Woke up to a flat tire from a screw and then a nail in my spare tire! After AAA rescued me, I got over to discount tire. Since the tires on the car were purchased from them, they were under warranty so the patch was covered. They did a rotation and balance while they were in there (also covered under warranty). They couldn't fix the spare, but got me a full replacement for next to nothing AND it's now also under lifetime warranty. I bought 2 new tires in which they placed on the rear azle and the tire tech who put my new tires on rotated the tires should have noticed that the non- new tires were LOW and did not put air in the Low tires. A family member noticed it when it returned home. Smh. The service rep who sold me the new tires deserve the 5 star rating. Shameful that I was not given full tire quality treatment and they failed to notice during rotation when removing my other non- new tires that they were low in air when they had a a sign " Free Air." The tire tech let female customer drive off with low tires and you are a man. That's why women come to tire shops in hopes of getting male expertise on tires. This past weekend I was told by a "car expert" that my tires were balding and i would need to get new tires. When I arrived to DT ready to drop $800 on tires, I was greeted outside by one of their employees and he asked what he could do for me. I blurted out that I need 4 new tires. He graciously asked if he could check my tires tread. After he checked them, I was surprised when he said my tires are still good and new tires are not needed at this point. I looked at him in shock thinking to myself this guy just saved me $800 by being honest and telling me that they were not needed. Their service is excellent except that they recommend Rush Automotive for heir alignment. Not a very good shop. I had a bad experience with Rush Automotive because their alignment is not the best they do. I brought the alignment documentation and thy cold have done a much better job. Very disappointed. I had my car for an oil change and thy screwed that also. A simple oil change. Could not do it correctly. Discount Tire should stop promoting Rush Automotive and get a knowledgeable, competent, trustworthy shop. I hope Discount Tire and Rush Automotive would rethink how they do business. read more

I am a long time return customer. I agree with most of the positive reviews on this location and I keep returning even though I live in Lago Vista. However, the same cannot be said for the Yokohama Rubber Company, Limited. Buyer beware, they do not stand behind their products! I bought a set of Geolander tires for my Tundra. They have 7839 miles on them and they vibrate like they are out of balance. Discount Tire found them to be in balance but they discovered flat spots on the tires. Discount Tire called Yokohama. Yokohama offered a 65% allowance toward another set of tires. I called Yokohama myself and after some discussion they offered 85%. I told them to be fair they should be offering 95%. The representative kept handing me a canned speech about how their defective flat spots are unwarrantable. I don't care one bit what their "policy" is, they sold me a very expensive set of bad tires and now I am stuck with riding around on what feels like 4 stop signs. Buy from Discount Tire, but don't buy Yokohama! Here is an update: This problem was solved (with no help from Yokohama) by Chris at Discount Tire. He arranged to put 4 new tires on my truck at no cost to me! These guys are the best. read more

Monday June 27. I needed a flat fixed on my Air Conditioning Truck. I had a full day of service calls and, of course, a flat tire. Got to DT just before they opened, but already there was a line. I was greeted by Javier, who I believe is an assistant manager. I approached him and asked if there was anyway they could get my flat fixed without having to wait in such a long line. Javier recognized the time critical nature of my business. He said, "I can't move you up the line, that's not fair." but.... nothing says a manager can't occasionally get his hands dirty. Javier jumped in and removed, repaired and reinstalled the tire himself. Javier saved the day and kept me from having to reschedule a days worth of appointments. Javier really got me out of a pinch. Loved every bit of my experience. Eduardo met me outside and asked me what was going on w my tires. He was VERY professional and explained everything in detail to where I could understand. Eduardo asked if I would like a water ... I saw coffee and said, 'I'll just get myself some coffee'. I was super impressed by how another employee immediately went and poured a cup of coffee for me and even put sugar in it. Another employee was on the phone during this time and I have to say ... he sounded very professional as well. His shirt said 'Jason'. In general I always recommend discount. Went in to get a flat fixed and a new replacement, there was an issue finding my warranty in their computer system, but the gentlemen working the desk went above and beyond in solving the issue (as did the person they had to call at the 183 store). When it was all said and done my warranty was honored, they got my tires replaced in 40 minutes (20 minutes faster than the hour the manager quoted). The customer service is very good here. I go and I will continue to go. All tire stores will have their pros and cons and this one is mostly pros. What you should know is that the guarantee really is just a gimmick. You'll pay to get the guarantee (it doesn't automatically come just because you bought tires from them) and if you should ever need to take advantage of it, you'll get some "credit" toward the purchase of a new tire but you will never just get a "replacement" like they make it sound. So, it's really insurance with an out of pocket deductible. Also please know that you must get your rotations from them... if you don't, they may tell you that you've invalidated the warranty and the entire cost of the new tire will be yours. read more

One of the tires had 3 separate nails in it and rather than just patch it up they warrantied the tire and put a new one on without my asking for it - no charge. These guys were so understanding given the circumstances. I went to them this morning thinking I just needed air in my tires, and they found a nail inside! Crazy! I didn't think much of it and was late for a meeting, but granted after the meeting I had a flat tire. I recently purchased a set of hard to find tires for my RV. The new tires were a bit noisy, not that big a deal for me but very problematic for my wife. She wears hearing aids and certain frequencies are more intense for her than they would be for the rest of us. She actually had trouble hearing my voice while we were in the RV. We went to Discount Tire and explained our situation asking what they could do for us, if anything. They could not have been more helpful. They replaced the tires with another model. The replacement tires cost a bit more but they did not charge me extra. They really care about the customer. I will not hesitate to do business with them again and I think you should too. I rarely say this about a business but this DT provided EXCELLENT over-the-top service. Went in frazzled with a flat tire and flat spare but left completely at ease and reassured. Had front two tires replaced (for a reasonable price) and when I was initially told one of my tires would not be able to be serviced due to low treading, they still serviced it and even provided me a replacement tire with better treading (free of charge!) Everyone here seemed genuinely nice and caring. From previous experience, I tend not to trust anyone in the automative industry but this was a rare situation where I felt completely comfortable and like I was in good hands. read more

So I visited this store again because of the awesome experience I had there last time. This time I set up two appointments, one to have my front two tires replaced on my work car and to have my wife's tires rotated. As soon as I walked through the door, I was immediately acknowledged, which was actually a bit of an improvement from last visit. The waiting was minimal, the customer service exceeded the par, and the product is great! I saved money and they knocked out the appointments in a matter of minutes. I'll say for the most part my experience with this store alright at best. Didn't have to wait too long with an appointment made. Still waited over an hour. I had two vehicles, my mother needed her tires rotated And balanced as well. They did mine first and got to it quickly. I was actually surprised. Then it was done and parked. But then my mothers car got skipped 3-4 times. I said hold up wtf is going on. Asked one of the guys there why it was being skipped over and he went and talked to his shop manager or who ever. I over heard The manager getting hissy fitty and said "well there's other appointments too". Yeah ya think? Turns out some genius put her car on the wait list and then some other worker who wasn't paying attention grabbed my truck before he was suppose to. Anyways they took her car and it got done in about 15. I noticed, as we all do when we get home, they were not careful with my after market wheels. The x series rims for trucks. You need an extension to get to the lugs which I provided. And to take the small plastic hub cap off you need an Allen wrench. The hub cap sticks out from the rest of the wheel. Anyways I noticed that every single Hub cap was damaged. There's cracks in it, the "chrome" paint is freaking chipped at every single location of a lug and surrounding area. Pics to come. Really, how hard is it to secure the tire first then put the hub cap back on. Even some the metal parts are rounded off around the lugs. I know it happened here because I check my stuff like people check their clock at the end of a work day. Laziness is a virtue with some people. This is why I can't have nice things. 1 star for damaging $400 rims, no attention to detail. Get your shit together and treat people's property as your own. Yeah it's just plastic and I can replace it. But I bet that shit will be $100 to get all four replaced if they have replacement parts. read more

I was being recommend by one of the auto mechanic shops as they don't have tires. I saw the reviews but wasn't sure about the time slot I gave it to them. It was Saturday 4:20 I dropped my car with 2 flat vandalized tires to be taken of and have new tires. I was received by Daniel head of the store very pleasing way and assured me that it would be done by end of the day which is next 30-45min. They are all busy and I wasn't sure they could do it as the closing time was 5 . Damm they stayed extra 45 min to fix my car and not only mine did help everyone who arrived well with in 5. I got all new Goodyear tires there about 3 years back. The tires started to crack in front. It was very disheartening and baffling since my car is small and kept in a garage at all times. Then both fronts started to leak, and the right one leaked really bad and went flat. I put on my spare, drove over to Discount Tire expecting to pay for a patch job, but instead had both my tires replaced under warranty! My only cost was that of buying a new warranty for the new tires - superior Yokohama tires this time. There was never an attempt to up-sell me on anything or haggle over any possible services or products. I didn't even bring up the warranty issue, they did. It's nice to be able to put trust in a company to do the right thing without being asked.. It's more surprising to see it in a franchise auto service. I don't know the names of other tire service businesses honestly and I don't think I'll ever keep a look out. This is the ONLY place to go for tires. read more

Jordan was able to get me an awesome deal and didnt try to pressure me into buying the certs/road hazzard warranty. He was even able to get the rims picked up from their Round Rock location that same day and had them ready for me that afternoon. This place is a little busier than the Pflugerville store but the guys here are all super helpful, professional and hard workers.
