Ate at this dumpling spot in Mosaic. I didn't even realize it was there until my friend mentioned it as a place to eat lunch. You order at the register and they bring out the dumplings to you as they are cooked. Each of the dumplings we ordered were delicious. But I think the soup dumpling was the best!

My friend has only been to Mosaic 1 other time before this visit, and I felt it was extremely necessary to have her try District Dumplings. Their decor is cute and cozy with just a few tables to enjoy your dumplings, they offer a variety of steamed or fried dumplings with a some specialty flavored ones! We decided to get the 10 pcs dumplings with -pork and chinese celery (had to get the classic, ofcourse) -beef and curry dumpling -bulgogi beef dumpling We forgot to say we wanted them steamed so ended up receiving them pan fried. No worries though because they were still 100% delicious. The bulgogi and the curry dumplings came out with different colored dots on them (to differentiate). The beef curry was my personal favorite but the bulgogi was my friend's favorite. It worked out in the end because we each got to have 1 extra of our favorite (5 dumplings each). We spent about $15 for the 10 dumplings, which in my opinion is not too bad a deal. Plus the staff is friendly; I cant wait to go back ! Writing this review right now, is making my mouth water..........

These dumplings really hit the soul! I tried the lemongrass chicken, edamame and Peking duck dumplings. You can't go wrong with any of them but these three are my favorites! This restaurant has a real family restaurant vibe tucked into all the chains in mosaic. I love how clean it is and you can see the kitchen where they have all of the fresh ingredients. Highly recommend to anyone who's looking for quality dumplings.

Light filling & light dough = delish dumplings. Also got the wonton noodle soup and pork buns - enjoyed both. Not fancy, counter service - perfect after day of strawberry picking - quick, yummy hearty food.

This place is the size of a small deli rather than a restaurant. I would probably call ahead if you have a big party since there isn't too much seating. That being said the food was good and the service was decent. I ordered soup dumplings and shu mai. Both were good and I would come again.

BLUF: Clean, bright location. Light on the ambiance. Service was polite, patient, helpful. A little pricey for what you get, but if you're not starving, it will hit the spot for a light snack. Fairly quick in & out As far as dumplings go, not bad. They seemed to be made in-house & not purchased frozen which is a good thing. Yet, the flavor combinations can be hit or miss. We didn't feel there was great consistency. You may choose between fried or steamed dumplings. The steamed dumpings appeared quite a bit larger but not as tasty as the fried ones that really shrunk after being fried. When compared to most places in NoVA where I've had dumplings, these tasted pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way for these, but if in the area & a taste for dumplings, I'd go. Did they leave a mouthwatering memory? No, but they satisfied my hunger.

We got the soup dumplings, beef dumplings, chicken and lemongrass dumplings, and the wonton soup. The soup dumplings were very good, with a good amount of soup in them. The beef and chicken dumplings were nice. I especially liked the flavor of the lemongrass dumplings. But, my favorite dish ... shockingly ... was the wonton soup. It was so good! The wontons were delicate and the shrimp inside was perfectly cooked (not rubbery). The broth was light (not goopy- which I really don't like). I'll definitely go back for the soup dumplings and the wonton soup

Pork & shrimp dumplings and Hong Kong shumai
    Vincent M.

I've had my eye on District Dumplings for some time and got to stop in today. Since it was just me eating lunch, I went with the standard order of pork & shrimp dumplings (10pc) and the Hong Kong shumai (8pc). My wife grabbed a drink and didn't realize for just that the total was just over $32 (admittedly that's on me for not giving the prices a better review.) The dumplings came out after a little bit and looked pretty good. I tried the shumai first. They're pretty dense and well filled. I felt like they were fairly middle-of-the-road shumai. I couldn't quite make out the shrimp in them. I think they benefitted from the included sweet soy because they had a basic flavor, not bad, but not complex. The pork and shrimp dumplings were just ok. I took a bit to see the filling and again, couldn't really see the shrimp in there. I would have easily taken them for pork & chive dumplings. The dumplings skins were tender, though the very edges on a few seemed kind of dried out/more firm. I used a little black vinegar, again, giving a little more complexity of flavor. Overall their food was fine, but personally I think the price point and quality don't totally align with each other. I could see them being less expensive or upping the quality of their items.

I tried the soup dumplings, which arrived promptly but didn't leave a lasting impression. The service was efficient but didn't stand out. The restaurant interior is neat and minimalist. It's a convenient spot for a quick grab-and-go choice, especially when shopping at Mosaic. While there are other varieties of dumplings available here, considering the abundance of nearby options, I'm not sure if I'll return.

    Pork bun, and Soup Dumplings

The dumplings here were so yummy. I really liked the pork buns. The soup dumplings had pork and ginger inside and I would definitely recommend them. It was a small restaurant with plenty of space. The staff was very helpful with deciding what to order as well!

This is located in Mosaic District. There will be very limited storefront side parking but multiple parking garages (free) to choose from which will require you to walk a bit. There is a wide variety of dumplings and Shumai. There aren't other entrees so do not expect other Asian dishes. The pricing is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. You can choose 3 flavors for a 10piece dumpling for $13. I personally do not like this because 3 flavors for 10 pieces is a little off to me. I also do not like that it's not separated or labels so we know which one we are eating (especially if we are sharing). The good overall was good, but not great. I've had much better dumplings are other dumpling spots! Steamed Pork Buns were nice and fluffy but not that much pork. Their drinks are delicious. The mango soy milk and their lime/ginger/celery/(forgetting one of the ingredients) was VERY good. Highly recommend to try one of these or both. Service - you order at the counter and they will bring it out to your table. You leave your dishes and they will pick out up.

Soooo good! I get all the hype behind them and will absolutely be back. Amazing flavours and perfectly made

Soup dumplings and an order of pan fried dumplings.
    Christina W.

Wanted a quick snack after a few hours of shopping so came here right before they closed. It was pretty empty so it was quick to order. Got the soup dumplings which were good and then got a variety of pan fried dumplings. (3 flavors per order). 2 out of the 3 were good, I don't recall what the one we ordered that I didn't like but the chicken lemon grass and beef bulgogi were delicious! I love that they have chili oil on every table. One thing I think they can elevate is the presentation. Otherwise, a very casual place, perfect for a quick and delicious lunch, dinner or snack.

Lo mein was a fairly straightforward soy-garlic affair, though I must say I appreciated the option to add some tofu to that as well. Had never heard of this place, but a…read moreFacebook friend raved about the drunken noodles here, and I noticed the spot wasn't too far from me (within short walking distance of the Dunn Loring Metro stop in Merrifield near Vienna), so I decided to walk over and check it out. Went over a few Saturdays ago a little before 2 PM. Semi-small spot, but it wasn't busy, so plenty of seats were available and I was basically able to sit anywhere. (I'll point out that while they do serve beer and wine here, there is no bar area or TVs in the restaurant.) This is one of those spots where you have to access the menu through your phone--no paper menus (unless maybe you ask). Not too much of a problem for me because I knew what I'd come for: the drunken noodles. Not much for vegetables mixed in with my meat, so I ordered the beef drunken noodles with no veggies (except for basil, which I left in) and scrambled egg. Ordered at spice level 4 (extra spicy); spice levels range from 0 (not spicy) to 5 (Thai spicy). I love spicy food, but I was warned by the waiter not to choose spice level 5 (LOL), so I went with 4 just to be safe. Don't know if it was because they weren't too busy, but the noodles came out blazingly fast--in less than 5 minutes! And the noodles were excellent too--honestly, up there with some of the best noodles I've ever had! At a spice level of 4, you could feel the spice, but it wasn't bad at all. I think spicy food lovers would be perfectly fine at 4 or even 5. The noodles were also well-portioned and fantastic. The base price for the noodles was around $14. While most protein add-ons are no extra charge, the beef option was an extra $2, and adding scrambled egg was another $2. With taxes, the price for my noodles came out to around $20, which wasn't bad at all considering my add-ons. Customer service was good--the waiter was nice, prompt, and informative about the menu (which honestly isn't the easiest to navigate online). Great experience overall, and I was in and out of the restaurant in less than 25 minutes. Enjoyed my meal so much that I came back a couple days later for their Monday-Friday lunch special, where you get a free appetizer (chicken soup, tofu soup, or crispy veggie dumplings at the spice level of your choice) with any entree. Ordered the beef drunken noodles and chicken soup, both at spice level 5. Both came out quickly and were excellent. Also tried the recommended Thai iced tea for the first time, which was also very good. No complaints about Kiin Imm Thai--I see why they're so highly rated here, and I'll definitely be returning as a regular. Only regret is living within walking distance of this spot for over 3 years and not being aware of it. In addition to this location in the Vienna area (close to the Dunn Loring Metro), I believe they also have a sister location of the same name in Rockville, Maryland. Highly recommend!
