We are frequent and forever Dill's locals. However we have encountered on more than one occasion some misses. This afternoon we ordered two orders of their two meat combo. They were already sold out of ribs and chicken, which is sometimes the case due to popularity, so it was two orders of the 2 meat combo of pulled pork and tri-tip; one with beans and slaw, the other with beans and potato salad. Upon arrival it turned out to be two orders of tritip and no pulled pork. Instead of the sides ordered it was two coleslaw. We toyed with the idea of just letting it go, but since we live a short distance away we gave them a call. They were most apologetic. Upon returning we were met at the door with the pulled pork and two more orders of slaw. We never did get the potato salad but that can just pass. They also completed our frequent customer card which was much appreciated. The whole gist of my review is that Dill's is a popular place and it is not uncommon for them to get slammed. But attention is needed on both sides of the counter. The order needs to be double checked going out and it's a good idea for you to make sure you're getting what you ordered. That's better than finding out when you open it in Mount Shasta. DIll's is still our number on choice. read more

We were really looking forward to this BBQ spot as it was a parking lot away from the Fairfield. 2 stars because the sides were EXCELLENT! Slaw, mac salad, beans and garden salad! The BBQ couldn't of been more MEH!!! And the BBQ sauce is a joke, straight ketchup, tasteless ribs and most importantly was the portion difference between my husbands meal and my own meal....See pictures! His tri tip meal- $15.99 My meal that I shared with my son- $18.99....first off, pricey for a deli, but good portions on the sides. Oh and check out the "garlic bread".....little bigger than a cracker and tasteless! If your going to eat here, do the 3 meat and nothing else or better yet save some $$$ and do the free social hour at the Fairfield and save the $$$! I've been coming here for years. My father used to come every week to meet with his retired buddies from work. They make great sandwiches! The bread is crusty, but not hard and their ingredients are always fresh. No brown lettuce here! The staff has always been great over the last 15 years I've been coming here. If you are a rabid vaxxer who fears for their life every time you don't have a mask covering your face when people are about, this might not be the place for you. My family went for some BBQ. The food is great and the people working in here are super super nice!!!! My son has an egg and dairy allergy and they took the time to make suggestions, check labels in their ingredients for allergens, and really made sure not to mix his food with anything. Also, after we were done with our food, my other son wanted a cookie for dessert, I go in with my son to buy a cookie but one of workers just gave it to my son for free! The bun was very good, meat was plentiful, lean and tasty with the right amount of jalapeno jack cheese and green chilis... and the cole slaw was delicious! Sadly disappointed. I ended up getting the tri tip, don't recommend. It was luke warm and left a taste to be desired. It was served with a side of regretful bbq sauce, cold. Worst Italian sandwich I've ever had. I was picturing a traditional Italian sandwich and this definitely wasn't it. Only toppings were olives and banana peppers. It looks more like a sandwich shack and they should change that because their BBQ is as good as any I've had. They give you a side of okay sauce---but you won't need it. Brisket was not completely disintigrated like you see some. This was nice smokey slices of some great beef. Pork ribs---wow Pulled pork--wow Chicken--wow Fresh Cole Slaw----wow, wow, wow. I wish there was an option for 3.5 stars. We ordered two sandwiches for a total of just under $20. We ordered a pastrami sandwich on the sour French roll and a dirty pig. I don't know what to say really. The sandwiches were OK. They weren't anything to write home about and they weren't horrible. The bread on the pastrami (the sour French roll) was the best thing about both sandwiches. The pastrami had a very mild flavor which is fine, it's just nothing special. I suppose my biggest issue is that I prefer my deli meats, especially pastrami, sliced a little more thinly. The way the sandwiches stack the meat on the bread, it's difficult to describe, but what kind of gummy/dry/more bread than meat. It's difficult to explain, but the sandwiches were just OK. Maybe their barbecue meat without the bread would be better? I may or may not come back but if you want an OK sandwich, that's a little pricey (the reason this didn't get four stars was that the sandwiches were a little pricey for what you got) come by. read more
