    Lechon & pancit
    Kathy A.

Out getting my Covid and Flu shots at Safeway Pharmacy I had time to kill. Didn't want Chili's or McD so decided to try Dick's Lechon which is one of the food trucks lining the far since of the parking lot past Petco. I'm a fan of Lechon, pancit and all the dishes making up Filipino Cuisine (won't eat balut though) so this place has been on my radar for some time. Actually got here about 1:15 after the lunch crowd so timing was perfect. After perusing the menu I decided to have the Lechon and Pancit plate. As I waited I looked around for someplace to eat. Unfortunately are no tables or chairs so you either eat in your car or find somewhere out of that area to eat your lunch. Not a fan of either of those options but since I didn't realize this before I ordered I just ate in my car. The Lechon is very lean, nice crispy skin and a subtle smoky flavor. I liked it although I do prefer a more fatty Lechon. The pancit was the Shanghai version with the skinny noodles and slivers of carrot, celery and cabbage, my favorite! Would I return....yes but not with an appointment afterwards as I would just take my food choice home.

Our go to place for lechon. Dick Lechon truck in Waipahu is the best in my opinion. Crispy roasted pork with cracklin skin, pancit, fried rice and that famous sauce with a hint of vinegar to cleanse the palette. Service is always quick and you can't beat the outside ambiance on a beautiful sunny day in April.

Always - when ever I have a craving for Lechon and Pancit, I visit Dick's Lechon! Its the perfect savory dish, and the lechon is really yummy with its crispy/juicyness.

Whenever I have a craving for lechon, I want to get it from here even though it's a bit of drive from town. Always fresh, crispy and very flavorful. Last plate I got had a generous amount of garlic cloves. Gotta eat em right away because it's not the same quality once you let it sit. It will get soggy if you wait too long. A bit pricey, but hey what isn't pricey these days, especially in Hawaii Local friendly service. Only reason I give 4 stars is because the pricing on the menu is confusing.

Wonderful Service! We decided to get the Whole Lechon Belly for New Year's Eve which it also comes with 1 med pan of Pancit or Fried Rice. They provide their phone number on their AD & Instagram which you could call or text and they have responded urgently back to me. They had lots of Rolled Pork Belly available and I didn't have to make a deposit. The pancit looked & tasted really good and the lechon was nice and crispy. I would say it was also a decent size. They were really flexible with the pick up time as my pick up was 4PM and I ended coming late due to traffic on the free way. I was still able to pick it up close to closing time. Lots of parking in the area and the pick up was at the truck in Waikele so it wasn't a problem at all. Very well done and a good deal for $178 for both Whole Lechon Belly and 1 med pan Pancit. Highly recommend if you have a last minute event. Definitely worth the holiday special!

Lechon is bomb very crispy and meat is nice juicy and tender, skin super crunchy! Pancit was great a bit on salty side but still very tasty, pork BBQ sticks were not overly sweet, perfectly seasoned! Don't forget to ask for containers for dipping sauces! They have 4 different sauces! I love the soy sauce shoyu pairs so well with rice, BBQ sticks, and Lechon belly! Lots of parking! There sometimes is a line, it moves by fast and I didn't wait long for my order in the 2 times I've gone there! Located in a parking lot next to Petco and old navy outlet! Plate lunches at reasonable price! Pink truck you cannot miss it! Will definitely eat again when I'm around!! Highly recommend!!

10/10 would recommend!!! I saw this food truck on Instagram and was excited for a Filipino food truck! Great variety to choose from and good portions. Got there as soon as they opened and their food was hot and fresh!

Mmmm lechon special cravings hit the spot. Crunch and tasty. Didn't have pinakbet today but that's ok. Super quick service despite lunch hour. Thumbs up here.

Crispy lechon on top of fried rice? Very delicious. The lechon is crispy and there's actual meat, not just fat. Would order it again, had tiny bit of a line just as Sunday service just got done, got the food fresh though and didn't wait terribly long no more that +15 min

Ordered the lechon fried rice omelete. (Their spelling) Was only ok. Omelette was fine, but very plain. Lechon was ok, could have used a bit more salt. Only burnt parts were crunchy. Skin was not. Maybe if it wasn't under the egg it might have been crunchy, will never know. Fried rice was oily and needed salt. Portion was big. You tell them if you want a container for sauce. You need to know what they are because the bottles aren't labeled. Also, the bottles need to be wiped down - they're very sticky on the outside. Probably won't return to this lunch truck.

Came here on Sunday 8/24 and got my food 12:20pm. This was my first time eating here and last. It wasn't busy, just a few people in front of me. There were two guys that I could see working in the truck. The thinner guy took my order (2 choice Lechon with all rice x2 and pork lumpia). While waiting for my food, the bigger guy was VAPING inside of the food truck! Just gross and against health code. Got home and opened my plate, the pork was pink... I read other reviews as well saying they got pink pork. This was a huge disappointment.

Called bc i didn't get a receipt but she argued I did and got an attitude from the start.

We ordered an Elena's Mixed Plate 2 plate combo with Diniguan and Monggo Beans with Pork, it came with two scoops of rice. And we also ordered the March Special which had Pancit, Gisantes, Lechon and Pork Adobo Fried Omelet. The Diniguan was made perfectly! Not sour at all but just the perfect amount of flavor.. the Monggo Beans with Pork were cooked perfectly with delicious pork pieces inside. The March Special was such a good deal! The Pancit, made just right, thr Gisantes, spot on, thr Lechon, amazingly fried and the Pork Adibo Fried Omlete was absolutely delicious! Something i didnt know I needed! The rice was also cooked perfectly, not mushy or under cooked but just right! We got cups of water to drink and they brought us out two cups and a pitcher to refill our cups at the table which I can appreciate.. It might've been the search for fried chicken to which Minasa didn't disappoint. We arrived just after opening and happened to get the last open table - after ordering, of course. The restaurant is clean and well put together with darker accents. Our food came out relatively quick - having the chef's special and ube churros. The kalbi sauce soaking into the rice was the perfect balance of flavors. Same for the calamansi fried chicken. Lechon, I must say was also a fine example of how seriously the chefs take their selection of ingredients - as I looked closer, it had the classic 5 layers (shown in my photo). Usually, this is the prime factor in the perfect roast pork - providing juicy layers of pork meat. Overall, this has been the best (new) meal we've had in a LONG time. It was so delicious, I could only wish there was a way to share this place with a larger collection of diners because frankly, if you haven't tried this place, I honestly think you're missing out on the definition of culinary art. Each dish carefully crafted with the goal of providing the best experience to all the patrons. I seriously seriously hope you all have a chance to visit. If we're ever back on this side of the island, we won't hesitate to stop by.

Last weekend was the weekend we finally were able to eat here being in Waipahu and the wait finally ended! We ordered the chef's special, salted egg fried rice, ube churros, and banana lumpia sundae. The dishes were colorful and vibrant. Everything tasted good but we were looking for that twist that was hyped up to us and there was nothing unfamiliar to our taste buds. Though we left full and enjoyed our meal, the "new" flavors didn't stand out. Overall we were quite underwhelmed especially with all the hype that was given to us over their food. Maybe I ordered the wrong things? Not sure but we'll likely give this a second shot when we're in Waipahu again at the right time.

I ordered their pork sisig with rice, and it sure was still delish! Pro tip for the business is using calamansi instead of lemon (but still good!). My order seems like it is for just one person but honestly, if you share it with another person, you'd still be satisfied because it is stomach-heavy! If you didn't have much to eat throughout the day, you could easily demolish the sisig dish I ordered. For drinks, they have canned sodas inside for $2.00 but I decided to get some smoothies at Hang's just doors down the place. As the parking spot may fill up, you can always drop a buddy off to pick up some to-go order. I have yet to try some of their other dishes such as their beef pares noodles. So--if you are craving ramen--try switching it up and get some of their noodles! I also recommend getting bulk orders for parties! Mahalo and I hope this business continues to reap success!

We were spoiled to the max! The owners and their family run the place and in true Filipino hospitality, they served us buffet/family style and entertained us with their stories from their humble beginnings to what they are today. The food was the best I've had in the Island. Hands down. Everything tasted nostalgic because the technique used in cooking each dish tasted like a handed down recipe from a grandma's kitchen from back home in the motherland. If you're ever in the island of Oahu please make your way to Waipahu and sample as much of their offerings as you can and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed! 10/10 recommended coming from a humble cook who rarely raves about Filipino food because I myself learned from my paternal grandmother.

They're located on the corner and once you see a tent & smell bbq, you're at the right spot. This restaurant gave karinderia vibe to it! Karinderia is basically like those food stalls they have in the Philippines, where they have a bunch of dishes and you sit out to enjoy the food. Home cooked & affordable eats. They have everything from bbq sticks, adobo, lechon, kilawan, lumpia and more. I got the bbq stick & chicken inasal plate. The bbq stick was packed with so much flavor! The chicken inasal was more on the huli huli side & was served with Filipino dipping sauce. They also offer free sabaw with your meal. Ordering was a little complicating, they have a menu outside with food and also more food inside. The bbq items were cooked by order and the inside food had more of the Filipino dishes like (adobo). But next to the cashier, you could also find other fried dishes as well. So a little complicated. You also have the option to sit outside under the tent or inside the restaurant with AC. For this type of place, if you're dining in, you order & eat first then pay. Like any karindera. Overall, this place was VERY good & SUPER AFFORDABLE. If you want to experience a true Filipino experience with great food, this place is for you.

Everything was pretty delicious. The pork adobo was super fatty, but delicious and tender. The pinakbet was flavorful, but I wish there were more squash and meat. The pork guisantes meat was pretty tough. The halohalo was huge, but I wish it was a bit sweeter. The casscaron and banana lumpia were amazing. Staff are super friendly. Lots of table to dine at and a decent sized parking lot. They don't have a menu and they only serve 1-2 choice plates, no more, but you can order side dishes as well. They said the 2 choice plates are under $20.

Some were in the steam table and some were simply placed on the counter on a plate with no heating underneath. There was a full spread of Filipino food straight from my childhood but what I was looking for was biko and bud bud and that I found! Those two items were only about $10. It was exactly like I expected. The bud bud was colored purple. It was perfect dipped in sugar! The biko was also very good. I always get transported back in my mind to days when my mom would bring me to Filipino potluck parties where I got to enjoy food from my culture. I'm glad this place exists and I'll be back to give them another try.
