Tuesday August 12th, 2014. Arrived at 11:00am . 4 tables with customers when we arrived. It took almost an hour to get our food. Unfortunately gravy was luke warm at best. Ate it anyway. Heard waitress ask cook about another tables food order that was also taking along time , he was rude to her and proceeded to yell at her when the order was ready. We had to get up and ask for coffee refill when the waitress was standing in the back area. I think she was avoiding the customers because we were getting annoyed with the wait. My wife and I stumbled upon this place by accident and are sure glad we did. Great hole in the wall family owned business. Wait times to be seated were minimal, service was friendly and aimed to please. The food was nothing short of amazing. I got the German sausage and potato cakes and my wife got the hangover bowl. I've tried to update this review for the last 9 months, thank you Yelp for finally listening to me;) The last few times that I've gone into Dixie's I've had nothing but friendly customer service. It's a great feeling to go to a local restaurant and have the owners, Dave and his wife remember your name and greet you with a smile. I would and do recommend this restaurant to tons of people. Just remember, with any restaurants, when it's busy you have to make exceptions to your customer service standards and learn how to ask your waitress for exactly what you need. Huge portions....make huge people, but if you are HUNGRY, this is THE place to go! We shared a breakfast skillet platter and had leftovers to take home....Yummy home atmosphere, the place could have used a good scrubbing and they should offer a smaller portion sized meal and I would have hit it up to a 5 star place! Enter through the back door parking lot and you can get seated just as easily as the front, it is a bit confusing but hey, we were just "passing thru"! We initially tried out Dixie's because we purchased a Groupon. We went for breakfast on a Saturday. I think we both got a combination with eggs and potatoes. We got the type of potatoes that were deep fried rather than hash browns. Personally, I like hash browns better. I also got a biscuit with my breakfast. The breakfasts here are huge and quite tasty. We had ample leftovers for the next day. Also, the service is very prompt and friendly. I am not a huge fan of eating breakfast out, since I can make most of the menu items myself. However, on a lazy weekend morning, Dixie's is a nice option in Sumner. read more

Outstanding! We each got a burger - fully expecting a breakfast/diner burger dripping with grease. What we got was a bistro quality and extremely well crafted burger with perfectly cooked fries. We will absolutely be back - probably too often. read more

First impression: good food, mediocre service, subpar atmosphere. They were slammed since it was Sunday morning amd Father's day, which any popular restaurant that's been around should expect. It appeared there was one cook and one prep cook for the entire restaurant. For as rushed as the hostess and another staffer made me feel when seated - to the point it was awkward - it took FOREVER to get our food. After about 17 rounds of coffee, my husband wanted to leave. When the food finally arrived, it was good but because of the service, I'll probably opt to go to the Sunbreak Café in Auburn in the future. Decided to stop in and check it out after a tip from a friend. It was a Sunday breakfast, and it's standing room only!! The food...is delicious, large portions but not so large that food gets wasted, pretty sure the hash browns are home made. Unfortunately this review has nothing to do with the food I have always enjoyed their food. It has to do with a experience involving the owner. I was eating lunch and received a FaceTime from my daughter I was literally a minute into the conversation when she explained she wanted me to mute my conversation it was too loud. I would understand if it was a long drawn out conversation with obscenity and rude topics. I might of also understood if this was a restaurant packed and quiet dining. Neither of that was true there was two other people besides the employees. The experience left me not wanting come back and unless your some old local it makes me feel like I'm not welcome. Been a customer here for years! Wife kids, and me all a fan of Dads potatoes and pancakes. My personal judge of a mom and pops eatery always comes down to either the biscuits and gravy or chicken fried steak. Dixie's doesn't dissapoint when it comes to either of these. Portions are great, staff is on the ball and friendly guess my only complaint is that more and more people know about this so it's not so easy on the weekend to just stroll in without a bit of a wait. My hubby loves this place. The Eggs Benedict, to be exact. I like dad's potatoes, which I always have with an omelet. I can never finish my breakfast, there is so much food. The only reason for the minus one star is that when we were in a couple of weeks ago there were three kids that kept coming by our table TOO often to check on us for coffee, water, etc. Good service is hard to come by, but this was a bit excessive. Dixies has always been great for breakfast - pancakes are tasty and everything else is prepared well. Their motto is that you never go home hungry and you definitely don't - some of the portion sizes are a little rediculous actually. But my wife and I will often times share something, and maybe get a side of something else and it works out great. Only thing I don't care for there is the sausage gravy - heavily seasoned with something that I don't like. But everything else I've had there has been supurb. Waitstaff is friendly and the service, which not always spectacular, is generally pretty quick, especially compared to other places in Sumner for breakfast. Definitely check it out! read more

First time here a lot bigger inside then I imagined. Friendly staff so far got us waters and took our order right when we were ready. I really like that they greet every person who walks Into the restaurant. Even if the waiter is taking a tables order he will say hey to the ppl that just sat down and let them know he will be right with them. I liked the atmosphere the workers seemed like they liked to work here not stressed and irritable like berryland. My hobo hash was really good but as u can see in the pic way too much cheese. I just scraped it off. Our friend had biscuits and gravy was really good and the dads potatoes are tasty! I would definitely come back here again but ask for easy on the cheese. read more

Cute place. The service was great and the people were really kind! I came in by myself during my lunch break and the guy who was my waiter was really genuine and helpful. As I watched the customers in the restaurant, some seemed to be regulars, some new, but everything looked great and smelled delicious. If you love eating breakfast this place is great!
