We ordered a dozen ribs with Carolina BBQ sauce, and 6 slices of Texas toast at a total cost of $49.60. The ribs were so salty that they were inedible, and the Texas toast was simply thin sliced white bread with butter; NOT Texas toast. The ribs were not cooked in Carolina BBQ sauce, but were their "standard ribs" with two small cups of BBQ sauce. When I called to complain, they said they had been out of Texas toast for a while and had been selling the buttered white bread instead, with no mention of that on the website. I could have purchased a loaf of white bread and toasted it myself. When I mentioned the salty ribs not being cooked in Carolina BBQ sauce, they said that's just the way we do it. Food was okay. Felt completely rushed to order with nobody behind us. The cashier was in training (no problem), but asked us the same questions (order and sides) at leat 5 times. Unfortunately this place is very poorly managed. This reflects on the overall quality of the restaurant, which is extremely poor. Without going into the same problem details that so many others have in their reviews of this location, I will just say that the food is inferior, selections are lacking and the service is bad. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing. They served us beef brisket, which was literally 80 percent slimy fat, the other 20 percent was gristle. They forgot the dinner rolls and the sides had a strange flavor and odor. We will never go back, what a disgrace! read more

If you order from the location in Spokane Valley, WA make sure to write everything down. Every time I have had either take out or delivery they have failed to include items. This past time was the last. Half of my items were not delivered. I called to speak with a manager and was told there was not one on site. I was told that I could come in and pick the missing items up - after I had paid for delivery. 'The young staff working need supervision and help. It is always chaotic in there even when you are the only customer. We won't eat inside because of the atmosphere. Gives us a headache. I am from Texas and a life long Dickeys fan. I have recommended this place to many friends - who unfortunately have had the same issues. Well wont make that mistake again. Read the other reviews. Craving BBQ, decided to stop here. I've eaten here a few times previously and have had mixed reviews each time but it has been awhile since I've been here. My wife and I each ordered the 3 meat plate... chicken, ribs and brisket. Ribs were ok, not really meaty, quite fatty. The brisket was decent and the chicken was awful on both our plates. We each ate about 2 bites of it... couldn't finish. It was very rubbery. The sides I got were onion tang let's and baked potato casserole. The tanglers were ok, kinda greasy... the baked potato casserole wasn't very good, very bland in flavor. My wife got the Mac and cheese which she said was ok and the waffle fries which she said lacked flavor. The bbq sauces were good, nice and hot and you can mix your own. The ice cream cone was a nice end. Probably won't be back... will more than likely go to the other bbq joint in town or to the one in CDA before we go back here. This is one of our absolute favorite places in town! There was a brand new employee today. After ordering, he informed us that they were out of onion tanglers. All of a sudden, he said if we could wait 3 minutes, he could make us some onion tanglers, he just didn't want to turn on the deep frier. When we got home, this was our two meat plate, which was supposed to be pulled pork and brisket. There was not one piece of edible meat among the fat. We paid $12.95 each for this giant pile of fat. When we called to ask the employee, he called his manager, who informed him there was nothing they could do, and that they would not reimburse us or make us food that was more edible. He then would not give me his name or let me speak to any management. Terrible management and ownership!! Don't trust their meats anymore read more

We came here on a Sunday to take advantage of the kids eat free special. The service was stellar. The food was magnificent. We had the rib plate special, the green beans were not my favorite, however the Mac & Cheese more than compensated. We will definitely eat here again. Oh and their spicy BBQ sauce really complimented the ribs....I think I found my new favorite ribs spot. Well at least in the Valley, that is. Oh and there's free Ice cream...my kids were in heaven. UPDATE May 9th 2017. I advised that I would give an updated, fair, and honest review the next time I returned to the establishment. I returned and bought the very same meal that I originally wrote in about and my price was different by $2.15 less. I asked if the price was different because of a special and they responded with "I don't know". I asked to talk with a manager and was told "the manager is busy on the phone". Additionally, the tables were a little dirty, but not horrible. The one table I sat at smelled like pond water. I feel as if it was wiped down recently...but maybe with a dirty rag or the same rag that is used for multiple tables that were being wiped down. The food is tasty, but I've come to the conclusion that takeout is better than dining in. Lastly, I have been contacted by Theresa McCarty (TM) which is the manager of this franchise location after they saw my review a few months ago. They don't want to give their full name or they would of had their profile filled out and not just the initials TM. She were sincere and requested that I take down my review rating. I advised that I was going to return and have another meal here and review again based on their improvements. The restaurant is disgusting inside, the drive-thru speaker doesn't work so if you want to order you wait in line behind the person ahead of you for 15-20 min before you can even PLACE an order at the window, then wait another 15-20 for them to prepare it. Their online ordering doesn't actually work so when you arrive to the restaurant they have no idea what you are talking about. If you ask for a refund due to incorrect/cold food the manager will literally refuse. I've given this place 3 tries and this is my experience. I will never go again. read more

The ribs looked yummy, but sadly, were undercooked a tad, a bit tough and were salty. But the beans, coleslaw and green beans were not to terrible. The muffins were ok. So, not really very impressed at all. Spent a lot for a meal that all 5 of my friends agreed was not very good. Mediocre at best. This review DOES NOT deserve one star but I couldn't post it without giving them one! Visited the drive-thru at Dickey's in Spokane Valley last Sunday. First, there was a sign on the speaker that said it was broken, please drive to the window. Ordered at the window and gave them my debit card. Employee came back 15 minutes later and said they were having technical difficulties, he thinks he charged my card three times. But no food yet. 10 minutes later another employee comes to the window and says they are having technical difficulties and can't make my food. OK, I've been in the drive-thru for almost half an hour, you charged my card 3 times, why can't you make my food? She says our printer is broken and they don't know what I ordered. Funny, I gave my order verbally to the other employee. I tell her my order again and get my food about 10 minutes later. I ask about the overcharges on my card and she says THEY CAN'T HELP ME? I can wait for the manager who is on their way to the store. I wait, another 15 minutes, talk to the manager who says she fixed the overcharges but can't give me a receipt because the printer is broken? The next day I look at my bank account and the three charges are still there. I call the restaurant, and their other location in town every day for three days and am promised it will be taken care of. It was not. I called Dickey's corporate customer service and told them. Still no reversal of the overcharges. Finally I called my bank. Almost an hour wasted in the drive-thru. Obviously no other customers, does this surprise anyone who has read this so far? And the food wasn't even that good. I have been in the hospitality business my entire life, and I understand the challenges this industry is facing. But the way this situation has played out has nothing to do with challenges, it is just BAD BUSINESS. read more

Went to Dickeys Barbeque for the first time with my family and it was really tasty. We did not know how to order, and the guy at the meat counter was super helpful explaining it to us. I decided on the 2 meat selection of smoked chicken and. 2 ribs, and then added onion clusters and the potato salad. The chicken had such a nice smoky flavor and was super tender. The ribs were just smoked so they were still warm. The portion size was filling, in fact I couldn't finish the meat! Nice choices of sauces too! We received a gift certificate for Christmas. I went to the drive up today looking forward to some brisket. The time was 11:20am. I was greeted as follows " before you order, we are out of brisket, ribs and pulled pork. It won't be ready for an hour". I'm writing this as this is not the first time this has happened. I went through the drive thru a few weeks previously before today and swore I would not go back to this location. I sat at the window for ten minutes before they told me they overlooked my order. Then forgot the Okra, asked me to pull over and go inside to get it. Four times they gave the okra to someone else. Almost 20 mins later I got it. Then get home to cold meat and no bbq sauce. Tonight my wife really wanted it and I figured my last trip they were training people so I would give it another shot. We spent at least a half hour to get a take out and only one person in front of us. Not organized at all. One kid working was complaining about another co worker using quite a bit of cursing. Another lady working there had a tattoo across her chest that said "F#*# Love" I was glad my grand daughters were not with me. I don't care she has that, but at a restaurant I think it should be covered. The brisket had good flavor, but at least half of my serving was fat. We asked for Spicy and regular bbq sauce, twice. When we first got there I had to go potty so went to the bathroom. First the door doesn't shut all the way and it doesn't lock! Making it to where anyone can walk in on you! Then omg as the girl was making our food she didn't change her gloves while touching other non food items to the food items. Then as someone is walking by with the garbage she crosses over her to grab food. Then finally I ask for onions. Didn't have any cut so she had to go in the back where she proceeded to talk to the other girl for ten mins!!!! We finally pay sit down to eat and it was gross. Cold and just wasn't good. She even charged us to much. Got the change back and also told her the food was cold. She had the balls to say I was lying basically. Even though I offered to show her. Let me start out with saying if I could give this place a rating with ZERO star's I would. My wife and I visited this location last Saturday night. It was not busy at the time but the service was still slow. We finally got to order after they got done completing four or five drive-thru orders. We ordered the 3 meat combo plate with two sides. I had the Polish Sausage, Brisket and Honey Smoked Ham. My wife ordered Brisket, Turkey and Chicken. Sides were Baked Beans & Potato Salad. She had Baked Potato Casserole and Baked Beans. We got to the register and we're told that our water cups would cost us $1 each. On top of our $31.00 tab. That there left a bad taste in my mouth. Little did I know the taste to come was going to be even worse. I am a big fan of brisket when cooked right. He opened up a fresh one in front of me and it looked wonderful. Then he destroyed it while trying to carve me a piece that looked to be about 2 ounces. Each of the meat serving were measured one meat after another on the same scale. Kosher this place is not. They don't care about cross contamination of the meats. We finally sat down into a half dirty table. I won't say that the place was dirty but it did need some attending to the tables. I settled into taking a bite of my brisket and sure horror struck. It was dry, it had very little smoke flavor. It was one of the worst pieces of brisket that I've ever eaten in my life. Then I turned my attention to my Polish sausage. I took a bite and it tasted like somebody had dumped a whole can of black pepper into the mix. It was very oily and had lots of filling in it with very little meat. Without the BBQ sauce it would have been horrible. On to my Honey Smoked Ham. It was the best tasting meat on my plate. That's not saying much because it still wasn't very good. My wife and I were sharing sample pieces of each other's meat from our plates. Since I already had the misfit brisket I took a sample of her chicken and turkey. The chicken rated right there with my ham the turkey was a different story. It actually had a nice Smokey flavor and was somewhat juicy. Without question the best meat on two plates. Now to the sides. The baked beans were not half bad. A little spicier than I would have liked them but I've had much worse. Very good potato salad, it was the best part of either meal. The Baked Potato Casserole finished in second place. A family sitting across the aisle from us were complaining that it cost them $75 for four people to eat basically fast food take-out style food. This facility offers a free soft serve ice cream cone at the end of the meal. However, they only supplied the smallest cones they could find with the machine. The family that spent $75.00, said the best part of their meal was the free soft serve. As we were leaving surely disappointed, we passed a family that had just sat down to eat. They too were complaining about the cost. The wife commented after tasting the brisket that she does not like brisket. I overheard this comment and stopped and assured her that what she was eating tasted nothing like brisket should. Her husband who had eaten brisket before acknowledged that I was absolutely correct. In closing, when I got to the register and they wanted to charge me a dollar for each cup for chlorinated tap water. I should have just turned around and walked out the door. I would have been much happier. Just to let you know there was so little food on our plates that we stopped by Dairy Queen down the street and had an ice cream sunday. It was more filling then the $31 meal that we had just consumed minutes before. Normally I give a restaurant a couple of chances. Not this place. I will never step foot in this facility again and forecast that it will not be there in four months. Venture at your own risk!!!! No complaints after the fact. Decided to try this place because I've heard good things about it and felt like BBQ. When I went through the drive thru first impressions were good. The first thing they told me when I started to order was the meats they were out of which I thought was pretty cool. Once I ordered and paid I waited about 7 minutes which I didn't mind because I knew they were actually preparing my food. When he handed me the bag I said thank you and drove off. Once I got home I noticed half my order was missing. Never once did he say "the rest will be out in a minute" or anything like that. I ordered the 2 meat combo which included brisket and ribs. In my opinion both meats were tasteless and had little flavor to them. The BBQ sauces that I go were the spicy and sweet. Again little flavor to the sauces and they were very thin so they wouldn't really stick to the meat. Good idea for a restaurant, but next time I'm in the mood for BBQ, I'll just plan on smoking my own. read more

Came here because we had a coupon. Start off by going through the drive thru to find out half the menu was not available. So we settled on a pulled pork sandwich and a big cup. Get to the window and they don't accept coupons, would have drove off but struggling business so we thought we should support. Cost almost $12 bc they have a $2.75 up charge. Portions sizes also extremely small for the price paid. About 4 lettuce leaves and a few croutons were the side salad. Won't be back ever. When I got home with the food, there was no BRISKET SLICES and no coleslaw. There were brisket cut into chunks that were dry and tough. I can make better BRISKET. They need to learn how to cook a whole lot before they can call that Texas Brisket. Not tender not juicy not worth the money spent. Stay away from Dickeys. After trying Dickies twice including the location way up North at Wandermere. I would say to avoid Dickies. The food is nothing special, especially for smoked meat, I felt the need to smother the brisket in sauce for flavor. The original barbecue sauce was fairly good tasting, especially the sweet sauce. Classic case of when an item is spicy but is not sold as spicy, AKA the green beans with bacon. Very tiny location, can't really bring a family bigger then four, even three was pushing it.
