Came by earlier this afternoon to grab a quick brunch when both my husband and I were craving dim sum. Parking was fairly easy with tons of parking spots in the plaza and inside the restaurant was a more to-go style spot but there are some seats for you to enjoy your meal. The overall ambience of the spot was quiet and cozy. Service was very quick and they were able to take our orders quickly. I noticed even with more people coming in, they took orders quick and were able to serve them almost instantly. It looks like they take catering as well. My hubby and I got an order of the siu mai ($6.15 for 3 pieces), har gow ($6.15 for 3), BBQ pork bun (~$3 for 1), and the black bean spare beans ($6.15). Prices were fairly decent and the portion sizes were fairly big! The siu mai was a bit sweeter than I normally like, but I liked the size of them. Har gow was fresh (it did come out 5-10 mins after we sat down) and was actually very plump and the skin was easy to eat (most places the skin falls apart). BBQ pork bun was also very good - can't go wrong with a simple bun. Black bean spare-ribs were just OK, definitely could be better as it felt too garlicky and most of it was fat. I am deducting a star mostly due to the food not being as hot. Since we were able to eat right away, we were hoping the food would be fresh/hot but the siu mai and spare-ribs were just very lukewarm. Came by the other day to grab some dim sum and it was a tasty experience. Parking is available inside the strip mall lot or on residential streets behind the shop. There are a few tables indoors for dining along with a few tables outside. They now have air conditioning. The quality of their food is actually decent, on par with dim sum restaurants in the area. Dim sum favorites include their spare ribs, chicken feet, pork football. The best part is that everything is sold by piece so one can mix and match. They also have a good variety of hot entrees including salt and pepper fish, garlic string beans. They have various promotions, including a discount for paying cash. Been going here for years! It's convenient, since I work across the street. When I have dim sum cravings, this is the place to go. There's an abundant of choices. Sometimes, I pass on the hot foods (not steamed) because it looks like it's been sitting there for a while. Best time to go is when they open, or during lunch since the turnover on their hot dishes is constant. Their huge baked pork bun is just as good as the one I'd get in Mt. View. Siomai is also delicious. Plump and juicy. There are few seats inside and 3 tables outside in the corner next to Fish & Chips. Mainly folks do take out. Service is good but sometimes, bagging is questionable. One cashier loaded up my bag and I just knew it will rip once I pull it off the counter. I had to ask for a second bag and repack myself. This place over fifteen years ago was a cash only business. They pretty much accept all payment types now. Nowadays, it's great to see them surviving and thriving at this tiny store in Sunnyvale. Parking lot is still large enough to find available spots. Pho Nam in the same plaza used to be my go to Pho restaurant. Staffs were Chinese and Indian workers inside Dim Sum King. All were very helpful, organized, well trained, and attentive. Pretty decent prices compared to other similar places. Note, you can get additional 10% off if you show a military/veteran ID card, 10% off if you purchase more than $100 before taxes/tips, and 5% off if you pay in cash. This is really not bad at all and discounts can be fully combined to save you money on your visit. I like that you can still sit and wait inside. Nothing fancy/just an old dim sum takeout foods spot that's been around for ages. I picked up some BBQ pork buns/hot dog buns/egg tart/HK pineapple bun/and a yellow fried rice medium box size. Happy bird. I haven't ate anything from here in years. Everything is still fulfilling/good portion/delicious for Cantonese dim sum items/buns. Over the counter foods were ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. BBQ red meats aren't cheap here. Freezer foods are worth looking at. They also have special Lunar New Year promotions and items too. Dim Sum and then some! [Sunnyvale CA] We picked up a TGTG deal next door at Edible Arrangements and saw this dim sum fast food restaurant. We decided to stop by inside while there was no line. There were different dim sum options: steamed, baked or fried, egg rolls, shrimp balls and desserts -- egg tarts, custard buns, sesame balls, and many more. Prices were decent. We chose 2 orders of the 3-pcs Shrimp & Pork Dumpling (Siu Mai) and 3-pcs Pan Fried Shrimp & Chives Dumpling. There were a couple of tables inside but most people get them to go. Was craving dim sum but didn't feel like going to a full sit-down restaurant. This place looked like it had most of the items we wanted, so we decided to stop by. There was a short line, but it moved quickly and we were able to order without much wait. We tried a mix of items: 3 pieces for $5.55: * Shrimp & Pork Dumpling (Siu Mai) - big and tasty * Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow) / Shrimp Ball - both were large and good * Taro Fuzzball (Pork) - deep-fried taro puff, nice and crispy, very good $2.95 each: * Green Onion Roll - had a sweeter, caramelized flavor that I didn't love since I prefer a more savory taste * BBQ Pork Moon Puff - good * Baked Egg Custard Bun - ok Overall, not bad for $30+. Swing by after seeing some apartments as we were in Sunnyvale around 10am. Most dim sum places open around 11 but dim sum king was open much earlier. Awesome! Dim sum king also specializes in take-out style dim sum as opposed to purely dine in style. They do offer seating to eat but items relatively small that would only seat 2-3 parties of 2-3 people. They have their classics like the shrimp dumplings, pork and shrimp dumplings, etc. All pretty reasonably priced. When ordering, I noticed that the team was pretty diverse and spoke mainly English too. Definitely less of a barrier for those that want to try dim sum! My husband works within walking distance from Dim Sum King. Um...yes please! This place is so good!!!! I'm a vegetarian and there are options for me, I can't believe it. Their food doesn't mess up my tummy, which is a major plus. Oily food can hurt me, due to not having a gallbladder anymore. This place is truly my king for being safe to me. We usually walk away spending almost $50, because I want as much as I can get. We usually get 3 meals spread out. You get a discount if you pay in cash. They also accept credit cards. I like all the happy cats for sale. I have one on the dash of my car. We haven't tried the frozen foods, just because we don't know how to cook them. This place is soo crowded on weekends! I went for the first time at 11:45am on a Saturday and the line was out the door. I opted to order ahead online via 3rd party so I could avoid waiting in line but still ended up waiting. They technically have a separate line for online pickups but it converges to the same checkout line for the normal orders so it was quite inefficient. I was at the very front and couldn't ask anyone to get anyone's attention to get my online order for a good 5 minutes. They run out of stuff by 12pm so I suggest going earlier. I liked the sui mai, har gow, bean curd rolls, bbq pork (only served on weekends), fried shrimp ball, and sesame ball, and . The pan fried noodles were underwhelming and tasteless, and the steamed pork baos were dry. Overall place is about 3.5 but decided to round up. Fast and affordable dim sum place. I ordered the beef chow fun, siu mai, and mango mochi. The mango mochi is my favorite, it wasn't overly sweet and had real mango pieces inside. I stopped by Dim Sum King on a Sunday morning around 9:30am. I was craving dim sum, but I didn't want to have a full blow sit down meal nor wait until lunch. Appreciated that Dim Sum King opens early in the morning for breakfast. Dim Sum King is a small grab-and-go spot, and the service is fast. I ordered a few essentials, such as crispy shrimp balls, har gow, shrimp and chive, and shu mai. The 3 types of shrimp dim sum were fine. Craving satisfied. My hubby said the shu mai was standard. I love bean curd wrapped dumplings in soup, but they're mostly made with pork that I don't eat. I got their fried version that has shrimp only. I enjoyed the crispy texture, but It tasted oily and salty. I got the steamed egg buns for good measure, which were great. Not overly sweet. Lastly, I thought the pricing was so affordable. An "order" equated to 3 of each item. I had 18 total pieces, which came out to $36.34 after taxes and fees. read more

I was in the mood for some dim sum and decided to finally give this place a try! They're a takeout spot and seemed popular with the locals, there was a small line formed to order. I went with the Har Gow, Siu Mai, Lo Bak Go, BBQ Pork Cheung Fun, and Chicken Feet. The Har Gow and Siu Mai were good, but I wouldn't get the Cheung Fun again. Overall, I thought that flavor wise, everything was okay, but I've definitely had better dim sum. It certainly didn't compare to other dim sum places that I've had, takeout included. There is only one table inside for dine-in and two or three very small tables outside. The line moves very fast as the servers work efficiently. They speak both English and Cantonese which is very helpful for both Chinese and non Chinese speakers. All the food items are well labeled in English. Taste and quality of the food - excellent, delicious. The ingredients are truly fresh, they do not use fillers. The tofu skin shrimp cake is all shrimp. Besides what's on display over the counter, the steamed dim sum are behind the counters in the steamer. You have to ask for those. I travel over half hour to this cafe. Very good siu mai, but at $5.55 for an order of 3 is getting pretty expensive. You can also buy the frozen pre-made siu mai at $19.60 per bag of 12 and make them at home. I like to go with the frozen ones since it's slightly cheaper with the same quality. Brings the cost down to $4.90 per order of 3. This is one of the only places I could find that is like your classic to-go spot, similar to what I was used to in SF. Flavor is great, big chunks of plump shrimp, and the quality is hard to beat. read more

I have visited twice and can say I am a fan. I like that you order per piece so if you're dining solo or don't want to be stuck with 3 pieces in a typical dim sum order. This place is for you! I'm a little picky about siu mai and the ones here are done well. The har gow (shrimp dumpling) skin is a little thick but still enjoyable. Can't go wrong with any of the baked or fried goods and when in doubt, just get one to try. I will point out I enjoyed the baked snowcapped taro bun and the munch and crunch barbecue pork bun - it's a pineapple bun with bbq pork filling. There's no indoor seating so you have to take it to go . Be sure to get hot soy sauce, soy sauce, and sweet-and-sour sauce. I thought the sweet-and-sour sauce was a little different because I haven't seen that at dim sum places, but it actually works well with some of the items.
