We have been to Dicky's Barbecue Pit a few times and it's always been excellent. Everyone is so nice, place is clean and you can tell by the other customers around you how much their enjoying it too! Today they went beyond the call of duty for me when asking for quotes for a upcoming Christmas Party. They ask me how many people and called me immediately back with a price which I felt was very reasonable. However, it was decided to go a different way with party food. That was so unfortunate because it would of been so much cheaper, no hassle, and a perfect great party with a fantastic meal. What it will cost for how they are planning is beyond the quote I got from Dickey's. So much work when you have pitch ins and some never bring anything. Someone always draws the short end of the stick with pitch ins. But I'm going to use them for planned parties in the near future in my area where I work. The fact they took my name and number, worked up a quote for a combination of different meats just shows you how much they care about customer service. They couldn't of been any nicer. So if you have a get together or any party of any kind, call them and believe me, it was way less than I ever thought it would be and I know it definitely would of been good. I picked combination, but you can get anything you want. Add side dishes and it's even cheaper. I just appreciated their kindness, the time they took figuring it up as well as their understanding when I said they had decided to go a different way with the Christmas Party. They were still very nice to me and said thank you even and maybe next time we can help you out. That understanding and kindness goes a long way when so many businesses act like they could care less. Like all things in this little town, if you don't have patience or the time. You should avoid this place. I think this establishment has potential and I'll give them the benefit of doubt because opening a new restaurant is going to be rough until they work out all the kinks. They have one guy who makes the food and he has to remember your order and let's just say he's not the brightest bulb. He then has to repeat the order to the cashier so they can ring you up. Out of the 4 times I've been here, they have yet to get it right. They really need to work out a new system. The food is pretty tasty, they have 3 types of BBQ sauce from hot to Sweet. They keep the place pretty tidy. (No sticky tables) If you see 4 or more people in line, be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes before you can get your order in. read more

Apparently someone at Yelp took down my negative review of Dickey's in Yucca Valley. As I previously stated, all of the dishes were way too salty, the cashier upsold all the side dishes at three times the rate he told us it would be and he somehow added $6 to my plate of ribs. I recently had Dickey's cater my husband's surprise 40th and was so, so pleased!! The person who helped me, Edward, went waaaay out of his way to be accommodating, polite, and helpful. I truly didn't have to worry about a thing. They were able to work around my schedule and the surprise aspect. They were diligent about making sure the food was delivered at the right time, set everything up perfectly, and even helped me find tables and chairs!! I was in Yucca visiting my family and heard about this BBQ place. I found it with ease and was really craving good BBQ. To my surprise it was very different than most BBQ places I'd been as the atmosphere was casual, comfortable and clean. Walking in the door I was immediately aware of the most wonderful aroma. I perused the menu and was pleasantly surprised at the variety and that they had creamed spinach which I love. The employees were knowledgeable, helpful & friendly & helped me make my choices. If I had my way 0 stars. I went in to pick up a meal for a friend in the hospital and what I got was 6 small very small ribs. Added cole slaw and beans and a coke, 18 dollars.the ribs were dry. I cook better ribs at home. What I got for 18 dollars went in the trash.the place was empty at rush hour dinner now I now why. The food is good, but this location is lacking from what I'm used to. First sadness was no fried okra. That is my #1 side so I felt lost after that. The baked potato casserole was missing the toppings. They don't have a soft serve machine and no tooth picks. Overall I just felt like it was half of an experience. Though some reviews were a little lower rated, my experience here was great. My boyfriend and I came here after class for a late lunch today. It wasn't packed or crowded, but maybe because it was the middle of the afternoon on a Friday when no one was really off from work/school/practice yet. My boyfriend ordered a 1-pound beef sandwich, and I had their Beefy Mac (bc I LOVE mac and cheese). He had been craving some sort of burger/sandwich all day, and when he took his first bite, he immediately said we were definitely coming back. I took my first bite of my beef-sprinkled mac and cheese, and I immediately agreed. The food here was great, and we both enjoyed the vibe inside the restaurant. Wow! I often eat at the Dickeys in Rancho Mirage and love it. I was hiking in Joshua Tree over the weekend and was delighted there was a Dickeys in Yucca Valley. The food was just as amazing, the restaurant was clean and the staff was amazing. Pulled pork is still my favorite! read more

The ribs are absolutely delicious, i had a half slab of pork ribs are between my sister and i we loved them. I always get some hot bbq sauce on the side and dip them in it for yums, i wonder if they bottle this stuff and sell it hmmm.. Ok this was surprise for me but there pecan pie was amazing although last time i went they ran out. One thing i would like to see improved on is portion control especially on there sides, i had my side half filled and didn't realize it until i got home. Would i go back? Absolutely. read more

Been to this Dickeys twice now on my way through Yucca and I def can't complain, I recommend the race track its bomb! It's centrally located, right off the highway and close to walmart and Home Depot. It's also the best place to get some brisket if your a brisket fan such as myself you know what I'm talking about. We came in this afternoon and only 3 other tables had customers. Condiment bar was a disgusting mess. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich which was just ok, nothing special. The bread was shiny with butter or oil and I didn't eat half of it. My bf ordered ribs and brisket. The ribs were so salty that he didn't eat them, the beans and potato salad were bland at best. $30 for lunch that most of it went in the trash. read more

Went for our first time and was not a fan. There were 4 people standing around and one poor girl helping everyone. I had the beef and cheese sandwich, which had cold sliced cheese and the meat was dry. My daughter had the mac and cheese and it tasted bland. My husband had a sausage sandwich that was average. The iced tea was spoiled. All of the BBQ warmers were empty. For $40 we would have much rather went to another establishment. Need an end of the week victory dinner?! This is the place to go! My husband and I came in at about 7 and were immediately greeted by Annie. Nervous because it was so late (for Yucca, that is...) we asked what they were out of. Annie quickly replied, "Nothing. We've got it all!" We ordered the Friday meal deal with pulled pork, two sides, a roll and a drink! Right away she began getting our meals ready, asking how our days were and answering any questions we had about the various sides. She offered us bbq sauce, and pickles to go with our meals. Everything is a little weird right now due to the pandemic, but Annie was so friendly and helpful that it really made our dinner enjoyable! When we got home, the food was hot, fresh and delicious! I loved this place my wife and I have tried all the other local BBQ around us this restaurant was by far the best. The food was outstanding in portion size and taste, the customer service matched. I'm from Kansas City and have eaten lots of BBQ in my life and have missed it since moving to California. Two stars because the food is good and the staff was quite courteous. But waiting in line for 40 minutes and then realizing when you finally make it up to the counter that one person is making the sandwiches and one other person is wrapping the sandwiches and filling the side orders is too much to accept as just a busy afternoon. I heard others talking behind me that they had friends who had been in before them and experienced the same problem. No food is worth standing in line for that amount of time. I might consider ordering again but it will be online. I have been in the Dickey's in Palm Springs and I have seen what good planning and training with your staff can do. I get to write the first review and sadly it is not a good one. I went in to Dickeys last night i bought a pound of beef brisket and some sides. Me and my girlfriend got home and started eating and after a few bites she pulled out a 10 inch black hair out of her mouth and we were both absolutely disgusted. I called the and asked to talk to the manager on duty his name was Steven. To my surprise he was very defensive and told me that no one was working last night with long hair did and not even apologize! He asked me to provide my check number so he can get me a new pound of brisket but instead of doing so i am writing this review. I don't want more brisket with hair in it. Really grossed out and will not be back to this location ever. Also their menu is a lot different than any other Dickeys i have been to which is confusing at first. This place doesn't have it together yet at all. Last time they gave me all my sides with no lids and saran wrap over everything what a huge mess and last night i got rolls which were not the regular rolls, they were the kings Hawaiian store bought rolls and were tiny. I wish i could give a zero star rating for discrimination against disabilities. My boyfriend and I were excited to try the new Dickey's in yucca. We walked in with my 8lb seizure dog because I have seizures and she acts as my alarm system giving me warnings if one is about to happen. An employee came up and said no allowed so I told him she's a service dog she just wasnt wearing her vest (it hurts my arm!) and he walks away. We were next in line and he came back and said a man is threatening to sue them if we don't leave with our dog. So we left. This employee would rather throw out a girl who has seizure than an old man trying to cause trouble. He didn't stand up for us or anything. It was discrimination. I can't help my disability. It was hurtful and uncalled for and embarrassing having to proclaim to the whole restaurant that I have seizures. It's not something I like to announce. I wish I had got that employees name so I could call him out. We will never go to this restaurant again unfortunately. We won't stand for any discrimination what so ever. read more

Didn't really care to much for Dickies. First time trying it and was more disappointed in what I saw. Ordered the xl meal. And really wanted ribs but they were out for the moment. They said it would take about 15mins to be ready and I told them I would wait. THEN, they said "well it could take longer". So I just said forget then. The brisket and pork were very tender but had the same exact taste. Wish I had tried the macaroni n cheese but they said they were all out of it. But a few mins later I see a BAG, yes a BAG of mac n cheese being boiled. Potato salad is from a carton that you can buy from your local grocery store, (how do I know this? Bcuz I seen them pouring it into their containers). I thought all their sides were "homemade". Nope, basically factory made. Smoked kielbasa was good tho. Coslaw was good and tasted just like KFC. They do need to work on some kind of new cups for the BBQ sauces. The cups are plastic and all the sauces are heated and start to melt the plastic cups. Not good when you're taking food to go. Not sure if we'll be back. I really want to try the ribs but not sure if $25 a rack is worth it. read more

We gave our order and were confused when what we ordered wasn't what we got. I tried to explain to them what we wanted (and what we thought we ordered). I even pointed to their menu board as to what we (thought) we were ordering. The girl at the register said their menu board wasn't correct and that they didn't serve what was on their board! Then why have it up there??? Then a man came up (the manager???) he was extremely rude and just said the same thing she did. We took what they gave us and it was inedible-dry, tasteless. Very disappointed. For a BBQ place you look for HOT meat and sides. By the time you get through the ordering, your meat is cold. You also want it to be a juicy piece of meat, well niether one of those is what you get. They charge you a lot for dry cool meat and lukewarm sides. The only reason for the 2 stars is because hubby says the jalapeño sausage is good other then that stay away!! read more

The food is delicious & the staff is awesome. The menu is really good! I'm going to eat there a lot more often. The ribs are amazing
