They will price match, and their policy on tire care and quality assurance is wonderful for people like me that like travel. Overall service was great. However, their communication was not up to par at all. Our tire was not in stock, but they were getting it from another location. The service rep thought it would be in later that day (Wednesday) and would call when it was in. I missed 2 calls that afternoon from different numbers, but neither left a message. I had just assumed both were spam because one would assume that a business would leave a message letting me know my tire was in. Husband called the following morning to follow up and was told the tire was not in and deliveries usually occur around 3pm. Still didn't receive a call about our tire, so I called the next day to be told, "Oh we are glad you called back." Umm...I had no idea they had even called as no message was left. Found out my tire had arrived Wednesday afternoon and was told that whoever my husband talked to must have been confused. I am going to start this with a funny thing that happened while I was researching tires. Money was tight and I had 2 sets of tires to buy, a set for my car and a set for my wife's, the kid's car was already done. I have used the Yelp request a quote for some plumbing issues and it worked very well where I messaged many businesses. Many of them get back to you in a short time and give friendly advice along the way. I tried the same thing with tires. I was told by my brother-in-law that you can also find deals on slightly used tires. I wanted to see what i could find. I tried the request quote option and selected a bunch of recommended businesses and I got a lot of replies. One in particular actually said your best bet is to got to Discount Tire, they will give you the best price. I have used this place before and liked it so I had no problems going here. They have always done a great job for us. Some people expect these places to be open all night, be aware they close at 6pm on weekdays. They need to go home and enjoy some family time too. You can call to get a quote but i like to stop in. They pull up tires for your car, then they show you different options because no 2 tires are the same, then they try to up sell you into a better tire. That is all fine and good. In the past, you trusted the knowledge and recommendation of the advisors if they seem wise. Here they can compare tires but not only by price but actual customer numbers. When the tires are actually wearing out, how long others are getting on the tire both time and miles. They also have ratings for rain, snow, dry roads etc to compare. I am all about getting the most bang for my buck. On my wife's car we saw $60 tires that looked decent. He then tried to sell me $100 tires that would last longer but the other ratings were almost identical, i didn't feel the need to go up a tire on this car. The same kinda thing happened when we looked at tires for my car. I like to facts and numbers, I am a technical guy. I have always been treated well here. They are polite and will take down your number to return your call if the hold may be long. I got the son and wife's car done, mine is next week. read more

Omg! This place is amazing!! I limped in on a flat tire and was fully prepared to to wait forever and pay the price for not having an appointment. However, it was just the opposite. They were able to get me in right away and look at the problem tire. In the end there were no holes or obstructions in the tire. They think the valve stem may have just become stuck. Here the AMAZING part... they didn't even charge me. This place has all my future business and all the referrals to family and friends I can provide. Conveniently located off of Co. 42, these guys get er' done! They are always clear on timelines, but if you have time to kill and are hanging out, they have a lounge area and another area with a window to view the service area, where you can watch your car being worked on. I bought my tires here, so they offer free tire rotations every 5k Miles. Friendly folks but sometimes you have to wait just to be waited on while they handle customers on the phone, too. During our tire experience, everything was great. The store experience seemed awesome. We ended up having an issue that our mechanic advised us was an error made when our tires were replaced. We stopped into the store and showed the manager pictures. He took full accountability, apologized profusely, and told us he would use it as a training for his team. He even mentioned how dually trucks scare him. We left still feeling like this was a great experience, and super impressed with the great customer service. The manager submitted the claim to their claims department and it was denied. They are assuming zero responsibility. We called the store back on 09/22 and asked to speak with the manager. An assistant manager was available and said he would help us. We explained how the manager had assumed responsibility for the problem and now the claims department was denying it. He said he would discuss it with the manager and call us back. It's 09/26 and we still have not received a call back. I had concerns about bringing my car in as traditionally, a worker would have to get in my car to drive it into the shop for repair. With COVID and a pregnant wife, we have been hesitant to go anywhere to protect ourselves. I contacted Discount Tire to see what options were available and were very accommodating to limit contact. They didn't make me feel crazy or stupid and I felt safe the entire time. They allowed me to drive into the stall/area where they would change my tire. They also let me stay in the car while work was being done and kept me updated the entire time. The service I got was free but I'm sure they would've worked w me on a contactless payment method also. We need new tires on our 2014 Nissan Murano. We called over eight places to get quotes on tires discount tire came in over $200 cheaper than anyone. To make matters better we called at noon to secure a 330 appointment for tires they told us to be close to an hour after less than a half an hour we got a phone call and the car was complete. The staff was friendly and informative and we absolutely loved the tire buying experience. Had the pleasure of working with Jake, Dustin, Justin, Sam and Luke for various questions between ordering tires, appointments, tire pressure checks, etc. All of these employees were professional and made sure I was getting exactly what I needed for my car, even after I changed my mind about tires after they ordered them in for me. I was sort of shopping around for tires. I was certainly at that point where I needed them. But who wants to drop that kind of cash on your car? It wasn't desperation per se, but one my tires had a slow leak and I really didn't want to throw on the spare. Discount Tire isn't too far, and they treated me well in the past even if ultimately I didn't really like the tires they sold me back then. I was greeted warmly on entering and asked if I could wait a bit to be helped, which was fine. Talking to one of the front sales guys, I was blown away that they had 15 different tires for my required size in stock. I think that was the clincher, I'm all about options. I told (damn it, I forgot his name!) what I was looking for in the tire, he recommended the Pirelli's. Granted, I didn't call around but it seemed like a very good price from what I'd seen 'sort of' shopping around. So despite the leaky tire, I returned the next day. Including paperwork, I was in and out in less than hour. That makes me happy as well. I would be very close to giving a five star except for one thing. One of the things I look at when I'm sitting in the waiting room of any business is how clean it is. Because this is a automotive business, I think (or wonder) if the manager just let's it slide because tires are basically dirty. That's unfortunate because just a quick broom or vacuum would do wonders. All in all though, the guys were friendly and professional and I felt I was sold tires at a fair price. Yes, Discount Tire will accommodate your need to install winter tires late into the night at the onset of snow season. They will also repair your flat free of charge in most cases. I liked these 2 things about them. However, I came across some incidents that made me realize I was paying more at Discount Tire than other tire shops. Some tire shops will also do flat repairs for free. But even of they do charge, it is usually a small amount. Considering you don't get a flat every month, no worries there. When shopping for tires recently, I noticed that Discount tire was more expensive. Now, the tires themselves were not priced higher, but the mandatory service charges they added once the tires were in my shopping cart made the total cost quite higher than other shops. Then, further additional charges were added if I wanted hazard coverage (Tirerack.com, for example, includes 2 year hazard coverage for free as do other shops if you shop around; and no they are not all just pro-rated as Discount Tire would have you imagine). And then, the worst part is that if you haven't bought the tires from Discount Tire, the cost of service is downright outrageous. Recently, to move 4 tires from one set of wheels to another, Discount tire Apple Valley quoted me $172 labor (!). Their explanation was $11 to unmount from each wheel ($88), then $11 to mount each tire on the new wheel ($44), then $10 to spin balance each ($40), totaling $172. Hmm, I scratched my head. I asked for the manager and verified that it was not a mistake. It wasn't. This car was a newer addition to my fleet. So naturally, it came with tires and so I did not "buy" these tires from them. I asked the manager (Justin) if it helped that my other 2 cars in my home had tires bought from Discount Tire (I showed it to him on their system). Nopety nope. $172 it is. Take it or leave it. Hmm. I said, "No Thank You" and left. I then called a local tire shop in Bloomington (Tirezoo.com), asked for the same service. They quoted a total of $40 -- which included the same unmounts, mounts and spin balancing. Then I called another tire shop (Goodyear service) that was closer to my home. They quoted $60 though they had no time slots available for the day. Neither of these shops was anywhere close to the $172 that Discount Tire quoted. It was a 30 minute drive but I got my work done at the Bloomington tire shop. And their quality and workmanship were just as good, if not better. So unless you want a last-minute tire install once the snow has started to fall, I recommend getting your tires purchased, installed and serviced elsewhere. read more

First of all, I don't have any problem with the Apple Valley Discount Tire location or the employees. I would like to say that the staff is great and I have been doing business with them for a long time. This is about the Corporate side Greed and the Rebate Promotions they fail to honor. I went into Apple Valley Discount Tire for tires (what else) and the earliest appointment they had was weeks out, the day after Black Friday, so I took it. This had the added bonus of being able to get the Black Friday Discount, or so I thought. Promotion Name: BLACK FRIDAY 10% Mail-In Rebate 11-28-2019 to 12-01-2019 - 87192 I was in on the 30th, submitted the rebate on the 1st, and then on the 5th receive an email stating that I was denied because: "Your purchase was made outside of the promotional period.". Well my receipt... you know, that piece of paper thing they give you after you pay... with the purchase information needed for the above rebate... says I was in on the 30th well within the promotional period... so WTF! The thing is, if you really want to rip me off for 10% of the bill or around $80 give or take, then keep it. I can go elsewhere in the future, and you can't buy advertising like this... it has to be earned... all the single stars $80 bucks can buy. read more

Had an appointment there yesterday to get my snow tires taken off. When I went to pick up my vehicle they said they couldn't re-set the tire sensor because they had already loaded the snow tires in the car and it was throwing off the sensor. I asked if they could take the snow tires out, then re-set the sensor. The response was, "well we already loaded them so you'll just have to drop them off and drive back up". So I inquired, nicely, with the manager why they couldn't do that at the shop. He responded, "they probably just don't want to take out the tires from the trunk and re-load them, too bad". So I had to drive home, unload my tires, then drive back up to get the sensor re-set. Ridiculous. I have purchased 5 sets of tires over the past 8 years for my three cars. I dont review often. Especially on yelp. But I'm putting this EVERYWHERE. THE APPLE VALLEY LOCATION IS NOT GOOD. I took my friend in on saturday. It was about noonish. Apparently she had 40 cars ahead of hers. "Well get it done today" they said. They close at 5. They KEPT taking walk ins even though they were FULLY booked. And taking in WAY more than they can handle. They were supposed to be fixing the front DRIVERS SIDE tire. Sunday comes and front passenger side is FLAT. Whats worse? They apparently were TRYING TO FIX THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE. HOW DID THIS GET MISSED IF THAT WAS THE CASE? Driving on a donut on the freeway is a no go. Soooo I'm in her car unless it gets fixed. I just spend 2 hours at the burnsville location. Taking away TWO HOURS OF MY WORKDAY. LOSING OUT ON PAY. So her car can be fixed because this location lacks apparently common sense. OH and even after this mess up due to the tire being replaced. She now has to pay $17 for a new Warranty on the new tire. Apple valley location should take care of that for for making is wait on Saturday, for 6-7 hours. That's right 6-7 HOURS. PLUS making me have to go in AGAIN today to actually have a competent location actually fix it. OH BUT WAIT. Now we have to go back to ACTUALLY GET DRIVERS SIDE LOOKED AT AGAIN. Why? BECAUSE THEY DIDNT LOOK AT IT. Practices at this location need to SERIOUSLY be looked at. This is disgusting and is HIGHLY unacceptable at a shop. (My BF is a mechanic at a dealership.
