They told me I needed new struts and said they replaced them and didn't. The way they left my car I could have got into an accident but they didn't care. I dropped my car off at Dr Auto and was pretty sure it was my starter. I left my car over night. The next day, he called and said that it was indeed a starter. He gave me a great price! ($1200) less than the dealer! He was honest and he communicated with me. A day later, I started having a different issue. I again dropped my car off and the next day, he could not re-create the issue. He spent a lot of time test driving to see if they could recreate the problem and never did. (We think maybe I had some bad gas) They did not change me to try and diagnose and issue!!! Friendly, knowledgeable and honest! I highly recommend this mechanic! read more

I did 6 trips back and forth with a check engine light, they told me the car needs to learn the new part (not true). After trip 6, they said a new part was broken, even though it was the same code. Has a coupon for a smog for $18.99 so I went and waited at the stop sign that says "wait here until called." You can see the back of the stop sign in my third picture. I waited probably 2-3 minutes, nobody came out, so I pulled up into a parking spot to go into their main building and ask about the smog check. But then I see a man in a truck pull up right after I parked and somebody comes out right away to help him. Wouldn't recommend coming here if you're a woman in a sedan, since apparently men driving trucks get priority. read more

I've used Doctor Auto for smog inspections the last several years. They've been fast and thorough. There's the ever-more common sign that "tips are appreciated," which doesn't surprise me. Went to the Dr. Auto Car Wash this morning to wash my car. Was happily surprised when the card machine said my card had been charged $2.75 for the car wash. Fair price since I did all the work. Got home and my wife was checking something on our credit card and I was actually charged $10.00. I didn't get a receipt at the car wash so have no actual proof of the price I was told it would be. Be aware if using this car wash as it seem to be deceptive. Would give less than one star if I could. read more

I came in with my Mazda Miata because I had originally thought I was having an issue with my intake manifold but it turns out I actually wasn't getting fuel and my fuel pump had gone out. I asked John why I was getting a code for my idle air control valve if it was the fuel pump and he broke it down and explained it pretty well why that can happen he quoted the repair for the fuel pump and filter for 649. And since they had the car and I'm done trying to mess with it I told them do the repair. Well when I come pick up my car the condition the had left it in was pretty unacceptable front passenger seat was all the way up plastic was left off the wind divider and they broke 2 clips and did not replace them one of them even broke off inside. I still need to retrieve my original key from them so I will be sure to be speaking to Josh about all of this unpleasantness read more

Though the online appointment I booked didn't go through, they fit me in quickly as a walk-in, ran the initial smog check and fully inspected the vehicle systems - all for the price of the smog check. I particularly appreciated the detailed list of items that needed to be address that included a triage type listing of what would need to be done with the car down the road. They could have told me the wheels were about to fall off, they could have gouged me with a huge bill - they didn't do either. Sitting there I noticed that one of their biggest assets is Marty at the front desk. She skillfully juggled the phones, new customers, and obvious 'regulars' - making sure that everyone felt like they were the most important customer in the world. I took my Prius in to get a CV boot replaced as it was torn and leaking grease. They said I had to replace the entire assembly which I agreed to. Service was acceptable up to this point. I picked up my car and drove home. The car had a weird hum under acceleration. I took it back in a few days and they said it was normal. I drove it for another few months before it got so bad that I thought it was going to fall apart. Took it back to them and now they said it was NOT normal and they replaced the part again under warranty. This time when I picked it up it had a hum AND a clunk under acceleration and braking. I took it back to them as it clearly had a problem. They kept it a day and then told me my transmission was bad. They didn't want to discuss why they thought that when prior to their latest repair it was running fine. Nor did they even want to give me a price or discuss replacing the transmission which tipped me off they knew that was not the problem. I then took it to Centennial Toyota as I still needed to get it fixed. Centennial Toyota fixed the cluck AND the hum. They wrote on the invoice the cause was an aftermarket part and that it was not installed correctly. Paid them $390.80 which was a discounted rate since that's all the cash I had in my pocket. I then went back to Doctor Auto twice. First time the mechanic just told me I was wrong and that he fixed it right the first time. I asked for the manager and he said he would be in later. When I went back later the big guy ALSO told me I was wrong and that he would have warrantied any work they did. He completely ignored the fact that I had been in his office no less than three times about the same issue. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ONLY WARRANTY WORK WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT AND THEY CALL YOU A LIAR TO YOUR FACE. I would be happy to post the invoices if anyone needs to see them. read more

In August 2020 My sons truck broke down on the way to Arizona. We had it towed to Doctor Auto in Las Vegas. They said that they would inspect it and determine what was wrong. We got a call and they said that the engine was seized; They wanted $5000 to fix it. We towed it to Arizona and when my son had a chance to look at it, found that the EGR valve and starter had went bad. The engine turned over freely and after he put on the Belt to replace the one they cut off and EGR valve and starter it is running and driving for $50. I called to tell them that their diagnosis was wrong and Lee told me that he didn't give a shit. I feel that they are very dishonest and were taking advantage of our situation. I don't know about these guys The man at the front desk look at the issue and said they have to remove the entire headlight assembly and they won't be able to get into it till one or two days later! I have been going to Dr. Auto on W. Craig for two years now. I'm a transplant from California and needed a new garage to care for my cars. Tried a few shops in Summerlin but they were over-priced and tried to make me repair things that didn't need to. I found this business on Angie's List. So I got a second opinion on the so-called issues. They performed free diagnosis and low and behold the issues weren't real. I have to drive a bit to get there but it's worth it. Nick Chavez (Service Manager) is very knowledgeable and down to earth. Their work is above par and pricing is fair. They even give discounts to vets. They also have a smog check station and car wash. I get discounts for smog checks and even free car washes plus they have a discount program where you buy a punch card for discounted services and oil changes. If you just use the oil change deals, you will have made your money back and then some. Join their rewards plan (for free) and lots of discounts are provided. Even if you don't get any repairs, you can use these discounts toward the purchase of the punch card. In closing. My one gripe is that the shop on W. Craig has 3 service bays so they're quite busy. Call ahead to schedule a service, but if you need to tow your vehicle there due to an emergency, I'm sure they'll do their best to accommodate you (it's happened to me already). read more
