Don't go here!! Bad experience. Came in excited to try this restaurant because of all the positive reviews but honestly this is a tourist trap that does not care about customer service at all and it's so much work for the server to do her job. Constant attitude from the server with the (star tattoos?) on her arm. We had a party of 5 and there was plenty of tables, and they tried to seat the 5 of us at a small table meant for only 4 people. No big deal, but we intended to buy a lot of dishes for the table and even if we only ordered one dish per person we would not sit comfortably at this table. There was a small open table near us, which I asked the server if we can combine the table to which she ignored my request completely, and threw a chair at the end of the table. When I requested again to combine the table due to lack of space, she finally rudely combined the tables without a word said and threw down the menu in front of me. Totally not how you treat customers by the way, and after reading other negative reviews it seems like the rudeness was not uncommon. Not sure if all the negative reviews had the same server, but everyone else here that I encountered was absolutely lovely. They should just fire this girl and they would probably never see another negative review. The parking lot is really tiny, so be prepared to not find any parking. When we came in it wasn't too busy, we got seated pretty quickly. I was hoping that with this experience, the food would at least be the most amazing food for them to have the reviews they have with the way customers are treated here. Food wasn't bad, but definitely not worth all the hype. On top of that, asking for things we needed for our meal was met with more attitude, didn't realize we were pulling teeth! (No tip for bad servers!) We ordered the pancakes, waffles, langos, paprikash, french toast, the simple breakfast, and the hash brown with hatch green chili. The breaded stuff like the French toast, pancakes, and waffles were not bad pretty typical as far as those dishes go. The langos was also alright, it wasn't all too flavorful I'm not sure if it was just an off day for this dish since it seemed so promising but it was very ok as well. The hash brown was also alright, the flavors were good but the texture of the hash brown itself tasted like frozen hash browns that became soggy after it was cooked. My simple breakfast included hash browns, and same texture. The sunny side up eggs were fine, and came with English muffins. The English muffins were probably my favorite part of all the items today, which is strange because I don't particularly love English muffins. The paprikash on the other hand was unique, and I enjoyed these. If you do end up dining here for whatever reason, I suggest trying this dish for sure. The paprikash is a Hungarian stew that has egg noodles similar to spaetzle, and includes sour cream. This dish was pretty flavorful, and I did enjoy this. Needless to say, I was overall disappointed in my experience this morning and I hope that everyone has a different experience if they go. I highly suggest going to Clafoutis instead, as everytime I'm in town I go there and never have bad food or a bad experience. Heard great things about this place and the food was good. Service also excellent. I had chicken and waffles, very tasty. The waffles were a bit crunchy/oily on one side, maybe the oil they used in the waffle iron. The chicken was lightly breaded and juicy. We also had the burrito- very large and tasty. The drinks (latte, Mexican hot chocolate) were not hot enough. But they tasted good and had good presentation. Still 5 stars for overall great place. read more

This place is around the corner from me so I tried it again. I tried a smothered burrito. It was all tortilla and no filling, a few patches of hash browns, sticks of sausage, and a few pieces of scrambled eggs. It was very disappointing to me. My partner liked his. Service was outstanding. We enjoyed a shaded quiet table outside. I had the quiche of the day which was chard and caramelized onions with a side green salad. It had the crispiest crust I've ever encountered and was absolutely delicious. Way too much but I ate it all. Anyways. My husband had the chicken with waffles. The waffles had an interesting texture. Dolina is my husband and mine favorite breakfast spot in Santa Fe. The food and service had always gone above and beyond. We visited last weekend and we're just enjoying ourselves having a few pastries when the staff noticed we had been waiting longer then normal for our food. There had been a mix up in the kitchen and our waiter noticed and let us know what was happening right away and took care of us because of the mix up. I appreciate that they not only acknowledged their mistake and let us know that they appreciated our patience with them. We will be returning and telling our friends and family about how wonderful the food and how exceptional the staff at Dolina are. Also try the baked eggs. They are hands down the most delicious thing on the menu! read more

This place is really annoying. After waiting in line for 20 minutes after they literally just opened, they tell me "we aren't doing to go orders right now" delivered by a snotty woman with a seriously bad attitude. And there are maybe 4-5 customers at tables in the entire place at this point, and everyone else in line seemed to just be getting pastries/coffee at the counter, so it couldn't have been a "too busy" kind of thing with regard to the kitchen. Charmless and inattentive table service. Why wouldn't you offer cream when someone orders coffee? Why would you then act surprised when they flag you down to request it? Why would you not offer to refill the thimble-sized pitcher when it was empty? The restaurant wasn't particularly busy but it still took over 30 minutes for our food to come to the table. When it did, my simple breakfast of eggs and hashbrowns was ICE COLD. The server took it to the kitchen and returned with the exact same plate of food, but not any warmer. Mmmm. Nothing like cold eggs. Why wouldn't you just remake it? I've had good experiences at Dolina in the past, but I would have been better off going to Denny's. read more

Everything we ate during both visits was delicious. The chicken and waffles were spectacular and I highly recommend them. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Good service, tasty food. I came here on a recommendation, following a morning at my happy place Meow Wolf. First off....parking is....tricky. There are a couple spots in front, in a very strangely shaped lot. And apparently...there is a small lot out back behind the restaurant. But there was an old lady just....parked in what I assume was the driveway, completely blocking the driveway to the lot AND blocking it in such a way that I literally could not tell that it even WAS a driveway TO the lot. I ended up having to pay for parking (downloading the local pay-to-park-by-phone app and paying that way because WHO HAS SMALL CHANGE ANYMORE) several blocks away and walking back to Dolina. So....be aware. So many things on the menu looked really good, but when I asked what the quiche of the day was...it hit several of my favorite ingredients and bridged the breakfast-lunch gap. So I immediately placed my order for that. It came, generously sized and tasty, with a large accompanying salad. Lots of food in the serving! You won't leave hungry! I also got a slice of the swirly, cinnamon-y, nut bread. It was really tasty (and what they make their french toast out of...), and leftovers of it made for a good breakfast the next day too. They food and the pastries are good for breakfast or a brunch but be warned that when you go, it's a bit chaotic where there isn't a real organized system to how to get seated for dine-in service. You basically stand in the same line to grab your carryout, order from the bakery and put your name on the list. Meanwhile, you saw the cashier also sit people to a table and also make coffee. There was a full staff but they didn't seem to have order on who did what but more like a lesson of if you can do it, then do it. We had multiple people drop off plates, refill our drinks and take our bill. If this runs like a well oiled machine otherwise, I would give them another star. It's a small place but super popular so you definitely will need to make sure you come early or be prepared to wait. read more

The hubs and I popped by here for breakfast yesterday. It was hopping and parking was quite challenging to find. We decided to order to go which was very quick with turn around time. The hubs got a breakfast burrito with green chili and I did the simple breakfast with two over medium eggs, hash browns, English muffin and avocado slices. My food was cooked well but didn't have any salt or pepper on anything. It definitely made for a healthier experience but would have been a nice addition. The burrito was a good one and the hubs was happy with his choice. The pastries all looked incredible to sample and the staff was all really friendly. read more

Incredible breakfast/lunch place! Owner is Slovakian, and the menu includes a bunch of her national favorites--but that's far from the entire menu. Absolutely everything is homemade, including soups. Baked goods are fantastic. Staff is very friendly. Atmosphere is neighborhood-casual. For a small cafe the staff was efficient and kept things moving on a busy weekend. The food came out fast from the kitchen. I had the breakfast burrito , topped with green chilis. It was one of the better breakfast burritos of my trip through Santa Fe. The place was clean, bright, with an open floor plan that made it feel larger than it was. I had the pleasure of eating breakfast at Dolina's. It's definitely a great spot with a lot of great menu items and a yummy bakery. I had the salmon tartine (smoked salmon with a boiled egg and capers topped with greens). It's a large portion but a very refreshing breakfast. The flavors were incredible. I really loved this place for breakfast on my vacation. Truth be told - we were all eating so much - this place was suggested as a "light" breakfast place. I ordered the croissant sandwich. I normally do not waste my sandwich calories on a "croissant bun" unless the croissant looks "worth it"- calories-wise. And this one was well worth it! My man got the Santa Fe Burrito, and I did not taste it - but guess what - this place takes amazing pride in the TOASTING of their English muffin, too often, is soft and flabby, but this one was toasted (and buttered) PERFECTLY. I know that sounds like a silly thing to obsesses over - but it really worth mentioning!!!!! - I love and English muffin! Ever had a day when you woke up and felt too lazy to think about what to cook for breakfast? Well, the day we visited Dolina was one of those days when partner started looking at a place that he hadn't tried before (even though he ended up getting super American breakfast anyways!). Dolina caught our attention because of a good review and because it had slight Eastern European influence...so...we kind of wanted to try! My partner ordered Simple Breakfast $10.95 (really simple..just 2 eggs, bread, and potatoes. He added on $2 for turkey sausage, too). I ended up ordering Langos ($12.95), which was a Slovakian streetfood of fried dough with pretty and healthy toppings (see the photo in my review!). Their ordering system via their website was quite efficient. We were able to pick up our order 20 min after placing our online order. I honestly didn't know what to expect of the dish I ordered (I'm a pretty adventurous foodie and really enjoyed learning more about different cultures through food..so hey..this dish kindda fit my mentality and how I usually operated)...but turned out to be nice and pleasant! The fresh cheese and veggies on top worked really well with fried dough..I would definitely ordered it again! My partner's dish was ok..I actually didn't even want to try it given it was so simple like what the name of the dish implied!). Overall, the restaurant had some nice bakeries (cookies, cakes, quiche, etc) for purchase as well. The prices were slightly high..but hey..the taste was good...and it's Santa Fe...so the prices are kindda what you'd expect out of a restaurant of modern/artsy/pleasant environment in Santa Fe. They did have 2 small tables outside of the restaurant to sit as well..but I wouldn't bank on sitting there (since there were so few tables!) and would suggest ordering to pickup your order and go have your glorious meals somewhere else instead! read more

Living in Santa Fe for a while now, this is one of those places I am very conflicted about: One one hand, the food is spectacular; good selection, really excellent flavors, wonderful baked goods. The servers are friendly, capable, lovely people. On the other hand, the entire system is way too chaotic, with what appears to be a disorganized management system (an overall "who's doing what?" energy). It's not immediately obvious how to put your name on the waiting list (it seems to be the same line as the bakery). There is always a clump of people outside waiting - in part because tables are ready to turnover and no one is paying attention to the wait list (i.e. no identified host/hostess). The indoor space is nice, but the location itself is by a busy road with very little parking. read more

We enjoyed Dolina so much it was the only place we visited twice during our visit to Santa Fe. The chicken soup with halushky and the turmeric ginger honey lemonade were favorites when dining in the cafe, but you can't leave without items from the pastry case. Excellent Polish cookies and a savory scone were standouts. Our server was warm and attentive, and kindly told us we had "good energy", which actually made my morning that much happier.
