the dealership. The entire team on the 4th of July was great. I felt like I should be inviting them to a BBQ after they got off work. They each worked tirelessly to get me into the car I've ALWAYS wanted at a price and terms that were absolutely unmatched anywhere else. Listen, their job is to make the sale but at no time did I ever feel that they weren't being anything but honest. They genuinely wanted to see me happy whether I left with a new car or not. AND to top it off the in-house insurance agent with Allstate got us a lower rate! I had just gotten into an accident with my car and wasn't sure if my car was going to be repairable or not. I thought I should at least start looking as I wasnt sure what to replace it with. NOT REALLY NICE. I bought my car here and fell for buying an extra insurance package from them that was to cover little things that could go wrong - per the salesman. I should have read the fine print. My windshield got a crack -they never called back. Little issues have come up after having my vehicle serviced-not resetting the dash "service needed" display, no sticker indicating when next oil change is due, keeping me longer than reasonable for servicing. I'm pretty much done with them. It's not worth driving to Vancouver for poor service UPDATE: Tom, one of the managers, contacted me and reimbursed me the whole $297 for the windshield. Stay Away!!! Bad experience. We went in ready to buy based off their ad posted online and in the paper. We were told they will not honor their ad after monday from a sunday ad. Had a GREAT experience at Dick Hannah this weekend buying a used 2015 Subaru Outback. We worked with Ather Munson and he was FANTASTIC. He spent about 2 hours with us the first day and then let us walk away to sleep on it without being pushy or doing that usual "what's it going to take for you to drive away with this car" b.s. that we've gotten from other dealerships. Not only did he very gracefully let us walk away but he also was sure to get to the dealership early the next day to meet our independent inspector as he checked out every detail of the car. Later we showed up with our carseat in tow and he let us see how the carseat fit in the car. He even said we could bring our dog to see how she liked it too! (We didn't take him up on the offer). He was very patient with us and spent almost his whole day helping us find the best fit. Ather made great recommendations and we really felt that he was looking to find the best fit for us. Do you due diligence after getting your car repaired here. I recently purchased a used subaru from a dealer in Portland and soon after the check engine light came on. I had the error read at another shop just to make sure it was ok to drive the car around until Dick Hannah had an open appointment. The car was ok to drive. I took the car into Hannah and had valves replaced under warranty and went on my way. A week late, the check engine light came back on. I took the car in again, this time they asked me when it had come in because by the time they got it the light was off (go figure) normally this doesn't matter because the code is stored in the memory, however the service manager told me that the code wasn't in the memory. They ran more tests and called me at the end of day to tell me they could not get the code to come back on and that things were looking fine and I could come and get my car. When I got the service center, they told me they thought they finally knew what was going on. They told me that whoever owned the car had performance parts put on it and had the car tuned. They suggested that I visit another company to get that code deleted from the tuning and PS. because there were performance parts put on this car at one time, the warranty was void. They did not charge, me but I left VERY disappointed in the dealer I purchased the car from and upset about the entire situation. The next day I did have to call the dealer to get the title to the car. He asked how the car was and I explained to him what I had just been through at Dick Hannah. He was shocked to hear this and said he was going to call Wentworth Subaru and get more details and give me a call back. The next day, I went down to get my title and spoke with the owner of the dealership where I bought the car. He told me that when the car was brought to Wentworth it went through an almost 2 week inspection to make sure it had not been raced nor had any parts been added to the car. The car is still under warranty and he recommend I take it to Wentworth because they know the history of that car. I am sharing my experience with Dick Hannah because of what was assumed and what their suggestions were to me. The "oh by the way your warranty is void" without actually doing any investigation into the car is scary. What if I had not talked to the guy I purchased the car from and just assumed Hannah was right in their diagnosis? I would have ended up paying for some tuning that would have not helped anything. I left there thinking I had no more warranty either and the call is only two years old. I will say the service manager there was very nice, they are very customer-friendly.. it just seems that sometimes they don't know what they are doing. read more

We just purchased a Subaru Outback from Dick Hannah Subaru and had a great experience. We worked with Seth and Peter and felt like we received outstanding service from both of them. On our first visit, Seth gave me a comprehensive overview of the car's features. Initially I thought this was way too much information, but I let him do his thing, and as I learned more I changed my opinion - hIs upfront investment really reinforced my opinion that this was the car for me. Seth also had Peter talk with us about packages and pricing - he gave us good information, no hard sell, no pressure - just helpful information. Over the course of about 2 months, we looked at several other types of cars (at different dealerships) and each time revisited Dick Hannah Subaru to compare those to our "gold standard," the Outback. Each time, the Outback was the clear winner. We asked for Seth on each return visit and he always was pleasant and patient with our requests to again take a test drive. The day we finally came in to buy, Seth was unavailable, so Peter helped us close the deal. We had done a lot of homework about options, packages, and pricing and knew exactly what we were willing to pay for and which options were unessential for us. We got (what we feel) was a great price for exactly what we wanted. Ammar drew up our papers and walked us through the final steps. He said he'd been with the dealership for 10+ years (a good sign we thought) and his experience showed. He was not only efficient and helpful, but personable and pleasant. Once that was all finalized, Peter spent another 20-25 minutes with us, making sure we understood how everything in the car worked (even getting down on the ground with me to point out where the jack would go if I needed to change a tire - this at my request). We left very satisfied not only with our car, but with the whole experience. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dealership, and Peter and Seth, in particular. read more

I haven't had any problems with the parts department. But the service department here seems to be a rip off. I was having trouble with my air injection pump on my 06 Forester XT. I took out the relay to the pump, which could have been causing the problem, and brought it over to them. I asked them if they could test it for me before buying a new one for $20. They said their Tech would charge me $35 to test it. It takes less than 2mins for them to hook it up and test it. I left and I went to O'Rielly auto parts and they tested it at no charge. It took them less than 2mins to do it. read more

I never imagined in my wildest dreams that purchasing a new car could be so smooth and easy! My past dealings with car dealerships have been pretty unpleasant, more akin to an interaction with a cable company, cell provider, or the likes. Not so with my recent experience at Dick Hannah Subaru; I was almost shocked how painless it was. I was in the market for a pretty hard to come by vehicle - a manual transmission Subaru Forester in Dark Grey, Silver, or Black. No dealership in the states of Oregon or Washington had one in stock. I sent out feelers to all the Subaru dealerships within a 100 mile radius of me and discussed the cost of ordering with a few of my more local dealers. I happened to find a manual Forester listed on Dick Hannah's website as "in-transit". I emailed to request a quote. Amber from their Internet Marketing department got back to me promptly with a quote that was lower than any of the other dealerships I had spoken with. Her communication was clear and consistent through a few additional exchanges. I came in to put a deposit on the vehicle and met with Jose. Jose's communication was consistent with what Amber had quoted me and he walked me through the process for putting a deposit on the in-transit vehicle and completing the purchase after its arrival. He reviewed the timelines, trade-in options, etc. I was pretty clear up front on my specifics and he didn't try to pressure or up-sell; definitely a new experience for me with a car salesman and much appreciated. He told me when my vehicle was scheduled to arrive, but assured me that they often come in early. He was prompt to respond when I contacted him to follow up. True to what Jose had stated, the car came in a full week and a half earlier than scheduled. He texted me early in the morning, right after the car's arrival, to let me know it was in. I was eager to pick it up, so definitely appreciated him contacting me right when my car arrived at the dealership. It was great timing in the sense that I had plans to head out early that afternoon for a weekend on the coast, and was thrilled at the idea of being able to take the new Subie. However, my weekend plans also made the timing somewhat stressful in that I expected the purchase process to take several frustrating hours, potentially delaying my family trip. I let him know that I was going out of town that afternoon and could only process the purchase if it was going to be quick. Jose was able to meet with me almost right away. The price and interest rate were exactly what we discussed, and he didn't try to pressure me into add-ons I'd made clear I wasn't interested in. My time with Ali in financing was quick and painless as well. Again everything was consistent with what had been communicated previously. Options were presented in an informative way and not out of pressure. After completing the financing process in less than half the time I was expecting, Jose was thorough in walking me around the car and features while also being considerate of my time and schedule. I was in and out right on schedule. Great dealership and great experience! Really appreciated the customer service from Amber, Jose, and Ali. As a new resident of the northwest, I knew I had to replace my Camry with an AWD vehicle. I spent several weeks noticing the cars on the road and narrowed my search to a Subaru Forester and a Toyota Rav 4. I have owned Toyota's for almost 20 years, including a Rav 4, so it was up to Dick Hannah Subaru to convince me and that they did. The salesman Saad Chahin was patient, knowledgeable, and proved himself committed to doing whatever necessary to assure me that this was the right purchase. The sales manager had my interests at heart and listened to my concerns and the finance office was both efficient and humorous. As I told Saad, it was the easiest (and quickest) car purchase I have ever made. Their slogan, Believe in Nice, is lived out in every interaction with their customers. What I didn't expect was the extra service I have to look forward to as a Dick Hannah customer, including roadside assistance and that monthly car wash. Everyone in the dealership is committed to finding the car that meets the needs of the customer. I did not feel pressured by the salesman and as a single female shopper, I appreciate that. The negotiation was minimal and I know that I got the car I wanted for the best price. I highly recommend Dick Hannah Subaru. I am happy to be the newest member of their family. read more

One lie after another as we called him and he still works there. The service people are friendly but the system they use is not efficient in letting you know what service is required when... It usually has us feeling more frustrated than anything else...not the way you want to feel when you've just made a major purchase for something that is going to be a part of your life for quite some time. I wanted a 2018 Legacy. Amber Wood found the car I requested at another dealership, but would not take a deposit for it. She said I would need to come down to the dealership in person to get this car. I told her I was in Alaska and would fly down to purchase this car. Your appointment will be here at our Dick Hannah Subaru dealership.} So she knew when I was coming down to the dealership, however when I arrived there I was told that the dealer who had the car did not want to release it. That is not what she told me in our emails. Then Hanna Subaru tried to sell me a car I did not want, ( different color, different options ) not the car I requested. This is the old "bait and switch" figure once they had me at their dealership they could talk me into buying a car I did not want. They robbed me of over $500 for air fare, hotel and rental car with their deceptive and shady tactics. I do not know if Washington state has a fraud protection office, I will find out and make a complaint there. They could have offered to find the car I requested taken the airfare off of the price. That would have been the least they could do. Sadly no that would mean "customer service" something they lack. We bought a new Subaru Forrester here in September. I would NEVER go back to this dealership! While our salesperson, Sarah, was great, the manager and other staff were NOT. The manager, Curtis, required us to re-apply for their financing, even though we had already been pre-approved for financing through our bank and we had confirmed with this dealership by phone that this would be accepted. So we ended up paying cash just to not have to deal with the hassle. Then they told us we had to "walk through some paperwork" where one of their staff did this sleazy hard-sell presentation on buying an extended warranty. We had told them our goal was to make this purchase in a hurry, but they kept us there for over 2 1/2 hours. The final straw was when the manager was rude to one of my family members. I would not return to this company. There were just too many hassles and unprofessional moments. Their motto is "Believe in nice." All was great until my salesman called me. I was told my car was ready and I can come in and except delivery. I asked about accessories I had order and said he was not sure, call you back tomorrow. 13:45 I called, been waiting for his call patently until 13:45. I was told the accessories are on order and I'm with a costumer, can you come in late today or tomorrow, need to finish up with this customer. We will have you return when the accessories are in. This to me is a Total blow off of a customer that just dropped big money for a car. I will remember this dealership when I look for another car. read more
