These guys are amazing. 35 minutes from start to finish to replace four tires. Every person I met was friendly and knowledgeable. I googled everyone, and they had the best price for Michelins, including installation, new TPMS, and lifetime rotation and balance. However, I do wish they had more service representatives in the lobby, and to prioritize the customer in front of you rather than answering the phone. Overall, our experiences at Discount Tire have been positive but our last visit takes the cake! Last Friday, we took our truck in for a repair to a tire before a trip to Dallas. They repaired the tire and we left for our trip. During the trip we began to hear a loud thumping noise coming from the back of the truck. It progressed but being a weekend and in another city we just wanted to get home to have it checked on. Well, upon review on Monday morning, the tire that Discount Tire had repaired was not put back on securely! This is a very dangerous and very serious mistake!! This could have caused an accident or worse. So, my word of advise if using Discount Tire is to review their work prior to leaving the parking lot. Have them show you that the lug nuts are secure! Hope that noone else ever has to experience this. read more

I would not go anywhere else for tires! I love the way you are treated the second you walk into discount until you leave. They let you know they will be right with you as soon as they can and are so polite! You are even offered a cold bottle of water while waiting. The guy that helped me was awesome. I went in to get the tires balanced and he took me in the garage to SHOW me that the rim was bent. Such a great place. Everyone was very friendly, even on the phone, i originally went to Walmart but they were being very rude. I found it odd since i wanted to buy 4 new tires, pricey purchase, so i left there and called discount, got me a good price on all 4 tires, they only had three in stock but they put those on and went and picked up the 4th and set me up an appointment for the next day to put it on. Got there the next day. Same guy remembered me, took my keys, and had the last tire on in 20 min. And the warranty and free rotations is great too. When we moved to Austin over two years ago, we started our tire maintenance and replacement services with the Slaughter store, and they are definitely up to the same high standard as the other stores I've dealt with. Phenomenal customer service! Shortly after I bought a new set of tires at Discount Tire, I got a flat on the highway on a road trip. The tire was ruined. Although Discount Tire shops are everywhere in Texas, it was a Sunday and they are closed on Sundays. I was initially frustrated that I had to buy a new tire at Wal-mart when I had paid for the Discount Tire warranty. Once back in town I stopped at my regular Discount Tire and they not only gave me a new tire to match the set I purchased from them, but they reimbursed me for the tire I bought at Wal-mart. All I had to pay was about $20 for the warranty to apply to my new, free tire. I was floored and thrilled. A week or two before this, Discount Tire repaired - for free - a nail puncture on my other car's original factory tires. The staff at Discount Tire is so quick and friendly when you roll up for a free air pressure check. Before becoming a Discount Tire customer, I purchased tires at Costco. I've been a Discount Tire customer for nearly 20 years, and have been quite satisfied with their product knowledge and services. Yesterday, I came in to have a tire puncture repaired at their Slaughter Lane location. Fairly routine procedure, right? During the repair, something went amiss with the bead-breaker causing damage to the tire sidewall. Without hesitation, my service rep, Bradin, immediately explained what happened, provided me with a temporary tire so that I could run my other errands during the day, and ordered a new replacement tire which arrived and was installed by the afternoon. I was thoroughly impressed by Bradin's above and beyond exceptional customer service, and it's why I'll continue to remain a loyal customer and recommend Discount Tire. i had my tires rotated from this place 6 months ago. the messed up my rims. 2 of my 19 inch rims were scratched up - one had a visible dent from a lug nut and the other had a dime sized hole where the clearcoat was hit by the impact wrench. when it was time to rotate them, i went to another place to get them done. that is where we found out that discount tires slaughter lane overtorqued the bolts on ALL the tires. the bolts were so tight, the impact wrench was useless. they needed a breaker bar to loosen them. the torque settings are supposed to be at 80 ft-lbs. this was also listed on their webpage. https://www.discounttiredirect.com/learn/wheel-torque#hyundai read more

We went back to Discount Tire because we had 6 tires put on our food truck. We weren't able to add air to the tires because the valve stems were pointing into the rim. We ask them to fix it just so we could add air and after 2 hours they said they couldn't because their jack didn't work for our truck even though Discount Tire installed them in the first place. 2 days later 7 of the 8 lugs busted off the rim while my wife was returning from a lunch she was catering. It was a miracle she wasn't injured. We had it towed back to Discount Tire and only asked that they cover the towing and fix the lugs even though my wife could have been seriously injured because of their carelessness. They said they wouldn't do anything for us or pay our towing bill. They said they didn't do any work on the truck even though they had the truck over 2 hours 2 days before. We reminded them that we have been coming to their business for a combine total of 40 years. They thanked us and told us they couldn't do anything for us. We had to pay again to have it towed to another shop. Both tow truck drivers, the other shop mechanics and even the police officer that helped us said the same thing, that the Discount Tire "mechanic" that worked on our truck didn't tighten the lug nuts all the way. This made the wheel vibrate and break all the lugs at once. They may be cheaper but be careful of their work. read more

Went there today at 4:10 p.m., doors were locked, garages were closed, and employees were in their cars leaving the lot. The door said they close at 5:00 on Saturday and so does the website. So one would expect them to be there until 5:00. I went to lambs across the street and they were still open and fully attentive. Needless to say, they just won my business. read more

I called about getting new tire, David told me to come in and he'd make sure I was taken care of. He showed me the wear on my tires, and according to my needs, he gave me a couple of options. They'd rotate the 2 good ones I had, put the 2 new ones and he even thought to replace my very dried out spare tire with the best old tire. That took a little longer bc the key wouldn't fit, but Chris tried until he got it. They stayed late to get it all done and I appreciated their hard work to get me safely back on the road. Went in today to get my tires looked at and one of them repaired. The customer service was absolutely stellar and I highly recommend paying these guys a visit next time tires are needed, I know I will. It wasn't mentioned by me or anything but one of the workers was thoughtful enough to go above and beyond with my CR-V and if they are reading this, I want to let you know it did not go unnoticed. My clutch had a horrible squeak to it when I pulled in today. Low and behold, as I left, the squeak was gone. Someone went the extra mile and greased it up in the right spot making the nuisance disappear. It's the little things like that which make all the difference in the world. I received beyond fabulous service at this location. I got a nail in the sidewall of my tire & needed to purchase a new one. I shopped around for tire prices & no one beat Discount Tire. I called ahead, they ordered the tire & set up an appointment for me for the next day. When I arrived for my appointment they gave me quick personalized service, including patiently listening to the following sob story; I had taken my vehicle, which was handling fine, to the dealer for routine maintenance. I had them rotate the tires. When I left the dealer my vehicle drove horribly. It was imbalanced. I later took it back to the same dealer to have the tires balanced. They charged me for the service, the vehicle still drove like crap, & told me the tires couldn't be balanced. I asked Discount Tire to try and give their opinion. Not only were they able to balance the tires, they felt so bad for me that they gave me a lifetime balance for my tires (that is usually reserved for tires purchased at Discount Tire & the four tires they balanced were not). THEY WENT BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY! They now have a customer for life. When my four tires need replacing I'm definitely going back to this location. read more

I took my car in to get a new set of tires and was treated very well. Even though I already knew what tires I wanted to buy the saleman looked to see if there was a better deal for me and he found a better set of tires for only $1 more a tire and with a $60 dollar rebate. I really appreciated that he did not try to upsell me or pressure me to get something a lot more expensice. Discount Tire was also the only place I looked where the online price and the store price matched. I also mentioned in passing that my lights were not working correctly and I am preety sure he fixed them for me. Plus it only took 45 minutes for them to change all 4 of my tires. My husband and I have been going to this Discount Tire Store location for a few years now. My husband had a full set of new tires put on his '08 BMW 550i (sport package tires) back in 2012. Shortly thereafter he got a nail in the tire and though he did not purchase the guarantee at installation, they honored it with him purchasing it right then. Great customer service. Last year we also put a full set of new tires on my old car ('01 BMW 525i) everything was smooth - great service. Now this year we put 2 new tires on my '04 BMW 530i - again it was great customer service. I had a flat, they put a loaner on so I could drive while they ordered the tires we needed/wanted. They also do price matching so if you find a better deal anywhere else, they will honor the price. They got my tires in real quick and installed them in about 45 minutes. All the sales associates and tire mechanics seem to be happy and genuinely interested in your satisfaction with their product/service. Think about it...one of the most important safety aspects of a car is having tires in excellent condition...how many lives do these guys save every year by being there and doing a great job? : ) read more
