I purchased a set of performance tires about a year ago from Discount Tire in Joliet. I noticed a "bubble" on the sidewall of my tire. I called them up last Friday (4th of July weekend) and Nick made me an appointment for 11am. I arrived and was greeted right away. The customer service was top notch. After some paperwork and a small fee to add the warranty to the replacement tire I took a seat. Expecting to wait I brought my iPad to keep me occupied. I ended up chatting with my sister and before our conversation was finished my name was being called. I was surprised how quick they serviced my car. I was actually looking forward into sitting around to relax a little and that didn't happen at all. That's okay with me though because it was a holiday weekend and I really didn't want to be hanging at a tire shop or hours. Excellent service, very pleased!! read more

What happen to you?Two years ago I would have given 5 stars. Now no way. First strike was when I went to have a tire that was losing pressure fixed. You checked it and told me nothing was wrong with it. When I drove home (10 minutes) it was flat. You did correct the problem by giving me a new cheaper tire for free. That was ok. Now i make an appointment because I have a nail in that tire and it loses about 2 lb of pressure every day. So I made an appointment for 2:15 and i show up 10 minutes early. I'm told to go to the back and someone will be back there to take my info. 25 minutes later someone shows up to tell me it will be another hour and 15 minutes. Why make an appointment if you cant stay on a schedule or even close to it. Its like going to the doctor. So I went home and fixed it myself in 10 minutes. I understand things are different now with covid but you really need to get your act together.I know you fix flats and rotate tires for free most of the time. But time is money and its just not worth it. read more

Made an appointment online for 9:45 am Monday morning to have two tires replaced, pre paid for them as well. Took the morning off work, got there at 930 to be told they didn't have my tires in stock and didn't know when they would have them. Young man working counter insisted I was in the wrong for making an appointment, prepaying for the tires, then expecting the tires to actually be there when I showed up. No apologies, insisting I should've called to make sure the tires were actually there. After a brief argument, I asked that I be refunded. The next day, no refund, called them and they said it would take 21 days for me to get my money back, when it took 21 seconds to take the money out of my account originally. I wish I read these reviews prior to choosing Discount Tire to replace 4 tires. I ordered tires online, pre-paid, scheduled an appointment. I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appointment as instructed when I placed the order. Upon arrival, I'm told they are delayed over 2 hours. In addition, they did not have the tires I ordered. No phone call? Antwon tells me he would upgrade my tires when in fact the tires he offered were a downgrade with no price reduction. I felt duped by their bait and switch tactics. Their website makes it seem they are doing business with masks and cleanliness, but Antwon was getting very close to me without wearing a mask. After requesting the Manager (Bill), my order was cancelled. Now how long is it going to take for my money to actually be refunded? Lesson learned: don't do business with Discount Tire. We get all our tires here. Today was our 5,000 mile free tire rotation. While I came in during a bit of a rush time, I was next in line and the Manager apologized for my wait and acknowledged me every 7 min or so. Other customers treated equally with respect and patience as they explained next steps. My wait was estimated to be an hour and really only 40 min. Good place where I trust my best car interests are what they strive to achieve. As I observed other customers, it appeared they too were satisfied. Oh and the thank you and shake of the hands at the end of the transaction is just what's needed these days and it's great to see a service business know that and exemplify it so well. read more

Don't get confused by appointment times...they appear to use them only as placeholders. Arrived at 2:20 for 2:30 appointment. They started working on the car at 3:00. When I questioned whether I really had a 2:30 appointment, person behind the desk was less than helpful and seemed to be angry by my question. Still sitting here. I begrudgingly went to Discount Tires because I knew I was desperately in need of tires. A friend described one of my front tires as a bowling ball. Chicago winter weather was getting bad and I knew I just had to bite the bullet and spend the money. I made an appointment for a Saturday morning. When I got there I was helped right away. The associate went to check my tires and came back telling me he had good news for me - that I only needed to replace the two front tires and that the two rear tires were perfectly fine. He also mentioned they would rotate them for me. He made sure they had two matching tires in stock and the price was much less than I was planning on. I couldn't believe it! Here I was planning on spending more than twice what I needed to. He totally could have easily sold me four tires because that is what I thought I needed. But he didn't. After telling me I only needed two tires he could have tried to up sell more expensive ones to me but instead matched the remaining tires. I was amazed at honesty. Not only that but I was in and out of there in 45 mins with the two new tires. They have immediately built trust with me and I will probably never go to another tire shop again! I initially got my tires at America's Tire in California one year ago and because I got a flat after moving to Illinois, I have to use this company to fix it. This location is terrible. When I first came in at my appt time, no one told me where I needed to park. When I finally figured it out, it took almost 45 minutes AFTER my appt time before my car was finally pulled into the garage. Then THREE different people asked me if my tires had the bolt locks (each time I said yes and where to find the key)...when they finally finished hours later (just patching it)...I drove away and my tire pressure alert comes back on. I call them and they tell me, "keep driving, it will eventually go away." Well, it never did and when I came back from vacation 2 weeks later, the tire was completely flat. I live in Chicago, so with traffic, this makes it at least a 1.5 hr drive to this location....now I am without a car until AAA can come to get the spare on and then I have to drive BACK to this place to get it fixed again. This will make me spend a total of 6 (yes, SIX) hours of just driving back and forth to get my tire fixed. And when I called them a second time, asking them if I will finally just get a new tire, they said, "maybe, we might just patch it again." Great. Then maybe I can drive a total of 9 hours back and forth to this store when the patch fails again. After I made my 2nd appt, I needed to change it but they refused and told me I would have to just walk in, which could take HOURS of waiting. This location is a dump with severely rude employees and managers. I recommend any other location. read more

Customer service needs some tweaking. I had four tires installed. Took it out on the expressway the next day on a Michigan trip and found my steering wheel was vibrating terribly. Turned around, went home and switched cars. The next day I went back and told them about the problem. They said the tires were balanced wrong because the wrong "cone" was used went they balanced them earlier. Now, all they do is tires. They are "specialists" on installing tires. This mistake should not have been made and I should not have been inconvenienced and had to make a return trip. Yet no apology or restitution was offered. I was treated as if I was spending $1,000 on tires and at the end, they told me "No Charge" for the repair. Who could ask for more. Never again. I got a flat tire and we were driving on the spare. I called on Monday and scheduled an appointment for Friday at 12. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early. We did so. When we got there we were told there was no appointment. I went in and they see the notes but no appointment. Most disrespectful manger I have ever had to deal with. So I call and set up an appointment for 5:30pm and I'm told to be there 15 minutes early. (All we talked about was what time I should arrive. That is all.) I arrive 15 minutes early and they tell me to pull my car around back and wait for someone to attend to me. I then proceeded to select the cheapest tires they have and THIS DISRESPECTFUL MAN is going to say to me "you don't drive much huh?" ... does this mean discount tires cheap tires are not road safe?? That if you don't buy top dollar tire it will blow out on you on the road? Or does it just mean some manger will disrespect you for your purchases. I just hope these tires last enough to where I won't have to return to this location ever agin. Stopped in here the other night to have pressure checked in my tires. the employee didn't want to be bothered so he brought out the pressure check tool instead of the air pump checked all four tires told me I they were all fine. So Saturday December 9, 2017 my wife went to this shop to have a rim and 2 tires replaced. They did replace the rim and the tires, unfortunately they put one tire on backwards and somehow didn't replace the sensor in the other tire. Somehow I'm thinking that if you work here you should know which way a tire goes on, and to replace all the parts. I honestly don't understand. Now because this was a gift from her mother and we live further out my wife has to go to another Discount tire to waste time and have this fixed. When you make an appointment for a routine tire rotation, show up on time, and they don't start working on your car for over 45 minutes, that's a scheduling problem. The service people at this Discount Tire location are amazing.... beyond amazing! They just made my Christmas so much more promising! After Alejandro checked the air pressure in my tires and advised me that the same one that was low a week ago was still losing air pressure, I asked if they could check the tire to see what was causing the problem. It was Saturday and only a half hour before closing and they already had 6 cars ahead of me. I felt bad and knew they could easily and understandably tell me to come back. The manager, Larry made the decision to check and fix the tire if possible since I would be traveling the next evening to Detroit for Christmas and they would be closed Sunday. I am ever so grateful. All of the service people were equally great.... Alejandro originally checked the pressure and notified me of the leaking tire. Larry checked me in and assured me of a good experience, keeping me updated along the way. Joe and Jesse took care of the tire which was leaking due to a rusty wheel rim. As I waited, I noticed again how they truly cared about their customers and took care of them. Larry even phoned one to advise him he had a bad tie rod that would need fixing in addition to fixing his flat tire. You can count on consistently exceptional customer service from everyone at La Grange Discount Tire!! Thank you Larry, Alejandro, Joe and Jesse for yesterday's great service! The customer service here is awful. We went in to have two vehicles tires rotated under their free rotation offer after spending over $1400 for two sets of tires we bought a year ago. We made the appointment as required. True they were busy, but is that not what an appointment is for? We arrived 20 minutes before our time. We waited and waited and waited. After an hour of being there, I asked when were we going to be waited on. Others were walking in and being waited on. Others were walking in and being serviced immediately. Their response was you have free rotation what are you complaining about. They finally waited on us after yelling sarcastic remarks about the impatient customers. POOR service. For the last month every time I needed gas my right front tire needed air. I have a leased car and I didn't want to spend a dime on it but my turn-in date isn't till October so I bit the bullet and pulled into Discount Tire expecting I would need a new rim or a tire from hitting one of many pot holes. I hate going into any type of auto shop, I don't speak auto language but I was pleasantly surprised. The service rep was super nice and efficient, the place is clean and offers several daily newspapers and up to date magazines in the waiting area. I was out the door in 15 minutes, a screw was removed from the tire, repaired and I was handed a bill for .00 cents. That's right, no charge, free... things like this never happen to me. Soooo yeah, it sucks to have a flat tire--stuck for hours waiting on a tow truck -- only to find out later that you have more of an issue than just the tire--yeah, that sucks---but what made the difference is the service that I received from Kevin Butkovich, Sr. Assistant Mgr------from the moment that I spoke to him my load got lighter***he took the time to take me outside and physically show me what the issue was, I asked question after question in 11 degree weather and he never waivered--in fact--I commented on the weather and he continued on bended knee explaining the issue-then he went further and found an auto shop near Discount Tires--once I was at the mechanic shop, he communicated with them my issue and made sure that I was being "takened care of"....yep, it all sucked but Kevin made the difference!!!!!! I brought my car in to fix my flat tire and have a tire rotation. No appointment necessary, so I did have to wait a little over an hour, but when they did finally put my car up, it was like 10 mins. Took my car with tires from a different Discount Tire to four shops before driving all the way out to this store (hour drive). All of my tires (less than 4 years old) are cracking in the treads and have hairline cracks on the sidewalls. At each of the local shops a guy looked at my tires and said I definitely need new ones, and three of them had no reason to lie because they don't sell tires. The guy I spoke with at Discount Tire said it was "normal dry rot" and they wouldn't do anything about the tires, except MAYBE prorate but that still ended up at over $400. You can bet, had I walked in there and said, "hey could you look at my tires", they would have told me I needed new ones. But since I made the mistake of saying I bought them at Discount Tire they said the 4 year warranty wouldn't cover the "normal cracking." Such a load of BS, I will never give my business to this place. read more
