Surprisingly quiet for Fri HHR - which we prefer! HHR menu with discounted rolls (not sashimi), some Asian apps and drinks, 4:30-6:30. We ordered basically everything on the HHR menu - all delish - everyone happy. Service & presentation was wonderful. Parking is around the corner in garages - free for 4hrs.

I wanted some Hibachi and decided that I would let Yelp be my guide. This place came up as a suggestion. I've had my fair share of hibachi but this place left me with many questions then answers. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi lunch and a sushi roll. The hibachi lunch was served with miso soup. The soup was nice and hot. The steak and shrimp although was flavorful was a small portion. If you wanted fried rice you had to pay $2 extra. I ordered the honey Boston roll. The roll had shrimp, cucumber, avacado and asparagus with honey wasabi sauce. I didn't taste much of the honey wasabi sauce. Usually I have a ton of food left over when I eat from a hibachi restaurant. Today was definitely not the case.

We went here during happy hour on a Tuesday or Wednesday. It wasn't busy at all. Our server was attentive and ensured our order was correct and we had everything we needed! The food was good! Definitely recommend for a sushi happy hour. We got miso soup, house salad, spring rolls and a few sushi rolls. The spring rolls were so hot, fresh and crisp. The rolls were yummy and filling. We will come here again for a good happy hour!

This is my go to place for reliable take out sushi, especially for lunch. I almost always get their lunch three roll special or their spicy roll special. Their sushi is t mind blowing but it is a good value and hits the spot when you have a sushi craving. I was originally irked by an experience I had there but decided to give it another go and glad I did. There is one female hostess who is very unfriendly but the male hosts have all been friendly and polite. I've been coming here for many years, and remember trying their Asian dishes outside of sushi and it was always hit or miss. Will likely just stick to sushi.

Just had an amazing lunch at Passion Fin Sushi Bistro! The sushi was fresh and delicious. Great service too! Highly recommend

Roti Canai - best thing I ate. They can make this without the chicken.

This is a great place if you are craving some sushi and Hibachi. It's located in Merrifield area, but in the not crowded area. The service was great. The ambitious is nice. And we had a great time. There are tons of veggie options available. But I tried the following: - Roti Canai (without chicken): order this without thinking. Yes, it's that good. I was licking the curry off the bowl. They can make this vegetarian as well. - Vegetable Roll: this was delicious. We ordered two of these rolls. - Drunken Noodles: this was mediocre. Wasn't a fan of this. It was bland. And too sweet. Drunken noodles should have a bit of a kick. Overall, amazing place to dine. There is something for everyone. Go ahead and try it out.

It was a bit unsettling to see them with 0 guests when we arrived at 7pm for dinner. I wondered if they were closed or not having any dining service. Turns out, there simply was no one there but open. 1. Reservation: unnecessary as can be read from previous sentence 2. Service: 3 stars, 2 different servers coming and one was rude and the other very pleasant 3. Food: certain rolls were much better than others. Midori roll was my favorite Rest were simply okay 4. Hot tea and drinks available All in all, a decent place. I would still come here

This is a great place to eat some Asian food. Food - Great, the orange chicken was delicious, it comes with rice and miso soup or salad. I liked the miso soup. The gyoza is good, but the cocktail was not that special. Service - Good Parking - There is a parking lot nearby Overall, this place is great.

Picked a great day to visit this location. The interior is quite spacious but chose to sit outside. Generous outdoor seating also. Note, if you are north of 5'9 under table leg room is dicey. Ordered tea with honey, the fact they had honey was a plus. Sushi!! As you can see from the pictures. The sushi was amazing. Knocked it out of the park with my selection. Yes I did play it safe with the Philly roll, but I usually do as a sushi safety net, just in case. Service was great, my waitress always ensured I had a full cup of tea. If nothing else try the White fish hand roll and Lobster Fantasy roll, I added real crab, it was so good.

Restaurant was open and spacious. Service was quick and considerate as we were waiting on the rest of our party to come. This roll was really good, and my party enjoyed their food as well. A great variety of foods, especially some big enough to share.

We had experienced Thai cuisine across multiple states and countries, we always approach new Thai…read morerestaurants with excitement and hope. Thai Mom caught our attention, and we walked in with high expectations based on the buzz we'd heard. Service & Atmosphere: I have to give credit where it's due - the service at Thai Mom is genuinely excellent. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, attentive, and friendly without being overbearing. They checked on us at just the right intervals, refilled our water promptly, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure we had a good experience. The hospitality alone made us want to love this place. The Appetizers - Where Thai Mom Shines: We started with their BBQ pork skewers, and honestly, these alone are worth mentioning. What sets Thai Mom's version apart is their unique preparation style - it's noticeably different from the standard BBQ pork skewers you'll find at most Thai restaurants. The meat had great char and flavor, and the accompanying sauce was tasty with a nice balance of sweet, savory, and tang. This dish gave us real hope for the rest of the meal. The fried calamari came next. Yes, the portion is on the smaller side, especially if you're sharing, but the quality makes up for the quantity. The batter is well-seasoned and achieves that perfect crispy texture without being greasy. The calamari itself was tender and fresh - clearly not frozen rubber rings. A solid execution of what could easily be a throwaway appetizer. We also tried the crispy pork slices. While the slices are quite thin (thinner than I prefer, honestly), the sauce they're served with is absolutely awesome. It's got depth, complexity, and that perfect balance that makes you want to lick the plate. The sauce honestly does the heavy lifting here, but sometimes that's all you need. The Entrees - Where Things Fell Apart: Unfortunately, this is where our experience took a disappointing turn, and I'm genuinely puzzled by the disconnect between the appetizers and mains. The boat noodles were our first red flag. If you've had authentic boat noodles - whether in Thailand, at hole-in-the-wall spots in Thai Town, or even at some of the better Thai restaurants stateside - you know there's a very specific flavor profile: deep, rich, slightly funky, with that characteristic broth that's been simmered for hours. Thai Mom's version was missing... something. We couldn't quite put our finger on what exactly, but the soul of the dish just wasn't there. The broth tasted flat and one-dimensional, lacking the complexity and depth that makes boat noodles so addictive. The Kapow fried rice was even more disappointing. Kapow (holy basil) is literally in the name of the dish, yet there were barely any leaves to be found. What we got tasted more like a standard Chinese-style fried rice heavy on soy sauce - not necessarily bad, but completely missing the point of what makes Kapow fried rice distinct. Where was the aromatic punch of holy basil? The slight heat? The wok hei? It felt like someone made fried rice and just labeled it "Kapow" without understanding what the dish is supposed to be. The real letdown, though, was the Ba Mee Moo Dang (egg noodles with red BBQ pork). Given how excellent their BBQ pork skewers were, we had high hopes for this dish. Instead, the red pork tasted boiled - like it had been poached or steamed rather than given that signature charcoal BBQ treatment that creates those crispy, caramelized edges and smoky depth. It was a completely different product from their appetizer pork, and not in a good way. For a dish where the pork is the star, this was a significant miss. The Verdict: Here's the pattern we noticed: every single appetizer we tried was good to excellent. Every single entree we tried ranged from mediocre to disappointing. That's not a coincidence - it suggests that either there's a different cook handling appetizers versus mains, or the kitchen's strengths lie in smaller, simpler preparations rather than complex entrees. As someone who reviews restaurants regularly and understands that every place has off nights, I wanted to give Thai Mom the benefit of the doubt. But the consistency of the appetizer quality versus the entree quality suggests this isn't just a fluke. Would I Return? Honestly? Probably not for a full meal. If I were meeting friends for drinks and apps, Thai Mom would be a perfectly fine choice - the service is lovely, the BBQ pork skewers are legit, and the atmosphere is pleasant. But for a proper Thai dinner where I'm craving those comforting, soul-satisfying entrees? I'd look elsewhere. Three stars feels fair - it's squarely "it's okay" territory. The excellent service and solid appetizers keep it from being two stars, but the disappointing entrees prevent it from reaching four. Thai Mom has potential and clearly has talent in the kitchen, but they need to bring that same care and authenticity to their main dishes.

Kiin Imm Thai has lots of pluses. First, the interior is cute and cozy with a neighborhood bistro vibe. Second, the service was excellent. We tried the Ka Prow Chicken ("basil stir fry") at level 2 spiciness and Pad See-Ew beef at level 2 spiciness. Both were delicious with a side order of brown rice. However, if we could go back in time, I think we would have ordered a Level 1 mildly spicy version of Pad See-Ew instead. Overall, the highlight of the meal was dessert (Mango and Sticky Rice), which we both devoured and is . highly recommended if you're dining in. Finally, Metro garage parking was free on weekends!

Sounds delicious? That's because it is. The tastes of soft pastries were good, good good, good good. I enjoyed my Curry Puff without the vinegar sauce myself. However, if there were an option, I would dip it into a blue cheese sauce or ranch dressing sauce. This might be looked at as sacrilege to die hard culinary enthusiasts, yet as they say, "varieties of spice of life." Veggie Spring Rolls $7.65: These three little pigs are not made if Pork incase you are confused. The are stuffed with Glass Noodles, Cabbage, Carrot, Celery, Taro and served with a Sweet & Sour Pineapple Sauce. This tasty appetizer was good, but I felt a pork option would greatly impact my taste buds. Guess I am a carnivore at heart at times. Kanom Jeeb Dumpling $8.75: Five Pieces of Minced Shrimp , Chicken, Cilantro, Corn, Garlic, Scallion wrapped in a thin Wonton Skin and steamed or deep fried to perfection?! It is also served with a Honey Soy Sauce. However, I can not remember having this on the second day. Nevermind, I went back to Kiin Imm Thai Restaurant to try this dish. Unfortunately, did not find it very good. This dish had some taste; however, this item is in the big leagues, just trying to get up that hill. It failed in my opinion. Crispy Duck Rolls: $9.95 I had forgotten what Duck tasted like. Yet , prepared in the right hands, The Crispy Duck Rolls are sensational with flavor. Donald Duck, Daffy Duck and Darkwing Duck and Daisy Duck and even Scrooge McDuck would not be amused at the thought of eating duck...on second thought, most of them would most likely join in eating poultry. Some would be appalled, disgusted, repulsed, revolted, sickened, appalled, and nauseated...yes, Its so not nice I said it twice. I find this dish to be shocking, thrilling, spectacular, stunning, magnificent fantastic dramatic, superb and FABULOUS! The seasoning of the Crispy Duck Rolls is prodigious. The Duck sauce (if that's what it was) in one word to describe it..Kafkaesque. Personally, I thought about not getting my next order of it without sauce. I quickly abolished this idea, because the Duck Rolls need the small amount of sauce that goes on it. The Crispy Duck Roll melts in your mouth so to speak. It is the best appetizers I had on the second day of coming to this restaurant. I will be ordering The Crispy Duck Rolls again. Probably this coming Monday April 27th 2026. I look forward to trying out a few more items on the menu, or at the very least, some repeats items. 4/27/26 Okay, for the second time upon entering this business, I noticed the short haired lady who sits at service table is giving me the stink eye. I have come to think of her as Jabifa since I don't remember her name. If Jabifa's problem with me is the changing of a few items on the food menu, requesting no sauce on the food or not have the food spicy, then she is in the wrong business of food service. Speaking of food, I noticed the Nom Nom Pork Strips were different this time around. They did not look like the ones I had the last two times. They looked like the The Grilled Pork Skewers, but without the Skewers with less flavor than the last two times I had them. Ohh things have changed, but hopefully this is a fluke. We will see what happens within the next two times I revisit this business. Until that time, the overall experience for this place is a four star level. If Jabifa's stink eye continues, we might be at a 3 star for ambience and service. Nevertheless, the food itself is at a five star level.

But the place was pretty empty, and I think I can understand why. The food here in my opinion is below average. I ordered a medium spice level Drunken Noodles with Chicken but I swear this was Extra Spicy--this is coming from a person that has a pretty high spice tolerance. Not only that, but it had a very tangy flavor to it as well. I've never had drunken noodles be this tangy. It did not taste right at all. This is one of my go to Thai dishes that I have ordered at many many restaurants. My husband got the Kob Kun Fried Rice. His dish was okay, but sort of strange. They kind of just plopped some crab on top (see pic) and didn't actually mix it into the fried rice. The crab they put on top was kind of cold, while the rest of the dish was hot. I thought that was odd. Even then it was better than my dish. So my husband, who has an higher spice tolerance than me, offered to swap dishes with me but even he could not handle it. It was spicy in a truly unenjoyable way. This sucks because I ordered a medium and they did not take that into account at all when making it. I had to do what I very rarely do--I asked if I could kindly send the dish back and I explained my issue. They were nice enough to let me order something different. I got the green curry with chicken. Sad thing is I got this mild in an effort to not have the spice issue again. However this time, my curry was completely sweet. I do actually like some spice in my thai food so this whole experience really sucked. I feel like I've made better thai curry at home, I will not be going back.
