This establishment is such a cool spot to eat in, but what stood out most to me , was the staff and the owners. They were all so great and friendly and happy. Our server was especially great as well. The drinks are good and the milkshakes too. The mozzarella triangles were so good, I'm a big fan. I had the double cheeseburger and it was tasty, just a great burger. The pancakes were extremely good and the chicken and waffles were incredibly good. Probably my favorite dish. The lobster roll was great and the big salad was excellent. I never leave reviews and hate doing so. Had been wanting to give this place a try. The place didn't feel very well cleaned but I looked past that. Ordered a greek omelette which came with toast. Took a bite of the toast which was super crispy. Looked at the corner of the bread and it was green and moldy. Told the waitress and she immediately took the plate away, said all our food would be comped and apologized. The right thing to do... but never in my life have I been served moldy food. We had a humiliated and disappointing experience. Several people were seated and got their food before we were offered a menu. My party had to nudge the waiter multiple times before we could put in our order. One of the waitresses was visibly rude to us, said something in Spanish, and walked away when we gently asked if we could put in our order. The food was ok and definitely not worth going through feeling ignored and looked down upon. Edit: The business owner mentioned that "today no one sat without a menu", which contradicts with our experience. My party was never offered a menu. We continued to be ignored while other customers who arrived before us get order and receive their food. We even had to nudge the floor leader for water as no one offered us water. After some more nudging and waiting, we then ended up having to look up the menu online and never got to touch a physical menu. We're a reserved party and respectful of service workers and don't think we did anything to offend anyone. This experience left a sour taste for us and don't think we'd ever return. Long awaited, but worth the wait! My husband and I have been anxiously awaiting for the grand opening and were not disappointed! Despite only having one side of their menu available (understandable, given it was their second service), the options made it hard for us to choose from (because everything sounded so good). We ended up getting the fried mozzarella triangles, zucchini skewers, pigs in a blanket, surf & turf sandwich and the chicken parm sandwich and honestly nothing fell short (the chicken parm sandwich was a little hard to eat because of how large it was, but the taste was a home run). The surf and turf sandwich was especially notable, as we did not expect to get such a generous portion of lobster for the price! It was absolutely delicious and I can't wait until the grand opening on Wednesday to try it again. The restaurant itself looks amazing and really feels like a old-timey diner with a modern twist. The menu has lots of familiar options that you'd expect from a diner but it also has some upscale dinner and lunch options that might surprise you. my friend and I were at a show that ended at 10pm on a Thursday and we were on the hunt for something other than pizza to eat and this was where we landed! the staff was super friendly, and there was quite a lot of people there. I ordered the peanut butter cheesecake as I was in the mood for cheesecake so badly and it was yummy and filling. My friend got the smash burger with fries and ranch and extra cheese and she said the extra cheese was key! I have to note that while I did not have one myself a lot of people in the restaurant were sipping frozen rose or peach Bellini's and it looked delicious. I asked the server, can I have the roast beef sandwich with no French onion dip and no onions. I was brought a French onion soup and a roast beef sandwich that's full of grilled onions! I was extremely specific, since I don't like onions. You said the waiter misunderstood me? When I very nicely let the waiter know, I did not want any onions, he grabbed the plate stomped off and didn't come back, not even to refill my friend's water glass. I'm still sitting in your restaurant, you replied to my review in seconds! You are refusing to me let leave, I just want to go home. Dimitri came over to make things right, he was extremely nice and polite, I did say no it's OK, I just want to go, he brought me the 2nd sandwich and it was again smothered in onions, he brought me a 3rd sandwich, I kept telling him no, I just wanted to leave. I understand he/you were trying to make things right, and appreciate him for that, but during this entire fiasco, your waiter walked over and said to me, "you told me you didn't want onion soup, and you didn't like onions. I didn't know you didn't want onions in your sandwich", then I was forced to take a bite of the 3rd sandwich. Now you change your reply to me on yelp on Google. I never once said I would come back, my experience was horrible, you had to remake it three times because two times it was wrong. I will never come back. You did not handle it right because I was being harassed and forced and kept at the restaurant. Then your waiter to come over and harass me while Dimitri walked away. We came here with our 2 year old after school for a quick lunch. They were extremely friendly and kind to my son who loved dining here, he keeps saying "I go back there." The service was great, the staff and owner were attentive. We ordered the kids chicken tender and fries for him and he barely ever eats but he had a whole chicken tender and fries. I had the crispy chicken parm, the chicken was crispy and juicy and the burrata was divine. My husband had the hot roast beef with the French onion soup dip and it was fantastic. Diner 24 is not your ordinary diner, it's extraordinary! Not only was the service superb but the food was next level as well! We ordered the Lamb Ribs that literally fell right off the bone, the Greek Onion Soup which was cheesy and full of umami, the Hand Shaken Greek Salad which was outstanding. I love how it had all around flavor. Our fave app was the Spicy Mozzarella Triangles. Unlike the ones I've had from other diners, these are made with fresh mozzarella and comes with a homemade creamy tomato sauce. If I didn't know any better, I would think that a Nonna was in the back making the sauce from scratch. Next we took on the Trifecta which has 3 18 oz smash burger patties, cheese, bacon, 2 fried eggs your style, onions and mushrooms. Not only was it big in size, it was also big in flavor which is usually uncommon with burgers that size. It was perfectly cooked and juicy as well. The Crispy Chicken Parm Sandwich also blew us away. The burrata was a really nice touch compared to the cheap mozzarella that is most commonly used these days. Lastly, we ended our meal on a sweet note with the Baklava Milkshake. I love having a new diner on the scene that's retro, but not overtly kitschy and also good! The place is as clean as can be, with lovely decor. The red coffee cups on the tables stood out beautifully against the black and white decor. We couldn't get over the Bluetooth jukeboxes, a throwback to the old school table side ones of yesterday, except you can connect to these via Bluetooth and play your own music! We loved that detail. The coffee is good and I had the Salmon Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was remarkably good, very lemony and bright. The waitstaff was super kind, accommodating, and friendly. I usually will give an establishment a 2nd chance especially if it was my 1st time visiting. I went here a couple nights ago for the 1st time. Ordered the spicy mozzarella triangles, 2 burgers with fries and 2 ginger ales. It totaled out to $90. Yes $90 for 2 burgers a appetizer and 2 sodas.... Waited about 40 minutes for my food. The burgers were not only dry but lukewarm and very oily, the oil seeped through the bun on the bottom. I Only ate 1/4 of the burger and was going to take the rest to go for my child. Was there for about an hour, 40 minutes of that was spent waiting on the food. When it came time to go, I asked for to go boxes, went to use the bathroom and when I came back the boxes were delivered and half of my meal was gone. When I called for the waiter he said he was under the impression that the food was done with so he took it from the table. Now... 1. Why would I ask for to go boxes for you to then take my food, that wasn't done being eaten and that I paid for. 2. I had a full plate of fries, 3 mozzarella triangles, cheese sauce, and almost a full burger left bc I only ate 1/4 of it...... I left with half of a burger and nothing else. What a great find! Diner 24 was a surprise. Mont only was the retro decor reminiscent of my "youth", the food was excellent. My turkey avocado blt wrap had real turkey, not deli meat and the side salad fresh. It was a substantial wrap! Price reasonable- which is a welcome change from so many restaurants these days. The food is incredible. Make sure to order the mozzarella triangles because they add a little chilli pepper flakes and gives it that nice hot kick to it. All the servers were super friendly. Because the restaurant is still new, some servers are still learning how to get it right, so be nice. It can be annoying, but their friendliness can help with the mess ups.... I was appreciative of our waiter, a brown haired gentleman who was fun and friendly. My partner and I came yesterday, I was greeted by a woman who was also really nice and we chatted about jorts :) The thing is--and it's very strange because I have never experienced this at a restaurant...the water was so nasty. It tasted like it was mixed with bleach. Mind you--I am an avid water drinker of NYC tap water. I asked the waiter if it was a special kind of water, and he said it was special...personally I think I just prefer regular water, or at least the choice to have regular TAP. We ended up ordering seltzer, because we simply could not drink that. Anywho, the mixed drink I had called the Uptown was super sweet and sugary, I ended up mixing seltzer in it, because it kind of tasted like medicine...I feel like maybe it was the pomegranate liquor? Idk, but I appreciated the beers on the menu :) MY WAFFLE WAS SO GOOD AND I ATE IT UP IN LIKE THREE BITES. My partner didn't really like her salad, because there was no lettuce in it, maybe we misunderstood the menu...but it was primarily huge cut cucumbers and tomatoes...no me gusta.
