EXCEPTIONAL customer service. I blew a tire out on the freeway in the pouring rain and was stranded on the side of the road for over 2 hours since AAA decided not to send proper assistance. After sitting there for two hours, a nice police officer pulled over and called a tow truck who drove me to discount tire. During that time I called this place three times to confirm that they had a tire for me since I was visiting from out of town and had a business event that evening and needed to leave tomorrow morning for a flight. These folks not only made sure that they had the right tire for me, but they were extremely attentive and friendly, and I can not praise them enough.

I ordered a set of new tires online on a Thursday afternoon and the estimated ship date was the following Monday. I scheduled the tire installation for a few days after that. I received a call the day after I ordered the tires that the shop already received the tires. I confirmed that my appointment would still work for them the following week and they said yes. On the day of my appointment, I arrived at 12:15pm and parked in a parking space since I assumed they would pull my car into one of the bays when they were ready. I walked into the shop and was immediately greeted by 2 of the assistant managers. They got me checked in, took my keys and walked outside to do a quick inspection of my vehicle with me. They estimated that the tire installation would take about an hour to an hour and 10 minutes. They did ask if I wanted new windshield wipers and I figured I might as well add it since it's been a while since I replaced them. I opted to wait at the store while my tires were being installed. I decided to just bring my laptop to get some work done. I sat by the window so I could see the progress on the tire installation. They also texted a link to a status tracker which was nice. Before they began servicing my car, the tracker had an estimated time of 12:47 but then got updated to 12:38 when it was in the bay I was out of there by 12:40 pm. Not gonna lie, I was a bit worried about coming here after seeing some bad reviews. But I'm very satisfied with the service, cost and time. I will gladly come back to Discount Tire again the next time I need new tires.

Inside. Waiting in line, socially distant.

First time here and I won't be returning. Went for an oil change, and they tried to upsell me on a…read morefuel system service, and an Annual Engine Performance Service totaling more than $400 (sounds really official, but neither service is anything Mercedes recommends for maintenance so I declined). Then they told me I needed new tires since some of mine were unsafe and I shouldn't try to drive on them, and one pot hole could turn into "a really bad day". That seemed odd, the tires only had 17k miles on them, and last I had the brakes done 3k miles ago, they were measured and in very good shape. Got offered a promotion that expires today, but I still declined. So I went home and measured all tires, and the measurements of all four was much better than they stated. See photo comparison below - right rear tire quoted at 3/32. A tire gauge, used exactly and exclusively for this purpose shows between 5 and 6/32 putting it in the green. My standard for who I will give business to is would I recommend my mother, aunt or a friend go there and trust their recommendations and findings - and I absolutely would not.

This location has changed a lot so the front desk/checkin/reservation/"vehicle inspection and here…read moreare 10 more things you should spend money on" experience makes me feel generous giving 3 stars. Received 3 text confirmations of appt but when I showed up front desk had cancelled it; shop now runs a full system check (I just wanted an alignment) and recommended many additional items and tried to upsell me; when car was finally ready a day later I never got a confirmation call. The whole experience was a major turn off. Will sadly not be going back.

I enjoy going here. I live in Chapel Hill and make the extra drive to come here because I know they…read morehelp in every way they can. I've come here for oil changes and for tire repairs and they have been expedient in getting those services done. Everyone is friendly and gives no problems in helping with any questions I may have.

Came in with an issue with my AC not working intermittently, paid over $400 for a diagnostic and…read morenew blower motor. By the time I drove my car home the AC wasn't working again. Brought it back in, they said the actual issue was a compressor wire rubbing against something. They had the gall to attempt to charge me for another "diagnostic fee" to find the same issue they should've found when I brought it in for the week prior. When I argued over why I was being charged another diagnostic fee, the manager said "it's a different issue than what you brought it in for last time, last time you said it wasn't blowing air at all." That is absolutely not what I said. I said the AC was not blowing cool air consistently, but it was still blowing air. When I informed the manager of this he got noticeably flustered and immediately took the diagnostic fee off of my check, which made me suspicious. So I did some research and spoke with my mechanic buddy, I discovered that my car had NONE of the symptoms of a bad blower motor when I brought it in to this Firestone. Yet their $80 "diagnostic" found that, that was main problem. Which, obviously was NOT the issue with my car. So I reluctantly paid for the $120 labor cost to move and repair a compressor wire. Again, before I could even get home my air conditioning was not working. So I brought it in for a third and final time and told them I am not paying for any more work and they need to fix the issue that I've had for the past 3 trips to this Firestone. The issue ended up being another wire that was hanging by a thread and it took them 3 times to find it. It would've cost around $120 total to fix the actual problem with my car, but I ended up paying over $600 for their mistakes, laziness, and parts I DIDNT NEED. Make sure you know your car better than these guys or they'll end up taking advantage of your lack of knowledge squeezing $600 out of your $100 problem.
