Came there on a Sunday night wanting a small pizza. They have them on the menu, however they refuse to sell them on the weekends. This has to be the worst experience I've ever had at an "Italian" restaurant. Not only the food had nothing to do with Italian food, but the place is disgusting! The floor is filthy, the blinds are falling apart, the curtains have never been washed, the whole place looks like a mess. Going back to the food, I have to say that the only thing that was good, were the garlic rolls. The sauce was kinda a little sauce with water, it had a pink color running water. The lasagna had so much ricotta cheese, that it was hard to find the meat, not to mention the mozzarella cheese, it was like chewing gum. So we ate there yesterday and today my husband was unable to go to work, he's so sick to his stomach. Will never visit that place again! The waitress was nice. Just came in to pick up a pizza i ordered 40 minutes ago and i am still waiting, said it would be 15 mins. Place its empty even though is lunch time which doesnt help their cause for my pizza not being ready! Pizza had veggies which i dont eat and didnt order but no big deal, anyone can make a mistake. I am a little shocked by some of the negative reviews I see when browsing through the reviews. Especially the morons saying that they think EVERYONE in Miami must be idiots or that something wrong with EVERYONE'S taste buds because THEY hated Di Piazza. It's funny, these few are trying to tel the masses that they are wrong. I've lived in HML area my whole life. I enjoy eating out, trying new restaurants and enjoy traveling to do the same. I consider myself a foodie in the sense that I love food and think my taste buds know good food when it comes along. My favorite cuisine is hands down Italian. Pasta, pizza, chicken parmigiana.. All of it. My absolute favorite. And I have never found an Italian restaurant that I enjoy more than Di Piazza. In the 20 years that I've been coming here, I will say that every now and then you will come across a pissy waitress. This is Hialeah. This is Miami. It's in the DNA. That aside, the product being pushed out here is second to none. Once you enter, it has an old school NY Italian joint feeling. They got pictures hanging up of celebrities who have gone to the restaurant and got posters up from classic Italian mobster films. Great ambiance and they usually have some Frank Sinatra type music going on. I love it. To the most important part.. the food. The Minestrone and pasta fagioli soups are really good, traditional Italian fare.. But where they really hit the nail on the head is with the lentil soup. Absolutely amazing. For appetizers, I am not a big clams type of guy, but the baked clams are really good. If you're a raw clams type of person(I'm not) I have had friends tell me that they love their raw clams. They got classics like fried mozzarella, fried zucchini, fried calamari, chicken wings and shrimp cocktail. All are great, but the shrimp scampi in that butter sauce, wow! Their garlic rolls are addictive, so be careful. You don't want to get to stuffed. But those little balls of garlic goodness are killer. I've had my phases with what I eat as my main meal here. I've gone through the chicken or shrimp Alfredo pasta phase. By FAR the best Alfredo pasta I've ever had. It's is creamy and the flavor is kicking. The protein is always cooked and seasoned to perfection. You will also have enough to take home for seconds, I promise. I've gone through the lasagna phase. I always thought my mom made the second best lasagna in the world, with Di Piazza a distant first. There's just enough sauce, just enough ricotta cheese, just enough meat. It is special. An individual portion is big enough to feed two. The Di Piazza pasta comes with sun dried tomatoes & spinach in a cream sauce. I feel like Sun dried tomatoes are Italian cuisines best kept secret and needs to start being incorporated into the cuisine more. Di Piazza made their signature pasta with it.. These folks know what they're doing. The risotto, manicotti, eggplant parm, chicken parm, stuffed shells, chicken marsala, sausage and peppers, gnocchi and ravioli are all amazing and I highly recommend them if that's your dish of choice. You won't be disappointed. And for the pizza.. Traditional NYC style pizza. If you go for lunch they sell it by the slice, but why go for the slice when you can get a whole pie and have some later. The white pizza with ricotta is amazing. The Di Piazza Deluxe has pepperoni, sausage, peppers and mushrooms. It's excellent. You can get a cheese pizza and add whatever toppings you want for $2 a topping. I wish I could say I've tried everything, but I haven't... Yet! I am working on it. I have never left being unsatisfied. Maybe a little too full, but it was always worth it. Don't listen to these negative reviews when it comes to Di Piazza, you will love it read more

Every time I eat here, it is a pleasure! My favorite is the typical fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and a garlic roll or two. Over the years, I've also tried their Stromboli and lasagna. Really people of Miami, what is wrong with you? I'm pretty sure you've all had your taste buds removed. I'm in town for 2 weeks a year on business and I always use yelp to try and find new local places to eat, traveling as much as I do I really _hate_ eating at big chain places. But yelp and the miami community have really let me down on finding good places to eat! I went in here expecting some great italian food, the first thing I always ask when ordering is "Is this frozen?". Here's a little snippet of my conversation today: M: "Are the stuffed shells fresh or frozen" W: "Frozen" M: "Are the raviolis fresh or frozen" W: "Frozen" M: "Are the gnocchi fresh or frozen" W: "Frozen" M: "Is there anything NOT frozen?" W: "The lasagna is fresh and very good" THANK GOD! Something that's made in house and the waitress says is good! So I order it and start getting my hopes up for some delicious lasagna, I mean really how hard can that be. I received my plate and it was just a soupy mess. I took my first bite and found nothing but cheese! (cold cheese!!!) I dug into the center of it to see what else was in there, finally finding some meat (just along the outside), I took a bit of that... Just plain old hamburger, no seasonings, no flavor, nothing. And to top it off, it was COLD. I sent it back and left. The one good thing is that the waitress was very friendly and honest about the food being frozen. I came here yesterday to get a quick bite. Its a small quaint little Italian place that is always full to capacity. I ordered spaghetti with clams which happened to be on special.It happens to be one of my favorite dishes and i pretty much have had the same dish in different restaurants before. I was very impressed and satisfied with the quality of the clams. The service was nice considering their high volume. They give you complementary garlic rolls, which i only tried one one and it was delicious. they give you five of them, I couldn't eat the rest, it was just too much. I ordered the clam dish in a butter garlic sauce but you have the option to have it served in a red sauce. The dish was a little over 16 dollars, easily worth 22 dollars like other establishments. This place has great Old School Italian. It's like the places I went to when I was growing up and visited my family in New York. The chicken parm is the best ever. I have had it three times-always exceptional. It's good quality, tender, wonderful sauce and cheese-perfection, the garlic rolls are killer with fresh garlic. Pizza is wonderful. First off, the most important thing - the garlic bread. All I need to say is I want to swim in the oil and garlic chunks of the garlic bread dish. I think I don't need to elaborate any more on that. Now, moving on... The pizzas are great and the pasta dishes has always been delish. Prices a little high, but it's worth it - you can taste the authenticity of the food in this mom and pop shop. The look to this restaurant can throw you off. It's very old & a bit worn down. But i do have to say the pizza was tasty!! We had the white pizza which comes with ricotta, and i was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We also had the cheese ravioli with alfredo... that was not so great. The ravioli was a little bit TOO al dente & the sauce was watered down. They charged me $15.50 for a dish of 6 ravoli. Was not worth it one bit.They are a bit overpriced for the quality they serve, I would go back only for the pizza. read more

The three stars is because I love this place so much. Or should I say, used to love it. Their ziti a la vodka used to be amazing. What I can only chock up to new ownership, is their below average waitresses. Friendly Carol who had been here for years hasn't been seen in a while. As a replacement, we have a handful of millennials who are as unenthusiastic to wait on tables as they are talking about strip clubs and casinos to their tables. Not to mention the neighboring waitress who was wearing a very unflattering tank top and asking across the room if someone wanted their check. A hidden gem in Hialeah! I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a child and the food has always been just as great. The service is fantastic, you really feel like you are in a mom and pop restaurant in Italy. I would recommend ordering the dozen garlic rolls (even if you're dining as a couple). Once you try one you will fight over the rest. They are just THAT good! And if you have the room for an extra appetizer, I'd recommend the fried mozzarella. It's a bit pricey considering it is only two pieces (triangular pieces, not the American-style 'sticks') but they are bogey-gooey goodness. And you can't go wrong with their pizzas. They are all absolutely delicious and you can even see the chef king it for you and tossing it up in the air! Five stars, every time. read more

I have gone to Di Piazza several times and the food is always AMAZING! This time I went with my family for a Saturday night dinner. My husband ordered the mushroom risotto--- to die for! The kids all got spaghetti and meatballs, which was very tasty. My mother got the chicken Marsala-- delicious, very well seasoned, perfectly portioned, Yum! The garlic knots and fried calamari were good, but not great. The service at this restaurant is also quick and friendly. The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients, which is always a plus when you have kids with allergies. The only think I think Di Piazza can improve on is the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant. This restaurant has been here for a long time and it's obvious. The decor hasn't been updated in years, which is actually part of the charm, but it does give the impression that the place is not completely clean.
