After spending the day touring the battlefields, this was the perfect way to end our day. Lots of options on the menu, so there is something for everyone.

Wow!!! Just WOW!! We walked into the Dobbin House and were transported back to 1776. Warm and inviting ambiance. Colonial dressed servers, dinner by candlelight. Our server, Rebecca was wonderful! She gave us us all the specials and was very accommodating. Excellent service! A fresh baked bread basket with a lovely variety of homemade breads was brought to our table. Ohhh, they were fabulous. The cuisine!!! Oh my goodness! I ordered the New York Steak, medium rare with a sweet potato. How wonderful to have an option of sweet potato or white! I was thrilled to have the option of a sweet potato. New York was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Husband ordered the pork tenderloin and it was so tender and juicy! Prime rib was delivered to our friend and was over cooked. Rebecca took it back and returned within a couple of minutes with a perfectly cooked prime rib. Crab cakes were the best I've ever tasted. No fillers. French onion soup so delicious!! Highly recommend this historical, warm, colonial flash to the past Dobbin House!

Visited over the Valentines Day weekend as Dobbin is definitely an excellent choice for a special occasion - reservation was for 7pm in the main dining rooms & we were seated within a minute or two (I've always noticed that they seem to have an efficient/accurate system - have never had a long wait... even on the busiest days). We were greeted immediately by our server in period garb & placed our drink/app orders. Another highlight is the basket of breads, which are fantastic. We ordered the NY Strip & Primal Rib of Beef® - both as always made to perfection! We had live entertainment as a gentleman with a lute moved about the dining rooms. Timing of the food arrivals was perfect and as always, we had a relaxing & enjoyable meal. We also had time afterward to visit the gift shop, which has a nice sampling of item and souvenirs - we almost always find something to buy;) I highly recommend the Dobbin House as an upscale (but not pretentious) night out - great food, great atmosphere!

I've been at the Dobbins House at least several times for the past decade and noticed 2 weeks ago that they were having a buffet for Mother's Day from 10AM until 3PM, so I made us reservations for 10:15. We parked about a block away intentionally since the restaurant parking lot is not huge. After checking with the greeter we were promptly seated andvgreeted by our server, Linda, who was great throughout. There was a huge assortment of foods many of which you can see in my accompanying photos. What you cannot ascertain, however, is how delicious everything was! The prime rib was outstanding as was everything else. The did serve "Mom-Osas" and other spiritus libations. The deserts were wonderful as well, albeit perhaps a bit too sweet for this prediabetic. A lovely touch was a rose for each Mom who was there! ALL servers were attentive and courteous which was nice. Overall 'twas a delightful experience! Oh, the price was $50 per person. We have our wedding anniversary this coming Wednesday and I think i know where we'll be coming! If sightseeing or ghost-hunting in Gettysburg, DO check it out!

My husband and I ate down in the tavern. It was 102° outside and going down in the tavern was very refreshing. The ambience was out of this world! I felt like I was stepping back in time. The servers were all dressed up. The lights were dim and candles were placed on each and every table. My husband got the open faced Reuben sandwich. I got the French onion soup and the crab dip. Everything we ate was delicious! I gave this place five stars. I will definitely be back.

This place was just amazing from being the oldest place to eat and having so many original pieces we absolutely loved it and the food! OMG the French onion soup idk if it's called the kingsman or the kings but it was the best French onion soup I ever had.

Such a cool place!! Food was good!! French onion soup the best we have ever had!!( chunks of beef in the soup) Steak sandwich was excellent and flavorful. Crab cake sandwich was spot on - generous crab minimal filling. We visited at lunch - short wait so we enjoyed a drink at the outside tables. Service was prompt and friendly. Ps they have free parking in adjacent lot

Amazing Tavern/Dining Room sends you back a century+ .. .. Carefully step down into their historic tavern and you will not remember what year it is .. .. Had their delicious local APPLE CIDER and it was crisp, snappy and delicious and their KING'S BAKED ONION SOUP is amazing with the delectable unions and beef at the bottom of the bowl .. .. yum .. .. Just the soup alone left me full .. .. And, don't forget to stop in to their eclectic gift shop on the way out .. .. I left some funds behind .. ..

I had the bacon and bleu cheese burger. It was huge and delicious!

My wife and I went on a busy Saturday for lunch. The staff was limited so we had to wait for a while to get seated and served but it was worth it. The food was delicious! I also had their iced tea - it was unsweetened and delicious. We sat outside on their patio. It was a perfect spot for lunch on a warm and sunny spring day. They have many umbrellas around so we did our best to stay in the shade.

A very lucky find! We throughly enjoyed our meal here. The food was excellent, the service friendly and the Springhouse Tavern was very cool and historic!!

We were there on a busy Saturday; they were clearly slammed and probably understaffed, and it took a bit over 20 minutes after ordering to get our food. Other than the wait for the kitchen, the service at the table was very good. It felt a bit pricey at about $62 for two with tip. Cheesesteaks were good but on the small side for $17 and $19 (the latter on a gluten‑free bun), and a little light on the Cheese Whiz. That, plus a cider and a Coke, left the overall experience somewhat underwhelming.

My wife and I both had the shrimp baskets and two soft drinks for lunch. The shrimp baskets were $17 each and the soft drinks $3 each. With tax and tips the total bill came to $50. The shrimp were obviously pre-battered and frozen but they were pretty tasty. The french fries had some kind of a nice crispy coating and were excellent. The coleslaw was pretty tired. The service was cordial and quick. The decor is as I remembered very nice. There is free parking behind this restaurant, but not many people know it is there. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is because I think that the cost of the luncheon was a little more than it should've been for what we received. Had the shrimp been coated with a batter and fried from scratch (instead of being taken out of a frozen bag) I might've been able to award five stars. But... All in all this restaurant continues to hold its "very good to excellent" reputation for food and service over many years. I would die there again and I would recommend it with no reservations.

Staff is ridiculously friendly and attentive--basically treated me like a long-lost cousin who hadn't eaten in a week. We kicked things off with their fresh, house-baked ciabatta paired with an herb-loaded olive oil and butter combo. The bread was so good I almost forgot I had actual food coming. The play-by-play: Fresh Calamari: Crispy, tender, and served with a killer marinara. Absolutely incredible. Braised Beef Ravioli: You only get four on the plate, but these bad boys are built like linebacker kneepads. Homemade pasta, packed with savory beef, and drenched in a sweet marinara. Spaghetti alle Vongole: Homemade spaghetti tossed with fresh clams in a rich red sauce spiked with garlic, white wine, and fresh herbs. Fantastic flavor. The Pizza: Hey, for Pennsylvania? Pretty solid backup options if you're not going full pasta mode. The best part? All their pasta is made completely fresh in-house, and the portion sizes are strictly "feed a Roman army" certified. Who knew Pennsylvania Italian food could punch this far above its weight class? 10/10, would willingly accept the inevitable food coma again.

We were so disappointed. Melinda was our server and just overall seemed bothered and fake when dealing with us. My husband's steak was not edible. It was incredibly burnt on the outside and not medium rare at all inside. The food took forever to get to us even though the restaurant only had 4-5 other tables. He tried to cover it in ketchup and still couldn't eat it. Melinda walked by and just said "how's everything going" once. She noticed he wasn't eating but did absolutely nothing about it.
