I've been to a different Discount Tire before and had a great experience, so when I noticed a slow leak the other week, I made an appointment here for a repair. We're almost 3 months in to the COVID-19 pandemic so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Discount Tire had a small space coned off as a low-contact check in area, where I waited inside my Grand Cherokee. Eventually, Ian came out. After greeting me, he asked if I was Allen, and said I was just in time for my 2:15 appointment. Ian was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and and when I asked about how long the work would take, he said typically less than an hour, could be as many as two if things get really chaotic. He stressed this was definitely unexpected, though. He indicated a tent outside with chairs (one chair) and asked for me to move my Grand Cherokee over to the side until a tech was free. Promptly at my appointment time, someone came by and explained I was to drive my own car in to the bay he indicated and they'd do the work without getting in my vehicle. This was great news to me because I was wondering how this was going to go while keeping germs to a minimum. I settled in outside for what I was prepared to be two hours. 25 minutes later, it was done. The tech explained the findings and the patch that they'd done and commented all four tires were good to go for a number of years yet. I hopped in my Grand Cherokee and off I went. Discount Tire provided a great, completely contact-less visit during this pandemic and I am very grateful for how they've adapted to changes while maintaining a customer first attitude. Kevin Le associate quickly assessed the damaged, temporally patched the tire and ordered a new tire(old tire was still under warranty) from another store that was delivered that evening. I started using Discount Tire when I lived in a different state, and the shop was close to my house. Since moving to Washington, I have continued to use Discount Tire, but it has been less convenient and I have entertained ideas of switching to a business that is more convenient. However, after the wonderful experience I had at the Burien Discount Tire, I will be a loyal customer. I came into the shop for a flat tire, that I was hoping would be an easy fix. They told me that I had actually damaged the wheel and they would need to order a part to fix it. In the meantime, I was using my spare and it was frightfully low after sitting in my trunk for 12 years. They tried to inflate the spare for me, but it was so low that they were not able. They directed me to a gas station where I would fill it myself. Admittedly, this sounded like a bad idea to me, but I went to the gas station to try. I immediately broke the nozzle on the spare tire and watched the little air inside the tire deflate out. Super frustrated with myself and my current situation, I went back to Discount and asked if there was any other solution than leaving my car at discount for two weeks, while we waited for the new wheel to come in. I was prepared for the staff to roll their eyes at the idiot who broke their spare tire, but Michael was so gracious, telling me that the piece I broke is thin tin and often breaks on people. He offered to fix my spare tire at no cost and was able to do so in less than 20mins!! I was blown away. I worked with Timothy and Michael. Both were so kind and helpful. I drove my car to Discount with a slow tire leak, and I needed to get it repaired, as the tire is under warranty. I was told that the next available appointment was four days from now, so I asked if I could have some air put into the tire so I could go somewhere else to get the tire repaired sooner. They refused, telling me that they can only put air in my tire if there was more than 15 lbs currently in the tire -- but I could go next door to the Fred Meyer and spend $1.50 on THEIR air machine to fill it up. Needless to say, I will NOT be going back to Discount Tire. I took care of the leak (a leaky valve) at Marty's Used Tires and was back on the road in less than thirty minutes. Funny thing is: Marty's can get the same tires Discount has for about 80% of the price at Discount -- and there is not appointment needed. read more

Great experience!!! Brought my 13 Audi S4 in because one of my tires was leaking air and I had the wrong hub centric rings on my wheels so they had an annoying vibration. The manager Michael Wax told me that my car was going to be ready at 10:00 and it was and now drives amazing I can believe I drove it with the vibration for almost a year it is a night and day difference. I dont usually get my service done at this discount tire... i work near by and got a flat tire. Not once did i think my stupid prius did not have a spare. My flat was 2 exits away and during covid i knew that discount tire would only take appointments. I called, and i wish i could remember his name, and i explained that i can uber it to him but i need my tire repaired if he could squeeze me in. No hesitation he told me to come in and ask for him and that he would personally take care of it for me. When i got there within 5 min he had me on my way. He didnt repair my tire because it was damaged so bad but he replaced my tire. Thank goodness for that insurance. To that gentleman, thank you for that that day. UPDATE: I figured these guys were probably straight shooters, now I have proof. My AWD car had a slow leak. I took it to another Major Tire Store (I won't name names, but it rhymes with 'Guess Slob'), because they had repaired the tire a few months ago when it picked up a nail. The told me (1) the patch didn't hold, (2) they would not try to fix it again ans refused to put it back on the car (they did mount the spare) and (3) I had to buy a whole new set of four tires, the cheapest option being about $800 OTD. I decided to go to Discount Tire, as I've done business with them before, and they could sell me a set of tires from the same manufacturer as the OEM tires (Yokohama) for about $400. Turns out I didn't need them. The guy at DT told me (1) the previous repair had not been done correctly (they used a patch v. plug+patch), (2) they would fix my tire at no charge, and (3) my current set of tires had about 5,000 miles of treadlife on them before I'd have to think about replacing them. SOOOO.....in about 4 months, guess who's going to get my business when I am ready to replace these tires (hint: it's not the guys whose name rhymes with 'Guess Slob')? I can't speak for all DT stores, but the ones at this shop are straight shooters! read more

Flat tires are an unfortunate part of life, so when the inevitable happened, I headed here because my husband said that he had a great experience with them. I walked in with the expectation of spending an afternoon but was pleasantly surprised with a quick consultation and they had my tire patched and all my tires rotated within an hour free of charge! There were some up sell suggestions but definitely not high pressure and lets face it folks, that's how businesses make their money, especially if they're fixing and rotating everyone's tires for free. If the products are comparable, and tires are, then the differentiation become quality of workmanship and customer service. The level of customer orientation at this store is off-the-charts good. Joe was masterful in his solutions to my dilemma and exceeded my expectations. On a trip from Seattle to Portland, I got an un-repairable sidewall flat. Late in the day, there was no way to get a 245/40 R18 Pirelli P-Zero into his shop. Joe arranged a loaner tire and contacted my neighborhood shop in Gresham, Or and set up a tire installation for the next morning. Wow, just wow. Repeated visits and continuously disappointed. Their first response is always no, you have to prod to get them to care / look into details. Waited 2 weeks for a delivery confirmation at one point just to have the gentleman tell that it was cancelled for some reason (I was charged). First to arrive today, tried to drop my car off for a balancing (unable to make my original appt because the tire mentioned earlier never showed). Despite being the first customer in the lot at 7:30 and waiting patiently they flat out refused to take my drop off. Will never spend another dollar at discount. Same price as other dealers, the only thing discounted was the value of service provided. Buyer beware you are better off elsewhere. read more

These people offer great prices and are located close to home, so I use them. There are a lot of things I don't like about them though. They have a tiny inventory, so they have to order tires from different locations. They told me that it would only take one day, but they didn't call me to tell me they got them in for 5 days. They are slow. Another thing I don't like is that making an appointment doesn't do you any good. I made an appointment to have my tires looked at and when I got there, on time, I entered a lobby with a line going all the way to the door. Apparently nobody actually makes reservations here. A walk-in who got there before you would be helped before you, even if it was your time slot. I don't think that's how a business should be run. Finally, there is not enough parking. So little in fact that most people here park illegally. If it wasn't for their outstanding tire warranties at low prices, I wouldn't bother with them. read more

I invested in some winter tires last year, wasn't really sure how well they would work in a real snowfall. Wowee can I say I am impressed! They were not overhyped by the salesman at all, and I have been safely getting back and forth to work all week, better than expected! It is easy and quick to go in and have them switched out for the season. I love the location because I can go do the grocery shopping at Fred Meyers while I wait to save time. The customer service is always nice and friendly, and you can see they really hustle around the shop. Horrible experience. I originally had an appointment at the Renton discount tires at 1. I derped and sent to the Burien one by mistake. I told the worker that I went to the wrong place I'll go there instead. He stated no worries he can get me in at 1 and it would take an hour. I was ok with that and told my gf not to get me since it was only an hour. After seeing 6 cars come in and out after me I asked what was going on. They stated they had appointments before. How can they be before me if I was here at 1. The worst part is because of Covid there was no wait room so I have been sitting out the the hot sun on the sidewalk for 2 hours. Won't come here again and will still with Les Schwab. They are more pricy but at least they have better service read more

I just had a great experience with Discount Tires in Burien. I found out I needed to make an mediate trip to go pick up a puppy in a neighboring state when I remembered my tires need to be replaced. I called and spoke to Patrick at 3:00 who advised me to make to purchase online then come to the store for installation. when I arrive, they were so busy but replaced my tires the same day. Patrick took time to make friendly conversation and I waited for about an hour. While I was waiting I watched through the window as a multitude of hard-working young workers orchestrated the replacement of tires, so many people and cars came in and out. everyone I spoke to was professional and took time to be curious and polite. I have always had a great experience with Discount Tire but especially this location. But tonight was above and beyond. I had tires ordered on Monday and they got in on Tuesday. When I ordered them they didn't have any appointments available until after Christmas but leaving it all day was an option. So I opt'd for that & went down tonight to drop off my car after work. Gilbert Drew called me up to that counter and I explained everything. He said dropping it off wasn't necessary because they could have my car done in an hour and a half. Cool! I paid for everything and left to hang out with my friend. About10 min before the time he gave me I got a call. He said it would be another 15mins because they couldn't find the tires I ordered so for the inconvenience they upgraded to the next better tire in that brand for at no extra costvto me. I was blown way happy thatcmy car was going to ready way before expected but I am beyond thrilled they made things right with misplacing or quite possibly sold "my tires" to someone by mistake (I didn't prepay for the tires).
