Seared Wild Salmon, Crispy Tofu, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Charred Broccoli with Lemon and Tomatoes & Cucumbers
    Lina T.

I came to Dig Inn on a Saturday afternoon with my family. We had just finished at the playground and the kids were hungry so we were looking for something fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant, you seat yourself after you order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we arrived, the staff warmly greeted us and asked if we had any questions about the menu. My kids took some time deciding what they wanted, but we never felt rushed by the staff. I love that you can clearly see all of the food options.... think of the Cava setup with picking your base, sides and protein. I was able to lift my son up and let him point out what he wanted. We ordered alot of the options: Charred Chicken, Seared Wild Salmon, Crispy Tofu, Sheet Tray Carrots, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Charred Broccoli with Lemon and Tomatoes & Cucumbers. You can tell all of the food here is freshly made, well seasoned and high quality. My favorites were the Salmon, Crispy Tofu and Roasted Sweet Potatoes. Overall, my family and I had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the staff were so warm and welcoming. I will definitely be back in the future to try more menu items! :)

Awesome food for the price point in terms of taste and nutritional value! For protein, I tried their salmon, charred chicken, and tofu. Their tofu is amazing. Great texture and taste. I personally not a big fan of their charred chicken cuz I don't like a spice they put in (likely fennel seed). Farro salad was great! I love barley and thus keep getting it. It is quite flavorful. However, they added bits of candied citrus peels in it and I caught me off-guard sometimes heh. I adore their carrots and broccoli both are perfectly seasoned and the portion is generous (big trunks!) We ordered thru app on Monday. I was so impressed and we got food from them again on Tuesday as well. Will definitely coming back.

Affordable and delicious fast casual spot. I got the tofu bowl with carrots, kale Caesar salad, and cous cous. Super filling as well, will definitely add to my fast casual rotation.

Cheap, healthy AND delicious is a combo that is typically hard to find. They even give you a stamp card for a free bowl!! In this economy?? YES PLEASE I got the bowl with 4 sides (no protein). I got the cucumber salad (super refreshing amazing), carrots (good), mint spring mix (could skip next time) BUT THE TRUE STAR IS THEIR MAC N CHEESE !!!!!! That's what I want, that's all I want really. This bowl exists just to balance out the goodness and richness of the Mac n cheese. It costs 50c extra but is so worth, please get it in my honor.

Salmon Bowl was yummy - a scratch kitchen - the broccoli, and the carrots were excellent - the carrots were almost candied. The service was quick! Just your ordinary fast food for the healthy - a mother and daughter came in the daughter looked at the menu and they turned around and walked out. The mom wanted the food, but I don't think the kid did. Oh well yeah.

Lovedddddd. Never heard of this place but one of my job's locations is in Bethesda Row, so I popped in on a stroll during lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is casual seating here, but I came for takeout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were super friendly and I asked their recommendation. The hot chicken was highly ranked and it certainly did not disappoint. It came with charred veggies and Mac and cheese. I gotta take hubby here, just looking at this picture again for me craving.

The most comforting meal was enjoyed at this fast-casual dining spot at DIG Where something good is always cooking ‍ Especially with their new winter menu! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love snuggling up on the couch with comforting food for a cozy night in![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I loved the food and comforting vibes so much!

Charred Chicken Thigh, Sweet Potato, Tomatoes & Cucumbers, and Mac & Cheese. (1.17.25)
    Carroll N.

1.17.25 Healthy food with a concept similar to Chipotle in which you select a protein and up to three sides. I selected the charred chicken thigh and for my sides I selected mac & cheese, tomato, and cucumber and sweet potatoes. I selected sauces and only remember two of them. The ranch and garlic aioli were really good. Food came out hot. I liked the mac & cheese the most. The chicken tasted good with the sauces and the tomato and cucumber was good as well. Service was friendly, and I was acknowledged upon entering the restaurant.

Browning avocados and black burnt carrots underneath
    Hali Y.

Maybe just this location but the food we got was not fresh. Old rotten salad and brown avocado in the avo grain bowl. The tomatoes were rock hard, and carrots were burnt. On the plus side the crispy tofu was nicely done. We also had a bbq brisket bowl that was much better, but much smaller than the avo grain bowl. For this kind of inconsistency, it's hard to make an argument for us to dine here again.

Healthy. Delicious. Affordable. The above mentioned "trifecta" is not that easy to come by in Bethesda. Maybe you get lucky once in a while, and hit an exacta - but this three for threeness is a bit of a unicorn in these parts. Let's start with the food. It was literally exactly what I was searching for. I didn't want a sandwich; and I didn't want to sit down and pay $60 for lunch. So, I reached for my trusty phone, and "yelped it up". Dig came across my feed, so I decided to check it out. I walked there from my spot on Old Georgetown Rd (that was a bit of a mistake - it was dang near the century mark today - but I sure was hungry when I got there). As an aside - or a preface - I'm not a vegetarian. I'm so comfortable with my position at the top of the food chain. With that being said, they had a plethora of veg on offer that looked extra good. I went in for some green beans, tomato cucumber salad, and a summer corn medley (for lack of a better term) - all paired with a crispy chicken thigh. I have to tell you dear reader, there was LOTS of flavour packed into that veggie-laden bowl. Every component of the dish "Hit". I (figuratively - thankfully)) smashed it. Let's move on to another noteworthy point. I think I spent about $16 including the tip. If you're living here, you can make that work all day, and twice on Sunday. I'm def going to be "digging" into the rest of the veggie menu as I try to shed a couple summer lbs. The last thing worth mentioning is how cool the staff is. I'm from Philly (I'm proud of it - don't judge), and I felt a little bit of home as I was greeted as "my guy". That's some isht I've heard a thousand times in the 215th. "Chillin', chillin', bruv." Let's get this grub on. Guard wayyyy down. In summation, I really wanted to sit down and write a review on the very day I experienced this little joint for the first time, lest my enthusiasm wane. If you live in the area, hit up Dig. If you're passing through, hit up Dig. If you're looking for a neat lunch destination - you guessed it - hit up Dig. JG

We wanted to love Dig. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The design is slick and the menu includes better for you food, including lots of fresh vegetables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, my entire family walked away not enjoying our dinner. The chicken on their sandwich was undercooked and I got food poisoning from it. Despite being told the honey glaze on my wife's bowl would be on the side, it was poured in mounds on top creating an overpowering experience. Our eight-year-old daughter didn't love her mac and cheese. We'll return to give them a second chance as it may have been an off day, but we didn't love our dinner.

Came here for dinner on a Monday evening. Was able to find a metered parking spot a couple blocks away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside had a lot of tables and some outdoor seating available as well![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu looked very good! I decided to make my own bowl. The workers were very patient while me and gave recommendations! I wish you could pick more sides when you picked your own bowl. I ordered the chicken, herb rice, cashew kale caesar and carrots with pesto and garlic aioli. It was very yummy and ingredients tasted fresh. I wish the portions were a little bigger because I was still a little hungry after. Prices were fair for ~$14.

    Flourless Brownie

I'm still wondering how I missed this place when I traveled to Bethesda; you really can't miss it. I went there for dinner at a special event. Upon our arrival, the chef gave us a special treat and set up stations to make our own focaccia bread, which we could then cook and take home. Of course, he inspired us on how to tailor our bread. Thank you, chef. This is a nice touch to the evening festivities. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant's atmosphere was lively and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was terrific and attentive. I chose the Homestyle Herb Chicken, which was so delicious: tender and well-seasoned with a bit of gravy. The mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli were cooked to perfection. For dessert, I chose the flourless brownies, which were mouth-watering. Let me remind you that I've said in other reviews that I'm not a dessert person and especially not a brownie person for some reason. Please forgive me if I offended you with this. To save face, I ate one and was blown away by how soft and moist it was; it melted in my mouth. It took everything within me not to take two brownies off the plate, wrap them in a napkin, and place them in my purse. I was trying to show some décor... Now that I know about this place, I certainly will be back.

True Food Kitchen (TKF) shows that it's never too late to make an amazing second 1st impression!…read more Back in mid-2018, my dining companion and I gave TFK a try because we had known about Founder Dr. Andrew Weil's work in integrative medicine and were curious how he would apply his healthful ways into cuisine. While nothing was fundamentally wrong (the Burger was certainly fine), the food tasted of stereotypical "health food," i.e. too bland (especially the Fish Taco). Fast forward ~7.5 years, we decided to give TKF another shot for brunch with their Grilled Sustainable Salmon and Blueberry Pancakes. Both dishes impressed us: full of flavor, bright, and healthful while still very satisfying! The Salmon was cooked through while still moist, buttery, and slightly smoky on the exterior for the light grilling, andthe accompanying crunchy Snap Peas, Organic Wild Rice, and creamy Thai Basil Vinaigrette provided a refreshing and warming complement to the fish. As for the pancakes, they were moist and had a nice hearty graininess (Buckwheat?) together with Organic Blueberry Compote, Greek Yogurt (a naturally tart and lighter alternative to butter), and Maple Syrup for a sweet, tart, and vibrant accent. Since the compote portion was a bit small, we asked for a bit more to which our server kindly obliged! Both dishes left a strong impression on us that we returned this afternoon for both as well as a Blackened version of the Grilled Salmon. While a bit warmer in temperature and spiced in the crust, the inherent oily flavors were actually accented in the blackened version to provide a nice contrast to the plain Grilled Salmon. We savored trying both versions side-by-side! Meanwhile, we enjoyed the Pancakes as a lovely dessert to share! In terms of service, Aubrey made our experience feel like that of fine dining with a relaxing vibe. Attentive and welcoming, she also helped to seamlessly rectified a bit of miscommunication on both of our parts (we meant 1 order of adult portion Pancakes that comes with 2 flapjacks rather than the literal 1 pancake for the kids' version). In the end, we enjoyed having one pancake at a time (once with extra Blueberry Compote, then the next one with the Maple Syrup)! All in all, TFK has matured culinarily by finding the optimal balance of pleasing the palate with fulfiling its mission to source clean ingredients prepared in healthful fashion. Combined with outstanding service and a bright green garden-like ambiance, TFK is great place for diverse diets and those looking to satisfy their mindful eating side!

For years, True Food Kitchen in Bethesda, MD was one of my favorite restaurants. I regularly…read morebrought friends because the menu was unique, the atmosphere was inviting, and I had always enjoyed introducing people to the restaurant. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I won't be returning. I visited on a weekday around 2:00 p.m., when the restaurant was nearly empty. With only a handful of guests and two servers working, I expected attentive service and careful attention to detail--especially after informing my server about my food allergies. Instead, the experience left me feeling anxious and disappointed. My guest immediately noticed that our server greeted us by dropping the menus on the table, which didn't create a welcoming first impression. While he enjoyed his espresso martini and the hummus, the service throughout our meal felt rushed and distracted, even though the restaurant was not busy. I arrived hungry and ordered the Edamame Dumpling Soup, a dish I have enjoyed on previous visits. This time, however, it was mushy, lacked its usual flavor, and was simply unappetizing. Next, I ordered the vegan burger and clearly explained my food allergies. Before eating it, I asked whether the accompanying sauce contained tomatoes, lime, or lemon. I was told it did not, so I tasted it. After noticing something seemed off, I specifically asked whether it contained ketchup. Only then did the server go back to confirm that it did, in fact, contain ketchup. That mistake could have had serious consequences for someone with food allergies. Unfortunately, the vegan burger itself was also overwhelmingly salty. Both my guest and I agreed it was over-seasoned, and I sent it back. To make matters worse, I wanted to continue eating my soup while waiting for my replacement entrée, but I had to wait approximately 20 minutes to receive a spoon. The replacement dish--a turkey burger--was excellent, and the carrot soup was easily the highlight of the meal. I would happily rate the carrot soup 10 out of 10. However, another allergy concern occurred. The avocado for my turkey burger was served on the side alongside another red sauce. After tasting the avocado spread, I asked what it contained. Once again, the server had to leave the table to verify the ingredients, only to return and tell me that the avocado spread contained lime. This was the second time during the same meal that I had already tasted something before my allergy questions were accurately answered. As someone with food allergies, that is unacceptable. Ingredient questions should be verified before assuring a guest that an item is safe--not afterward. Dining out should not require guessing whether the information provided is accurate. When the check arrived, the total was $129. For that price, I expected knowledgeable service, careful attention to allergy concerns, and food that matched the quality I remembered from previous visits. It is disappointing because this restaurant was once a favorite that I enthusiastically recommended to friends. Sadly, this visit demonstrated a decline in both the quality of the food and, more importantly, the level of care given to guests with dietary restrictions. While there were still a few bright spots--particularly the carrot soup, turkey burger, hummus, and espresso martini--the repeated failures to communicate allergen information accurately overshadowed the entire experience. I sincerely hope True Food Kitchen improves its allergy training and reinforces the importance of verifying ingredients before serving guests. Doing so is not simply good customer service--it is a matter of guest safety. I can't even give them two stars. When you play with my allergies, you play with my life!
