We hosted a baby shower there about 3 weeks ago. When we arrived, all the doors were locked and one of us had to go through the kitchen door to get any attention. The room for the event was painted that morning... because paint fumes are great for pregnant ladies. The bathrooms were also being remodeled so first we had to use the men's room and second there were no paper products, even after we informed them. They did not ask the guests what they would like to drink for at least 30min into the event starting! The guest of honor was not offered anything for an hour! The food was fine, but there were no napkins and they brought out things for dessert well after the party was actually finished. You'd like they would want to collect the check at the end, but when we asked a server to take it so we could leave, they refused and disappeared. Can totally look past the chaos that is renovation, but coupled with the horrible service and terrible management, this is easily a 1 Star restaurant. Save your money and go elsewhere! read more

The look of this place made me prepared for a wonderful night (after 8:30 PM) and some good food... There were staff everywhere as I sat at the outside bar. There was no real structure, the bartenders were nice when you could get their attention. I ordered Crispy Tenders and French Fries, my friend ordered Buffalo Wings. The food came fast , but ... My chicken tenders were very thin and were very few, unseasoned, and just not worth the $10 spent at all... the fries were so crispy they were potato chips, the buffalo wings were HOT (spicy). The ranch provided for the tenders was runny and warm. If I wasn't so hungry I would have definitely sent the food back and would've gotten my money back. I will never order food from this place again. The live band was ehh... I loved the DJ when he was given the opportunity to be on the 1's and 2's. If it would have been more DJ then live band ... it would have made up for the awful food. The band was draining , although they played a couple known songs. The outside furniture was a little hard and definitely could've used some cushion in the areas away from the bar. This place was packed so there is something people enjoy about it , I just haven't discovered that. read more

A group of us came for an after work happy hour. At 5pm all the spaces in the lot were coned off as reserved for valet parking. Half of our group found alternative parking and walked through the rain. The other half decided to go somewhere else. When we went to order, two people in our group tried to order the chorizo nachos and were told the kitchen was out of tortilla chips. A third was later given nachos but they came out cold and only after she followed up with waitstaff on where they were. We had two orders of loaded fries. On one the ranch dipping sauce was poured completely over the top and the other it was served in a cup on the side. Our group also ordered tots, tacos, a salad, and a few other menu items. We had to track down a staff member to get cutlery and napkins and even then not enough were provided for everyone. No consistency. Terrible parking. Poor service. Ok food and drink prices. A group of us from work came for lunch and enjoyed the calamari and seafood mac and cheese. We decided to come back again for happy hour the next week. I arrived at 5:00 and HALF of the already tiny parking lot was blocked with cones so no one could use the spots. Next to the entrance was a sign "Valet parking $8". Seriously? I need to give you $8 for the convenience of not having to park my own car 5 steps away? They linger around the lot waiting for Barclays visitors to leave their spots and then cone them off so no one else can use it. Lost my business...went to happy hour somewhere else. read more

I've never been to a place with worse service. When half the food came out, they told us we had to leave due to the "90 min" rule. If we were told that when we went to order or it hadn't taken 30 mins for half the food to arrive we would have been ok. It then took another 20 mins for the rest of the food to come. Out of the 3 servers no one paid us any mind unless we flagged them down. We then had a very rude waitress explain to us why we had to pay and leave. Stopped in on a trip from the South and saw this was a conveniently off of I 95 and an opportunity to explore this riverfront destination. Preference was the highly rated Big Fish Grill but did not open until 4. Had a basic pizza, Tater tots with crab meat as an appetizer and a crab cake sandwich. Pizza was quite heavy on the cheese and for a cheese lover I'd say ideal. Tater tots with cheese and crab meat left much to be desired. Perhaps just the hot tots and warm cheese sauce may be a better appetizer but with cold crab meat on top of this, well, not so yummie in our opinion. My crab cake sandwich was mushie and lacked anyhing memorable to mention. 2 cocktails and the above for about 70 bucks. Not again. Service was very good and just a few people at lunch due for sure to Covid. read more

This place sucks. Came here with my friend for dinner and ordered the filet mignon, medium rare. It came out well done with an obscene amount of sauce. I went to the New Year's Party at Dockland Riverfront and they hosted a fun and entertaining event. The food options at the buffet were delicious, but there seemed to be a huge backup in the kitchens. Desserts were a bit disappointing. So sad to say that Docklands is not what it used to be!!! There is a new chef... portions were horribly small. Pretzel bites used to be able to feed 5+ and now it barely fed me and my 2 girl friends. Cheesesteak egg rolls didn't have wonton wrappers and instead had some hard crunchy shell. Barbecue chicken pizza, which is usually FANTASTIC and has a BBQ sauce drizzle, was essentially cheesy bread with no BBQ sauce. What a shame!!!!! Will not be coming back any time soon. We had originally requested to sit inside but the host asked if we would sit outside due to limited seating. Normally I wouldn't care but it started to very lightly rain and the host went out of his way to not notice us. Our server wasn't very engaging and only visited our table a few times even though it wasn't busy. That was just unfortunate service I suppose, but they made up for it with their food. We started with the pretzel bites which were cooked perfectly and buttery with a nice cheese dip on the side. The shrimp tacos were my favorite, the grilled flavor with the spicy mayo were perfect together. I didn't care for the rice side, it was dry, bland and refried beans were just dumped on top. Went to Docklands on 4th of July night around 6:45. We had a train to catch from the Wilmington DE Amtrack station nearby. We had an hour to get in and get out. As we pulled up, they had all the free parking spaces blocked off and they were requiring a $5 charge to park you car in the lot immediately adjacent to the restaurant. Since we were in a hurry, we paid the $5 to park and went inside. We told the staff about our time crunch and they couldn't have been nicer. Good food, quick, polite service, in & out in 45 minutes. Dropped $70 on dinner (incl. 20% tip). All great. On the way out, we mentioned to the host we'd been charged $5 to park. He said that shouldn't have happened and he would stamp our valet stub and we could get the $5 back as dinner - as opposed to bar - patrons. He offered; we didn't ask for it or complain. I presented the validated stub to the teenaged valets and they refused to honor it or give us the $5 back. We explained what the host had said and they said they were told not to give anyone their money back. My wife asked why they wouldn't honor a validated valet ticket with the restaurant's stamp on the back and the kid snapped back, like a real smarta**, because it was "his job". Very disrespectful. I had to tell him not to address my wife in that tone of voice. We had a train to catch so we didn't ask to see a manager and let them have the five bucks. Good food, good food service and... a lost customer, a local, over $5 and a snarky attitude towards my wife from the valet. Oh, BTW, I left them a voice mail message about this issue the next morning and asked them to call me to discuss our experience. You guessed it... crickets. Also sent a text message to the "message" number on the Yelp app. No reply to that either. Tells you all you need to know. Enjoy my $5, you'll never see me or my family again. read more

I have been here a couple times this summer but last night was a really bad experience . We were seated without silverware , after 20 min of waiting on the outside patio table for a server I had to physically go in the establishment and find someone to come take our order . The man took our order and took 10 min to come back with cups of water , 5 min later I received a peach slushy that wasn't a slush only ice and a weak drink . we had to eat without silverware or napkins I went into my purse to get plastic ware not once did a waiter check on us or did we see him nearby to help . my mom asked for a to go box did not received again I had to go inside and ask a host for one & also to pay the bill we never received. Went for the NYE party. Food was great, bands were entertaining, the event was well planned and definitely worth the price of the tickets. We booked a table and our server was very attentive making sure we had drinks and that we didn't need anything. A really great time. The portapottys outside for the lounge was really great since it was so crowded and the lines could get long for the bathrooms. Everything was clean despite the crowd. Docklands is a bar that has good food. And that's it. If you're looking for somewhere that has good music and you want to dance, this is NOT the place. They've been playing the same DMX song, Kanye's gold digger, and turn down for what for years. The Dj mixes songs that don't need to be mixed. They play nothing classic, barely any hits. I found myself having a terrible time because the music was so bad. I've been here for New Years the last two years, and I'll never go back. It was 4 hours of bad music. I was so disappointed in the music, I had to drink for it to become bearable. Maybe that's just my opinion, but all I know is I won't be going back. If you're thinking about coming here, Philly is only 45 minutes from Delaware. Just go there and bring a designated driver. read more

The food was adequate. Terrible customer service!! Our waiter, Jack D, was terrible. He was dismissive, forgetful, and missing most of the time. He refused to split our check, claiming it was "too difficult". The table next to us, the waiter had no issue splitting their check. If the gratuity(which he made out like a bandit on) hadn't been included I would not have been in favor of him getting a good tip. Docklands, please train your wait staff and inform them of your check splitting policies so they are clear across the board. We will not be back. I live across the street and I frequent this bar a lot. I recognize most of the bartenders but it does not seem like they recognize me. I was having a beer tonight and I heard this song in the background that I didn't know the name of. I tried to ask the bartender(guy in the inside bar) the name of the song and he muttered something without turning around and barely responded. It wasn't crowded or anything. I'm not sure why he was so rude but in general, the bartenders are not overly friendly. They talk amongst each other a lot but rarely with the customers. I absolutely love the atmosphere and the bartenders that have made some awesome drinks and gave me a great experience as well as excellent service . Being that I'm in the restaurant business I NEVER write bad reviews because we all have bad days and room for improvement . I also deleted this review several times because I strive for positivity and not to focus on the negativity, but after reading several not so great reviews I decided it was best to go through . The food is not consistently great, but it's bar food ..I've never been disappointed with the crab tots or salmon dish ! Unfortunately my issue was with the general manager Sarah Holmes. Personally I had some serious health issues a few weeks back that I was unaware at the time, but can openly admit as a human who makes mistakes that I had a tad bit much to drink. I had order a pizza that I never got. An hour and half went by ..I'm intoxicated and I would like my pizza at this point. Apparently I shared a few nasty words with Mrs. Holmes after my friend whom I was with reminded me how nasty and horrible her customer service was and that the couple before us had complained about their pizza not being ready, how rude Sarah was and that she made a racist remark under her breath (which I did not personally hear) nor remember, the evening was a bit of a blur. None the less I never got my pizza, but was reminded this past weekend by security that I'm ban from docklands. I'm 32 years old and a highly favored bartender and server through out Delaware. I keep the peace, and bring well paying customers to establishments such as Docklands for the experience, atmosphere, and to support local restaurants and keep them in business during such a trying time. After being approached and advised that I was banned . With confusion, but respect I went inside to speak with Sarah Holmes. I explained my health issues, apologized and told her how embarrassed I was for my verbiage I chose and not remembering . I explained that I hadn't been there much this summer, but was a frequent diner . She once again was completely rude, but this time I wasn't intoxicated . She simply told me I was ban from coming there because I told her I was going to put in a complaint about her and because she has a baby at home I'm not going to come into her restaurant and threaten her job . That is no way, shape or form a means to ban someone . She is completely miserable and comes off as unwelcoming and over worked . As a general manager & dealing with the general public you're absolutely going to come across a few drunks who turn angry after waiting an hour and a half for a pizza, with no sympathy, no compensation. Had I remember her customer service from the first night I may not have returned, but banning a well paying customer after a few word exchanges is uncalled for. I fear she will scare off winter regulars who keep this summer, water front spot afloat during the cold winter months. I hope Docklands considers hiring a general manager who is welcoming, a people person, knows how to work and communicate well with others. As well as smile while their mask is off as they miserably hover over 5 pizzas that took almost 2 hours for customers to receive. It's one thing to send home an intoxicated person, but to ban them forever sounds like a personal problem. I truly wish her much success, but sadly docklands won't stand a chance if she continues to run that place with her horrible attitude and terrible customer service read more

Horrible food that started a year ago 1. Ordered my favorite chicken Cesar salad and they mix the dressing so by the time i got home everything was soggy. 2. Went for some drinks and ordered deviled eggs and the eggs were bad like it was made for a while and tasted like they just dump a cup of salt on it. 3. My sister and I went just last week and ordered filet mignon, Mc & cheese w/ sprouts and the veggies were so dry, Mc and cheese was hard like it was microwave before serving the steak was ok. their oven pizza and salad are the only 2 things i would recommend ordering. I think they need to hire a new cook. their service is great though and one of the best place to hang out and have drinks outside if you're in Wilmington, they have a river view and live band. but sorry their foods horrible. read more

Unfortunately came to Docklands for dinner and drinks tonight. Safe to say I will never be returning. We were seated and left alone for quite a long time until the server finally arrived. We asked if we could put everything in at once, to which she responded that she was happy to do so. Upon placing our order, we did not see our waitress on her own again. Runners brought our drinks, which appeared to be watered down, and 3/4 peoples food. Not to mention, the food was so cold that the cheese had a film over it and the fries were hard. We waited a few minutes, and finished our drinks, until we finally asked where the 4th meal was. The waitress finally returned at the prompting of the manager and tried to make it seem as if my friend did not order any food at all. We continued to wait some more and still no sign of my friends food, which at this point the rest of us were finished. We went to the manager again and asked to cancel the order and for our check and continued to wait. They finally brought my friends food, but we clearly were very done with the experience. Another 10 minutes later we finally received the check, and there were two extra items we did not order on the bill. We asked to change the check and the waitress became agitated that we were asking. All in all we finally left this horrible restaurant with only two items discounted at 40%, lots of sass and disrespect from a waitress named Emily who gives a bad name to many hard workers who deserved the position more than her, and several very thirsty and hungry girls. In the words of Tyra banks, I'd give it a zero but that's not possible so I give you a one. For the love of god don't go here. read more
