A group of us were in town for work and stopped in for a beer. We didn't know what to expect. What we found was a great bar with outstanding bartenders and service and friendly regulars. Drinks were mixed well, beers were cold and service was on top of it. We had a great time hanging out at the bar, watching the game and talking with the regulars and staff (Charlie is hilarious!). We just missed the holdem tourney that was starting or would have jumped in that too! Next time in town we will have to stop in again! Great time. I get it.. may not be everyones cup of tea. Came to play pool, lots of smoke in the air and drunk patrons. The drinks are always strong and affordable, this is the after hours spot for a lot of people. The bar is usually too crowded to sit on but overall good experiences here and it won't break the bank. Just get used to smelling like cigarettes. They can't fulfill orders off their own menu. Ordered a burger and cheese sticks. 30 mins later burger shows up, no cheese sticks. Then sticks show up but we're still looking for marinara sauce. 15 mins later. Can't find marinara sauce. Cool. Give me check. You didn't give me what I ordered. First time at doc's the atmosphere is laid back. It's a smoke friendly establishment as long as you smoke cigarettes. I began to light up my cigar and was promptly told by a staff member that cigar smoke is not allowed, just cigarettes. Too bad I was beginning to like this place. I don't understand how cigarette smoke is allowed but not cigars. I'm feeling somewhat discrimated against. Either allow smoking or prohibit all of it not just cigars. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE unless you enjoy having someone try to steal money from your bank acct!!!! My server took my credit card for my bill and them swiped it on her own personal Square account on her cell phone for $50!!! I called and spoke with both managers and they both acted like they didn't know what Square was or even try to understand what I was trying to explain!! They could not resolve this problem and were very unwilling to help. They could care less so it may be how they operate. Going to file a police report!! read more

Went there last night (jan 28) had to walk because of the ice and snow. They stayed open to make sure stranded motorist would have somewhere to eat... Plus I'm sure they made some good money. Besides all of that they had great choices on the menu and my buffalo chicken sandwich was great! They put a huge piece of chicken on an amazing bun. I got curly fries which were obviously yummy! This place is pure CRAP!!! The bartender is rude as hell. I waited till he was done chit chatting with his friends and he still ignored me. A lot of cigarette smoke, almost everyone is smoking in here and I do not smoke. I wouldn't be back here, first and last. The music is good though. It was unbearably smokey in there to the point that my fiancé and I left before being seated. We were not greeted by the staff when we entered. Haven't tried their food and it's unlikely that I will. I'm not pleased with the atmosphere or service and there are many other places that offer more and do not smell like stale Marlboros. read more

I went here once in late June with a small group. We sat out on the porch because it was extremely smokey on the inside and one in our group was really sensitive to it. :) We had a really great time because on the inside, some band group was botching well known songs for entertainment, and our server recommended this apple cider type beer which was extremely good! (I wish I could remember what she called it). My group and I aren't big beer drinkers, but we decided to be adventurous because the server highly recommended it, and it was cheaper than the cocktails. Ok, others in my group got the chicken wings with the sour cream potatoes. That was good. I on the other hand, ordered a chicken philly steak (big fricking mistake on my part. You know how you're the one idiot in the group that orders outside of what everyone else did, and you get stuck with the less yummy dish, and everyone else is like, "aww sorry, bad luck!"). When I picked it up, it was so stuffed with...stuff...that it split the sub bun it was in. Also, the flavor was super bland. I did order it with curly fries, which were pretty good though. All in all, this was a fun place to hang out, especially since it's close to where I live. Our group plans on going back out for the Luau on this Saturday (July 14th). We'll see how much fun we have. (Drinks will help either way) We're also going to be ordering that apple cider beer whether it is or is not part of the Hawaiian theme! read more

I was literally kicked out of this place after complaining to management about awful service because of complaining about bad service. We waited 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken. It was my friends birthday at midnight and wanted shots to ring it in. We gave the server 22 min notice about said shots. We were served shots 12 min after midnight. I personally wrote bad svc on the receipt and was kicked out because of it. Docs is a joke. Servers and management are plain rude. Our tab was 87bucks and I hope my post takes 87 bucks out of docks wallet. That would be great. I wont be going back. read more

I travel a bunch to Atlanta and this is usually the only place open late at night. The first time I came here I was taken back in time and for sure a place out of the West Coast...you can smoke in here! I grew up around people who smoked so even though I don't like it I don't get super freaked out like some people and if you have ever been to Europe you have to get over your smoking phobia real quick. My experiences at Doc's have always been pretty good, but not great. The service is ok and the food is pretty good so that moves it up for me to the 3 star. Don't be expecting high end bar food here people this is a burger, fries and wing place. They have lots of bar food options and that's what I would stick with. I have tried their spicy buffalo chicken sandwhich and curly fries(they have 3 versions) all are very good. I have also had a burger , wings and some staple onion rings...like I said stick to what you know. Lastly they have nightly beer and drink specials which are always a great deal and lots of TV's to watch a game. read more

Went with a couple of friends after a fun night out. The bartender wouldn't serve my friend a drink, but charged her boyfriend for the drink she ordered (but never got). So when she tried to clear it up, we ended up having the cops called on us and we got kicked out. Two of the four people I was with are bartenders. It was a terrible upsetting experience. If you're looking for a place to just go and hang out with your rowdy friends - then you've found it. Strong mixed drinks, cold beer, good generic food are the basics but, it's the people watching and laid back attitude that makes Doc's one of my favorite places. They have pool tables and, on certain nights, a live band. Check their website for such items as bingo night, trivia night, etc. If there's a live band it's going to be loud! In the evening it can get pretty smoky in there. Afternoons are not crowded but, the evening can be. Go and have fun ! read more

I ordered lemon pepper and hot wings. They came out entirely too salty. I asked for them to be remade. I was told they can give me hot wings with lemon pepper on the side. That is a whole different taste. So I asked for the mgr/owner. While I was explaining the issue. I used a curse word. But not with an attitude or anything. That's how I talk. So he states he does not remake the wings. So he basically tells me he can take the wings off but he is not remaking them. I'm hungry and wanted wings. I have been a patron here for at least 4yrs and never been treated in such a manner. He would do nothing and then our waitress hands us the check. Basically kicking us out. I asked to speak with him again. He comes and I stated I did not like that he just walked off and did not come to a conclusion, he then stated he did not like me swearing. After that walks off and takes care of the entire tab and has the waitress to ask us to leave. I have never had this type of service or lack thereof. This is not how to treat people. And I wanted to apologize for me cursing. Yet he walked away before I could. I just did not appreciate the way he treated me or my friend. This has never happened. I WAS ABSOLUTELY HUMILIATED BY THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT!!!!!! In the middle of enjoying myself I went to the bathroom. In the bathroom a waitress was chatting it up with a friend. Unfortunately the waitress under the influence (YES THEY LET THEIR STAFF INTOXICATE THEMSELVES WHILE BEING ON THE CLOCK) She misplaced her crown royal satch. She sent over a total of five other employees to ask if I had seen it or picked it up. I replied no.The employees of the establishment started going throughout my company's personal belongings (THIS IS THE SAME STAFF I ASKED NOT TO GO INTO HER THINGS UNTIL SHE WAS PRESENT) They of course thought they were onto something then... I told them that they were being disrespectful and to my surprise they replied "THEY'RE DISRESPECTFUL!!!!!" They threatened to call the police. I told them I could do them a service and call them MYSELF. EVERYTHING CHANGED. They started saying they actually didn't know what was happening but their waitress belonging to the staff said I was responsible. They started reversing everything. They went as far as to say they didn't work there. The police came. I had to call the POLICE ON THEM!!! I relayed the story to them. They checked my belongings, voluntarily of course because I never stole ANYTHING then they left. I asked the manager to attempt to turn my experience around. Take care of my bill. Get my drinks. He first refused, then agreed and asked me not to RETURN. He was saying that he never told his staff to go through my belongings & that now he was the one insulted. I like this place as far as a good crowd mix. Love the live music and bands that play. Wings are my favorite and drinks are pretty strong. Only thing I don't like is the smoking. That smell seems sticks to you even after a shower. But if u can handle all the cigarette smoke you'll be OK!!! read more

I started going to doc's 4 years ago, when I moved to ATL, I loved it then, except for the smoke. Loved the live bands. Recently the element is changing, more younger crowd. Hubby and I don't go as much as I use to. The drinks are still good, but the food can be a hit or miss, it's def changed. But will continue to go. Just pray we don't get robbed on our way out. *UpDate* The last time we visited DOC's was in August on a Saturday evening at around 9ish and the band had just started to play. Horrible service it took too long to get out order placed and even longer to get it. When we finally got it the food wasn't fresh and I didn't get it the way I ordered I had to walk around the place to look for our waitress.
