What a great spot we got to visit for the first time in Jacksonville Beach! We came on a colder, rainy night, but the place was still fairly busy. Staff - efficient, friendly and constantly on the go. Parking - they have it covered with free valet. Pricing - an amazing value. The one place that they falter is line management. I used to be an operations manager and studied line management, and this place appears to do it in a way that alienates customers as illustrated by their many reviews giving them great feedback but complaining about the lines. There are easy solutions nowadays with either handheld ordering devices where they could work along the line and expedite service, or with kiosks. They should call their point of sale system provider for a solution, but that's up to them. Overall, well worth stopping there for either lunch or dinner. read more

This is a good casual type restauarnt in a nice waterfront location off of Beach Boulevard with good food and reasonable prices. The ordering process can probably be improved with at least two cashiers taking orders instead of one, or a few waitresses to take orders from your table. We stopped in for lunch on a Friday around 11:30. There was already a line to order and by the time we finished eating and left, the line was twice as long. It is a very popular spot with very fresh seafood. I had the fried shrimp basket with fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. The shrimp were big and plentiful. We found this place for lunch today on our way from St Augustine back up to tge JAX airport. The food was very good. The parking lot was packed. My husband said there were more clams in the clam chowder than he had ever seen. It was confusing for newcomers to understand the traffic flow. They do a brisk business, and they want to move people through quickly so there are all these signs warning you not to sit at a table unless you have a table tracker for food. We had hoped to grab a couple of beers, sit & study the menu, but no such luck. I had paid for the beer but was told I could not sit until I got back in line and ordered food. You make three stops: pay the cashier for food, pick up a table tracker, and pick up drinks at a separate counter (beer or wine). So I ordered the clam basket, which was tasty. My husband had the chowder and a Shrimp Louie salad. I really did not have a chance to see what other options might have looked good. And the staff were all very active, trying to clear tables while we were still finishing up the last few french fries. So, go for the food. But don't expect to chill or relax. Only thing I didn't try was the oysters as I'm not a fan, but my friends said they were "ok". Didn't have anything that wasn't at least good but wasn't super blown away by anything either. My favorite two items were the spicy tuna poke & fried crab cake. Synopsis is decent quality seafood at non wallet busting prices. Is it the best seafood around? The best grilled shrimp I've had. My husband and I are on a restrictive diet. The staff was accommodating and made sure our order met our needs. We bought a shrimp cocktail and a pound of grilled shrimp. We both enjoyed the shrimp and a few hours later wish we could eat them again. We also liked that this spot felt like a laid back family atmosphere. It's right on the water and you can sit inside, on a screened porch or outside patio. I read about this restaurant being in the top 20 in the nation. I had to try it out. When we arrived we saw a line outside the door and were hesitant about staying. There is a line because you have to order before you can be seated. So please review the menu that's on the outside wall before entering to order. Parking is hectic. We did valet parking. The food was delicious and hot. No complaints. The view of the river was nice. They have the outside netted in so bugs and birds won't bother you.
