Oh my goodness, this place was fabulous. A Latin fusion concept that knocked it outta the park! We ordered shrimp rangoons with Thai chili dipping sauce. I had the bbq brisket nachos and my fiancé had the Korean tacos with house made kimchi. We loved it all. The cocktails, forgot to snap a pic of those. We also ordered the tres leches to go but I would skip this. The cake was super dry despite the leches. Service overall was great. The atmosphere was edgy and fun. Catching the sunset over the water out of the back window was a nice treat.

Love me some tacos and when it is a Tuesday all you can eat all I can say is game on!!! Always enjoy a stop in at Diego's to sample the goods and wash it down with some spirits! The Harvest Margarita was delicious and a perfect fall drink to enjoy. Service was great as the place was busy and the tacos kept coming! Good for group setting or just hanging out by yourself at the bar. Don't pass up this Tuesday night delight!

Spent nearly $100 on a takeout order for the family, first time eating here. Three of us got quesadillas. Seriously, my son's kids meal had more food than one $20 quesadilla. It was insane. This item should be on the appetizer menu or children's portion size. It was about 1/2 a quesadilla. We were all disappointed- Won't be back. Thank you.

Me and some girls were in town for the weekend and wanted to go out for one of their birthdays to celebrate. She loves Mexican food so we chose here. The menu had plenty of options for all of our tastes. I made a mistake on the reservation, but they were still able to accommodate us. The noise was a bit overwhelming, even though it wasn't very crowded, but that's only because it was a smaller space. We all got a cocktail to start and it was perfect. After we had our meal, they surprise my friend with a birthday dessert. We all had some, and it was amazing. Would definitely come again.

The service here is exceptional! The waitress was extremely kind and attentive. Went for taco Tuesday in the early evening and it wasn't too busy. Outdoor seating was gorgeous, sat outside in the upper deck patio. Chips and salsa were incredible. Could tell that the chips were homemade. Salsa wasn't spicy but had a distinct flavor and taste. The gringo tacos were really crispy, but much smaller than I expected. Not a whole lot of ground beef inside or other fixings. Not sure even with the taco Tuesday deal if the two tacos were worth $7. The BLAT tacos were crispy fried pork belly, this tasted really delicious, and went well with the crema and pickled cabbage. Rice and beans were pretty standard for a Mexican spot. Came with a little bit of homemade pico too! Overall not the most authentic Mexican spot, but pretty decent for Newport and you can't beat the ambiance, service, and the views.

This margarita hits the spot with enough salt on the rim.

Navigating the challenging parking situation at Bowen's Wharf, Diego's offers a delightful experience with its exceptional food. I indulged in the flavorful Korean BBQ pork belly tacos and Crispy Brussels with Ponzu and Garlic for appetizers--delicious! Accompanied by a generously poured margarita served in a mason jar glass, the traffic involved in getting here became much more manageable. While perusing the menu, I made mental notes of other appetizers and entrees for a future visit. The Arugula & Street Corn Salad caught my eye, and I'm intrigued by the tempting description of Pimientos de Sal (shishito peppers with aioli). Diego's also boasts a full Vegan menu, not just a few options, which I find commendable. Oyster Mushroom tacos, Roasted Beet and Butternut Squash tacos, and Buffalo Cauliflower Burrito--all sound appetizing, even for a non-vegan like me. They also offer a complete Gluten-Free menu. (Note: If you choose to park in the lot where The Mooring Seafood & Kitchen Bar is located, be prepared for steep parking fees.)

One thing I really appreciated was that they offer a separate vegan menu. As someone who enjoys having plant-based options, I wish more restaurants did this. Unfortunately, the service was hit or miss. Our waiter was not very attentive, and on several occasions we had to rely on other waitresses to help us get his attention when we needed something. We started with two upgraded margaritas, a strawberry and a coconut. Both were delicious and probably the highlight of the meal. However, we noticed we were charged $1 more per drink than the menu listed, which was disappointing. We also ordered the Chips 4 Ways appetizer, which comes with four different salsas and chips. While everything tasted good, the portions were quite small. There weren't many chips, and each salsa appeared to be only about 2-3 ounces. For $13, it didn't feel like a great value. For our entrees, I ordered the vegan tofu tacos. They were okay, but the tofu was extremely chewy and seemed overcooked. My husband ordered the fajitas, which were tasty but surprisingly small for a $33 entrée. Overall, the food was decent and there were definitely some positives, especially the margaritas and the vegan menu options. However, between the inattentive service, small portions, and pricing, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. We'd likely give Diego's another chance, but we'd probably order differently next time.

Every table and bar seat was packed so I highly recommend having a reservation or be prepared to wait a bit. The Romaine & Kale Caesar Salad with Chicken Milanese was genuinely tremendous. Such an elite combination from the freshness & creaminess of the salad to the crispiness and saltiness of the Chicken Milanese. Since we were sharing, they pre-split the portion for us which was a nice hassle-free experience. I could've honestly ended the meal here and been super content. I rarely see oven roasted pizza on the menu so we decided to try the Oven Roasted Chicken Grilled Pizza. The best part was actually the dough; it's thin enough where the roasted/grilled flavor comes through. The pesto and arugula were both good and paired well with the grilled chicken. The Tagliatelle was savory, earthy, and not overly creamy. The pasta itself was cooked just right. Since we were celebrating a birthday, I was so grateful that they offered us a complimentary slice of Limoncello Mascarpone Cake. It was so good! Moist, creamy, and not too sweet or citrusy. It was a pleasant bite to end the meal on. Great spot!

Leaving the parking lot here is only second to KFC/Domino's, in terms of stupidity. The positives here are no crunchy rice, I can get a horchata or tamarind drink, a large selection of Jarritos soda, and the chip bags are always stuffed completely full. (I will have to say, though, I love the lime salt that Chipotle uses on their chips) I tend to order taco salads here, and the portion sizes are pretty darn good. I will, however, suggest getting either the green hot or medium hot sauce, mixed with the hot. The hot sauce has a decent amount of heat, but not much depth of flavor. All in all, this is a pretty solid fast food choice.

My friend and I were discussing how the flavor and texture of the chips have changed for the worst over time - they use to be lighter and crispier, with lime and salt. The bag does bring a good amount, enough for two people to share. The lemonade drinks in the dispensers are good, and I like that they let you pour it yourself because we tried different combinations. The staff was kind and efficient.

The service was exceptional, and the menu boasts an impressive array of authentic Mexican dishes, including mole and pumpkin sauces--definitely not Tex-Mex. This is a much-needed addition to the local dining scene, as Rhode Island is not renowned for its Mexican or Tex-Mex options. Currently, Pero Solado is one of the few decent spots on the island, with a few more in the Providence and Central Falls area. Note that they do not have a liquor license, so you can enjoy Mexican sodas instead. Our meal consisted of guacamole and chips, carne asada, three tacos, and a side of beans. Everything was delicious; the beans were clearly homemade, and the tortillas were made from corn. The pricing was generally good, although the guacamole and chips at $10 seemed a bit steep.
