For years, Doña Maria's Mexican Restaurant was a hidden gem tucked away in the TI area of Richardson. They had limited seating, therefore, there was always a line outside the door of eager patrons, patiently waiting for the most authentic Mexican food in the entire metroplex. The family owned restaurant has now relocated to west of 75, off Coit and Beltline. There's twice as much seating and the decor celebrates the family's cultural pride and humble beginnings. The food was dry and tasteless. No salsa, no guacamole, bean might have come from a can. Chips and dip (cheese supposedly but it was well hidden. Meal was way expensive for such a disappointing meal. Not even any wine or margaritas! Terrible experience. read more

This place on Saturday morning was more than filled to the brim. I came in just past 10 am and they were already out of flour tortillas for the day. I placed my order and then left the restaurant and realized I had the wrong order. I ate it anyways because it was so busy and went back a few days later. They again didn't have flour tortillas but I got a different item and really liked that. The food is good. Filling with great flavor. Definitely would come again. read more

Finally got to try this place out and it was really good! There barbacoa breakfast taco was delicious and so was there chicharron. My daughter had there chorizo and egg taco and she tore it up! There chiles weren't as hot as I would of liked them to be but overall they were tasty. read more

You can't beat the food here! I come for the chile relleno burritos, I love that they ask if you want beans with it. The cheese is creamy and melty and I never eat any of the burnt pepper skin. The flour tortillas taste home made. It is never greasy and reminds me of the burritos from Juarez, Mexico. The flour gorditas are just as good as well. The tortilla itself is soft and sturdy and remind me of the ones my grandma use to make. I've never had a meat I didn't like here. It gets really busy so just be ready to wait. They will grab you a table when your order is ready so don't try and save one while your in line. The service is awesome as well. Everyone is super nice and patient. Definitely worth the wait!!! My husband and I came on a Sunday morning because I was craving breakfast tacos. Well, at 10am they ran out of flour tortillas which I was super bummed about. My husband really wanted to try their menudo, so I decided to try the green chilaquiles. The food was very good, and the portions were huge! The menudo was fresh, not greasy, and had a clean taste to it. The chilaquiles were piping hot, crunchy, and so good! The green salsa had a nice kick to it. The chilaquiles came with refried beans and potatoes. The potatoes had no flavoring, so I left those to the side. Don't miss out! Do yourself a favor and come eat here. We came to visit Dallas and found this hole in a wall joint. It's in an industrial center but don't let that fool you. The food was amazing. And I'm hard to impress when it comes to comida mexicana. The family run business has excellent customer service. They have different meats of the day and you can see what you are ordering. We had the small bowl of menudo (which was plenty) hubby said it took him waaaay back to his younger years...apparently the menudo tasted like when he was a kid .. he's lived here for 30 years here in Dallas and said this was the first time he liked the menudo than anywhere else...lol...and that's saying something! He is all about taste and presentation everywhere we go...he is your new fan..lol We also had a taco de barbacoa which was AMAZING! We visited early morning and they had a Mexican morning radio show going on and it reminded me of my mom listening to morning radio shows and cooking breakfast. The food is good and the place is popular, so they should consider growing to a larger establishment with more staff if they can't take orders because they are slammed on weekend mornings. Great food, great people, so friendly and helpful with all of the samples of the selections. We might have been lucky to be there when it wasn't busy, but so glad that we were recommended to go there. It's a little hole in the wall kind of place, but very clean and in the middle of an industrial park, right across the street from TI. I was looking forward to trying their food because it seemed very authentic. They also have home made flour tortillas so I really was looking forward to trying their breakfast tacos. I ordered two barbacoa tacos on flour tortillas, two gorditas, one picadillo and one pork guiso. I was so disappointed that when I opened my order my barbacoa tacos were on a corn tortilla store bought. The picadillo meat had so much cumin on it. The only good things was the pork guiso gordita. So if you get your food to go make sure to check your order. Oh and ask for salsa otherwise they won't give you any.. Not going back again. read more

Food is delicious but customer service is terrible. Very rude staff. I wish it was like when they opened a few years ago. Everyone was so happy and courteous and now all you see is long faces.
