Passed by here every time I'm in Newport. Finally stopped in. Right away you are greeted by friendliest people. The menu is on the wall. You order at the register. Then you go different spot like a cafeteria. First you get your beverage then move down in my case it was two coney dogs. The slide down for your fresh to order waffle fries. The very clean dining area is a throw back to the 1950-60s diner. Now the food. The coney dogs were excellent. They are little smaller than your standard hot dog. The hot water dog is dropped in a soft steamed bun. The chili is Cincinnati style it's on the sweet side but very good. The onions were freshly cut and had regular mustard. The waffle fries were perfectly fried no oily taste at all. I lightly salted them no use for ketchup. I ordered a Coke. I like this place so much I went back the next day. To let you know just as good the next day. Can't wait to get back there next year.

It always hits and it's always good. Everyone is so friendly and kind, especially for working so late. I can't imagine being responsible for drunk people shenanigans, but they handle it like champs. The food is classic chili parlor and so good. Our favorite is the Chili Man Dip with no beans or onions. Thank You for creating a safe space to eat on the way home. You all are the best!!

I was not expecting a "lunch room" style type of restaurant. We came during chili week and I was not aware there were a lot of other options besides chili. I got a coney and 3 way and they both were great! I was suprised how much I liked them both. I normally am a Skyline girl but this has to be a close second for me. I want to come back and try some of their other items on the menu.

    My $9 fries....

ABSOLUTELY INSANE. I ordered Greek fries for $9, got 5 pieces of feta and ranch on the side. Ordered 3 chili dogs, only cheese NO chili. Ordered a separate hot dog plain, NO HOT DOG AND HAS CHILI AND CHEESE. What the actual F.

Fantastic service. Great location with their own parking lot. Food was good. You order at the register up front and then it's like a school lunch line where you have your tray and the ladies put your drinks and food on your tray before you pick your table to sit. I tried the chili on a coney 6 ways which comes with cheese, beans, onions, and chopped garlic. The garlic is a really nice addition.

We ended up here after some issues at camp Washington. The service was super fast and friendly. The chili dogs were just as good. The fries were fries. The interior is updated retro and super cute.

Okay.. first time chili experience here!! And let me say I had no real expectations because I've heard mixed reviews (not about Dixie, just in general), but I have been wanting to try it since I moved to the area a few years ago. Consensus on the 3-way: tasty and would eat again! :) I enjoyed the flavor of the chili - a little sweet, and you can't go wrong with a pile of shredded cheddar cheese. The noodles were OK, I can understand why it might be a weird pairing with chili, but it just reminded me of pasta sauce! The oyster crackers added nothing for me. We also got a side of fries which were pretty good. Service was fine, interior was classic diner, and overall it was a good experience!

Another chili place was closed since it was Memorial Day, so we decided to come here. It's a bit different than other chili places I've been to, because you order, they give you a tray and you wait for your food (instead of them bringing the food to you). It only took a few minutes and I loved how you could customize your chili! I got jalapeños and chopped garlic on mine. As for the taste, it was good! Not the best chili I've ever had, but it was tasty and I would go back if I have the opportunity when in town.

We have a Airbnb up in Northern Kentucky and have ate all the Cincinnati chilies, this one is the best! Big menu cool atmosphere and a rich history. Go try it you won't be disappointed.

Not your average chili place. My go-to is the Alligator which comes with dill spear, wiener, mustard, mayo, cheese on a coney bun, chili, and onions. Also, the double-corned beef sandwich is a culinary work of art. With soup salads, a dessert menu, and a kid's menu. It has something for everyone! You can even order their canned chili online...

Visited Cincinnati and had to try the chili. Decided in Dixie chili since it was one of the chains recommended and the only one open when I had time to peruse. It's definitely a fast food joint. I got a kids meal because I wasn't sure how much I would like it. Unfortunately though, the kids meal only comes 3way (spaghetti, chili & cheese). But it was pretty yummy, and very affordable.

    Sad plate of fried

Firstly no complaints about the food. It's always consistent and I think the best in the area. Disappointed in the service and value. I know stuff is expensive but the small plate of fries I got was pretty sad and didn't seem worth almost $4. I've noticed the serving size has gotten smaller recently but this was a bit egregious. Someone in our group ordered a 4 way with lettuce instead of pasta. The staff seemed a bit confused at the request but got it right. However, we were charged extra for the lettuce. I feel like if it would be reasonable if they added the lettuce to the 5 way but it was basically subbed in and we were still charged extra. It's a small amount but it felt like a we were nickel and dimed. I don't see how lettuce would be a higher cost than pasta. Lastly, while the service has never been super warm, the staff on duty this visit seemed like they would have rather been anywhere else. It seemed like we were bothering them when we went back up and asked for condiments. While I'll surely go back when I'm in the mood for a coney, I will reconsider going as frequently.

    Regular sized salad.

It was a hidden treat in downtown Cincy. Loved the chili, crackers, and the decor. The counter service was friendly and quick.

One of those complete game-changer decisions I'm so thankful for. This was a blast from the early 80s, late 70s!!!! No joke, it immediately smelled like cigarettes when I came in. It was like literally walking through a time warp. Yellow/tan decor with all stainless steel diner facilities and everything. But, let me stress how impressed I was with the cleanliness. When I first came in, the cook came out with an industrial size container of fish fry mix and asked me to help him open it. That thing about ripped my skin off! It took 3tries AND he had to hold the container while I twisted the lid. ...but the point is I was quickly taken back to a time where people weren't afraid to speak to complete strangers. I ordered an egg salad sandwich and 2containers of broccoli/cheese soup to go to go on top of my grilled chicken sandwich:) I WILL be returning to Pepper POD whenever I come back to northern Kentucky (Cincinnati) area. Thank y'all!

It took about a minute. I entered the restaurant, and there were only 4 people in there with TWO waitresses. I ordered a cheeseburger platter, burger fully loaded. Normally, this would mean lettuce, onion and tomato. I got my food home and found my fully loaded burger had one small piece of lettuce and a LOT of mayonnaise. That was it. The accompanying cole slaw had been cut so small it was as if it was riced, and swimming in mayonnaise. It was inedible. I paid 13 dollars for this, and I wound up giving my burger to my dog. This restaurant is going downhill fast and I'm tired of throwing good money away, as this is more than the 10th time I've gotten bad food there. Done. Won't be going back.
