DO NOT USE THIS DISCOUNT TIRE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD HAVE . I've been a customer of this location for years and never had a bad experience with any car I brought here - including high end sports cars. We brought my sons BMW in to have new tires and new wheels put on. During installation they wheel studs off in the hubs. They informed my son that he could take the car to a shop that they recommended to have the broken studs removed. CORRECT - they had my son drive a vehicle without all rev wheel studs in place, jeopardizing both his safety and risking further damage to the vehicle. After 3 days of calling the "Manager" at Discount Tire for status, I finally called the other shop and he stated that the car was ready and that he had notified DT "a few days ago". We then drive the 30 minutes to pick up the car and bring it back to DT. Once again, they damaged hubs and wheel studs on the car, this time they brought it to the other shop and dropped it off. Once again, after a prolonged period of time I had to call the other shop and go pick the car up from them. We have now had to replace all four wheel hubs, half of the wheel studs, an alignment AND they damaged the newly finished wheels which were still in the box when they got them $900 repair alone. I'm not saying it's like this all the time but due to the situation I was in he wanted and he provided the best level of service for me . I had just went for a simple oil change up the street and my tire blew as they where lowering it. So I was sort of annoyed already. Within 2 hours the store called me, they had them and I'm here today getting them out on and with my prescheduled appointment I'll be in and out in less than 45 min! Staff was great. They open at 8am, got here at 745 with 2 cars already here before me. When they opened the doors right at 8am, they were sure to ask who arrived first and were very respectful. *Update* - I returned to this store location on March 30, 2018 (the day after the original infraction) and spoke with the Senior Assistant Manager, Zac Benson. I showed him the old tire in question and he very quickly determined from the evidence shown that the tire tech had in fact caused this damage when attempting to repair the tire. Zac apologized and refunded me the amount of the new tire purchase. I honestly did not expect this action and really only went back in to the store to show that I knew that I had been "snookered" and did not appreciate it. Zac Benson is an example of a true manager and I am very pleased with his actions and how he handled this unfortunate situation. Man do I ever hate having to write this but unfortunately, this store took advantage of my lack of knowledge to cover their rear ends. I brought my 2016 Ford Focus ST in for a simple screw in the tire repair on March 29, 2018. At one point during the repair, they indicated to me that they would not be able to repair the tire because the last place I purchased tires from had "mounted the tire improperly, causing a 'kinked bead' and rendering it unusable". These tires had been mounted by a very credible and established tire shop when I purchased new rims. After inspecting the tire myself, there was absolutely NO evidence of a "kinked bead" and only evidence that the kid who was supposed to be performing my tire repair had torn the bead when attempting to repair the tire. This store stood together and unanimously insisted this was caused by errors committed separate and apart from their young and inexperienced tire tech and refused to do the right thing and replace my tire at their cost. Ok, fine, I bought a new tire. They win. Very crooked and disappointing that they choose to do business in this way. I made sure to take the "damaged" tire with me and show to my mechanics (I'm an Operations Manager for a Private Jet Management company) and they verified my position and validated my fears. This place became the family go-to for tires mainly by default, since it is very close to our neighborhood. I have had my car serviced here as well as two other vehicles at my household. Firstly, they really can't be beat on their prices; any tire you find they'll match the lowest price. We've gone to tirerack.com to find tires and had them ordered at Discount Tire. One of the managers, David, has been more than helpful every time I, or my family, comes in for new tires. I just recently got a flat in one of my rear wheels that could not be patched but due to the low mileage of the tires, David worked with me to get both rears replaced for the price of one new tire. He's also ensured me that when the front tires need replacing, he'll work out the same deal as well**. Pretty darn cool!! ** Of course, as a woman, mechanics at a tire shop try to pull the wool over your eyes. The first time I went in with my flat, I was being charged full price from an older gentleman who was unwilling to work with me. My family referred me to David and everything was right as rain : ) As with an service industry, make sure you do your research before committing to a place!! read more

When it comes to tires I only go to Discount Tire. Everyone here is very professional and focused on great customer service. Sometimes you have to wait but it happens and you have to be prepared for it. On most of my visits to this location I was in and out much sooner than expected. I took my husband's truck in as the back tire kept losing air. On my first visit, the tech told me that sometimes happens with a new vehicle and he would add air and I should watch it. After 4 days and the tire losing 10 pounds, I took the truck back in. They supposedly could find no leak but changed the valve stem out. Another week and 10 pound loss, my husband takes the truck in. Our experience with other vehicles consistently showed that they blew off my concerns/issues, but found a true solution when my husband visited. Sure enough, they found a hole in the tire causing the leak. Do they just like to see women stranded with tire problems??? ...and now, July 5, 2016, we begin another saga of "your back tire loses more than 10 pounds of air pressure for no reason and we will just keep adding air until you bring it in several times and then we will look for the real problem". read more

Had my wife drop off her 2016 Toyota Highlander with 23k miles for a simple tire rotation on 8-15-2018 , when I showed up to pick her up and to my dismay, this older service rep had convinced my wife that her tires need to be replace. When I approach them while he was still at her vehicle, he was taken back and said it's a good idea to change those tires, I proceeded to tell him these tires are OEM tires with less then 23k miles, it had plenty of wear on them, please rotate them and I will research for a set of tires on the next rotation on their website. This older service rep refused to rotate the tires, at which time I said fine, guess I'll take our car somewhere else for the rotation. He then raise his voice towards my wife and said "Why are you letting him leave those unsafe tires on your car?" Now, That's unprofessional and personal. We went to another local chain tire shop and had the tires rotated free of charge, and was reassured the tires on the car have at least 10,000 miles before it needed to be replace. Been coming to this Discount tires location for the past 10 years, never had anything but good experiences in the past, will not return to this location until this older gentlemen retires or replaced. It's not right to prey on women that are less knowledgeable on tires, and to intimidate them. read more

This was a great experience here and even though they were busy and it was towards the end of the day, our service technician took care of us. They had our new tires installed in one hour. We'd had several recommend Discount Tires for price. The other locations in Katy are too busy, so we tried this one in Cinco Ranch (and drove further), but were very pleased. Discount Tire has earned my business for life. I brought a flat tire in on a busy Saturday that I had recently bought at Westside Chevrolet. Westside told me that it could not be fixed and I would need to buy a new one. Robert at DT had the team check the tire and it turned out could be patched. They patched it, replaced my spare and did not even charge me. They even offered to warranty my tires that I bought at Westside for a nominal charge. Kudos! read more

Went to take my moms suv to see if they could fix her tire (there was a sort of giant bolt stuck in it). They told me they could not fix it, and pushed for me to buy more tires. I declined and asked if they could just put on the spare tire for now while I figured what to do, and they agreed (this happened at around noon). I was told they would call me once it was done, so I had to leave the car and leave. Hours passed and it was getting close to 5 (when they close) and I still had not gotten a call yet. I got concerned so I called to see what the issue was only to be greeted with the fact that they decided to not even change tires- this happened at 4:45ish, FIFTEEN MINUTES before they were going to close. I had to go get the car with the giant bolt still stuck to it and no solution, as all other tire places were fixing to close as well. What would've happened if I hadn't called? How unprofessional to not even have the courtesy to call their customers to update them on the decisions they take! I don't know if this is some sort of scheme to try to get people to buy their tires but who is going to want to do so if they get treated as bad. Sad sad sad. read more

I would suggest that you not waste your time making an appointment. You do not get any special treatment with an appointment. My experience is that you get worse treatment with an appointment. If you go to Discount Tire, expect terribly unfriendly service and will wait for a long time to get any work done. Most of the people that work there seem to hate their job. I had an appointment, left my car for over 1.5 hrs and they still had not gotten to my car. It appeared that they realized that I had left so they put everyone in front of me. When I came back, they had not even looked at me car. I am extremely disappointed with this company. I called the corporate office to complain and was told someone would get back to me, They did not want to hear about my experience. They wanted me to wait to speak to the person that would be calling me back. You guessed it, as of yet, no call back. It seems to me that the corporate office would at least want to know what I was complaining about. I went here to get a tire with a slow leak repaired. This was my first visit to this shop and my tires were not purchased from Discount Tires. Yet, the tire was repaired at no charge to me. The place is clean and the staff is pleasant and helpful. I don't know how their tire prices compare with other such facilities but I highly recommend them for their service. read more

We had a nail in our tire and brought it by for a simple repair. They refused to help us saying the tire was too old and we needed new tires. Giving us no other choice but to order a new set, we did. They never called us back. AGAIN we called them and ordered a set of tires over the phone. Again they never called us back. We ended up with a flat tire and a schedule disaster thanks to these people. If their prices truly are "discounted" you'll pay the extra in lost time from work. Bought tires here in 2010 and got it for a great price. Their staff are friendly and courteous. They have a comfortable waiting area and free coffee too. I requested for a quote, to replace my car rims. disappointed with the offer as other discount tires a few miles away from us charge less. they added some service charge that other shops doesn't do for the same service. Maybe because its in the middle of a high class subdivision? About the free tire rotation. they don't do the recommended tire rotation (rearward cross, X- Pattern, or forward cross). They will just put your front wheels to the back and vice-versa. Found out that this will cause your tires to wear faster. When your tires shows some wear, then they will use this chance to sell you 2 sets of tires. They don't put your best tire in front because of safety issues, or they want your tires to wear faster? (tires wear faster at front, specially for front wheel drives) After realizing this, I decided to rotate my tires myself. Conclusion. yes, you can buy tires here. Don't make it your primary choice though as they may tend to charge higher being in a class A subdivision. It will be up to you to avail the free tire rotation. Update: Adding a star as I once again bought tires from this store 2014. I am amazed with the rebates offered and the warranty provided. As my goodyear tires worn out prematurely (warranty is 80K, i replaced it at 45K), they gave me a good discount. Granted that I paid for that warranty ($70 for all 4 tires), but the discount i got was much more than i paid for. read more

This is the second time I have been to discount tire for a repair in the center of the tread due to a screw. Both times I was told it was unsafe to repair and I needed a new tire. They did not even look at the tire for more than 5 seconds. I took the tire to Firestone where they plugged it and I am driving on it just fine. My discount tire is very close to my home but no more I will drive the extra miles to a different seller. I can not believe how much discount tire has changed in 2 years, they used to be very helpful. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Discount Tire for years, but this was the first time at this location. Fortunately, they can access all my customer records. I needed to borrow a tool in order to get my daughter's spare tire loose from her vehicle. They had the tool, and Chris Tinsley agreed to loan it to me to get the vehicle rolling. Try going to some local mechanic and borrowing a screwdriver. Won't happen. These guys always go the extra mile for their customers, and Chris Tinsley is exemplary in making good decisions to assist customers in extraordinary ways. I was told Discount Tire "can't" rotate my tires because my best tires were already on the rear of the vehicle. I was offered two tires at a good price and I agreed. I was then told the tires were not available until the next day. So, despite agreeing to purchase two new tires on the spot, they still would not rotate my existing tires. I offered to sign a waiver or do whatever was required. No joy. Because I had a to be on the road at 5am the next morning, I had to go home and rotate the tires myself. read more

Excellent service, would use again. Earlier in the week, I shopped tires for my Grand Cherokee and liked the original tires. Most shops did not have the OEM brand available (GoodYear Fortera's); however Discount Tire website said "5 in stock". Made a reservation via website for 845am on a Saturday for 4 tires. Got there and not surprisingly they were packed and a steady stream of customers coming in. One guy played the game well, he arrived with Shipley's coffee and donuts (he didn't share)....Damnit I should have done that too. LOL. Was in and out in 45 minutes. Nobody tried to upsell insurance/warranties on the tires (I would have refused anyways). Basically handed over the keys when I arrived and my CC about 40 minutes later; all done. I've been a customer at this location for 7 years, buying tires for 2 expensive cars. This is the second time they've not warranted a set of tires they recommend.
