I've given this location two chances in the past week, and both times left disappointed. I came in for a simple manicure, only to be told they "didn't have time" and asked me to return at 6pm--even though the salon was far from busy. When I asked about making an appointment for 6pm to avoid this problem, I was told they don't take appointments and only accept walk-ins. Translation: walk in, get turned away, and try again later like it's some kind of nail salon lottery. You're expected to keep coming back at their convenience, with no guarantee you'll actually be helped. The lack of organization and courtesy is frustrating, especially when there are plenty of other nail salons that respect their customers' time. If you enjoy wasting your afternoon and testing your patience, this is the place for you. If you prefer actual customer service, maybe go somewhere that actually wants customers.

I found DJ Nails on Yelp. I made an appointment for Gel-X with Katie. Katie is amazing. She is talented, honest, and knowledgeable about nails which I appreciate. This is my second appointment with Katie. She is super friendly, and her vibe is really welcoming. She must be the manager because she knew everyone (from clients and staff) and she answered the phone while doing my nails. She never got distracted and got me in & out within 1 hour. She is a multitasker with a great memory. You get 5% off if you pay in cash so that's what I did. I'll be back again, Katie. Thank you!

Ive been coming here for the past 4 years or even more and recommend this place to everyone. Katie is the best and always does my nails perfectly I love her first off the environment and customer service are the best and I always feel super welcome the music choice is also a plus I love it here! Another thing my nails always last me so long when I come here like a month and more definitely will continue to keep coming here.

I walked into this nail salon and immediately felt unwelcome. As soon as I walked in, the woman who appeared to be the manager was on the phone. I said hello, and she completely ignored me and even rolled her eyes without acknowledging me or greeting me back. When she got off the phone, she told me there would be a long wait, but she said it with a rude attitude. I politely asked how long the wait would be, and she said about an hour. I told her that was fine and started to sit down. Before I could even sit, she came up to me in a very rude tone and repeated that there was a long wait and that they had appointments ahead of me. She also told me she didn't want me asking why it was taking so long since she already told me other customers were ahead of me. I reassured her that it was okay. She continued repeating herself in a rude manner, which made me uncomfortable. I finally asked if she wanted me to wait or leave because I was confused. She responded by saying it was up to me and that she was only telling me so I wouldn't complain later. The entire interaction felt very unprofessional and unwelcoming. I understand businesses get busy, but there is no reason to treat customers this way. Customer service and basic courtesy go a long way, and unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing.

A friend who was visiting from out of town needed her nails done and went here, she spoke so highly of it that I had to try it for myself. So I made an appointment and saw the same person she did. I had an appointment with Kiera and she did an amazing job! I was impressed with her skills for creating designs and getting my almond shape just right without cutting my finger with the nail file like some people do. She was on time and took her time with my nails even though walk-ins were starting to fill the front of the salon as it was the weekend before Valentine's Day. I'd highly recommend her, she won't disappoint.

$110 dollars later. They gave me a 5% discount for using cash so it ended up being $105. Do I think she did a great job? YES!!! Was it worth the money, NO. They charge $5 for each design. In this economy this pricing is ridiculous. Besides the pricing, the workers were super nice and they have parking in the back. I was okay with the price because she had already put the nails on before telling me the price and I really wanted the design ! These are also Gel X!

Very rude manicurist, who audibly made fun of me. I made the manager/ receptionist aware but she said they were just talking with each other- the pedicurist and manicurist, however, were not talking. I paid and tipped 20 percent on a bad manicure and a rude technician. So rude, she didn't even come up to get her tip - I had to Venmo it in a separate payment to the woman who did my pedicure. Will not come back here, as there are much better places in the neighborhood who are nice and provide better nail service and have a cleaner environment!

Gel X Coffin Shape short-semi med length

I walked in on a Thursday afternoon and they immediately took me in. I wanted a basic set of Gel X with a coffin shape and like short-ish length. Without tip included yet it was $55 total. A little pricey but she did a good job and it was really quick. I have small nails so I was concerned the nail sizes were not going to fit but it turned out great. Quick and easy mani and would recommend this spot if you're looking for something in the area thats simple/convenient. They also cleaned up my cuticles well and was gentle with the entire process. The lady I had was really friendly and she let me change the color after I didnt like my first pick I chose.

I've come back after my last review and I want to say it's been a such a better experience I will continue to come back!

I'm a little disappointed with my last visit. I specifically called and talked to the front lady for a regular French tip manicure because I will need to chop my nails short for a climbing trip next wknd. They said ok come in. I came in and was assigned to Tiffany. I told her I wanted regular French tips, not gel. She said ok. She proceeded to work on my nails. At the end, they gave me the total which I was baffled about because it was as high, if not more, as when I get gel nails done. Then I asked how much my nails were and they told me it was whatever amount they gave because it was gel. I told them I specifically wanted regular. And the front lady said I was supposed to stop Tiffany when she put my nails under the UV light. I'm a very relaxed person, but this added insult to injury. She also made my finger bleed from removing my cuticles which I didn't complain about. And now it's my fault for not stopping her? Whoever answered the phone (front lady) should've communicated to Tiffany that I wanted regular French tip. There was a language barrier and they all know that, so how am I supposed to do their job? Due to their mistake, they charged me for a regular manicure instead but charged me $5 extra for the removal of my gel nails. So does that mean when I come in next, I'll be charged another $5 for the actual gel removal because they messed up previously? I've been a regular customer at this place. I'm very polite, always speak with the ladies, etc. But the way the front lady made me feel, as if it was my fault, and then adding that $5 fee for not really removing my gel nails *completely, has turned me off to the max. Ladies, always question your line items. I am so appalled by the level of service I received this time and will not be returning. read more

I've been driving an hour to get my nails done for the last 5 years and I'm so delighted to find a place close to home, affordable and friendly with great artists. If you want an art intense set be sure to book on a weekday as they are super busy on weekends. I asked for Katie and am delighted with the work. I have natural nails with acrylic over and it has been a nightmare finding places that don't want to just cut my natural nails and put tips on (why? when my nails grow so well?) and I can't wait to go back. read more

Wow great work! I'll start off by saying I'm not one to get her nails done, but I have a gala coming up for my firm and I wanted nails to compliment my gown and preferably matte gray. My at home, self done nails wouldn't cut it so I did a yelp search and called DJ Nails to schedule an appt. I told them it was my first time doing this and Emily and Katie made my first experience great. From walking me through the process and explaining what I could expect afterwards. The result was awesome. Again, I'm not a regular "nail doer" but I do pay attention to detail and the work was flawless. This place is just ok.. I came in for a pedicure and a hard gel set. Since my nails are really damaged from acrylic I wanted them to grow and strengthen back. I called to make an appt with Katie and she mentioned hard gel extension. I arrived and they did my pedicure first, then started my nails. They told me I couldn't get hard gel based on the nails I had.. ok? So she convinced me to do dip with a acrylic tip. I was on the fence and really didn't want that. But seemed like I had no option, after she did the dip it was thick and the shape looked completely unnatural. After 1 week Almost 5 nails are gone and completely dry skin and grown out? How does that last longer? So bummed because a week later I have to go somewhere else and have my nails fixed. Really not great at all, wasted $42 for this read more

I visited this location and was very appalled at the service I felt very discriminated against. Ashley did my nails I showed her a design for 4 fingers 2 on each hand. Katy then. Same over and they spoke to each other in their language then turn around and tell me that the design will be an extra $45. Another person got 10 fingers design and it was $15 extra dollars I believe Katy expects clients to buy her another Rolex with her outrageous price practices she seems to overcharge her African American customer only BEWARE WHEN COMING HERE they won't offer u drinks only the other customers will be asked very rude here read more

this nail salon is my go too. this lady earlier today left an untrue and rude review. she said that she received discrimination but it was absolutely not true. i was with the lady she accused of doing this while she claimed this happened. she said she was discriminated against for a walk in when in fact she got mad that they were very busy and they couldn't take her walk in request. but when someone walked in with a app or a eaiser and much shorter request they were able to seat her(waiting). i was very shocked by the way the she claimed her experience was. but the staff was nothing but nice and excellent nails. i have come here for my hoco nails 2x, vacation and now winter formal nails. please don't slander DJ nails just because you expected a walk in appointment when people were already waiting for they're turn. 10/10 reccomend. i reccomend katie, super sweet and nice - Ava read more

I've had Tiffany, Mindy, and Chiara for gel-x manicures (both very specific art requests) and a pedicure, and each time my nails looked incredible and identical to the reference photo. Helen gave me the best full set I've had since I've moved to LA! I can't believe how detailed she was. I absolutely love her work. She took her time and even continued to finish my nails even though it was after 7pm and they were closing. Sophia gave me a pedicure and did a fabulous job. I have psoriasis and most nail salons can't give me the kind of pedicure I need. Sophia was awesome and met all my needs! I have been so upset in the past at other salons paying twice as much and not being pleased. Thank you so much Sophia and Helen. So I would like to update on my review since I got a message from the owner .. & I cannot reply to the comment .. I Spent $120 on nails and toes and yes I did get the gel on both my nails & feet But now for being 3 days already one of the nails is coming off that I had to glue myself ! Never did it get explained to me each finger was a price for a design & the pedicure I got was 45 that yes I read but for being a fill & 3 days nail should not be coming off .. I bought glue myself to keep it ON .. So my update on the place good customer service but yes over priced . read more

Made the mistake of coming here instead of my usual shot because on Instagram they had some nice photos but unfortunately the women here are disgustingly Rude. The lady turned on the water for my pedicure and it was freezing cold halfway through. I asked her if she could warm it up. She turns it all the way to the hot end of the water and it's steaming piping hot to the point where the other girl touched it, and burned herself and she got mad when I told her that it was now too hot. She was always talking in her language. They were talking about my make up, my outfit saying that I got it from forever 21 and they were just saying horrible things and being extremely rude and rough. No tip for them I will never come here again and I suggest other women do the same. read more

I went to this nail salon bright and early with a large party of 8 for my sisters wedding. I think I got the hook up from Tracy who did my gel mani and spa pedicure. I absolutely love how they came out! I would definitely return to this salon. Everything was clean and the environment was friendly and peaceful. Great all around! read more

Finally a nail salon who can do actual designs instead of a basic simple daisy. Ashley, shaped my nails perfectly and was patient because I also wanted these little jewels which were hard to put on. She asked me over and over if things looked ok and I appreciated that a lot. I've been to many nail salons and it's all been terrible. I don't get my nails the shape I want, or design, or color. I got a mani pedi yesterday. Manicure was decent. Pedi... not so much. The lady dug too deep with her tools and caused my big toe to bleed. This was my second time there. The first time was great. I should have gotten my pedicure for free because of what happened. My toe still hurts. My first visit was an hour. Last night was nearly 2 1/2 hours. Ladies that arrived after me left before me. DJ Nails is my new favorite nail spot! After my old salon closed down during quarantine I started looking for a new salon to start frequenting. There are so many nail salons out there but I am so glad I found this place through Instagram. Don't let their small store front fool you, this business is always busy! I am a regular customer of Emily's and she never fails to blow away my expectations! Whether it's something simple and elegant, or a super intricate design, I always leave happy. I learned about them through a friend and decided to finally drop by with my mom. We were greeted immediately and within 5 minutes we were ready to go. Service was what you would expect from most salons. My manicure was only $7. My initial review was positive but unfortunately I have to update. The polish is already wearing off after less than a week. I likely won't return, even though customer service was excellent I wasn't happy with the results. read more

Absolutely in love with DJ Nails!! Have been struggling for a while to find an affordable good nail salon near by and this salon is the best!! Ashley did my nails twice so far and did and amazing job. She's very precise with her work, gentle and fast working. Also love the cuticle oil this salon uses it smells amazing! My sets both lasted me 3.5 weeks each before needing a fill and my nails never chipped or lifted. I find any reviews below 5 stars hard to believe as this place has been nothing but great to me. Going back for a new full set soon and I couldn't be more excited! read more

The person who did my daughter's nails did a nice job on her nails but she wasn't very personable. My person was a little more friendly and did a lovely job as well. My daughter really liked the vibe of the place in the photos and is one of the reasons we picked it. It's got a very cool look but in terms of comfort I prefer the massage chairs at other places. It's in Old Town Pasadena so parking can be tricky.

Chrome is already an extra $20 service, yet they still charged me full price despite not being able to provide the color I originally chose. The whole experience left me feeling really frustrated and disappointed.

I paid $50 for a "pamper me" pedicure which included massage, scrub, and callus removal. $30 for a classic manicure. Their massage chairs are strong, love them! They've been very accommodating even when I call last minute and will do their best to squeeze me in if possible (eg: called for mani/pedi, they said they only had a slot for one service, but when I showed up they were able to provide both services). I've been to a lot of salons of varying price points and this one is my favorite in the area.

My partner and I booked Olivia and Evelyn because of their excellent reviews on Vagaro. But upon arrival, my partner was directed to Olivia and I was seated with Sylvia without any acknowledgement of the change. 2. More importantly, I've been working hard to grow out my nails and wanted to make sure I kept a good amount of length. But on her initial pass with the drill, Sylvia took so much length off of my thumbnail that it had to be filed below my fingertip. I asked for a round shape but because she took so much length off, I ended up with rounded squares. I'm really upset about the length. I will say my partner's nails look great, and if I decide to return (which is a big "if") I'll be sure to book with Olivia (and hopefully get who I booked with).

They have lots of color choices. I don't frequent nail salons much due to the smell, but this one was not too bad. It still had a nail polish smell, but it wasn't so overwhelming. Thank you for responding and for providing further clarification. However, I feel I need to address a few points based on my experience. Regarding the nail shape, I don't recall the manicurist asking for my approval before cutting my nails significantly shorter. While I did mention the shape change, I was not informed that the length would be uneven or excessively short. This lack of communication was disappointing and left my nails in a state I was very unhappy with. As for the pedicure, I understand that you're not medical professionals for ingrown toenails. However, I asked multiple times for the ingrown nails to be removed, and while an attempt was made, the process was painful and resulted in my feet being too sensitive to wear shoes for three days. I believe this could have been handled more carefully, as it caused unnecessary discomfort. Overall, the service I received fell far below expectations, both in communication and execution. I hope you take this feedback seriously to ensure better communication and care for future customers. read more

I got my first set of acrylic nails here. Jennifer and Dan are so sweet and genuinely friendly. I wanted it to look very natural- they did not. Very square and no guidance regarding shape.
