Went here for brunch and it was packed. Wait for short time and got table at the bar side. I wouldn't expect this place look so cool from the outside but this is Tacoma so anything goes. The place is well lit, clean spacious and minimal decor. The staff are nice, friendly but can be slow at times, but it's brunch so no rush. The menu is easy and plenty of choices to choose from. The turnaround is in good amount of time. Drinks are excellent, well mixed. Overall good foods, great drinks, good services, and great vibe.

I've lived in the Tacoma ish area for almost four years now and have heard so many rave things about DOA - I finally just recently made it in, and I've definitely been missing out! From what I've heard, DOA used to be kind of rowdy and more of a bar scene. Now it seems they've leaned in more to the restaurant side, because they close at 10pm and it seemed really tame when I was in, with mostly couples in for a meal and just a couple people at the bar. Our waitress was super nice and they were quick with all of our orders. My friends and I decided to make a TikTok with our drinks (LOL) and one of my friends spilled one of her margs from her margarita flight and the waitress was super sweet and replaced it at no cost. So my friends got the marg flight and they both said it was super good (I tried a couple of sips and can confirm) while I got my usual hazy IPA. Nice local options for that as well. Both of my friends got the Down & Dirty Burgers which they praised, and I got the Blackened Chicken Cobb sans bleu cheese and tomatoes. When I tell you this salad SLAAPPPEDD, I mean it with my whole chest. The chicken was seasoned and cooked SO well. The rest of the salad overall tasted so fresh and their ranch is superb. 10/10. So glad I finally made it in to this local legend and can't wait to come back for that salad again!

Great breakfast place. I had the chicken and waffle. The batter on the chicken had a little spice and was some of the best I've ever had. And it came with three chicken pieces, and a full sized delicious waffle with bacon crumbles in it. My girlfriend had the pork verde Benedict which was also great and our friend had the steak burrito. It has a nice divey feel to the place and they've also got a great little cocktail menu as well. Definitely a great dining experience. No wait when we got there which was nice.

My mom and boyfriend love this place, but I'm not a big fan of greasy diner style breakfasts, so this place doesn't really do it for me. Especially since, after trying to order something than an enormous plate of eggs, the brussel sprouts were overcooked and drenched in too much balsamic vinegar. I've got to stop ordering brussel sprouts. Every place offers them now, but then they don't put any love into them. However -- and this is a big HOWEVER -- you can get a flight of mimosas at Dirty Oscars and I am totally down for that.

    A "med rare"steak

Took 20 mins to sit here and get any service then after I asked for no Jalapeños on my breakfast because of the digestive upset it causes it was totally covered in it . Also my partners steak was so rare it was bleu and lets be real steak and eggs is a small shitty cut easy to execute. Normally a lover of this place for many years. I can see a new menu and making it all ages was not a good upgrade. Happy Bday to me drove from Kitsap as a longtime Chef myself this was very disappointing.

Met here with friends and had an excellent experience! Our service was really good, friendly, and attentive. The food was great (all around everyone was pleased and our bellies were very full). I had the overload so that I could try multiple breakfast items and every single item that it came with exceeded my expectations. I'd highly recommend you check this place out! They even play football on the big screens!

Me and the wife went in about noon, pretty quite and got to business with lunch. Elk sliders were pretty nice, and my wife had the totchoes in pork gravy. We really appreciated the taste and probably left a little more full then we wanted, couldn't stop

Nice ambiance not too busy for a Friday morning. Good coffee friendly stuff. Food looks good. Husband got the Steak burrito, said it was good but the skirt steak could use a marinade or something. I ordered the Chicken in a Biscuit. It looked great and for the most part it was good. Chicken was cooked perfectly and well seasoned biscuit as well but whoever made the gravy this morning was very heavy handed with the pepper. It was about all you could taste. Very disappointing. There are plenty of other things on their menu I'd menu that I'd love to try though.

Went to DOA on recommendation of friends. Yes it's a bar but according to the friends, it's a good place for breakfast. 21 and older only, and it looks like it belongs on DDD. However the experience versus the recommendation are not even close. The server was awesome and helpful. She alone gets a "5". But the food is where it falls off the table. We got the Chicken in Biscuit and the Elk Hash. First the Chicken in Biscuit - a biscuit that was harder than the rocks on Mt. Rainer, dryer than Death Valley. The chicken was no better as it was over cooked and not flavorful at all. The Sausage Gravy was cold and flavorless. Over all this dish lacked seasoning period and no amount of salt or pepper helped. And this was a dish we were told was a favorite of customers. The Elk hash - not one granule of seasoning that I could find. It was flavorless period, again not hot sausage gravy and the Elk (?) was not very good either. The sunny egg was the only thing I ate I could say was good, but $22 for an enjoyable egg is a bit much. To recap, food was underwhelming in any favor profile, over cooked and extremely under seasoned as I would have need my whole spice rack to even begin to get a flavor profile. The Biscuit and chucked were over cooked. Would I return? Do not think so. Would or do I recommend? Me thinks not, sorry.

Had this place on my list for a while, and after going, I'm sorry I waited so long. First off the food is phenomenal. Everything is made in house including dressings and even their tater tots (which are stuffed). But even better then the food is the service, the guy that served us Friday later afternoon was a delight. I missed is name, but you can tell he cares about his customers, and loves his job. The prices are a little more expensive, but it's all homemade and inhouse, so I will pay extra for that. Really enjoyed the NA beer with my burger too. Over all a 10 out of 10 experience.

Bottom ID not accepted even if you are 21, or 24 in my case...

Drove 40 minutes to come with my family. I am 24 years old the youngest in the group. I have a vertical ID (which is a Real ID California Drivers License) and it is not expired They would under no circumstances accept my "Vertical ID" wtf..... asked to speak with the owner, said he doesn't want to speak and doesn't speak english we asked what language does he speak and they said he didn't want to talk.

Argh. What to say. We have been to Dirty Oscar's four times but only eaten there twice. We really enjoyed the food. The drinks are really good. I recommend the Diablo scramble. The last time we stopped in to eat, the place was absolutely freezing. All the Patrons had their coats on. We asked the server if the heat was working and she said it was. We sat at the bar and it was ice cold. None of the bartenders greeted us or acknowledged that we had sat down. After about ten minutes of freezing and not being greeted we decided to leave. The time before that we decided to leave because we couldn't get any service. We always go out of our way to stop by because the food and drinks are so good. However, I don't think we will be back for a while. At least until the service improves.

Seriously. The salads? Perfect. There's just something about apples and goat cheese that gets me every time. Fresh, balanced, and so good. The burgers are solid too. Nice crust, juicy patty, and consistently done right. And the French onion dip... I'd drink it if I could. No shame. The server, he was one of the reasons I was actually excited to come back. Unfortunately, my second visit was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Before we even sat down, we were greeted by the owner--or, more accurately, acknowledged as an inconvenience. The pub was nearly empty except for one gentleman at the bar, and she seemed far more interested in continuing that conversation than welcoming what appeared to be paying customers. It genuinely felt like interrupting someone's first date. When she finally came over, she somehow managed to be both smiling and incredibly hostile at the same time. It takes a special talent to make an entire group feel uncomfortable while wearing a grin, but she pulled it off flawlessly. The passive-aggressive Olympics would have awarded gold. I have no problem with owners having personality, but treating customers like they're a burden isn't a business model--it's a fast track to empty tables. Add in parking her Jeep in the closest customer spot right in front of the entrance, and it gave off the impression that customer convenience wasn't exactly high on the priority list. If the goal is to use the bar as a personal dating lounge, that's completely fine--but maybe rename it something like F-boy Island, Love Is Blind: Happy Hour Edition, or The Bachelorette Tavern. At least then customers would know what experience they're signing up for. To be fair, the place itself is adorable. It's cozy, unique, and obviously decorated with a lot of love. Between the Christmas lights, faux clouds, flowers, and whimsical touches, it feels less like an Irish pub and more like someone combined Pinterest with a Hallmark movie. Honestly, I'd hire her to decorate a little girl's bedroom in a heartbeat. After reading other reviews, I was disappointed--but not surprised--to see that this doesn't appear to be an isolated experience. It's unfortunate because the food, drinks, and atmosphere have so much potential. A welcoming attitude from the owner would had made all the difference. I'd happily return for the food and the server from my first visit. Returning for the hospitality? That's a much harder sell.
