I made an appointment two days before my requested date for builder gel and a pedicure. My original appointment time was 1:45. They texted me the day before to push it to 1:30. The day OF less than an hour before my new appt time and pushed it an hour. Ok fine whatever Lisa is (I'm assuming) the owner and the receptionist interrupted three times to ask what they should tell customers throughout my appointment. She immediately told me we couldn't do builder gel because my nails were too short. Okay, I'll keep being flexible. I had chosen a design and showed.explained it to Lisa. She expressed that one of the colors I chose might be too sheer for the intended purpose, which was correct. I asked her to help me find an alternative that was lighter than the example picture. She brought me a few colors that were continuously darker. I decided to go with a solid color instead of the design I came in wanting. One of the other employees made a comment in Vietnamese that I was being difficult with my color selections. I did not engage. This did put me off vibewise though that they were busy enough to push peoples appointments, but that I couldn't ask for what I wanted to pay for. I then canceled my pedicure. Overall, the gel-x nails we did instead look nice and the price ($70) is pretty fair for the surrounding areas. I was just disappointed in the way I kept feeling put off as a paying customer. I fully recognize this is a first world problem, but it was frustrating nonetheless. read more

At Y2K Nails located on South Arroyo Parkway my friend and I got a detailed, careful nail trim, cuticle and callus pedicure with classic polish by nail technician Myna after a foot soak in a tub of warm water. Nail technicians Vicky & Jasmine removed our old polish, trimmed our finger nails, filed edges smooth, rubbed lotion on our hands/wrist ls. and finished with a basic polish color of our choice. The salon's interior is a clean white & pink with background music playing giving it a young, pop modern vibe . While waiting for the the polish to dry you can set the massage chair to work. The massage chairs are comfortable and have many settings for the user to select based on height, back area to massage, massage type action. At our 11 AM appointment time on a Tuesday, the small parking lot had only two spaces open and none when we left at 1 PM. The salon accepts payment by credit card or Venmo. read more

My second visit I got a gel overlay and a pedicure. It was the best pedicure that I have ever had!! Mai did my pedicure and she did not disappoint -- she was so thorough. I showed Vicky a picture of a lavender cloud type of design and she really delivered. I got gel with design on bare nails, so no removal needed. What I really appreciated was the nail prep. I had really dry nails and some skin peeling on the side of my nail beds. It was looking a bit rough but she carefully cut the rough parts out and really smoothed it out. read more

However, my concern was not simply about technician assignment, but about how the situation was handled once I arrived. Being 10 minutes late without any apology or acknowledgment set the tone for the visit. When I requested to have one technician for both services, my request was polite and based on consistency of work, not refusal of service. What was most uncomfortable for me was the irritated tone used in response, rather than the policy itself. Policies can be explained professionally; attitude cannot be excused by policy. Regarding the pedicure, my concern was not about age or language, but about safety and attentiveness, as the technician appeared to be repeatedly nodding off during the service. This understandably made me uncomfortable as a client. Lastly, while technicians are free to communicate after completing services, laughing and using phones in front of the only customer present did not feel professional or respectful. My review reflects my personal experience, not a misunderstanding. I visited Y2K Nails hoping for a nice gel mani before vacation. Nina was friendly, but the experience wasn't ideal. I chose the salon based on sample images that showed attention to detail and clean design work, but that wasn't the case for me. I asked for a short almond shape, but was told my nails were too short, so we went with round. The shaping ended up rough and uneven, with little effort to match both hands. The nail prep also wasn't great. My cuticles look very dry, there's polish on my skin, and the edges aren't clean. The polka dots aren't consistent -- they vary in size, spacing, and some are even missing. I know nail art can be challenging, but she was doing them so quickly and immediately after asking me to check, she was already talking under her breath, so I felt uncomfortable after asking her to fix a few. I've been going here for awhile now for pedicures. Great service and always very fast responsive when making appointments! Past few times Tifany and Mina helped me. Great work. Definitely coming back soon as well! They also have a summer happy hour sale going on too for weekday afternoons! Interior is great and clean. The parking lot is a bit small though. i called at around 2:40pm for a 3:30pm appt for mani (gel) and pedi (basic) for one person. we got to the shop 3:35pm bc it started raining, still our bad. my partner told me after that she felt like her services were rushed :/ it's a bit frustrating to hear bc i could indeed confirmed the services were rushed since i heard the tech saying it in Vietnamese, how she wants to close up and leave already, while she was doing my partner's pedicure. i didnt say anything obviously, as long as the service is done well (it wasnt the best) all we have to say is, next time just say "no, we're booked" we'd happily book the next day or something. we'd rather receive a service we deserve than a rushed one read more

I'm sad to write this review because I actually wanted to like them. I might give them another try in the future but today's experience was frustrating. I made an appointment to come in at 2. I arrived at the shop around 1:50 and was seated immediately. The lady starts on my nails and within a few minutes, another client comes in. This new client requested for a dip manicure. Another nail tech took this client and got started. After a few minutes, my nail lady said she has to swap with the other nail lady because the other one doesn't know how to do dip mani. Okay, sure! This new nail lady starts on my nails. Meanwhile, another client walks in, and they told her to come back at 2:30. ANOTHER client comes in and says she also has a 2pm appointment for a pedi and gel mani. They ask her to sit down at the spa chair. At this point, it is very obvious that they are overbooked. 3 nail techs with 5 clients. The second lady who was doing my gel removal was so rough and was in such a rush. She also grabbed my stuff and asked to move me to a massage chair because they need more time. I'm now sitting on this chair and watched them start and finish other clients after me even though I got there before them. I was at the salon from 1:50 til about 3:40? My whole experience should have only been an hour.. 1.5 hours max. My nails came out okay. I couldn't ask for any more modifications because I needed to leave. The nail tech also cut my skin and I was bleeding. Anyway, please don't over book or please hire more experienced nail techs. read more

She didn't judge me for my wonky looking DIY gel x nails that I walked in with and she also didn't judge me for wanting my extra short gel x nails cut down even shorter--lots of nail techs I've had in the past have been reluctant to do a super short nail, but I know what I want and Kristy delivered. She also paid careful attention to my cuticles because I mentioned that I needed some serious care there and just in general she was a perfectionist which is what you want in someone giving you a manicure. Now my hands look unrecognizably cute so I will definitely be back.
