I absolutely love this Thai restaurant! We randomly found this restaurant several years ago but have gone back several times since, whenever we are in Woodbridge! The location is nice as there is shopping to do after or before you eat. The restaurant itself is very cute and not too small. We have always had good service, nothing over the top but always good. Thai guy here. This place is legit. First of all, the restaurant looks fantastic. Like a French cafe. It's very bright and open with high ceilings, and a beautiful array of hanging flowers and plants. Also, love the green as the primary color. The papaya salad was fresh, and had good flavor. Since Som Tom is my childhood dish, I'm very picky with this, so I'll just say it was good. Would I order it again? Probably. The drunken noodles were REALLY good. REALLY good. I would order this again in a heartbeat. Again, very fresh tasting and very well seasoned. The sticky rice with mango stole the show. The presentation alone did it. Ordered take out, the Tom yum soup felt watered down with mostly cauliflower. Ordered the spicy mango sauce tilapia but the tilapia had 0 taste it tasted like water (no salt or pepper?) and the sauce was okay! Had really high expectations as this order cost about $50, the only thing I liked was the mango sticky rice but even that wasn't warm like it usually is. The rice was hard but I really enjoy this dish normally so I didn't mind. My suggestion is to not order it take out but to dine in instead for a better experience. Went here on a date night with my wife and left having a new favorite restaurant. Restaurant is clean, bright and very comfortable. White staff is very attentive and offers excellent assistance in helping with the heat level. Our dishes came out fast and hot. Stopped here on a whim and I am so glad I did! The service was great & the staff is welcoming and polite. They were very attentive. Everything was brought out in a timely manner and the waitress was on top of all our needs. We started off with the steamed dumplings. These things were jammed packed with meat! The taste was okay, but I feel like the shrimp/seafood taste overpowered the overall flavors. Although the dumplings were alright, I would go with something else if I do decide to come back here. The entrees we decided on were the flank steak pad Thai and the coco paradise. The pad Thai was filling and flavorful. You definitely get a good portion amount and you may even have some left over to take with you. The coco paradise was incredible. The coconut red curry sauce satisfied every craving. It had the right amount of spice (may be a little spicy for those who don't do spicy foods) and a generous amount of seafood! Scallops, shrimp, mussels, and the tasty/juicy pineapple bits. The dish was paired with a plate of white rice that allowed me to saturate it in the curry sauce. It is safe to say I over indulged. The Mai Tais were so refreshing ! Being grapefruit based, the drink itself packs a punch . I would definitely order these if you're looking for a refreshing alcoholic beverage. All in all, this place is a gem. The drinks were very yummy! I always evaluate a Thai place by its' Pad Thai and this place crushed it! The interior design was unique and easy on the eyes. My family and I had a great time! Giving it 4 stars because of the waiter, he decided to card me and no one else on the table. I tried to brush it off and ask why that is, but all he did was giggle. I didn't think it was funny. The noodles in my pink soup were cooked perfectly and the veggies and tofu were a nice texture-y bite. The soup broth reminded me of a less spicy, more earthy version of Tom Yum. I loveddd the sweet sticky rice and Thai custard. It had little fried bits on top which brought the dish together. My friend and I got non-alcoholic daiquiris which were delish and very palate cleansing. I appreciated that a sprinkle of fruits were used to garnish the top of the drink itself. Very pretty. The ambiance really matched the essence of the food and the music helped set a hip garden-y scene. I loved seeing plants and greenery everywhere! The staff was friendly too. Much appreciated. THE FOOD HERE IS SO GOOD!! Everything that we ordered was delicious!! We got seated, and it took awhile for anyone to come and check on us/ took our order. Our waiter was very good and entertaining! Probably the best waiter I've ever had. He remembered everyone's order without writing it down, and he knew how to say thank you in all our languages. The food was soooooo good. The place is not that big, but it's decorated really cute and the staff is very attentive. I had the ginger cosmo which was really strong as far as the ginger, and my mom had the dodge khoa which wasn't as strong, but was cute since it had different colors. The crispy salmon rolls we had as an app were different but very tasty. It was like a fried sushi roll. For entrees we had the whole fried branzino, the volcano seafood, lamb in two seasons and the crab fried rice. The seafood and lamb were tough. The lamb prob should have been cooked longer to become tender but the flavor was nice. The seafood was rubbery and not that good. Fried fish and crab fried rice was a 10/10. For dessert we had the sticky rice with mango and bubble Thai tea mousse cake. They were both delicious . I'd go back and try different items on the menu and just stay away from the seafood and lamb. read more

My husband and I are huge Thai food fans and this is one of the top three Thai food places we've ever had. The food isn't greasy like a lot of Thai places that we've tried and the flavors are plenty and fresh. Their adult beverages are fairly strong and unique but their lychee martini is sort of syrup-y but it's still great. There's an outdoor seating area that had dogs but note that it's narrow so if your dog isn't well behaved or barks at other dogs then this isn't the place for your furry friend because they'd have to come into contact with other dogs. Yelp says dogs are not allowed so these people might have been trying to pass their shitzus as service dogs. Might want to call and check. The only downside is I feel like it's cramped in there which is even more apparent when it's busy and it's definitely hard to maneuver with a stroller. I do not recommend bringing a stroller to this place. They have baby high chairs and if baby is too small for that then bring their car seat and pop them on a chair in it. Overall I highly recommend. Try the mango sticky rice! The menu is huge and there is something for everyone on it! You won't be disappointed. read more

Ambiance: Upon entry I was greeted by a foyer decorated with elegantly layered greens ranging from forest to pastel, and accented with gold pieces. At first I expected it to be rice with coconut, however when it got to the table I was surprised to find that it was coconut shaved to be rice with vegetables, peanuts, and a light ginger vinaigrette. It was a nice and fresh twist for a hot afternoon. The chive dumplings were the best part in my opinion. I can ALWAYS go for some of those! They remind me of childhood and are perfect side for any season. They are the perfect combination of creamy and crispy vegetables and pair WELL with the sweet soy sauce. Service: I love that they don't bother you much. A lot of American restaurant staff will constantly ask you if you need anything EVERY 5 minutes and try to rush you through your meal, however this establishment doesn't pressure you. 3.5 stars. No complaints about the food. I got beef and shrimp Pad Thai and I enjoyed it. Everyone said their dish was spicy, even those who didn't order spicy dishes (myself included). I was ok with it because I love spicy food, but it's something to consider if you're someone who can't handle spicy or if you have kids. My mom didn't like her dish, she said it was way too sweet for her taste. I wouldn't get Taro Boba tea from them again. Other than that, everyone was satisfied with their food. Now, the chairs: soooo uncomfortable. We sat in the sort of middle area in front of the booths in the back and I kept slipping from my chair and couldn't find a comfortable position. Everyone else I was with said the same. The service is lacking. It took 15-20 minutes just to get our drinks. The wait on the food was reasonable, but we still did not receive the attention I thought we'd get after reading the raving reviews of this place. My niece introduced me to this place for her 18th birthday celebration. It's a beautiful place very calm, cleaned and decorated beautifully and the food was so delicious. I ordered the red curry duck, the creaminess, sweetness; spiciness balanced beautifully it was one of the best Thai curry i ever had. It was not overly creamy with coconut milk I think they used heavy cream and butter. However, i didn't appreciate nor like the duck, it was not fresh it tasted like it was two to three days old, the meats had tighter up even the rich flavor of the curry couldn't tenderize the duck. I don't like returning my food unless it's totally inedible, i will go back because the dishes and drinks were super delicious but next time i will return my food it's too expensive not to serve quality and freshness. I've ordered twice from Dok Khao and have great experiences both times. Today I purchased the street noodles minus the finger chili, which I assume was the heat. This dish wasn't spicy, but more so savory. In fact, I didn't even add soy sauce to my dish because it tasted perfect as is. The street noodles are ramen-like in consistency combined with plump shrimp, minced chicken, onions, bell peppers, and scrambled egg. A very good meal with a more-than-ample portion size. It is a tad bit more pricey but I feel it's so worth it. I topped off my meal with a Thai coffee that was very good. I'll be back because Dok Khao has some items I wish to try. read more
