Everyone at my table literally said they had burger envy - their bad for ordering something else. My co-workers had told me that their burgers were very good - they were right! My burger was delicious, juicy, and greasy. The Doc's Burger is a 1/2 lb chargrilled burger that comes w/ fries ($12.90) ... you get a choice of curly fries or potato wedges. Both great but I'd get the potato wedges next time. The place itself is a complete dive and it's been around since the 1980s - we went during lunch and it was pretty dead - but the complete opposite after hours ... they allow smoking too so there's that. But I would still come back for their burger - it's that good. FYI they do charge a tiny extra for credit card payments ("non-cash adjustment"), and they added 18% tip ... we had 6 people in our group. Our server was very nice. read more

Best thing about this place is that it's open late. An interesting group of people congregate here. I don't know if that's good or bad. Drink prices are reasonable but I didn't try any food. My friend visits here often cause it's near her home but she doesn't have any crazy reviews about it either. Be warned that they are one of the few smoking bars. I still smell smoke on me. I was there on a Sunday afternoon to watch the football game with some friends. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and friendly. Our order did take a long time to come out. When the food did come out the mozzarella sticks were cold so the bartender took them back and brought back warm ones which was a lot better. The drinks were good and they had some specials. It is a chill bar to watch the game but people in there do smoke so that can be a turn off. Here right now with my boyfriend, and the service is bad but the drinks are good. Strong and just right. We had to wait ample rime for service or to be checked on. I wish I could rate a 0. I didn't realize racism and discrimination was alive and well until dining in. I came to enjoy food and drinks with friends. I attempted to use their in-house juke box and quickly saw I wasn't going to be able to enjoy music. I searched urban genre type music and artist and saw that they were FILTERED OUT . Meaning the restaurant has BLOCKED it out on purpose. Such artist as Brandy, Anita Baker , Aaliayh (not to mention these artist don't have explicit lyrics) so why are they blocked? Keep in mind; their security waitresses and dole bartenders were black , so were good enough to work for you but NOT have our music played? I keep getting recommended to docs. I went on a date here, the waitress was amazing a little slow but it was busy on a Monday night. The food was great hot plate and really great wing like everyone said. The drinks are really strong I had a total of 3 tequila cocktails. They had great security and a cop at the location. 8/10. -2 points for strongest drinks and slowness of receiving drinks in a timely manner. This is a great bar to have a few spirits/cocktails and play pool. The music was great and our server was attentive to our needs. Near the bar area the crowd were late 20s and up. This place is a great locals spot that was recommended to me by a hotel staffer. It did not disappoint. I had the chicken noodle soup and the wings. Both recommended by my server and both outstanding. Be advised you can smoke inside but I think most people know that already. Great pours on the drinks and super friendly staff there. So I came into Doc's about two days ago with my boss as he has come here multiple times in the past. He advised it was a laid back place where one can relax and have a drink. Upon entering we immediately went to the bar and waited to be acknowledged by any of the staff. We sat and waited for over 15 minutes but the bar staff was busy just chatting it up. No attention and no service. After waiting that long my boss and I left to another bar. It shouldn't take any time to acknowledge a customer... and we weren't going to be asking for anything more complex than a beer on tap. Basic customer service and pouring a beer isn't rocket science. FYI smoking is allowed in this bar. For those of you who cannot deal with that... just be advised. I am not the biggest fan of that either but I can deal if I can get some decent service... which I did not when I came in. read more
