This one is on the smaller side, I just really like that this one is in Austin and not a whole plane ride away. So, Daisos are basically little Japanese versions of a Dollar General with a smaller food section. Lots of cute little gadgets, decor, stationary, tchotchkes, and of course snacks. Service is fast and friendly, can't ask for much else. Everything is low priced and most of the items are pretty useful. Note: nearly everything is priced in yen and items without a price on them are less than two dollars. There are little signs all over showing you the conversion for the listed price, so no worries there. We ended up purchasing snacks and I snagged myself a little roll of blueberry washi tape. I know I didn't need to buy it, but it called to me from the basket of stationery. I have already tried it out, and it's gorgeous.

You do have to read the pricing key to understand the price of all items but they're posted almost everywhere so there's very little confusion! The store is a good size but the isles are very narrow so prepare to run a couple shoulders when passing through.

This Rack location has a decent selection. Most recently went shoe shopping with my boyfriend and he found exactly what he needed. So I made the mad dash to Nordstrom Rack Saturday morning. I walked in with low expectations, fully prepared to hit multiple stores before finding anything close to what I needed. Instead, I found the most gorgeous Badgley Mischka crystal pumps. They're slightly bigger than my normal size, but that actually works in my favor. They're comfortable, my toes can move, and I can already tell I won't be plotting my escape from them halfway through the evening. While I was there I grabbed a strapless bra and even found a formal bag that works better than the clutch I originally planned to carry. Sibyl at checkout was the perfect finishing touch to my morning. Friendly, outgoing, and genuinely helpful. The whole experience felt like the Nordstrom culture of service I studied back in graduate school.
