If I could do less than 1 star I would. We've been ordering our thanksgiving turkey from Dickey's for YEARS! Last year I ordered it like I normally do a couple weeks ahead of time and then all of a sudden I got a phone call THE DAY BEFORE Thanksgiving (when I'm supposed to pick up our turkey) saying that they ran out of turkey and that they were sorry. They didn't put in for the right number of turkeys for the preorders they took. Mind you this again was THE DAY BEFORE thanksgiving so we had to call all around California to try to find a replacement turkey from them and we couldn't. Thankfully Safeway had some turkeys and we got one but that put a super sour taste in our mouths. We will NEVER come here again. We didn't even get a sorry or anything just we don't have your turkey you preordered weeks ago. read more

Last Sunday we went to Dickey's. We drove an hour and a half to get there because all the ones were closed. When walking through the door the cashier said did you call in we said no he said oh great and said it's going to be a while. Then someone else came in he asked them if they called in they said yes, he said they were slow and she had left or something like that and didn't inform him. But the person on the phone said they had enough food so that we didn't need to put in an order ahead of time. He huffed and puffed said he was left alone to do all the work, also said it's going to be a long time. He then took down our order and asked if it was going to be a long order and then complained the whole time trying to detours away from ordering or something I don't know. When we told him we wanted the cheddar sausage and formed us it was going to be 20 minutes wait which we were fine with we had already told them we drove an hour and a half we would wait that long he then got upset about that. He kept saying is that all and then if we ordered anything else he was like oh my gosh and literally use those words. If you ask about the potatoes he would say yeah of course it has gravy what do you know but I've never had it before so I was just asking. He complained the whole order after spending $180. I have never met or seen a Ruder cashier that complained the whole time when you tried to order. I will not go back. There wasn't even a lot of food for almost $200. I mean if you don't want us eating there that's fine but don't advertise food. Sad customer service all the way bad. read more

Really depressing food, the picture on the menus for the baked potato has real bacon. It DOES NOT come with real bacon. Or. Enough butter, cheese, sour cream. It's fake dehydrated salad topping bits. The potato is dry af. The food here is really depressing. The ribs are good and my husband enjoyed the chicken wings. But the potatoes are really sad and very underwhelming. It's been awhile since I've been here decided to give them another try. But yet again the lady serving the meat seems like she hates her job and is not friendly at all. I ordered 2, 3 meat plates from Postmates. I have eaten here plenty of times and haven't had any problems before. I figured I order some food to be delivered. Everything tasted fine, my only complaint is the portion size of both plates. There were so little meat on both plates. I was so bummed out when I opened up the to go boxes when they arrived. It was definitely not worth the price I paid. Not sure if it was an off day or what but I definitely won't be ordering delivery and I will be actually ordering from inside the restaurant. I've been to a rib fest before and Dickey's was one of the sponsors. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to taste one of their ribs at the festival. I was told it was very good, so I wanted to try it for myself. Dickey's is located within a Bel Air/CVS shopping center. The restaurant is quite small, with tables lined up against one side of the wall. There were quite a few families having dinner here. When my friend and I first entered the restaurant, we didn't know where to order. I thought maybe at the cash register, but you order where you first walk in. There was a sign that I didn't notice until afterwards. It's kind of awkward. I ordered the rib plate, which includes 2 sides (I picked fried onion tanglers and mac & cheese) and a roll. There were 3 different BBQ sauces for you to choose from located on a counter. I would not recommend the onion tanglers. There wasn't a puddle of oil, but a pool of oil within the bag. The mac & cheese was standard, very cheesy. The pork ribs literally fell off the bone. I don't remember ever having ribs that were so tender. Free soft serve ice cream is located at the entrance. I like to come to EG because the staff is super friendly. Get your meat chopped by Cam, then checkout with Diana. If you want to just GO BIG at your next party or gig, contact Randale....he's the super fly Sales and Catering guy!!! The Natomas location was crazy hot inside because the A/C wasn't rated high enough to accommodate the smokers. I've heard that the A/C has been fixed since then. You can never go wrong with the Pulled Pork, especially on Fridays when a ONE MEAT plate of this tender goodness is only $8.99 with two sides. We've been here a few times now. We've dined in a couple of times. This time we ordered out. As you walk in there's always someone behind the counter either saying "hello" or acknowledges you that they'd be with you in a moment! The menu is up on a board behind the employees. We ordered the pound of brisket and the rack of ribs! No sides. When we got home the meal was still warm! Our meat was very tender and delicious. ( we made our own sides! ) They offer three different BBQ sauces. A spicy, original, and a sweet one. I like to mix mine! Spicy wasn't hot at all. The sides....we did not order. We don't really care for it. You might like them so give it a try! I am used to the down home southern BBQ sides so that is why I don't care for it. Menolly, Brian, jaden, were absolutely kind and amazing hosts, they're service was impeccable, and I will be back to this specific location.

I got the 3 meat(Ribs,Pulled Pork, Brisket) meal with 2 sides(potato salad, green beans with bacon). With tax it was about $27. That's a lot(it really isn't a lot for BBQ and restaurant have had to increase prices across the board and I have to stop living in the past) but it's a decent amount of food. I think a lot of people could share this plate with 1 other person and be satisfied. I tend to eat a lot and I was(and am at this moment) pretty full. There was a generous amount of pulled pork and brisket. The pork was moist and juicy and the brisket was tender and wasn't dry. The ribs were falling off the bone. They were really good. Only complaint is there were only two of them. I was pretty full about 3/4 of the way through but I wasn't stopping. After I finished I would have kept going if there was more. That tells me it's pretty good. I got the spicy sauce and it has some kick to it. I actually really liked the flavor and the thinner consistency. i don't really enjoy thick sauces. Okay....One complaint and I was really looking forward to these. The Green Beans with Bacon. There wasn't any bacon. None Zero. Nada The potato salad is just average potato salad but good, and the Texas Toast is rather small and thin Would I go back? Yeah. I'm on a tight budget so not as often as i'd like. I think I got my money's worth. And that says a lot because nowadays so many restaurants charge similar prices and you don't get your money's worth. I'm glad I checked Yelp before i ordered. Sauce is flavorful but I make better at home. The meat can be overcooked. It does get a good "bark(?)" on the outside which adds flavor.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much of this place. Walking inside, it's very decorated and feels cozy. Ordering is cafeteria style. Start with the first staff worker and order your meats, then next girl will handle your sides, then pay at the end. I went for spicy cheddar sausage and chicken breast. A generous portion of both! Chicken breast is on the dry side but BBQ sauce helps. I liked the sausage a lot, with the bursts of cheese. I ordered the mac n cheese and baked potato casserole (mashed potatoes topped with cheese and green onion). Meal entrees also come with bread (favorite part of the meal) and an onion and pickle (I'm not sure what people usually eat that with but I'm not a fan of either haha). There are 3 sauces hidden on the right side of the drink machine. Nobody explained it up front to grab your sauces on the side but I only knew it because I read reviews mentioning it before coming here. The sauces tasted all similar to me...but I gravitated towards the hot and spicy, which seemed pretty mild. And another plus, free soft serve! It's located in the front of the restaurant and cones are hanging up top. Can't go wrong with free ice cream in my book...I think it's what pushed me from 3 to 4 stars. Food came out quick, we ordered and finished our meal under 30 minutes. I wouldn't mind coming back to try a sandwich or a baked potato. For a meat eater, the portions may be small, but for me it was perfect when you add the two sides, bread, and dessert. It was just the right amount! read more

Our family went to Dickey's this evening. We received great service from Jaden, Menny, and John. Our toddler was feeling a bit grumpy and Jaden played peak-a-boo with him. My wife and I got the Pork Out Platter and Brisket Plate. We wanted to try a bit of everything. My wife liked the pork ribs and kielbasa most, and I liked the brisket and burnt ends. The meat was a bit dry, but otherwise soft and well cooked. The seasoning felt just right and not overpowering. Most of the salt is in the dipping sauce instead of directly on the meat, which lets you adjust to taste a bit, which we liked. Our toddler was a huge fan of the mac and cheese. I love the ability to order on the website and my favorite part is that they have their deals on there so it's easy to pick one and you can save a little bit of money. The only thing I ever order is the beef brisket sandwich, it is the best thing they have and I guarantee you won't be disappointed with it. In my house, we always get it chopped, this is a must, we do not like it sliced for some reason. I love that they have so many different bbq sauces to go with it. The sides are always hit and miss. My hubby only likes the fried things aka onion tanglers (beware they are very salty which is not my thing) and waffle cut fries, but I'm a huge fan of their Mac and cheese and it's always my go to side. Other sides that are decent are the baked potato casserole and the fried okra. I hard pass on the salads (boring and overpriced) the jalapeño beans (no flavor) and the green beans (again bland) and every other side is not worth trying in my opinion. All in all it's very good barbecue for a decent price and you do get a lot of food. I would say brisket sandwich and a side of Mac and cheese is all you need. Their unsweetened tea is another favorite of mine as it tastes fresh brewed which is a surprise with most teas that you order out tasting quite plastic and chemically. read more

Brian, Jaden, and Menny were all incredibly inviting and helpful in handling our complicated order as first-timers. Our order was done in a timely manner and the establishment was very clean. Friendly staff but under a new owner they are completely lost. Tonight they were out of ribs, and chicken and turkey breast. They were also out of diet sodas. Second time the brisket was too over cooked to be edible. And, they tried to pass off some old smoked pulled pork (likely day old) covered in seasoning salt. I'd received a coupon for Dickey's Barbecue Pit, for a "picnic package" from Bell Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning. My friend and I went to Dickey's and fulfilled the coupon: a pound of beef brisket, potato salad, baked BBQ beans, Chibata bread rolls, and BBQ sauce. We added beverages. We ordered and ate our meal at Dickey's. It was difficult to hear the two employees helping with the meat and sides selections. Both were courteous and very polite, fulfilled our orders yet their voices were very low. The brisket was the most flavorful, tender meat I'd tasted. The beans were really good, the potato salad as well. The rolls were fresh. After our meal we had the free soft serve ice cream. This was a great experience, excellent food and quality customer service. We chatted with the manager Jaime. He is an excellent representative of Dickey's Barbecue Pit. He checked on us, thanked us for coming in, asked us to come again and seemed to be sincere, not just empty words. I provided him with the constructive feedback reference it. Wing difficult to hear the two employees. We acknowledged they were new, he was working with them on this matter and thanked us for the input. This is my second experience at a Dickey's Barbecue Pit. My first experience was not great, it was okay. This experience was awesome! I will return to this location. Kudos to Jaime and his crew! WAY OVERPRICED ribs and service is not welcoming. After commenting that the prices of ribs went way up. The girl said that's the going rate for ribs at any bbq restaurant. Even though Dickey's is a fast food bbq. I guess they will charge you the same as a well known sit down BBQ restaurants. Then to spite me for saying the prices went up she ended up giving me the most burnt bad batch of ribs. I guess instead of showing me that the price is worth it she'd "show me".
