Also for drinks he had the plata o plomo and I had a Paloma , Paloma was good , I like it - moderate alcohol not too strong which I loved it . And well it is A little pricey but is worth it . This establishment seems to be going downhill. The service, food and overall stock management need serious improvement. When we arrived, there were only two other occupied tables, yet service was still painfully slow. I really don't know what our server, Emily, was doing this whole time, she seemed to be aimlessly walking around. She doesn't seem to like her job. We weren't offered chips and salsa, and they were out of micheladas, apparently for several days, which reflects poor inventory management. There was also confusion with our drinks. We requested house water but were given bottled water. After pouring the bottled water into our cups, Emily then mixed it with house water, which was a strange way to resolve the mistake. I still don't understand why she didn't just leave it the way it was. To top it off, Emily left us the check then never came back around to pick up my credit card. I had to go to the front to check out. As I'm signing the receipt, for some unknown and odd reason, she felt the need to tell me that the side of rice and beans was actually $6 but she only charged me $3.50. When in actuality the happy hour menu clearly stated $3.50 for the side. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the birria empanadas and received two medium-sized empanadas that were supposed to contain mushrooms, but mine had none. My wife ordered the chicken enchiladas. I would give these two dish a 6 out of 10. Overall, a disappointing experience made worse by our server. Wouldn't recommend or go back. read more

Came with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. The place wasn't packed but everyone was seated in the same area. We were greeted by our server and he introduced himself to us by name--I've eaten at many places where they just say "Hi, I'll be your server this evening". He explained both menus and the various options they had. My friend is vegan and she wanted to get the enchiladas. She told Christian she didn't want it with any meat, just veggies, which prompted him to ask if she had any dietary restrictions. He said he'd asked the chef if he could make substitutions and the chef did. Christian even came back to inform us that the sauce they normally use is a cream base (dairy) and brought out a vegan version for her to try. The attention to detail and care for the customer's preferences along with the taste and good portion of the food, is what made it a great experience! I'd come back at night to experience the fireplace that's at the center of the tables and to try other items on their menu. While the ambiance of the place is aesthetically pleasing, we didn't find the benches near the windows to be comfortable. You can't rest your back without feeling so far away from the table, forcing you to sit up and lean forward. read more

I went to this new location for happy hour and I was not disappointed. A Very upscale Mexican restaurant They had a nice variety of food items and drinks on their menu. Happy hour is from Saturday to Monday all day:) We tried various items from the menus and everything was flavorful, hot, fresh and with quality ingredients. We loved the margaritas and pina coladas.The decor is so beautiful and modern. Beautiful atmosphere. The chefs, waitresses, and hosts were phenomenal. They were very friendly, funny, kind, and very accommodating. Easy parking and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The bar area is large with high end furniture. Very attentive and he was able to tell me about a couple great items on the menu and offered a green and red salsa that he thought I would like with my dish. For my Sunday morning brunch, I had mimosas and the shrimp enchiladas with rice and beans. My dish was delicious and full of flavors. On top of the delightful food, the ambiance was beautiful. I had made a reservation for 7:45pm for Valentine's Day in advance, and fully aware this was going to be an extremely busy evening. To start the evening, my date and I checked in and handed a buzzer and told there's a two hour dining limit. We were waiting for about 35 minutes at the bar and I asked about our table at the hostess desk, and she let me know she called my name. I didn't hear my name being called, nor did the buzzer go off, so that was already an interesting start. Then, the young hostess was basically running to the tables outside and was told by another staff member to slow down. The outside thankfully had heaters and the decor wasn't too bad, however, the music that was playing a personal speaker and also playing music off of someone's phone. The speaker was very loud and my date and I started to hear artists like Taylor Swift and the Black Eyes Peas play, which I notified the server the music was terribly loud and also not pleasant. The server said the manager won't change the music but can authorize the music to be turned down. Overall the server, staff, and food were thankfully good but the reservations should've been limited in order to have your guests have the best quality experience and not have it be so disorganized and an after thought. My date and I were dressed up and had to sit outside with individuals that were clearly not dressed appropriately and we felt like the entire experience was an afterthought. We came for happy hour. Michelada was decent. $6 not bad. Nice variety. I wanted to try the queso fundido from the regular menu but it was $21 with chorizo The price point here is high and the food is okay. I saw $45 for aguachiles. I didn't try them but I hope they're good. I just don't think this restaurant fits the demographic of Downey. Maybe Beverly Hills. That's the vibe when you walk into this place. The service was good. My family and I visited this establishment on Mexican Mother's Day for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. Very satisfied with the service and the experience we had. We arrive around 4 pm and we realized they are offered a very solid happy hour menu which we were able to enjoy. We had the chips and guac, green enchiladas, taquitos and street tacos. We were shocked when he put the check on our table without any response.We didn't ask for the check,we asked if he may please go check the kitchen to see how much longer our food would be ,not our check.In fact,he was too prideful to apologize and admit his mistake ,an appropriate response should've been "I misinterpreted what you said ,i will fix this issue" This server should be fired by how inappropriate his response was to our concerns.If you know your kitchen is one hour to two hours backed up ,why am i still seeing tables of 8 or more getting seated just to be told the same thing . I've been to Diosas a dozen times and have always enjoyed the experience, but today was truly disappointing. We made a reservation to celebrate our daughter's 27th birthday -- I even noted it on the website -- yet not once did anyone acknowledge the occasion. No candle, no "Happy Birthday," nothing. For a place we've supported so many times, that lack of effort really stung. When we arrived, we were made to wait for our table even though all the tables were clearly ready and set. Then, instead of being seated at a booth, we were given a regular table. When I asked about moving, I was told booths are only for first-come, first-served guests -- which felt dismissive, especially since we had a reservation for a special occasion. When my daughter ordered an horchata, our waitress, Estaphany, casually said, "I think we're out. If we are, it'll take 30 minutes -- do you want to wait?" There was no effort to offer alternatives or check right away. As she was collecting our menus, she pulled them from under my knife, causing it to fall onto my pants and leave a stain. To make matters worse, my daughter's carne asada taco order came out wrong. She had clearly requested no cheese and no beans, yet it arrived with both. We had to send it back. Our bill was $300 -- and for that amount, you would think we'd be able to enjoy our lunch and have a special, memorable experience. We've been here when it's busy and have never had the kind of poor service we experienced today. What made it worse is that no one ever apologized or made any effort to make things right or make us feel better about the situation. For a place that's usually been reliable and enjoyable, this birthday celebration was a letdown from start to finish. Diosas really missed the mark today. read more
