He also found a discount for me and wrote a note on my receipt to present to City of Seattle confirming the damaged tires and need to replace all 4 due to my car being AWD. Ran over a screw and needed to get my tire patched. Went to Discount Tire in Burien first after hearing they offered to do it for "free". I was skeptical at first because I figured they'd end up trying to sell me new tires... after waiting an hour, that's exactly what they did. I asked if they could still patch the tire, a temporary patch, or anything they could do. They said they couldn't do anything. Wow thanks for wasting my time. I decided to call Les Schwab in Burien, they said it would could $14.99. After 35 mins they fixed my tire, inflated all my other tires to be even, and said it was on the house. Went here yesterday to get a tire patched. Come back and hour later with a bunch of groceries, and my car its still sitting there in the parking lot, not even touched. I had to leave with a low, untepaired tire because i had kids to pick up from school.I could see if i needed new tires or something extensive but just a patch?! It didnt help that there were about 4 employees inside, having a great time instead of helping customers. I knew this place was slow but for the love of God, at least act like you care. We stopped by to get our tire looked at turns out there was a screw in it. The new tire was at a very decent price and Joe the gentleman who assisted us was extremely busy since the snow had just hit and everyone was getting chains and such. We were going to take the new tire and put it on our selves since it was a line. Joe put it on for us right in the parking lot so quick and it was so nice and helpful. My husband who was just off work from a labor job was so happy he didn't have to do it. My experience with the Burien branch of Discount Tire was painless and smooth (and why does that description make me think of a bowel movement?). Anyhow, Alan Rigtrup, Assistant Manager, was very helpful on the phone and in person, and helped me into my Goodyear Triple Tread tires. Unbelievable service at Discount Tire. The free service at Discount tire is 10 times better than the paid service at Costco Tire Center. I had a flat recently and since my wife had already gone to Discount tire twice recently for a free flat repair (for a tire that was not bought there) I felt bad and thought I would go to Costco instead. Costco makes you pay for the flat repair upfront and then as I was browsing the aisles after a half hour I got a call saying they have a problem. I go there and the guy comes up and says the previous patches were too close (6 inches apart and close to center) and it was improper and tried to get me to buy a new set of 4 tires. As an engineer who does most of my own maintenance I have read the American Tire Manufacturers guidelines front and back and this would be well within those so I tell them I will think about it and let them know. I came home double checked the guidelines and decided to do my own repair or take it to Discount Tire again. Guess what, Discount tire fixed it in the same 30 minutes with friendly smiling service and the guy who handed me the keys back said "It was just a simple puncture" without any prompting and wouldn't take any payment. While I was waiting to checkin I also noticed the person at the desk calmly explain (to what I assume was an old lady) what kind of tires she needed and how she can buy them wherever she wanted. Taking care of car issues, is not my thing. It's not because I am a woman, it's simply because anything related to car and car repairs is totally out of my realm. Today I needed to go and get some new tires. After looking at a few sites, I decided that I would try my locate Discount Tire place. I did a bit of research and liked their site and their prices. Armed with info, off I went. I know a little bit about what I want and I'm hoping I get someone who doesn't try and sell me anything that I don't want. I'm replacing two tires today and that's it. I go into this place and it's super busy. Someone behind the counter tells me they will be with me in a few minutes. A very nice man starts to help me. He asks me pertinent info and says let's go take a look at your van. He gets all the info and we go back inside. Here is where I think ok here comes the sales pitch, but that didn't happen. He starts showing me tires and was very honest about some tires that they carry but that are not getting good reviews, lack of wear and tear, they aren't lasting, etc. We go through a few more and he shows me how these tires will perform in different scenarios (inclement weather, etc), all of which I find very helpful and actually interesting. So I select a tire and he shows me how much and breaks it all down. We talk about me coming back in, later on to get two more and he doesn't try to talk me into this right here and now, which was really refreshing. He takes my cell number and asks if i would like to contacted via text when it's done. I say sure thing. Now it took awhile to get my tires done but it's because I had a very bad tire lock that wasn't workable at all and they had to work to get my tire off. All in all, customer service here was wonderful. Jeremy, the Manager, is the person who helped me and he was really very helpful. There was a huge amount of people coming in and out and they were being helped quickly and with great customer service. Note: while I was waiting, a woman came in, gave her contact number which brought up the name of a man. She took great offense to this and was quick to respond with a huge amount of anger. She went so far as to say that due to this lack of customer service that she should receive a discount on her tires. It was a simple mistake which became a huge problem to her. I will have to say that they manager showed great restraint and did apply a discount which was totally uncalled for, in my opinion. Bottom line is: this is a good place that provides good service. As a woman, sometimes going into places where it is male dominated field can be trying, but not here. I plan to go back and get my other two tires put in place and I am counting on the same good customer service. Take advantage of a place like this if you need tires, you won't be sorry! read more

FYI--They close at 5 pm, but actually continue to work until all the cars are done. They take appointments and walk ins. I was a walk-in at 4:30 pm when I discovered my flat tire. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. I had my dog with me and they let him come in and wait with me. The best part about it all -- they didn't charge a dime. At a time when everything seems broken it was so refreshing to deal with some real professionals who know what they are doing. I had shopped around other places trying to get some new tires during the recent snow event only to be told it was a minimum of a week to get them . But i calle these guys, they had the tires in stock , they encouraged me to buy online & walked me through the process. Their policy is if you buy online you don"t need an installation appointment. Purchased tires online and made an appointment on a Saturday morning which I knew was risky as it's a busy time. When I got to the store there was about 12 people inside waiting. I had heard that even with an appointment sometime walk-ins have priority so I was a bit worried. Well that wasn't the case at all. I was greeted immediately by name as they must have known I was there for my appointment. They got my keys, information, and started on the car. Couldn't even finish a 25 minute show before they were finished. They pulled the car around with my new tires and I was out of there. Extremely professional and quick work. Unless it's an emergency I highly recommend making an appointment online. Also of note, the workers were very knowledgeable and professional. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and I noticed it was the same working with other customers over the phone and in person. I recently visited this tire shop when my tires croaked on my AWD car. First off... they were fast. Clearly they had just the right amount of staff to handle walk up customers. He was out looking at my tire within minutes. I was very happy that when showing me my options, he offered a less expensive tire as a better alternative to my Pirelli tires saving me $45/tire! I was skeptical, but he assured me I'd get the same or better performance (and they have a 30 day money back guarantee.) Sure enough, the tires they suggested drive like a dream, have a 30k warranty and are even quieter than my original tires. Helpful tip, be sure to ask for a discount if they don't offer one up front (or even if they do.) this place WILL negotiate. read more

One of my tires kept losing air so I brought my car to one of those used tire places to have fixed thinking that they could just patch the hole. One of the workers said that two of my tires were worn and showed me used tires they had for purchase. I thought if I had to replace my tires then I should just buy new ones. I ended up at Discount Tires without an appointment. It was busy but they were able to replace my two front tires with new Michelins in about an hour as they said they would. Service was fast and courteous. Three months later I ended up with a flat with my old tire so I decided to get the last two tires replaced. Again I went in without an appointment and they were able to put my new tires on within an hour. So I am not sure where these screws were coming from but three weeks later I got a flat. I went in again to get it fixed. Each time I went in it was always fast courteous service. Next time I have issues with my tires or need a new set for my other vehicles I will be getting them here. read more

When I stopped to get my tires inflated, nails were found in 2 tires. I decided to have all four tires replaced. Because I was a walk-in I was resigned to spending some time waiting, which gave me a few hours to observe. While it was busy with a full appointment schedule and many walk-ins, the employees were extremely polite, both on the phone and at the counter, in spite of having 3 employees not show up for work! There were 4 or 5 working in the bay - running non-stop. They were awesome! I was a flight attendant for 44 years and appreciate how difficult it can be to work with the public - especially short-handed. I would like to acknowledge Joe, who was managing that day, and Isiah. Got new tires 5 days ago from here and had one go flat. When I showed up they said I would have to wait 1.2 hours to get it fixed or a new tire put on. They said the car would not be going into the shop for 27 minutes. I told them I was going to drop my 3 year old off at day care and would be back in time. The rep told me if I left I would go to the end of the line. I dropped my son off, came back in 20 minutes and the rep got the car in within 5 minutes. In the end they got it done in the time that I expected. They do need to change their policy about their "line" for customers who get tires that have a defect within 7 days. They should go to the front of the line. Originally I had posted a 1 star review as I was not impressed as I went to drop my son off. They have made it right and I have chosen to change the review to a 5 star review. read more

Wow! I'm very impressed. I had a slow leak in my front driver side tire. Rather than stop off and fill it with air for a dollar, I stopped by Discount Tire to see if they could help. I'd had my tires done the previous year. I was bracing myself for a $200 hit to my wallet. Keith got my car in to be seen right away. I had driven over a nail, as it turns out. I have always loved discount tire when I was in Texas, and this one didn't disappoint. I made an appointment online to avoid waiting as a walk in, was early but was greeted and helped right away! My car was done 15 min after my actual appointment time. I went in for a tire inspection because my tire pressure light came on. When they were done they told me everything was fixable and ready to go! Didn't cost a penny! I was SO happy! Why exactly? I had my oil change at Subaru in Renton and they told me I needed 4 new tires because one tire had a nail that wasn't fixable. And something about grinding one tire down for about $400 or 4 new tires for $600.. I didn't mention it to the guys at discount because I wanted an honest second opinion, and before they started on my car the guy that greeted me and checked my tire pressure showed me the tire life cycle chart thing inside and mine are barely almost half way through their life time. I had a really rotten day because at 4:15 am I set out intending to go to the gym. Instead I start the car and it tells me my rear left tire is low. I filled it up to the right level at Chevron but by the end of the day it was down to 26 psi! Kneeling before my car's expensive feet, I could hear the sinister sound of air leaking from the tire. Erk. I Yelped for tire repair and this is the closest location to work. It was 4:30 pm and their online appointment scheduler suggested that the next available slots were for the following day. Great. How do you get from Burien to West Seattle by bus? I walked in and they not only had only one rotation ahead of me but they gave me their internet price (expensive total, but run flats suck and other stores are more, trust me I looked) and very friendly service. I walked around Fred Meyer for about half an hour and when I walked they were just calling for me! So relieved to have this done. Sure, it sucked my tax return dry, but I look forward to the next scintillating 30k miles! read more

The only reason why it's 4 stars is because I had an appointment and was told it was going to be another 45 minutes of wait time beyond my appointment time due to the customer load. However, once they had my vehicle in, they took care of her (and me) and had us in and out in a reasonable amount of time. This is my to go spot whenever I need anything done regarding tires. Currently sitting in the lobby while they install a new set of tires on my hybrid. Patrick was straightforward and up front. Recommended a good tire for what I was looking for in a tire regarding performance, tire noise and number of mileage. Had to order them and they arrived next day.
