Ordered some brisket,pulled pork and chicken. There was 15-20% pure fat on the order. I realize some fat can give the beef and pork more flavor which I do like but this was way past that. The chicken was in big chunks which was hard to make a sandwich with but it was tasty. Have always used Arapahoe Dickey's with great success. I will probably make the drive for the better quality. Last night we decided to give them a try. We spent $60 and they forgot to give us 2 orders of our French fries, gave us dinner rolls when we asked for corn muffin, and the food was not good. Avoided this place for years because of the poor reviews when they first opened. Now that they have had time to mature, I decided to try it. I fell in love with the spicy barbecue sauce on top of the pulled pork. My portion of meat was huge and filling. Cooked well and tasted great. I'm glad I decided to try it, I'll be back! read more

Another example of a restaurant getting greedy. This location used to be one of our favorites but after our visit today, we will not be back. Sizes of sides have gone down and they didn't even fill them as you can see in the image. Our fries are cold and undercooked as well as the meat being cold. When I do crave Dickey's.........I am driving up to the one on Arapahoe that actually gets it right. The Araphoe location is completely different than this one. I was really turned off by how dirty everything look behind the counter. Then the person behind the counter grabbed a chunk of meat wrapped in shrink wrap from some sort of warmer - then slammed it down on the counter, looked at it and sighed, then stabbed it with a knife to get the plastic off. Well, we didn't have to wait because we stopped in for some takeout BBQ at 11:00 a.m., so waiting wasn't our issue. We only waited for a few minutes for our order to be ready, ribs, a brisket hoagie, jalapeño beans and potato salad. And the staff were helpful, happy and anxious to please, four stars for them. However, once we arrived home and ate the food the star factor went way down. The ribs were fair, no flavor and rather dry, even with the included extra sauce. The beans also had no flavor, even the jalapeño buzz was lacking. The potato salad was very creamy, but just didn't taste like good potato salad should taste, almost like store bought and not made fresh in the restaurant like it should be. The brisket meat in the hoagie was dry and also not much flavor. My wife and I visited the Castle Rock Dickey's at 323 Metzler Dr, Castle Rock Co at 11:10 AM on 3-14-16. We both had the Beef Cheese Baker potato. This was the worst meal I have eaten in months. The beef and the potato were ice cold and the restaurant was filthy. The two young girls behind the counter were laughing and talking among themselves and never made any attempt to clean the place up. At the time, were the only one's in the restaurant. It had just opened. Hours later, I still have a bad taste in my mouth. My wife took some photos of food and dirt all over the floor and on the counters were the pop machine and eating utensils were stored. Went in again yesterday around 5:30. I know I said I wouldn't go back, but I wanted to give the place a fair shot. There were maybe 3 people in front of us in line. However, we waited over 25 minutes in line to get 2 plates to go. I cannot for the life of me figure out why the service here seems to broken. Everything is premade except for frying (ie - French fries). It should be a quick process to take your order, chop your meat, scoop out the sides, and pay for your food. I really want to like this place. I love good bbq. I just think that maybe there is a lack of leadership at this location. read more

I'd give this zero stars if I could. Dickey's is a chain. I've had other locations and its really good! But not here. Don't go here. I can't emphasize that one enough. My sister and I came here. It took about 10 minutes to get our food. The smell and the flies should have been warning enough but we were hungry so we ordered anyway, thinking maybe it couldn't be that bad (it was). The area was filthy - sticky floors, messy counters, a HUGE pile of crumbs from the ice cream cones (I wonder if it is still accumulating...). Even the trays that they handed us with our food on them was sticky. To make matters worse when we sat down to eat, the food was sour. Like "I was cooked 10 days ago" sour, or "I've been sitting out for hours now" sour. We tried to say something, but NONE of the employees were paying attention. Instead they were all sitting at a table talking about nonsense and what they were going to do that night. So we threw away our food and left. So we left, $20 bucks down the toilet. We did email to let the management know and we got a prompt response and he offered meal tickets to the Dickeys local to us (not this one) and said he was going to go there, which was promising, however it's been a few weeks since then and he hasn't followed through. I haven't dared to go back and see if things have changed because it was truly that disgusting. So in conclusion - DON'T DO IT. Extremely mediocre food. After test driving them at least ten times, I've finally had it. This last visit for takeout resulted in inedible ribs (full of mostly fat, very little meat) cold and dry sides (Mac and cheese, spinach and okra) and blah flavor. The sausage was okay, and I ended up returning the ribs to the restaurant. Upon arrival, they simply said they would refund my money. I would think there might be some interest in retaining my business, as in "we must have had a bad batch of ribs - here is a certificate for a future dinner on us" or something like that, but no. Two weeks later, the credit card was still not refunded and I had to head down to Dickey's yet again. They said the refunds for that day had "declined" but I'm having a hard time figuring out why they didn't simply try again? Bad experience, and I don't think I will be be back. It's so nice and close to our house, so it's unfortunate, but it might be worth the drive to Hickory House for some consistency and good customer service. Very frustrating. read more

Dickey's is pretty darn good! I enjoy walking in and being greeted by the staff. The food was great and the free ice cream...Mmmm...Mmmm....delicious! Yes, there's a lack of seating indoors, and outdoors. The crazy weather here in CO makes it hard to want to sit outdoors, so it'd be nice to just extend it out. This food was absolutely gross! Has to be probably the worst claim to BBQ I have ever attempted to eat. It was cold, soaked in grease and mostly fat. The sliced brisket was thick cuts of the toughest, fattiest brisket ever. The jalapeño beans we cool and very sweet. We did not receive our dinner rolls (which may have been to only part of the meal we could have finished). Ordered two of the two meat plates so we had the beef brisket, pork, and chicken between us. Various sides. Portion sizes were a very good price/value. And--no complaints on the quality or taste of the bbq or sides. All were good and tasty. So a very good experience overall. We did have the food delivered via a service and it was on-time. Since we are a fan of Dickey's now, we'll be more likely to order take out for pick up as I understand that the delivery service can be expensive for the restaurant and cuts into their profits in a big way.
