Checked this place out after getting a spray tan next door. I ordered the Chicago dog and the mix of 3 tots. They were out of tomatoes so I decided to get to-go so I can add them at home and that's where I messed up. All 3 tots were in one box, and I ordered the salt n vinegar as one of my options and everything just tasted like that. Huge bummer cause I love tots. $10 for the dog and combo of tots, but the portion of tots was plenty! Would go back and try other options but only if I ate in. These Yelp reviews are another world compared to where we wound up. Let's go on the journey we had while visiting. Upon walking up to the very small counter, there was only one worker and she took her sweet time to come and take our order. She wasn't rude, but she wasn't very "waitress-y". We did get the $10 for $20 deal and purchased a third dog aside from that. We didn't really look around at the place, we just stood behind the tiny windshield covering the tin cans full of toppings. But after ordering, we made our way to get drinks *ehem* turned around to get drinks. Which this was placed in a very inconvenient spot. RIGHT in the door way! There's not really any options here, if you don't drink soda and like watered down tea with absolutely no flavor, you won't go thirsty here! We then made our way over inside of the place - which we discovered was an ice cream shop? The girl in there took forever too to attend to us. We only ended up purchasing a brownie as we didn't feel too comfortable with the thought of "marshmallow based ice cream". It was pretty good. So then, we proceeded to look for a place to sit down with our cups to wait on our food. But - the seating inside was full of kids in old mismatched tables and chairs. We ended up finding seating right outside of the entrance. About 15 minutes later, I went to get our food. Well- this was another adventure in itself. My husband ordered the king dog and added bleu cheese and jalapeños and got the pizza tots. I ordered the king dog with no ketchup and the totchos and we had a blt dog to share. The hotdogs were pretty good, not amazing. The only thing though is that they used commercial products, it's as if she scraped all of the toppings out of cans and microwaved the hotdog. The tots tasted like they had been cooked in an oven on its highest temperature that needed a good cleaning. And to add on to that - the cheese sauce was unbearable! The bacon pieces in the totchos were half cooked in some bits. Also, the place smelled terrible! I mean, walking up to it you smell the niceness but then once you're there, you'll be leaving smelling like you've been being heated up in a microwave covered in foil. I don't think this place gets any true reviews. If you like to eat organic and natural food or even have decent tastebuds, please don't come here. I would have given two stars if not for the service. When we asked for recommendations, the person at the counter said dryly, "I don't know. I don't really like hotdogs." I hate leaving partially negative reviews but I feel like the owners need to know about our experience today. Here's the GOOD part: the food was delicious. We ordered the simple tots, a chili cheese dog and the Wild Style Dog and we LOVED everything. The tots were actually kind of smokey flavored and were so so good. Now here's the BAD: Upon arriving, the place was super busy. The two clerks seemed a little frazzled, which was understandable. One of the clerks, who's name was Jazzmyn, had to stop what she was doing to take our order and was visibly upset about it. She didn't say hello, did not smile, she typed in my order then swung the screen around, told me where to sign, did not say thank you, and then walked in the back with a package of hotdogs in hand. I was shocked but I signed, left NO tip and then had to rip my own receipt off of the register. We then proceeded to wait for 40 MINUTES before we received our order. The other clerk, who was so sweet and who's name I did not catch (but she had blonde hair, that was braided and she was wearing a red bandana) was so apologetic to everyone and I could tell that she was trying her hardest to help all of the customers, WITH A SMILE, the best that she could. After 40 minutes of waiting we asked her if our food was coming out soon, she asked Jazzmyn and at that point, Jazzmyn proceeded to THEN make our food! Afterwards she (Jazzmyn) brought it to us, I asked her for a to-go box, and she threw one on the counter and walked away with major attitude!!! AGAIN!!! Good God, If I wasn't with my 8 month old, let me tell you, I would have went off on this girl. I mean, who does she think she is treating CUSTOMERS that way???! Anyway, we calmly took our food and proceeded to leave. The nice clerk, who's face was now red, asked us if we needed a bag and gave us two business cards for a complementary hot dog and shake. I gotta say, I would try this place again because the food was slamming but not if the bad customer service continues. Jazzmyn needs a lesson in good service because there will always be times when things get busy and overwhelming but you should never treat paying customers that way, especially ones who have done nothing to you. Ugh.... where do I start..... This was our first time going and I heard good things about this place from others. We ordered 4 hotdogs and 2 tater tot's samplers. Starting with the tots, the bacon ones weren't all that bad. We also got the 5 spice, totchos, Mac and cheese tots, and the garlic aioli tots which were pure trash! The Mac and cheese tots had NO cheese on them and tasted like they've been sitting out all day. The 5 spice tots were supposed to taste like 5 Chinese spices but they were bland. The garlic aioli tots made my tummy hurt. The totchos were so so. Our hotdogs were THE WORST. 2/4 had stale Fritos on top of them. The other 2 hotdogs were burnt to a crisp. How do you burn hotdogs? The service was no better. I asked the gentleman for extra sauce as I was placing my order because I know some establishments charge extra. The guy charged me for it and forgot to give me the extra sauce. He was too busy talking to his girlfriend, who sat at a nearby table while he was preparing our food. He got upset with me when I told him he forgot the extra sauce and wanted to charge me an extra dollar. I won't be going back to day the least. read more

This place does some crazy things to a hot dog! Went there when it first opened and had their vegan dog (boyfriend got beef and was pleased). Mine was delicious. Unfortunately I can tell they changed the vegan one since opening and it is definitely not as good, texture of the original was closer to a meat hot dog. Even with that, when you smother a hot dog in the amazing toppings and sauces they have, it's a win. I built my own and made sure to get their doghouse sauce (think thousand island), and went with coleslaw and the crushed Fritos. Perfect sweet and salty combo. Boyfriend got the buffalo and it was good as well. We've tried different flavors of tots. Tip: limit the amount of sauce on the tots. We tried the pizza and they were drowned in marinara. Became a pile of mush. Went with a balsamic and blue cheese this time and the tots stayed crispy. They were delicious. Save your receipt and you can get $1 off the soda fountain. Do yourself a favor and ask for their blacklist of milkshakes. You won't be sorry. read more

Don't waste your time going to this place. I waited about 40 minutes for 4 hot dogs and 2 orders of potato tots. As a matter of fact, I over heard people on line behind me saying that the service is really slow and when I told them how long I was waiting they left and went RUS steak , a few doors down. We got a tsunami dog (certified angus beef, pineapple, jalapeño, bacon, & garlic aioli) and urban tots; both were pretty awesome. There are a lot of other neat topping combinations on the menu I look forward to trying, and with the Soda Fountain next door you can't go wrong. read more

Two weeks, two tries. I WISH I could say something good about this place but I can't, yet. First trip took 25 - 30 minutes to get a chili cheese dog with tots. No big deal, so I don't know why it took so long. There were 4 other people in front of me so that averages out to more than 5 minutes / hot dog!! By the way... the cheese is liquid, squirted out of a machine. Not bad tasting but mixed with the chili you'll need a boatload of napkins. I think this all cost me $10 + Second trip was much faster...because there was no one in the restaurant! I ordered a Chicago dog and chili/cheese tots. Oops... out of tots. For an item that's half of their menu it's kind of inexcusable to be out of tots. Especially when Publix down the street carries them and management could go there in an emergency. Only thing worse would have been to be out of hot dogs! The Chicago dog was meh. These folks need to go to Hot Dog Heaven to try an authentic Chicago dog. Bright green relish... nope... regular sweet relish. Sliced tomatoes...nope... tomato chunks. Nice steamed poppy seed bun... nope... a bun that tasted like it just came out of the bag and broke into two pieces when I first picked up the dog. $8+ for a Chicago dog and a drink (no tots... remember?) That's about $3 more than Hot Dog Heaven. I went through the other reviews after writing this and I've got to agree.... place is overpriced, buns are not up to standard, counter help is indifferent... seems like they're just going through the motions. I really hope this place makes it, but ownership needs to spend a little time here. I wanted to love this place, but it was a little bit underwhelming. The decor is cute and unassuming and the whole place is very clean and on-trend, which I liked. I ordered the combo ($10 for a dog, tots, and a drink--I chose the chili cheese dog and the 'urban tots') which in my opinion was somewhat overpriced given the quality of the entire meal. Everything was cooked well and the hot dog itself was large and tasted great, but it was, nonetheless, a pretty standard ball-park nacho squeeze "cheese" and bland chili hot dog--you can't really go wrong, but somehow I expected more out of a hot dog sold on Edgewater Dr. The tots are really what kind of disappointed me--standard frozen potato tots covered with what appeared to be and tasted like Parmesan shaker cheese, Rosemary, and an aioli that was somehow too mayo-like and runny at the same time. It was a decent meal, and there's a lot of potential here, but I wouldn't really go out of my way to eat there again unless the quality improved. read more

Where do I even start? Right off the bat you are welcomed by a beautiful hotdog roller with hotdogs glistening under the front lights. I ordered two hotdogs. One being the Reuben (a personal favorite). And the King. Both were bountiful with flavor. When we first walked in, I asked the girl at the front if there were restrooms. She responded by saying, "there are bushes out front", while laughing. I looked at her with a blank face and continued to joke and talk to her coworker about people asking "dumb questions" about the restrooms. Terrible experience and absolute awful first impression. The hot dogs were mediocre and the toppings made it worthwhile, but to support a good establish with that kind of worker I will not support. My wife and I were going to Orlando for a few days so I thought I would look for Groupon's to use while we were there. Bought one for the Dog House as we can always use a groupon for food, big mistake on this one. We are from Chicago so we know hot dogs. The service or lack of was bad. The girl at the counter was not unfriendly or friendly she was just there. She didn't seem to care one way or another if she had customers or not. Place was empty but still had to wait for the food. She was also the cook, and that title should be taken away from her! We had 2 Chicago dogs and the buns were to big and she put so much condiments on them the buns were wet. The tater tots were not really cooked, some soft some just out of the freezer. The groupon was only $12 and that was still too much. Will not go back. Unless you are starving and all the restaurants in Orlando are closed, do not go there. read more

My wife and I arrived around 10 minutes after Noon on a Saturday. There was a group of two women and a girl at the front of the line followed by a couple of women that were together and then a group of seven people in front of us. The line did not move for a long time and we noticed that there were a total of two people working behind the counter trying to cover the Doghouse and the ice cream shop that is attached to it. It took us over 20 minutes to get up to the register and attempt to place our order. My wife wanted to "build her own dog" and told the girl what she wanted. She tried to add an order of Mac and Cheese Tots, but we were told that they were out of Mac and Cheese. She settled on the Urban Tots with Parmesan, Garlic Aioli and Herbs instead. I tried to order "The King" dog, but was told that they were out of chili too. No chili means no chili dog or any variation! Instead I ordered a "build your own dog" and a side of Balsamic Blue Tots. We sat down and waited patiently for another 20 minutes until our food was finally brought out. The tots were cold and the hotdogs were mediocre at best. All in all, we spent over an hour just trying to get a couple of hotdogs and tater tots which is a ridiculous amount of time. Hotdog Heaven on Colonial has a much better hotdog and that's where we will be going back to in the future. read more
