For an entree I had the Tempura Fried Fish Tacos. These were very good and the coleslaw served with them was very good- crunch and bright. Overall the food here is pretty solid. The service was a bit off, but not a deal breaker, just be prepared to wait a while to have your order taken.

For entrees, Dry-Aged Delmonico, Pomme Puree, Crispy Brussels, Honey Truffle Chicken and Whole Lobster Spaghetti. All the food was divine! To wrap it all up we of course ordered the 24 layer strawberry cake. The cake was bought out with a candle and 4 glasses of bubbly which was a very nice treat. Drake's met all my expectations and more. A huge thank you to the manager stopping by to make sure all was well throughout our meal. My bestie and I went for dinner at this place on a Wednesday and were seated right away, which was nice. The restaurant has a cool, trendy vibe, perfect for casual dining and happy hour. However, for me, the vibe was the best part, overshadowing the food and service. The Tex Mex food was decent, and the service was just okay, but nothing memorable enough to make me want to come back. We ordered the chicken Al pastor tacos and the verde chicken enchiladas. The food was served quickly and looked great. Both dishes had decent flavors and generous portion sizes for the price. I especially liked the cilantro rice that came with our dishes. Another plus was that the food wasn't overly seasoned and was light on salt, allowing for customization with additional salt or salsa for more heat. I would have given this place a 3.5-star rating if I could, as I had higher expectations based on the restaurant's vibe and presentation. I'm not sure if having a cocktail or drinks would have enhanced the experience, but I was aiming to stay healthy and hydrated with water. He said: the fish., chile relleno, enchiladas or the tacos. I couldn't decide, so I opted for the fish. The plate had a good presentation. It was garnished with dried chile peppers. I have given this spot so many chances even after my friend got food poisoning here. The problem is that the food just isn't good. Plus it always comes out right away and lukewarm & flavorless. Even the chips were stale last night. Such a shame because it is so close to me. They also seem to have a glass issue since I never seem to get my drink in a proper glass. This wouldn't matter as much if the food was good. read more

I hope this trip means that Marianos is back serving consistently top quality Tex-Mex.

I've had a cheese with chili con carne, soft cheese taco and chicken and sour cream sauce...ALL DELICIOUS! If you go, get the queso and add taco meat, don't order it spicy unless you can handle heat, it's SPICY! Chips and Salsa are also great. My only disappointment is living 45 minutes away on a good day.

It was a Friday night and we tried calling twice to figure out how long the wait was. No answer on the phone despite 3 calls. So we showed up. The person who arrived before us told me she tried to call and was told she had to be in person to put her name on the waitlist. When she said how large her party was, they said they had patio seating available to which she said she left her kids at home as she was told when she called there was a wait, so she needed to go get them. They said they'd hold the patio table for 15 minutes. I'm up next and ask for a table for 2, but now all the tables are filled, including the patio, so I go on the waitlist. We go to the bar to have drinks. We notice several 4 top tables with 2 people sitting at each. Mgmt take note: you're missing out on revenue! Soon two seats at the bar open so we take them and then realize we can eat at the bar. No more waitlist for us. Then our experience with the bar staff starts. They are all wonderful. Kami was especially helpful and authentic. Very easy to talk with even while she kept up with the super busy Friday night bar orders. She gave us several menu recommendations for apps, entrees, and desserts. All were spot on. So what did we get? TJ tacos were fantastic; best thing we ate. Mexican "mozzarella sticks" were delicious. Complementary chips and house salsa were very good, although the salsa had random tomato chunks that could have been cut a bit smaller. Chicken enchiladas had a good amount of chicken meat, although we wished for a smidge more sauce. And we finished with the lemon/lime desert which was a nice light finish to a filling meal. Also the margaritas (we had the regular and the prickly pair) were also good. Love that they give you the options of salt, Tajín, or nothing. We hope they change their reservation stance (ie do the opposite of what the have today, which is no reservations Thurs-Sun, and reservations available the rest of the week), but nonetheless we'll be back. :)

When it soft-opened via reservations only, scuttlebutt was mixed, so we had to check it out. We beat the after church crowd for Sunday lunch, so we were seated quickly. The service was outstanding-attentive without being overbearing. My frozen Paloma was delicious, and it came in handy when my entree (tuna tacos) was served a solid five minutes after the rest of my party. The taste was good (strips were cooked a perfect medium) but the fish itself was far tougher than I expected. Other members of my party were satisfied with their food, so maybe it was just me. On balance it was a good experience, but there are kinks to be worked out. I'll hope for the best, but I will give them a bit to work on those before I return.
